Background The endangered rate of medicinal plant exceeds that of endangered plant species. However, blindly introducing medicinal plants in regions without comprehensively considering the involved environmental factors results in diseases and insect pests and the consequent overproof pesticide residue as well as reduces the quality of herbal medicine produced. Methods Global Medicinal Plant Geographic Information System (GMPGIS) was developed to analyze environmental information of ecologically suitable regions, thus guiding the conservation and introduction of medicinal plants. This system is based on theories and methods from multiple disciplines, including computer science, geoinformatics, ecology, and traditional herbal medicine. Using a range-based method, the previously established ecologically suitable regions were evaluated. This new method effectively resolved the problem of outlier points, and its functions were implemented in Python. The system automatically calculates the Euclidean distance of climatic factors and intersection of soil factors, thus identifying regions with high ecological similarity and those are climatically and edaphically suitable for the cultivation of medicinal plants. Results These results, validated using real-world regions, revealed that GMPGIS is highly accurate in screening ecologically suitable regions for the cultivation of medicinal plants worldwide. Conclusions Overall, because of these features, the GMPGIS is considered as a suitable distribution analysis system for global medicinal plant cultivation. When the feeder without DC circuit breaker fails, the whole line will be isolated. Transient fault and permanent fault, as well as the identification of permanent fault section are the preconditions for restoring line operation. Based on the corresponding relationship between traveling wave and network topology, this paper proposes a fault section identification method which is not affected by distribution line branches. The key is to compare the difference between the reference traveling wave in the normal operation topology and the injection traveling wave in the fault topology, and extract the characteristic traveling wave of the corresponding fault branch. In the case of transient fault, the injection traveling wave of the measuring point is not different from that in normal operation; in the case of permanent fault, the time information carried by the first different traveling wave of the injection traveling wave and normal traveling wave of the measuring point reflects the fault interval. In this paper, a feeder fault section identification method based on injection traveling wave is proposed, and the correctness and feasibility of the proposed method are verified by simulation.

Flexible DC distribution network has flexible control, high power quality and can be equipped with new energy distributed generation, but the serious over-current problem after DC line fault is one of the important factors restricting its development. The analysis and calculation of short-circuit fault current is of great significance for the design and selection of system parameters. However, MMC converter station is a highly complex nonlinear system, and its topology is relatively complex for DC distribution network. The load of distributed generation and DC / DC adapter makes the fault analysis of DC distribution system more complex than that of DC transmission system, so it is unable to get the fault current calculation results Therefore, the short-circuit fault current is often obtained by simulation. The research on approximate expression of fault current can only be carried out for two terminal DC system, but it can‘t be done for line short-circuit fault current in other topologies. Based on the theory of modular multilevel converter (MLC), this paper presents a new design of MLC According to the basic characteristics of MMC (converter, MMC) flexible DC power grid system parameters, the approximate analytical solution of line short-circuit fault current is obtained by reasonably simplifying it, which can accurately describe the overall trend of fault current in a period of time after the fault, and provide a certain basis for the selection and setting of DC line protection setting parameters.

Electron correlations play a central role in iron-based superconductors. In these systems, multiple Fe $3d$-orbitals are active in the low-energy physics, and they are not all degenerate. For these reasons, the role of orbital-selective correlations has been an active topic in the study of the iron-based systems. In this paper, we survey the recent developments on the subject. For the normal state, we emphasize the orbital-selective Mott physics that has been extensively studied, especially in the iron chalcogenides, in the case of electron filling $n \sim 6$. In addition, the interplay between orbital selectivity and electronic nematicity is addressed. For the superconducting state, we summarize the initial ideas for orbital-selective pairing, and discuss the recent explosive activities along this direction. We close with some perspectives on several emerging topics. These include the evolution of the orbital-selective correlations, magnetic and nematic orders and superconductivity as the electron filling factor is reduced from $6$ to $5$, as well as the interplay between electron correlations and topological bandstructure in iron-based superconductors., Comment: 26 pages, 8 figures

Fritillaria naturally grows in the temperate region of Northern Hemisphere and mainly distributes in Central Asia, Mediterranean region, and North America. The dried bulbs from a dozen species of this genus have been usually used as herbal medicine, named Beimu in China. Beimu had rich sources of phytochemicals and have extensively applied to respiratory diseases including coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Fritillaria species have alkaloids that act as the main active components that contribute multiple biological activities, including anti-tussive, expectorant, and anti-asthmatic effects, especially against certain respiratory diseases. Other compounds (terpenoids, steroidal saponins, and phenylpropanoids) have also been identified in species of Fritillaria. In this review, readers will discover a brief summary of traditional uses and a comprehensive description of the chemical profiles, biological properties, and analytical techniques used for quality control. In general, the detailed summary reveals 293 specialized metabolites that have been isolated and analyzed in Fritillaria species. This review may provide a scientific basis for the chemical ecology and metabolomics in which compound identification of certain species remains a limiting step.

BACKGROUND: In China, where Rheumatic heart disease is still prevalent, two thirds of valve replacements are in mitral position. Before a valve replacement operation is conducted, most patients have reached Class III/IV heart function under the New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification system. As the background to this disease is quite different to that of degenerated cases, which are more prevalent in Western countries, the development of an artificial heart valve that is suitable for local patients is very significant for China. In this medium long-term clinical follow-up study, a data analysis was conducted of domestic heart valve production for mitral replacement. METHODS: A total of 288 patients who underwent mitral valve replacements from 2005 to 2015 at 2 cardiac surgery centres (i.e., The Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University, and The First People’s Hospital of Yulin) were evaluated. All implanted bioprostheses were BalMedic(®) bovine pericardial bioprosthetic valves, which had been granted marketing approval by the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) in 2003. Double valve cases that involved both aortic and mitral replacements were not included in the study. On average, patients were aged 54.5±10.8 (range, 11 to 77 years) before the procedure. The mean follow-up period was 7.2±2.6 years. The study examined the overall survival (OS) curve, and different age group results. To gain further insights into the functions of the valves, the OS curve and the age group results for the reoperation-free and structural valve deterioration (SVD)-free rates are also presented. RESULTS: The 10-year OS rate was 65.6%, the 10-year reoperation-free rate was 76.3%, and the 10-year SVD-free rate was 58.0%. In relation to the age group results, younger patients had higher survival rates, while older patients had higher reoperation-free rates and SVD-free rates. CONCLUSIONS: In relation to the medium long-term clinical follow-up results, the durability performance of the BalMedic(®) bovine pericardial valve in the mitral position was satisfactory, especially among patients whose heart function was worse than that of Western sufferers. Survival rate, reoperation-free rate and SVD-free rate were used for the comprehensive analysis.

Under different installation methods, the illumination uniformity of strawberry canopy was tested, and the light environment was simulated by dialux evo. Through the simulation test of different arrangement, installation height and luminous angle, the data of three different working faces are observed. Through analysis and calculation, a kind of light environment design which can improve the illumination uniformity of strawberry canopy in greenhouse is obtained.

Biliary dilatation (BD), also known as bile duct cyst, is a rare primary biliary disease. It can be congenital, and can also occur in adulthood, mainly manifesting as intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile duct single or multiple local dilatations. The typical clinical manifestations include jaundice, abdominal pain, and abdominal mass, often accompanied by pancreatitis, cholangitis, and carcinogenesis. The canceration rate is 20 to 30 times that of the general population. Secondary biliary dilatation caused by stones, strictures, or tumors of the bile duct does not belong to the category of BD.

For the last few decades, it has been the popular trend in China that people are putting more attention on improving their healthiness and regulating calorie intake for every meal, so that we build a model for calorie estimation of Chinese food. In an attempt to express our concerns on this issue, and with our great interests, we used object detection to estimate the calories count of some famous Chinese dishes as well as that of Western dishes. Based on the food images and previously defined calorie data, we built some image-based calorie estimation models, which we hoped can accurately identify the name of the Chinese and Western foods and provide their calorie intake and recipe, and finally offer meal plan advice for different groups of people. To identify the dish, we used the SSD (Single Shot MultiBox Detector) for real-time processing of object detection and classification. We also used a computer application called “labelImg” to manually label our dishes with their respective original dish names. Using our models, users can easily calculate the calorie intake of their desired foods by taking photos, saving a lot of time compared to their conventional methods.

The urgent need for large-scale, low-cost energy storage has driven a new wave of research focusing on innovative batteries. Due to the high capacity and the low-cost of elemental Al, aluminum-ion batteries (AIBs) are expected as promising candidates for future energy storage. However, further development of AIBs is restricted by the performance of existing carbon-based cathodes and metal chalcogenide cathode materials. OBJECTIVE: To explore the application of 3D visualization and 3D printing in individualized precision surgical treatment of Bismuth-Corlette type Ⅲ and Ⅳ hilar cholangiocarcinoma. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed the data of 10 patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma undergoing surgeries under the guidance of 3D visualization and 3D printing in the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Zhujiang Hospital from May 2016 to March 2019. Thin-section CT data of the patients were collected for 3D reconstruction and 3D printing, and the 3D printed models were used for observing the 3D relationship of tumor with the intrahepatic bile duct, hepatic artery, portal vein and hepatic vein system and for performing preoperative simulated surgery and surgical planning. The 3D printed models were subsequently used for real-time intraoperative navigation to guide surgeries in the operating room. RESULTS: 3D visualization models were successfully reconstructed for all the 10 patients and printed into 3D models. The 3D visualization types in Bismuth-Corlette classification included type Ⅲa (4 cases), type Ⅲb (4 cases), and type Ⅳ (2 cases); 4 patients showed portal vein variation, 3 had hepatic artery variation, and 2 had both portal vein and hepatic artery variations. Two patients were found to have trifurcation type of portal vein variation, one had "I-shaped" variation, and one showed the absence of the right anterior branch of the portal vein; 3 patients had hepatic artery variations with the left hepatic artery originating from the left gastric artery (1 case) and the right hepatic artery originating from the superior mesenteric artery (2 cases). Four patients with type Ⅲb underwent left hepatectomy; 4 with type Ⅲa received right hepatectomy; 1 patient with of type Ⅳ received peripheral hepatic resection and another underwent left hepatectomy. The results of preoperative 3D reconstruction, 3D printed model and preoperative planning were consistent with the intraoperative findings. The operative time was 452±75.12 min with a mean intraoperative blood loss of 356±62.35 mL and a mean hospital stay of 15 ± 4.61 days in these cases. One patient had bile leakage and 3 patients had pleural effusion postoperatively, and they were discharged after drainage and medications. No liver failure or death occurred in these cases perioperatively. CONCLUSION: 3D visualization and 3D printing can facilitate accurate preoperative assessment, surgical planning and surgical procedure optimization for Bismuth-Corlette type Ⅲ and Ⅳ hilar cholangiocarcinoma to improve surgical safety and reduce surgical risks especially in cases of intrahepatic vascular variations.

Microgrid (MG) consists of distributed generators (DGs) is widely used to supply electric power in nowadays’ power system. Reliability, economy and robustness are all necessary to MG. Fully distributed architecture without a control center can improve the MG’s ability of damage resistance. Based on this architecture, every DG becomes an intelligent agent in this paper. Inspired by the ideology of parallelization and co-evolution, a novel distributed artificial bee colony algorithm (D-ABC) was designed to run on each agent in parallel. Then, agents can collaboratively implement economic power sharing subject to system constraints. Some simulations were done on MATLAB to verify the optimality and robustness of D-ABC. Some shortcomings and future prospects were proposed in this paper also.

Hepatectomy is the optimal method for liver cancer; the virtual liver resection based on three-dimensional visualization technology (3-DVT) could provide better preoperative strategy for surgeon. We aim to introduce right posterior lobe allied with part of V and VIII sectionectomy assisted by 3-DVT as a promising treatment for massive or multiple right hepatic malignancies to retain maximum residual liver volume on the basis of R0 resection.Among 126 consecutive patients who underwent hepatectomy, 9 (7%) underwent right posterior lobe allied with part of V and VIII sectionectomy. 21 (17%) underwent right hemihepatectomy (RH). The virtual RH was performed with 3-DVT, which provided better observation of spatial position relationship between tumor and vessels, and the more accurate estimation of the remnant liver volume. If remnant liver volume was40%, right posterior lobe allied with part of V and VIII sectionectomy should be undergone. Then, the precut line ought to be planned on the basis of protecting the portal branch of subsegment 5 and 8. The postoperative outcome of patients was compared before and after propensity score matching.Nine patients meeting the eligibility criteria received right posterior lobe allied with part of V and VIII sectionectomy. The variables, including the overall mean operation time, blood transfusion, operation length, liver function, and postoperative complications, were similar between two groups before and after propensity matching. The postoperative first, third, fifth, and seventh days mean value of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), albumin (ALB), and total bilirubin had no significant difference compared with preoperative value. One patient in each group had recurrence six months after surgery.Right posterior lobe allied with part of V and VIII sectionectomy based on 3-DVT is safe and feasible surgery way, and can be a very promising method in massive or multiple right hepatic malignancy therapy.

Objective Root or rhizome of Panax notoginseng (Sanqi) is known for its eutherapeutic effects. Panax vietnamensis var. fuscidicus, called Yesanqi or Yuenan sanqi by local residents, is also commercially available. They are similar in morphology, leading to serious safety problems in clinical medication. It is necessary to find the rapid and efficient methods to identify them. Methods P. notoginseng and P. vietnamensis var. fuscidicus were identified by DNA barcoding based on the ITS2 sequence. Notoginsenoside R1 and ginsenosides (Rb1, Rg1, Re, Rd, Rc, and Rb2) were analyzed in the roots, fibrils, stems, leaves, and flowers of P. notoginseng and P. vietnamensis var. fuscidicus using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Results P. notoginseng and P. vietnamensis var. fuscidicus were separated into branches of divergent clusters, and P. vietnamensis var. fuscidicus and Panax vietnamensis were clustered into a clade with 98% similarity according to DNA barcoding analysis. The chemical compositions of P. notoginseng and P. vietnamensis var. fuscidicus were similar in roots; while their compositions and contents of notoginsenoside R1 and ginsenosides in flowers, leaves, stems, and fibrils were different. Conclusion ITS2 is a rapid and efficient method to identify P. notoginseng and P. vietnamensis var. fuscidicus. HPLC analysis indicated that pharmacological action might be different between P. notoginseng and P. vietnamensis var. fuscidicus.

Rechargeable aluminum-ion batteries (RAIBs) are regarded as the next generation of low-cost and high-capacity electrical energy storage systems. Compared to graphene-based cathodes, metal dichalcogenide cathodes can potentially provide RAIBs with higher capacities. However, metal dichalcogenides suffer from poor cycling performance, hindering the further development of high-capacity RAIBs. Thus, to further improve the performance of RAIBs, it is imperative to gain a deep understanding of the mechanisms behind the energy-storage and capacity-deterioration characteristics of these materials. In this work, we conducted detailed characterization to acquire a deep understanding of the energy storage mechanism of a CoSe2-based cathode. The characterization results revealed that energy storage involved incorporation of Al3+ into CoSe2 to generate AlmConSe2 (i.e., partial substitution of Co2+ by Al3+) and elemental Co, while capacity deterioration resulted from the dissolution of active cobalt species into the electrolyte and the pulverization of the CoSe2 phase. The understanding of the capacity-deterioration mechanism allowed us to design a two-step concept for a new type of RAIB composite cathode material. Thus, we employed a conductive wrapping layer of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) to protect CoSe2/carbon nanodice composites from cobalt dissolution and CoSe2 pulverization while also improving the conductivity of the materials. This novel design resulted in a CoSe2/carbon nanodice@rGO composite material with an outstanding cycling performance (after 500 cycles) of 143 mA h g−1 at 1000 mA g−1, which is one of the best performances for a metal-based RAIB cathode material reported to date. These findings are of great significance for the further development of high-capacity RAIBs.

Designing electrocatalysts for hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) in alkaline media is crucial but challenging. Among all available electrocatalysts, Ni-based materials are recognized as the most potential precious-metal-free electrocatalysts for HOR. However, they still suffer from serious problems including low activity and poor stability. In this work, a synergistic chemical anchoring and electronic structure regulation strategy is proposed to gain both high electrocatalytic activity and stability for Ni-based HOR catalyst. N-doped graphite nanoflakes (N-GFs) support with abundant N anchoring sites can stabilize the loading of Ni-based active species, giving rise to an excellent stability of the catalyst. Meanwhile, the rationally designed heterostructure in the active Ni3N/Ni can trigger the electron transfer across the heterointerface, which optimizes the binding energy of the reaction intermediates, resulting in an accelerated the Volmer reaction. Benefited from the rational design, Ni3N/Ni/N-GFs exhibits excellent mass activity (42.7 A gNi-1 at the overpotential of 50 mV) and stability (more than 24 h continuous operation). Moreover, the Ni3N/Ni heterostructure performs better in HOR electrocatalysis than individual Ni or Ni3N. These experimental results are rationalized by the theoretical simulations, which demonstrate that the heterostructure effectively weakens the hydrogen adsorption, optimizes the hydroxyl adsorption, and decreases the water formation reaction barrier.

Polythiophene (Pth) is a good candidate cathode material for aluminum ion battery (AIB) because of its lightness, safety, plasticity and flexibility. However, it always manifests inferior stability. Herein, a stable Pth-based cathode is realized through the anchoring effect between Pth and carboxyl. Pth with a thin film morphology is in situ synthesized on the surface of carboxylated carbon nanotubes (CNT-COOH). As a support, CNT-COOH not only alleviates the agglomeration of Pth that provides abundant transport channels for ions and electrons simultaneously, but also enhances the stability of Pth through the anchoring effect. As a result, the prepared Pth/CNT-COOH composite exhibits high discharge capacity (113 mAh g−1 at 1 A g−1), outstanding rate performance (95 mAh g−1 at 5 A g−1) and stable cycle stability (10,000 cycles with 0.001% decay per cycle). This work realizes a promising Pth-based AIBs with high capacity and long lifespan, which paves the way to the applications of organic materials in AIBs.

Based on the gradual transformation from wild growth to artificial cultivation, the accurate authentication of licorice seeds contributes to the first committed step of its quality control and is pivotal to ensure the clinical efficacy of licorice. However, it is still challenging to obtain genetically stable licorice germplasm resources due to the multi-source, multi-heterozygous, polyploid, and hybrid characteristics of licorice seeds. Here, a new method for determining the heterozygosity of licorice seed mixture, based on the various sites, and finding the composition characteristics of licorice seed is preliminarily designed and proposed. Namely, high-throughput full-length multiple DNA barcodes(HFMD), based on ITS multi-copy variation exist, the full-length amplicons of ITS2, psbA-trnH and ITS are directly sequenced by rDNA through the next-generation sequence(NGS) and single-molecule real-time (SMRT) technologies. By comparing the three sequencing methods, our results proved that SMRT sequencing successfully identified the complete gradients of complex mixed samples with the best performance. Meanwhile, HFMD is a brilliant and feasible method for evaluating the heterozygosity of licorice seeds. It shows a perfect interpretation of DNA barcoding and can be applied in multi-base multi-heterozygous and polyploid species.

LCC-VSC hybrid multi terminal HVDC system combines the advantages of traditional HVDC and flexible HVDC technology, and becomes one of the new directions of HVDC development. In this paper, taking the Baihetan Jiangsu HVDC transmission project as an example, under the appropriate simplified model, the critical electrical stresses of the DC side faults of a typical LCC-VSC hybrid multi-terminal DC system are analyzed. The simulation results verify the correctness of the simplified analysis in this paper.

In this article, we prove that the Swan conductor of an \'etale sheaf on a smooth variety defined by Abbes and Saito's logarithmic ramification theory can be computed by its classical Swan conductors after restricting it to curves. It extends the same result for rank 1 sheaves due to Barrientos. As an application, we give a logarithmic ramification version of generalizations of Deligne and Laumon's lower semi-continuity property for Swan conductors of \'etale sheaves on relative curves to higher relative dimensions in a geometric situation., Comment: 26 pages. Ephedrae Herba and Ephedrae Radix et Rhizoma (Mahuang) have been used as Chinese herbal medicines. Ephedra plants mainly live in deserts and have good governance of desertification. Despite their important medicinal and environmental protection value, dietary supplements containing ephedrine from Ephedra species may threaten the health of people. Morphological resemblance amongst species causes difficulty in identifying the original species of Ephedra herbs. Chloroplast (CP) genome shows good prospects in identification and phylogenetic analysis. This study introduced the structures of the CP genomes of three Ephedra species and analysed their phylogenetic relationships. Three complete CP genomes of Ephedra showed four-part annular structures, namely, two single-copy regions and two inverted repeat regions. The entire CP genomes of three Ephedra species in terms of size were 109,550 bp (E. sinica), 109,667 bp (E. intermedia), and 109,558 bp (E. equisetina). Each CP genome of the three Ephedra species encoded 118 genes, including 73 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes and 8 ribosomal RNA genes. Eleven high-variation regions were screened through mVISTA to be potential specific DNA barcodes for identifying Ephedra species. Maximum likelihood and maximum parsimony trees showed that CP genomes could be used to identify Ephedra species. The Ephedra species had a close phylogenetic relationship with Gnetum species and Welwitschia mirabilis. This research provided valuable information for the identification and phylogenetic analysis of gymnosperms and drug safety of Ephedra.

Background Primary familial brain calcification (PFBC) is a rare calcifying disorder of the brain with extensive clinical and genetic heterogeneity. Its prevalence is underestimated due to clinical selection bias (compared with symptomatic PFBC patients, asymptomatic ones are less likely to undergo genetic testing). Methods A total of 273 PFBC probands were enrolled in a multicenter retrospective cohort study by two different approaches. In Group I (nonsystematic approach), 37 probands diagnosed at our clinic were enrolled. In Group II (systematic approach), 236 probands were enrolled by searching the medical imaging databases of 50 other hospitals using specific keywords. Genetic testing of four genes known to be causative of autosomal dominant PFBC was performed in all probands using cDNA. All identified variants were further confirmed using genomic DNA and classified according to ACMG-AMP recommendations. Results Thirty-two variants including 22 novel variants were detected in 37 probands. Among these probands, 83.8% (31/37) were asymptomatic. Two probands with homozygous pathogenic SLC20A2 variants presented more severe brain calcification and symptoms. Based on the variant detection rate of probands in Group II, we extrapolated an overall minimal prevalence of PFBC of 6.6 per 1,000, much higher than previously reported (2.1 per 1000). Conclusions We identified a higher proportion of genetically confirmed PFBC probands who were asymptomatic. These patients would be overlooked due to clinical selection bias, leading to underestimation of the disease prevalence. Considering that PFBC patients with biallelic variants had more severe phenotypes, this specific condition should be focused on in genetic counseling.

A quantum spin liquid (QSL) is a state of matter where unpaired electrons' spins in a solid are quantum entangled, but do not show magnetic order in the zero-temperature limit. Because such a state may be important to the microscopic origin of high-transition temperature superconductivity and useful for quantum computation, the experimental realization of QSL is a long-sought goal in condensed matter physics. Although neutron scattering experiments on the two-dimensional (2D) spin-1/2 kagome-lattice ZnCu3(OD)6Cl2 and effective spin-1/2 triangular lattice YbMgGaO4 have found evidence for a continuum of magnetic excitations, the hallmark of a QSL carrying 'fractionalized quantum excitations', at very low temperature, magnetic and nonmagnetic site chemical disorder complicates the interpretation of the data. Recently, the three-dimensional (3D) Ce3+ pyrochlore lattice Ce2Sn2O7 has been suggested as a clean, effective spin-1/2 QSL candidate, but there is no evidence of a spin excitation continuum. Here we use thermodynamic, muon spin relaxation ({\mu} SR), and neutron scattering experiments on single crystals of Ce2Zr2O7, a compound isostructural to Ce2Sn2O7, to demonstrate the absence of magnetic ordering and the presence of a spin excitation continuum at 35 mK, consistent with the expectation of a QSL. Since our neutron diffraction and diffuse scattering measurements on Ce2Zr2O7 reveal no evidence of oxygen deficiency and magnetic/nonmagnetic ion disorder as seen in other pyrochlores, Ce2Zr2O7 may be the first example of a 3D QSL material with minimum magnetic and nonmagnetic chemical disorder.

Quantum critical points often arise in metals perched at the border of an antiferromagnetic order. The recent observation of singular and dynamically scaling charge conductivity in an antiferromagnetic quantum critical heavy fermion metal implicates beyond-Landau quantum criticality. Here we study the charge and spin dynamics of a Kondo destruction quantum critical point (QCP), as realized in an SU(2)-symmetric Bose-Fermi Kondo model. We find that the critical exponents and scaling functions of the spin and single-particle responses of the QCP in the SU(2) case are essentially the same as those of the large-N limit, showing that $1/N$ corrections are subleading. Building on this insight, we demonstrate that the charge responses at the Kondo destruction QCP are singular and obey $\omega/T$ scaling. Due to the high theoretical volume specific capacity and mass specific capacity of aluminum-ion batteries, they can meet the needs of contemporary society for high-performance energy storage devices, and have attracted a lot of research strength. Cathode materials are a key issue limiting the development of aluminum-ion batteries. Herein, polythiophene was prepared on the surface of carbon microspheres by in-situ oxidative polymerization, resulting in polythiophene carbon microsphere composite materials. It exhibits excellent electrochemical performance, as a cathode material for aluminum-ion batteries, in terms of a high specific capacity (106 mAh g−1 at a current density of 1 A g−1), good stability (maintaining 58 % of initial capacity after 10000 cycles) and excellent rate performance (90 mAh g−1 at a high current density of 3.5 A g−1).

Lithium-ion capacitors (LIC) have problems such as the imbalance of electrochemical kinetics between the battery-type anode and the capacitive cathode, and the large change in the working potential of the hard carbon anode during charge and discharge, which limit the improvement of electrochemical performance for LIC. To solve these problems, CoSe2 nanoparticles embedded nitrogen-doped hard carbon microspheres (NCS-CoSe2) are synthesized and used as the anode material of LIC. Electrochemical tests show that NCS-CoSe2 has a reversible specific capacity of as high as 500 mAh g−1 at a current density of 1 A g−1, which can effectively stabilize the working potential of the anode. At a high working voltage window of 2.2–4.5 V, the potential change of the NCS-CoSe2 anode is as low as 0.35 V, significantly smaller than that of the pure hard carbon (0.87 V). Regarding the electrode kinetics, the NCS-CoSe2 anode is matched with the active carbon cathode well. When the power density rises sharply from 335 W kg−1 to 6700 W kg−1, the energy density of NCS-CoSe2//AC LIC can attain 82 Wh kg−1 (56.9% of initial energy density).

Aluminum-ion battery (AIB) is intriguing for electrochemical power sources due to its potentially high capacity and high safety. However, the most investigated graphitic and metal dichalcogenide cathode materials normally possess moderate capacity and inferior cycling stability, respectively, which limit the performance of current AIBs. Here, we develop a polyaniline (PANI)/ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) composite as a cathode material of AIB using chloroaluminate ionic liquid as an electrolyte. During the charging/discharging process, two obvious platforms are observed at high voltages of 1.1 V and 1.5–1.7 V. The PANI/OMC cathode exhibits outstanding performance in terms of high specific capacity (140 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1), good rate performance (118 mAh g−1 at 2000 mA g−1) and excellent cycling stability (only 12% loss of capacity after 5000 cycles). Based on the ex-situ characterizations, the charge storage of PANI is found to be via the doping/de-doping of anions such as AlCl4−.

From the prehistoric era until the publishing of the Compendium of Materia Medica and the first scientific Nobel Prize in the Chinese mainland for Tu’s discovery on anti-malarial tablets, each milestone and stepping stone in the developmental history of herbal medicine involved intrepid exploration, bold hypothesis formulation, and cautious verification. After thousands of years of discovery and development, herbal research has entered a new era—the era of herbgenomics. Herbgenomics combines herbal and genomic research, bridging the gap between traditional herbal medicine and cutting-edge omics studies. Therefore, it provides a general picture of the genetic background of traditional herbs, enabling researchers to investigate the mechanisms underlying the prevention and treatment of human diseases from an omics perspective.

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy of actual resected liver volume (ARLV) in anatomical liver resections (ALRs) guided by 3-dimensional parenchymal staining using fusion indocyanine green fluorescence imaging (IGFI). METHODS Patients eligible for hepatic resection were enrolled in the current study from January 2016 to November 2017. All patients underwent surgery planning based on Medical Image Three-Dimensional Visualization System (MI-3DVS) before the operation, in which predicted resected liver volumes (PRLVs) were calculated. Under 3-dimensional guidance by fusion IGFI, ALRs were performed and ARLVs were measured. Simple linear regression, intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland-Altman analysis were used to evaluate the relationship and agreement between PRLV and ARLV. RESULTS Of the 27 patients who achieved valid demarcation by fusion IGFI, 12 (44.4%) received hemihepatectomy, while 10 (37.0%) and five (18.5%) underwent sectionectomy and segmentectomy, respectively. The relationship and agreement between PRLV (481.37 ± 189.47 cm³) and ARLV (450.57 ± 205.19 cm³) were then evaluated. The interplay between electronic orders and superconductivity is central to the physics of unconventional superconductors, and is particularly pronounced in the iron-based superconductors. Motivated by recent experiments on FeSe, we study the superconducting pairing in its nematic phase in a multiorbital model with frustrated spin-exchange interactions. The electron correlations in the presence of the nematic order give rise to an enhanced orbital selectivity in the superconducting pairing amplitudes. This orbital-selective pairing produces a large gap anisotropy on the Fermi surface. Frustration in quantum spin systems promote a variety of novel quantum phases. An important example is the frustrated spin-$1$ model on the square lattice with the nearest-neighbor bilinear ($J_1$) and biquadratic ($K_1$) interactions. We provide strong evidence for a nematic spin liquid phase in a range of $K_1/J_1$ near the SU(3)-symmetric point ($J_1 = K_1$), based on the linear flavor-wave theory and extensive density matrix renormalization group calculation. This phase displays no spin dipolar or quadrupolar order, preserves translational symmetry but spontaneously breaks $C_4$ lattice rotational symmetry, and possesses fluctuations peaked at the wavevector $(\pi, 2\pi/3)$. The spin excitation gap drops rapidly with system size and appears to be gapless, and the nematic order is attributed to the dominant $(\pi, 2\pi/3)$ fluctuations. Recently, the singular support and the characteristic cycle of an \'etale sheaf on a smooth variety over a perfect field are constructed by Beilinson and Saito, respectively. In this article, we extend the singular support to a relative situation. As an application, we prove the generic constancy for singular supports and characteristic cycles of \'etale sheaves on a smooth fibration. Amomum villosum is an important medicinal and edible plant with several pharmacologically active volatile oils. However, identifying A. villosum from A. villosum var. xanthioides and A. longiligulare which exhibit similar morphological characteristics to A. villosum, is difficult. The main goal of this study, therefore, is to mine genetic resources and improve molecular methods that could be used to distinguish these species. A total of eight complete chloroplasts (cp) genomes of these Amomum species which were collected from the main producing areas in China were determined to be 163,608&ndash, 164,069 bp in size. All genomes displayed a typical quadripartite structure with a pair of inverted repeat (IR) regions (29,820&ndash, 29,959 bp) that separated a large single copy (LSC) region (88,680&ndash, 88,857 bp) from a small single copy (SSC) region (15,288&ndash, 15,369 bp). Each genome encodes 113 different genes with 79 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and four rRNA genes. More than 150 SSRs were identified in the entire cp genomes of these three species. The Sanger sequencing results based on 32 Amomum samples indicated that five highly divergent regions screened from cp genomes could not be used to distinguish Amomum species. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the cp genomes could not only accurately identify Amomum species, but also provide a solid foundation for the establishment of phylogenetic relationships of Amomum species. The availability of cp genome resources and the comparative analysis is beneficial for species authentication and phylogenetic analysis in Amomum.

Background Liver cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death worldwide. The hepatectomy is the most effective and the only potentially curative treatment for patients with resectable neoplasm. Precisely preoperative assessment of remnant liver volume is essential in preventing postoperative liver failure. The aim of our study is to report our experience of using a medical image three dimensional (3D) visualization system (MI-3DVS), which was developed by our team, in assisting hepatectomy for patients with liver cancer. Methods Between January 2010 and June 2016, 69 patients with liver cancer underwent hepatic resection based on the MI-3DVS were enrolled in this study. All patients underwent CT scan 5 days before the surgery and within 5 days after resection. CT images were reconstructed with the MI-3DVS to assist to perform hepatectomy. Simple linear regression, intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland-Altman analysis were used to evaluate the relationship and agreement between actual excisional liver volume (AELV) and predicted excisional liver volume (PELV). Results Among 69 patients in this study, 62(89.85%) of them were diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma by histopathologic examination, and 41(59.42%) underwent major hepatectomy. The average AELV was 330.13 cm 3 and the average PELV was 287.67 cm 3 .
