104. Facile Fabrication of High‐White and Robust Superhydrophobic Ni/Al2O3 Composite Coating on Al Alloy.

Abstract

This work presents a facile method to fabricate high‐white and robust superhydrophobic film on Al alloy surface. Ni/Al2O3 film with appropriate roughness and high‐white surface is constructed on the Al alloy by a simple chemical bath method via placing the Al alloy into the Ni2+ aqueous solution. Then the surface energy is reduced by spin‐coating the stearic acid (STA) to achieve excellent superhydrophobicity. As expected, the reflectivity, self‐cleaning, corrosion resistivity, and mechanical durability of Al alloy after modification have all displayed dramatic enhancements. The reflectance of the modified Al alloy is far above the pristine Al alloy at all wavelengths (200–2,000 nm). This high‐white film with remarkable reflectivity can effectively reduce its surface temperature and improve visibility in practical applications. Finally, a champion water contact angle of 161° and corrosion resistivity of 97.6% are attained by coating Ni/Al2O3‐STA composite film on Al alloy. The Leeb hardness of superhydrophobic film‐coated Al alloy is enhanced from 325 to 461 after coating superhydrophobic film on Al alloy. Abstract

Given a natural language, a general robot has to comprehend the instruction and find the target object or location based on visual observations even in unexplored environments. Most agents rely on massive diverse training data to achieve better generalization, which requires expensive labor. These agents often focus on common objects and fewer tasks, thus are not intelligent enough to handle different types of instructions. To facilitate research in open-set vision-and-language navigation, we propose a benchmark named MO-VLN, aiming at testing the effectiveness and generalization of the agent in the multi-task setting. First, we develop a 3D simulator rendered by realistic scenarios using Unreal Engine 5, containing more realistic lights and details. The simulator contains three scenes, i.e., cafe, restaurant, and nursing house, of high value in the industry. Besides, our simulator involves multiple uncommon objects, such as takeaway cup and medical adhesive tape, which are more complicated compared with existing environments. Inspired by the recent success of large language models (e.g., ChatGPT, Vicuna), we construct diverse high-quality data of instruction type without human annotation. Our benchmark MO-VLN provides four tasks: 1) goal-conditioned navigation given a specific object category (e.g., "fork"); 2) goal-conditioned navigation given simple instructions (e.g., "Search for and move towards a tennis ball"); 3) step-by-step instruction following; 4) finding abstract object based on high-level instruction (e.g., "I am thirsty")., 18 pages

Abstract

Recent advances in text-to-image diffusion models have achieved remarkable success in generating high-quality, realistic images from textual descriptions. However, these approaches have faced challenges in precisely aligning the generated visual content with the textual concepts described in the prompts. In this paper, we propose a two-stage coarse-to-fine semantic re-alignment method, named RealignDiff, aimed at improving the alignment between text and images in text-to-image diffusion models. In the coarse semantic re-alignment phase, a novel caption reward, leveraging the BLIP-2 model, is proposed to evaluate the semantic discrepancy between the generated image caption and the given text prompt. Subsequently, the fine semantic re-alignment stage employs a local dense caption generation module and a re-weighting attention modulation module to refine the previously generated images from a local semantic view. Experimental results on the MS-COCO benchmark demonstrate that the proposed two-stage coarse-to-fine semantic re-alignment method outperforms other baseline re-alignment techniques by a substantial margin in both visual quality and semantic similarity with the input prompt.

120. Robust and Efficient Carbon-Based Planar Perovskite Solar Cells with a CsPbBr3–MoS2Hybrid Absorber

Abstract

Optical response improvement and hole transport/extraction enhancement are critical to enhancing the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of carbon electrode-based perovskite solar cells (C-PSCs) with an absorber of CsPbBr3. In this study, a multifunctional optimization method by embedding MoS2nanosheets in CsPbBr3bulk to construct a perovskite–nanosheet hybrid structure was presented. A CsPbBr3–MoS2hybrid film was fabricated by two-step spin-coating the precursor solutions of PbBr2and CsBr–MoS2under an ambient atmosphere, where the aqueous solution with highly distributed MoS2nanosheets was applied as a solvent of the hybrid precursor solution. MoS2nanosheets were utilized as a p-type modifier and extra absorber to hybridize with CsPbBr3for improving the CsPbBr3–carbon interface and light absorption ability of the perovskite layer. As expected, the optical response ability, absorber film quality, and carrier separation/extraction/transport properties of C-PSCs were enhanced significantly by embedding MoS2nanosheets in CsPbBr3film, which resulted in enhanced C-PSCs properties. Finally, the C-PSCs with the structure of FTO/SnO2/CsPbBr3–MoS2/C presented a champion PCE of 7.87% (active area: 1 cm2), which demonstrated excellent ambient and operational stability. This study provides an efficient method for constructing ultrastable C-PSCs by hybridizing perovskite and nanosheets.

Abstract

Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is an aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma having a poor overall survival that is in need for the development of new therapeutics. In this study, we report the identification and expression of a new isoform splice variant of the tyrosine kinase receptor AXL in MCL cells. This new AXL isoform, called AXL3, lacks the ligand-binding domain of the commonly described AXL splice variants and is constitutively activated in MCL cells. Interestingly, functional characterization of AXL3, using CRISPRi, revealed that only the knockdown of this isoform leads to apoptosis of MCL cells. Importantly, pharmacological inhibition of AXL activity resulted in a significant decrease in the activation of well-known pro-proliferative and survival pathways activated in MCL cells (i.e.b-catenin, AKT, and NF-kB). Therapeutically, pre-clinical studies using a xenograft mouse model of MCL indicated that bemcentinib is more effective than ibrutinib in reducing the tumour burden and to increase the overall survival. Our study highlights the importance of a previously unidentified AXL splice variant in cancer and the potential of bemcentinib as a targeted therapy for MCL.
