Lymphoma in pregnancy is a rare and challenging diagnosis that complicates ∼1:6000 pregnancies; posing a series of unique therapeutic, social, and ethical challenges to the patient, her family, and the medical professionals involved. These difficulties are compounded by the paucity of real-world data on the management of LIP, and a lack of relevant support systems for women in this setting. We conducted a retrospective multicenter qualitative study, interviewing women aged ≥18 years of age diagnosed with Hodgkin (HL) or non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) during pregnancy or within 12 months postpartum, between 1 January 2009 and 31 December 2020 from 13 Australasian sites. Semi-structured telephone interviews were conducted, recorded, and analyzed using QSR Int NVivo 12 Pro (March 2020, USA) to quantify salient themes. Of the 32 women interviewed, 20 (63%) were diagnosed during pregnancy (16, 34, and 13% in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters, respectively), while 12 (37%) were diagnosed post-partum. In preclinical models of prostate cancer (PC), disulfiram (DSF) reduced tumor growth only when co-administered with copper (Cu), and Cu uptake in tumors is partially regulated by androgen-receptor signaling. However, prior trials of DSF in PC used DSF as monotherapy.To assess the safety and efficacy of concurrent administration of DSF with Cu, we conducted a phase 1b clinical trial of patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) receiving Cu with DSF.Patients with mCRPC were treated in two cohorts: mCRPC with nonliver/peritoneal metastases (A), and mCRPC with liver and/or peritoneal metastases (B). Baseline Cu avidity was measured byWe treated nine patients with mCRPC (six on cohort A and three on cohort B). Bone and nodal metastases showed differential and heterogeneous Cu uptake onOral DSF is not an effective treatment for mCRPC due to rapid metabolism into an inactive metabolite, Me-DDC. This trial has stopped enrollment and further work is needed to identify a stable DSF formulation for treatment of mCRPC.

Background and Objectives: Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) education has become a mainstay in resident education in multiple specialties, including family medicine (FM), but literature regarding the use of POCUS during clinical medical student education is lacking. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether and how POCUS education is conducted in FM clerkships in the United States and Canada and how it compares to more traditional FM clinical procedural instruction. Methods: As part of the 2020 Council of Academic Family Medicine’s Educational Research Alliance survey of FM clerkship directors, we surveyed clerkship directors in the United States and Canada about whether and how POCUS education, as well as other procedural instruction in their institutions and FM clerkships, was conducted. We included questions regarding POCUS and other procedural use by preceptors and faculty. Results: We found that 13.9% of clerkship directors reported structured POCUS education during clerkship, while 50.5% included other procedural training. The survey revealed that 65% of clerkship directors felt that POCUS was an important component of FM, but this was not a predictor of POCUS use in personal or preceptor practice nor of its inclusion in FM clerkship education. Conclusions: Structured POCUS education is a rare component of FM clerkship education; while more than half of clerkship directors felt that POCUS was important for FM, few used it personally or included it in clerkship education. As POCUS continues to be integrated into medical education in FM, the clerkship may represent an opportunity to expand POCUS exposure for students.

Positive youth development has been extensively documented in contexts such as the family, school, and afterschool. Emerging theory and research indicate that digital contexts such as social media may also be venues through which young people develop skills and attributes associated with the 5 Cs model of positive youth development and thriving. This research attempted to understand if and how middle school youth’s in-person and online networks connect, and if they do connect, do these connections relate to engaging in beliefs and behaviors associated with PYD. Results suggest that in this sample, middle school youth include peers from afterschool in their online networks, and those who have friends from afterschool and school engaged in PYD- related social media behaviors at higher rates than those who were not connected to in-person networks. No association was found between the amount of time spent in after-school contexts and any of the positive or problematic social media outcomes in this study. Implications for youth development professionals considering the influence of social media on youth, and next steps for research on after-school activities and social media use of middle school youth are discussed.

We present an analytical model for the evolution of extended active galactic nuclei (AGNs) throughout their full lifecycle, including the initial jet expansion, lobe formation, and eventual remnant phases. A particular focus of our contribution is on the early jet expansion phase, which is traditionally not well captured in analytical models. We implement this model within the Radio AGN in Semi-Analytic Environments (RAiSE) framework, and find that the predicted radio source dynamics are in good agreement with hydrodynamic simulations of both low-powered Fanaroff-Riley Type-I and high-powered Type-II radio lobes. We construct synthetic synchrotron surface brightness images by complementing the original RAiSE model with the magnetic field and shock-acceleration histories of a set of Lagrangian tracer particles taken from an existing hydrodynamic simulation. We show that a single set of particles is sufficient for an accurate description of the dynamics and observable features of Fanaroff-Riley Type-II radio lobes with very different jet parameters and ambient density profile normalisations. Our new model predicts that the lobes of young (< 10 Myr) sources will be both longer and brighter than expected at the same age from existing analytical models which lack a jet-dominated expansion phase; this finding has important implications for interpretation of radio galaxy observations.
