Compared to the growing number of utility-scale solar farms (USFs) sitting in hilly regions, knowledge of the hydrological behaviors in responding to the installation of USFs in these environments remains limited. We present herein a novel model (the Solar-Farm model) to understand the hydrological behaviors following the construction of a USF in the Loess Hilly Region of China, by combining it with an index of hydrological connectivity (HC). Scenarios were designed to estimate the effects of climate and terrain in controlling the effects of the USF on soil erosion, by altering the mean annual precipitation amount, the frequency of precipitation events, and the relief amplitude. Our results show that land use changes (e.g., vegetation removal) incurred a considerable increase in the accumulative soil erosion (22.45%-66.48%) during the installation period. During the 40-year deployment period, photovoltaic panels (PVs) incurred an average of 0.138 m deeper erosion in the USF compared with the background rate without PVs. A wetter climate induced the highest increase (88.25%) in erosion. However, the relief amplitude and precipitation frequency are also confirmed as important controlling factors for soil erosion (increased by 85.42% and 58%, respectively). The HC was increased during both the construction (0.005-0.12) and operation periods (0.149-0.314). Correlation analysis presented that the landscapes with higher HC were more likely to be exposed to the risks of soil erosion. USFs could increase soil erosion by increasing runoff and local HC, and higher background HC in turn could further aggravate the effects of USFs on soil erosion.

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have emerged as a promising class of solvents for lignin dissolution, which could significantly expand the application potential of lignin. In this study, over forty ChCl-based DESs of three major types were synthesized and subjected to investigate the solubilisation of two industrial lignins in DES. The results showed that higher HBD content, shorter carbon chain length in the HBD, and fewer functional groups favored lignin solubilization. DESs containing carboxyl groups were found to be more favorable for breaking β-O-4 bonds and solubilizing lignin. Additionally, high temperature and appropriate water content were observed to promote lignin solubilization. The pretreatment of poplar and maize straw with ChC/FA(1:3), ChC/LA(1:3), ChC/Gly(1:3), ChC/EG(1:3), ChC/Urea(1:3), and ChC/TEOA(1:3) showed good solubilization of lignin, with ChCl/FA(1:3) being particularly effective in solubilizing poplar lignin and maize straw lignin, achieving lignin solubilization of 82% and 57%, respectively. Overall, these findings suggest that DESs have great potential as solvents for lignin dissolution.

Intelligent monitoring of agricultural activities is an important part of it. However, due to difficulties in achieving a balance between quality and cost, the goal of improving the economic benefits of agricultural activities has not reached the expected level. Farm supervision requires intensive human effort and may not produce strong results. In order to achieve intelligent monitoring of agricultural activities to improve economic benefits, this paper combines UAV with Deep learning model, through the combination of UAV in the agricultural industry to detect and classify objects, to achieve independent agriculture without human intervention. In this paper, a highly reliable target detection and tracking system using UAV is developed, which will be proved to be cost-effective. The system uses Deep learning method to solve the target problem. The model uses the data collected from DJI Mirage 4 UAV to detect, track and classify different types of targets. The average map accuracy of this method for target detection and tracking is 90.98\%, the average accuracy is 89.76\%, and the average recall rate is 88.78\%. In addition, this paper also compares the performance of different Deep learning models, such as YOLOv7, FASTER-RCNN, SSD, MASK-RCNN, and compares them with key evaluation indicators, and finally determines a method through the development of YOLOv7-DeepSort model.

A functionalized cross-linked polyphosphazenes microsphere (Salen-PZN-Ni@DHPP-PTS) was prepared by wrapping Salen-Ni basis polyphosphazenes (Salen-PZN-Ni) with a kind of hybrid flame retardant (DHPP-PTS) to improve the flame retardancy and smoke suppression properties of epoxy (EP) composites. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that the addition of Salen-PZN-Ni@DHPP-PTS greatly improved the thermal stability of the EP composites. The addition of 5 wt% Salen-PZN-Ni@DHPP-PTS remarkably improved the fire safety of EP, which was illustrated by the results of the cone calorimeter. For example, the peak heat release rate and total heat release rate of the EP composites were reduced by 44.2% and 33.1%, respectively. The limiting oxygen index value of 5% Salen-PZN-Ni@DHPP-PTS/EP composite reached 29.8% and UL-94 achieved V-1 rating. In addition, the introduction of Salen-PZN-Ni@DHPP-PTS effectively suppressed the production of toxic CO and other volatiles. Meantime, the synergistic effect between Salen-PZN-Ni and DHPP-PTS was found. The potential flame retardant mechanism of Salen-PZN-Ni@DHPP-PTS is regarded as the synergistic catalytic carbonization effect and the extremely thermally stable components forming. Three-dimensional (3D) frameworks have received much attention as an effective modification strategy for next-generation high-energy–density lithium metal batteries. However, the top-growth mode of lithium (Li) on the 3D framework remains a tough challenge. To achieve a uniform bottom-up Li growth, a scheme involving Ag concentration gradient in 3D PVDF framework (C-Ag/PVDF) is proposed. Ag nanoparticles with a concentration gradient induce an interface activity gradient in the 3D framework, and this gradient feature is still maintained during the cycle. As a result, the C-Ag/PVDF framework delivers a long lifespan over 1800 h at a current density of 1 mA cm−2 with a capacity of 1 mAh cm−2, and shows an ultra-long life (>1300 h) even at a high current density of 4 mA cm−2 with a capacity of 4 mAh cm−2. The advantage of concentration gradient provides further insights into the optimal design of the 3D framework for stable Li metal anode.

Background: Receptor-interacting serine-threonine protein kinase 3 (RIP3) was previously discovered to be an important medium in the occurrence and development of major atherosclerotic cerebral infarction. However, the role of RIP3 in acute ischemic stroke remains unclear. Objective: This study aimed to explore the correlation between plasma levels of RIP3 and acute ischemic stroke with large-artery atherosclerosis (LAA). Methods: This prospective study enrolled 116 patients with LAA, 40 healthy controls, and 30 acute ischemic stroke patients with small-artery occlusion. The patients with LAA were divided according to the quartile of plasma levels of RIP3. A logistic regression model was used for comparison. The ROC curve was performed to evaluate the predictive value. Results: In patients with LAA, the RIP3 levels in patients with poor outcomes as well as neurological deterioration were significantly higher than those with good outcomes (P < 0.001) and without neurological deterioration (P = 0.014). Patients in the highest levels of plasma RIP3 quartile were more likely to have neurological deterioration (OR, 11.07; 95% CI, 1.990-61.582) and poor outcomes (OR, 35.970; 95% CI, 5.392-239.980) compared with the lowest. The optimal cut-off value for neurological deterioration was 1127.75 pg/mL (specificity, 66.7%; sensitivity, 69.2%) and that for poor prognosis was 1181.82 pg/mL (specificity, 89.7%; sensitivity, 62.1%). Conclusion: Elevated levels of plasma RIP3 were significantly associated with neurological deterioration and poor prognosis in patients with LAA. A significant increase in plasma RIP3 levels can predict neurological deterioration and the poor prognosis of these patients.

Ischemic stroke (IS) is a cerebrovascular disease with high morbidity, recurrence, and mortality. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the role and mechanism of human serum exosomes on angiogenesis after IS. The middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) in vivo model and oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) in vitro model were established. Human serum exosomes from healthy samples (NC-exo) and IS samples (IS-exo) were injected into MCAO mice. Neurobehavioral tests were performed to assess the extent of neurological deficits. The infarct volume was assessed by 2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining, and the levels of inflammatory cytokines were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). In addition, human serum exosomes were cocultured with brain microvascular endothelial cells (BMECs). Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), Transwell, and tubule formation assays were performed to investigate the proliferation, migration, invasion, length, and branching of BMECs. The miRNA expression profiles of NC-exo and IS-exo were analyzed by high-throughput sequencing and compared. Bioinformatics and luciferase reporter assays were performed to evaluate the relationship between miR-340-5p and CD147. Serum NC-exo and IS-exo had protective effects on IS injury and promoted BMEC angiogenesis. Interestingly, the protective effect of IS-exo was weaker than that of NC-exo. In addition, miR-340-5p was downregulated in IS-exo, and miR-340-5p accelerated angiogenesis of BMECs after OGD. Mechanistically, CD147 was confirmed as a direct target of miR-340-5p. Finally, miR-340-5p promoted angiogenesis by directly targeting CD147. Serum exosome-derived miR-340-5p promote angiogenesis in OGD-induced BMECs by targeting CD147.

Many factors affect the reaction characteristics of nitrogen oxides and SO2 in a dielectric barrier discharge reactor. Changing the SO2 initial concentration, oxygen content and water vapor content to study the reaction mechanism of NO and SO2 in the dielectric barrier discharge plasma process has been conducted. It was shown that the initial concentration of SO2 varied in a larger scope has little effect on the reaction characteristics of NO and SO2 in the N2/SO2/NO system. Increasing the water vapor content in the N2/NO/SO2/HO system would reduce the concentration of SO2 significantly in the flue gas, and the influence on SO2 is more obvious than on NO. Then, the influence of oxygen on the reaction characteristics of SO2 is not obvious, increasing the O2 concentration in the N2/NO/SO2/O2 system, the changed of SO2 concentration is less than 10%. But the adding of O2 affects the reaction of NO in the dielectric barrier discharge process obviously, it can promote the conversion of NO2 and other NOx, at the same time, the generation of NO was also being accelerated under certain conditions. By analyzing the reaction mechanism, it was found that the activated radicals produced in the dielectric barrier discharge process concerned SO2 reaction mainly OH, while related the reaction of NO, the O and N play an important role. Through the experiment and analysis, it was also deduced that there are oxidation and reduction reactions existed at the same time, also the generation and removal of NO occurred simultaneously.

With the ageing of the global population, the incidence of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs) is increasing. To assess the safety and efficacy of O-arm- and guide-device-assisted personalized percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) for treating thoracolumbar OVCFs, a total of 38 consecutive thoracolumbar OVCF patients who underwent bilateral PKP assisted with an O-arm and a guide device (O-GD group, n = 16) or traditional fluoroscopy (TF group, n = 22) from January 2020 to December 2021 were retrospectively reviewed, and their epidemiologic, clinical and radiological outcomes were analysed. The operation time was significantly decreased (p < 0.001) in the O-GD group (38.3 ± 12.2 min) compared with the TF group (57.2 ± 9.7 min). The number of intraoperative fluoroscopy exposures was significantly decreased (p < 0.001) in the O-GD group (31.9 ± 4.5) compared with the TF group (46.7 ± 7.2). Intraoperative blood loss was significantly decreased (p = 0.031) in the O-GD group (6.9 ± 2.5 mL) compared with the TF group (9.1 ± 3.3 mL). No significant difference (p = 0.854) in the volume of injected cement was observed between the O-GD group (6.8 ± 1.3 mL) and the TF group (6.7 ± 1.7 mL). Both the clinical and radiological outcomes, including the visual analogue scale score for pain, Oswestry Disability Index and anterior height and local kyphotic angle of the fractured vertebrae, were significantly improved at the postoperative and final follow-up but did not differ between the two groups. The incidence of cement leakage and refracture of the vertebral body was similar in the two groups (p = 0.272; p = 0.871). Our preliminary study demonstrated that O-GD-assisted PKP is a safe and effective procedure that presents a significantly shorter operation time, fewer intraoperative fluoroscopy exposures and less intraoperative blood loss than the TF technique.

Cobalt-free LiNiO2 cathode materials offer a higher energy density at a lower cost than high Co-containing cathode materials. However, Ni(OH)2 precursors for LiNiO2 cathodes are traditionally prepared by the coprecipitation method, which is expensive, complex, and time-consuming. Herein, we report a fast, facile, and inexpensive electrolysis process to prepare a Ni(OH)2 precursor, which was mixed with LiOH/LiNO3 salts to obtain a LiNiO2 cathode material. A combination of advanced characterization techniques revealed that the LiNiO2 cathode material prepared in this way exhibited an excellent layered structure with negligible Li/Ni site mixing and surface structural distortion. Electrochemical cycling of the LiNiO2 cathode material showed an initial discharge capacity of 235.2 mA h/g and a capacity retention of 80.2% after 100 cycles (at 1 C) between 2.75 and 4.3 V. The degradation of the cycling performance of the LiNiO2 cathode material was mainly attributed to the formation of a surface solid-electrolyte interface and a ∼5 nm rock salt-like structure, while the bulk structure of the cathode after cycling was generally stable.

Background As one of the most important modified products of rosin, rosin glyceride was widely used in many aspects. However, the preparation of rosin glyceride is always unfriendly due to the use of liquid catalyst, such as H2SO4 and H3PO4. Methods The rosin glyceride with low acid value was synthesized in vacuum conditions using a novel Lewis acidic ionic liquid 1–butyl–3–methylimidazolium chloroscandinate[BuMeim][Sc2Cl7] as catalyst. The [BuMeim][Sc2Cl7] is of excellent catalytic activity and stability. The efficient catalytic activity was studied via the combined Density Functional Theory (DFT) and experimental conditions. Significant findings The DFT proved the free energy of the esterification could reach to 31.6 Kcal/mol, which illuminates that the excellent coordination of the anions and cations in the [BuMeim][Sc2Cl7] greatly reduces the reaction energy barrier and promotes the efficient progress of the reaction. As a result, [BuMeim][Sc2Cl7] is a good catalyst for the esterification of rosin and glycerol to prepare rosin glyceride. Furthermore, [BuMeim][Sc2Cl7] could be a potential catalysts for the other esterification.

OBJECTIVES This study was to explore the effects of teramethylpyrazine (TMP) administered in conjunction with neural stem cell transplantation on motor function, pathological lesions and the Janus kinase (JAK)2/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 signal transduction pathway in rats following acute spinal cord injury (SCI). METHODS Female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham, model, neural stem cells (NSCs) and NSCs+TMP groups. Motor function was evaluated using the Basso, Beattie, Bresnahan scale. Spinal cord neuropathies and neuron apoptosis were observed by HE and TUNEL staining. The brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), Nogo-A, JAK2 and p-JAK2 protein levels were measured by western blot analysis. RESULTS NSCs+TMP significantly improved rat motor function, attenuated impaired spinal cords, and decreased cellular apoptosis, compared with NSCs therapy alone (P < 0.05). In addition, expression of BDNF protein was significantly higher in NSCs+TMP rats compared with other groups regardless of time postinjury (P < 0.05). The highest expression levels of Nogo-A protein were observed in the model group. The expression of p-JAK2 in the NSCs+TMP group was relatively lower than the model and NSCs groups (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS In rats with SCI, NSCs+TMP effectively improved motor function and offered spinal cord protection by increasing BDNF and decreasing Nogo-A levels, as well as inhibiting the JAK2/STAT3 signal transduction pathway, suggesting that TMP could be a useful agent in NSCs transplantation in the treatment of SCI.

Dysregulated long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been shown to contribute to the pathogenesis of ischemic stroke. However, the potential role of lncRNAs in post-stroke microglial activation remains largely unknown. Here, we uncovered that lncRNA-U90926 was significantly increased in microglia exposed to ischemia/reperfusion both in vivo and in vitro. In addition, adenovirus-associated virus (AAV)-mediated microglial U90926 silencing alleviated neurological deficits and reduced infarct volume in experimental stroke mice. Microglial U90926 knockdown could reduce the infiltration of neutrophils into ischemic lesion site, which might be attributed to the downregulation of C-X-C motif ligand 2 (CXCL2). Mechanistically, U90926 directly bound to malate dehydrogenase 2 (MDH2) and competitively inhibited the binding of MDH2 to the CXCL2 3' untranslated region (UTR), thus protecting against MDH2-mediated decay of CXCL2 mRNA. Taken together, our study demonstrated that microglial U90926 aggravated ischemic brain injury via facilitating neutrophil infiltration, suggesting that U90926 might be a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for ischemic stroke.

Background Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are important regulators that drive or inhibit cancer initiation and development. Here, we identified the expression and function of a circRNA, circ_KIAA1199, in colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods The expression levels of circ_KIAA1199, microRNA-34c-5p (miR-34c-5p) and Musashi RNA-binding protein 1 (MSI1) mRNA were detected by quantitative real-time PCR. Cell proliferative capacity was assessed by colony formation assay, EdU assay and MTT assay. Cell apoptosis was determined by flow cytometry assay. Cell migration and cell invasion were investigated by transwell assay. The expression of MSI1 protein and proliferation, migration-related markers was detected by western blot. The relationship between miR-34c-5p and circ_KIAA1199 or MSI1 was verified by dual-luciferase reporter assay. Animal models were constructed to ascertain the role of circ_KIAA1199 in vivo. Results The expression of circ_KIAA1199 was elevated in CRC. Circ_KIAA1199 downregulation suppressed CRC cell proliferation, survival, migration and invasion. MiR-34c-5p was a target of circ_KIAA1199. The effects of circ_KIAA1199 downregulation were reversed by miR-34c-5p deficiency. In addition, MSI1 was a target of circ_KIAA1199, and the inhibitory effects of miR-34c-5p restoration on CRC cell proliferation, survival, migration and invasion were reversed by MSI1 overexpression. Circ_KIAA1199 positively regulated MSI1 expression by targeting miR-34c-5p. Moreover, circ_KIAA1199 knockdown blocked tumor growth in animal models. Conclusion Circ_KIAA1199 functioned as an oncogene to drive the malignant development of CRC by activating MSI1 via competitively targeting miR-34c-5p.

Track tension is a major factor influencing the reliability of a track. In order to reduce the risk of track peel-off, it is necessary to keep track tension constant. However, it is difficult to measure the dynamic tension during off-road operation. Based on the analysis of the relation and external forces depending on free body diagrams of the idler, idler arm, road wheel and road arm, a theoretical estimation model of track tension is built. Comparing estimation results with multibody dynamics simulation results, the rationality of track tension monitor is validated. By the aid of this monitor, a track tension control system is designed, which includes a self-tuning proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller based on radial basis function neural network, an electro-hydraulic servo system and an idler arm. The tightness of track can be adjusted by turning the idler arm. Simulation results of the vehicle starting process indicate that the controller can reach different expected tensions quickly and accurately. Compared with a traditional PID controller, the proposed controller has a stronger anti-disturbance ability by amending control parameters online.

Porous carbon materials was synthesized using MCM-41as template and self–N–doped porous carbon material was fabricated via a well–directed synthesized 1–butyl–3–methylimidazolium triazole [Bmim]tr, an exemplary ionic liquid (IL) possessing 36.4 wt % N content and dual–aromatic anion/cation. The obtained materials had well–distributed hierarchical meso–/micro–pore structure, a large surface area (1425.6 m2 g−1), and high N content (11.29 wt%), which provided efficient electron transmission capability, thus significantly enhancing the electrochemical performance. At 1.0 A g−1, the specific capacitance from the CN900 sample achieved 376.4 F g−1. In addition, a high energy density of 13.07 Wh kg–1 at 500 W kg–1 was demonstrated. Furthermore, a high stability of more than 97.7% after 10,000 cycles was obtained. This study presents that the dual–aromatic cation/anion–based ILs with high N–content/MCM–41 template strategy is promising for the preparation of self–N–doped carbon materials for supercapacitor applications.

Ultra-low-copy number proteins play a crucial role in exploring cellular heterogeneity and the insight of protein biomarkers in a single cell. However, counting ultra-low-copy number target proteins in a single cell remains a grand challenge. Herein, we developed a so-called single-cell picoliter liquid operating technology for counting target proteins in a single cell. An ingenious volume-controllable sampling technique was employed to capture a single cell for subsequent analysis. Remarkably, 50 pL of sample volume was employed for sample preparation, single-cell capture, in-droplet lysis, and target protein immobilization on a functionalized coverslip in a monolayer. Then, target protein antibodies coupled with quantum dots were added and incubated to label those immobilized proteins. International audience; Pepper (Capsicum spp.) is an important vegetable crop that provides a unique pungent sensation when eaten. Through construction of a pepper variome map, we examined the main groups that emerged during domestication and breeding of C. annuum, their relationships and temporal succession, and the molecular events underlying the main transitions. The results showed that the initial differentiation in fruit shape and pungency, increase in fruit weight, and transition from erect to pendent fruits, as well as the recent appearance of large, blocky, sweet fruits (bell peppers), were accompanied by strong selection/fixation of key alleles and introgressions in two large genomic regions. Furthermore, we identified Up, which encodes a BIG GRAIN protein involved in auxin transport, as a key domestication gene that controls erect vs pendent fruit orientation. The up mutation gained increased expression especially in the fruit pedicel through a 579bp sequence deletion in its 5 0 upstream region, resulting in the phenotype of pendent fruit. The function of Up was confirmed by virus-induced gene silencing. Taken together, these findings constitute a cornerstone for understanding the domestication and differentiation of a key horticultural crop.
