Nature-based solutions (NBS) can help tackle climate change and advance urban sustainability by using nature to deliver social, ecological and economic benefits. However, their success largely depend on implementation for which several barriers exist. For NBS to be meaningful in terms of delivering positive impacts in cities, we need better understanding of how implementation is embedded in NBS frameworks. The aim of this paper is to i) understand how frameworks address implementation, and ii) extract and synthesize key elements and conditions required for enabling the implementation process. Taking a hermeneutic approach, the paper makes use of pre-understanding to interpret and analyse 'the whole' and 'the parts' of the implementation process and discuss how the discourse on NBS implementation could advance towards more operational understanding. This paper suggests that multi-stakeholder collaboration and co-creation of knowledge are important prerequisites for shared understanding of problems, developing actionable knowledge and adapting NBS to site-specific societal challenges. Advancing knowledge about the NBS implementation process is relevant for capacity building and governance of NBS at the local level and bridging policy areas, stakeholders and the knowledge needed to make NBS become relevant to broader society. However, more research is needed to i) move beyond conceptual propositions and towards operational understanding of NBS principles and ii) improve the understanding of how local collaboration and co-creation of knowledge can enhance capacity building and support implementation of NBS. • Few frameworks for NBS address implementation. • Collaboration and co-development of knowledge are key elements in the NBS implementation process. • The NBS concept must be integrated at different scales of urban planning. • Future frameworks for NBS should address both experimentation and formal planning processes. Background: Evidence suggests that the effect of 0.12% chlorhexidine (CHX) use for oral care on the development of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) and ventilator-associated tracheobronchitis (VAT) is lacking. Evidence-based approaches to the prevention of VAP and VAT are of paramount importance for improving patients' outcomes. Objectives: This study aimed to (1) compare the effect of 0.12% CHX use for oral care on preventing VAP and VAT with the placebo group, as well as (2) compare its effect on oral health and prevention of oral microbial colonization with the placebo group. Methods: Prospective, single-blinded, randomized controlled trial performed in 2 intensive care units at a hospital. The sample comprised 57 mechanically ventilated adults randomly allocated to the 0.12% CHX group and the placebo group. Barnason's oral assessment guide was used to evaluate the oral health of both groups before oral care during the first 24 hr of tracheal intubation (Day 0) and at Day 2 and Day 3. Oropharyngeal secretion, endotracheal tube aspirate, and nonbronchoscopic bronchoalveolar lavage samples were collected on Day 0 and Day 3. Results: The rate of VAT development was not statistically different between the groups (p =.318). However, a significant difference existed in the rate of VAP development (p =.043). The frequency of oropharyngeal colonization significantly decreased in the 0.12% CHX group compared with the placebo group at Day 3 (p =.001). Conclusion: The use of 0.12% CHX for oral care could be effective for VAP prevention and reducing microbial colonization in mechanically ventilated patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of the study was to develop a Turkish version of the Hypertension Self-care Profile and to examine its reliability and validity. The sample consisted of 200 adults with hypertension. Internal consistency was estimated by calculating the Cronbach alpha coefficient and item-total score correlation regarding item reliability. The test–retest reliability for estimating the stability was estimated using intraclass correlation coefficient. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used for the factor construct validity. Internal consistency reliability coefficients ranged from 0.937 to 0.942. The test–retest reliability was between 0.730 and 0.766. Item-total correlations had a range of 0.491 to 0.758. Single factor with an eigenvalue >1 was extracted for each scale. The Turkish version of the Hypertension Self-care Profile has been successfully translated and cross-culturally adapted to Turkish population. • No scale instrument exists in Turkey, which is adapted to the language and culture and evaluates comprehensive domains of hypertension self-care of the adults. • The Turkish Hypertension Self-care Profile is a valid and reliable scale that can be used for evaluating self-care based on self-reporting by adults with hypertension, especially those whose literacy level is low. • The scale can be used in the management of hypertension care and in the assessment of the self-care of hypertensive individuals in education and monitoring programs by health care providers. • Health care providers can help the patient to perform self-care adequately. Adherence to drug treatment is a multidimensional concept. It is affected by many factors, such as physiological, psychological, family, environmental and social conditions. However, relatively little is known about the relationship between adherence to medication and psychosocial adjustment. The aim was to explore the relationship between adherence to antidiabetic drugs and the psychosocial adjustment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This cross-sectional descriptive correlational study was conducted between March and June 2018. A convenience sample of participants was recruited from seven internal disease outpatient clinics at a public tertiary hospital, located in a large city that serves as a gateway to nearby rural and urban areas in the north-west region of Turkey. Data were collected using the Adherence to Refills and Medications Scale (ARMS-7), and the Psychosocial Adjustment to Illness Scale–Self Report (PAIS–SR). This study is reported in accordance with STROBE. Pearson's correlation analysis found a significant weak positive correlation between all domains of the PAIS–SR and the total scores on the ARMS‐7. The participants' scores on medication refill were found to be significantly and positively correlated with all of the PAIS–SR domain scores except the sexual relationships domain. Psychosocial care could play a crucial role in improving drug regimen adherence among patients with diabetes. Therefore, nurses should integrate psychosocial care into daily practice.
