A novel gate-voltage-modulated strategy based on FET biosensors is developed to comprehensively improve the detection performance of telomerase.

In order to analyze the vibration characteristics of mistuned multistage bladed disks of an aero-engine compressor, a finite element reduction model of mistuned multistage bladed disks is established based on substructure modal synthesis method. The accuracy of the substructure model was verified by comparing calculation accuracy of the substructure model and the integral model. The influence of different modal truncation numbers on the calculation results are discussed. The vibration modes of each stage of the bladed disks are obtained, the forced response is analyzed from the perspective of strain energy. The result shows that modal truncation number, rotation softening effect, and speed have significant effects on the dynamic frequency calculation results of the multistage bladed disks. The typical mode shapes of the first 200 orders of multistage bladed disks are obtained. With the increase of mistuning standard deviation, the strain energy of multistage bladed disk system decreases gradually.

In order to clarify the solvent extraction and separation behaviors of rare earths and impurity of Al during the extraction and enrichment of low-concentration leach solution of ion-adsorption rare earth ore, the extraction mechanism and separation behaviors of Nd3+ and Al3+ in the Nd2(SO4)3–Al2(SO4)3 mixed solution using P507 were studied in this work. The extraction of Nd3+ and Al3+ follows the cation exchange mechanism. With the increase of the equilibrium pH, βNd/Al in the extraction of the Nd2(SO4)3–Al2(SO4)3 mixed solution using P507 is always higher than that in the extraction of single Nd2(SO4)3 and Al2(SO4)3 solutions. It can be attributed to the fact that the extraction of Nd3+ using P507 is much faster than that of Al3+, and Al3+ is more prone to be hydrolyzed at lower pH. βNd/Al in the extraction of the Nd2(SO4)3–Al2(SO4)3 mixed solution decreases gradually with the increase of mixing time within the equilibrium pH range of 1.5–1.9. The extraction of Nd3+ using P507 is much faster than that of Al3+, but the stability of Al3+-loaded organic phase is better than that of Nd3+-loaded organic phase, thus Nd3+ in the Nd3+-loaded organic phase is gradually replaced by Al3+ in the aqueous phase with the increase of mixing time.

Subsurface organic ameliorant plus polyethylene mulching is a novel strategy for saline soil improvement and utilization in China. However, little is known about how this strategy impacts soil organic carbon (SOC) both directly (carbon input) and indirectly (soil aggregates protection and microbial regulation). In situ refractive index sensors integrated with nanoaperture-based optical tweezers possess stable and sensitive responsivity to single nanoparticles. In most existing works, detection events are only identified using the total light intensity with directivity information ignored, leading to a low signal-to-noise ratio. Here, we propose to detect an optically trapped 20 nm silica particle by monitoring directivity of a plasmonic antenna. The main and secondary radiation lobes of the antenna reverse upon trapping because the particle-induced perturbation negates the relative phase between two antenna elements, leading to a significant change of the antenna front-to-back ratio. As a result, we obtain a signal-to-noise ratio of 20, with an order-of-magnitude improvement as compared to the intensity-only detection scheme.

Although lithium metal (Li) has been considered as the ideal anode material for next generation batteries, its practical applications are hindered by detrimental dendrite growth due to non-uniform Li deposition. It is reported that the substrate materials and their lattice mismatch have significant roles on Li nucleation. However, the defects such as dislocations resulted from the applied strain on substrate materials, have been seldomly investigated. Hence, strained copper current collectors (CuCCs) are used as the substrate to investigate the defects (mainly dislocations) on the nucleation and growth behaviors of Li. It is found that the variation of dislocation density and structure can significantly influence the nucleation behaviors of Li. The increase of dislocation density can effectively reduce the nucleation energy barrier and favors the uniform nucleation of Li. The lowered nucleation energy barrier and critical nuclei size promote the subsequent growth of Li. The subsequent growth of Li embryos on CuCCs with 5% strain becomes orderly and forms the compact Li thin film through intergranular fusion rather than the generation of dendrites via 1D growth. As anodes in both half and symmetric cells, the compact deposited Li layer exhibits high Coulombic efficiencies and long cycling stability indicating its great potential as a stable Li metal anode.

In order to address the problems of redundancy and waste of resources in the deployment of monitoring points in mesoscale chemical hazard areas, we propose a method for the deployment of monitoring points in mesoscale chemical hazard areas by combining weight and fireworks algorithms. Taking the mesoscale chemical hazard monitoring area as the research background, we take the probabilistic sensing model of telemetry sensor nodes as the research object, make a reasonable grid division of the mesoscale monitoring area, calculate the importance of each grid and perform clustering, utilize the diversity of the fireworks algorithm and the rapidity of the solution to solve the monitoring point deployment model and discuss the relevant factors affecting the deployment scheme. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve the optimal coverage monitoring for monitoring areas with different importance and reduce the number of monitoring nodes and redundancy; meanwhile, the relevant factors such as the grid edge length, the number of clusters, and the average importance of monitoring areas have different degrees of influence on the complexity of the algorithm and the deployment scheme.
