We confirmed the occurrence and report some ecological traits of the yellow-bellied toad, Bombina variegata from Turkish Thrace. The specimens were caught in April 2016 from ponds and several streams of Karacahasan Mountain, Enez District, Edirne Province. In order to determine and confirm its systematic position, we genetically analysed the tissue samples of caught specimens. We also present some behavioural data of the species. Mahmudov (2012, 2013) introduced and investigated some q-extensions of the q-Bernoulli polynomials 픅(ɑ) n,q(x, y) of order ɑ, the q- Euler polynomials E n,q(ɑ)(x, y) of order ɑ, andthe q-Genocchi polynomials G n,q(ɑ)(x, y) of order ɑ. In this paper, we give some identities for픅(ɑ) n,q(x, y), Gn,q(ɑ)(x, y), and En,q(ɑ)(x, y) and the recurrence relations between these polynomials. Background: Eczema is one of the most prevalent occupational skin diseases, with sea fishers being particularly vulnerable due to their harsh working conditions., Objective: This study aimed to assess the prevalence of occupational eczema among fishers and identify risk factors contributing to its development., Methods: A total of 119 fishers participated in this cross-sectional study, which was conducted in a single center on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. Data were collected using two instruments: a "General Characteristics of Fishers Form," developed by the researchers based on relevant literature, and the Turkish version of the Nordic Occupational Skin Questionnaire-Long (NOSQ-2002/Long). Univariable analysis of eczema status was performed using the chi-square test, while a multivariable binary logistic regression model assessed the factors associated with eczema., Results: All participants were male, with a mean age of 40.13 (±11.62) years. The median daily working time was 15 (12-16) hours, and their median experience in fishing was 17 (10-25) years. The prevalence of eczema in the last six months was 52.9% (n = 63). Significant risk factors for eczema included being under 40 years of age, being married, poor health status, and having a family member who was a fisher., Conclusion: This study highlights the high prevalence of eczema among sea fishers and identifies work-related risk factors that contribute to its development. Phenomenon: Physician immigration from other countries is increasing as developed countries continue to be desirable destinations for physicians; however, the determinants of Turkish physicians' migration decisions are still unclear. Despite its wide coverage in the media and among physicians in Türkiye, and being the subject of much debate, there is insufficient data to justify this attention. With this study, we aimed to investigate the tendency of senior medical students in Türkiye to pursue their professional careers abroad and its related factors. Approach: This cross-sectional study involved 9881 senior medical students from 39 different medical schools in Türkiye in 2022. Besides participants' migration decision, we evaluated the push and pull factors related to working, social environment and lifestyle in Türkiye and abroad, medical school education inadequacy, and personal insufficiencies, as well as the socioeconomic variables that may affect the decision to migrate abroad. The analyses were carried out with a participation rate of at least 50%. Findings: Of the medical students, 70.7% had emigration intentions. Approximately 60% of those want to stay abroad permanently, and 61.5% of them took initiatives such as learning a foreign language abroad (54.5%) and taking relevant exams (18.9%). Those who wanted to work in the field of Research & Development were 1.37 (95% CI: 1.22-1.54) times more likely to emigrate. The push factor that was related to emigration intention was the "working conditions in the country" (OR: 1.89, 95% CI: 1.56-2.28) whereas the "social environment/lifestyle abroad" was the mere pull factor for the tendency of emigration (OR: 1.73, 95% CI: 1.45-2.06). In addition, the quality problem in medical schools also had a significant impact on students' decisions (OR: 2.20, 95% CI: 1.83-2.65). Insights: Although the percentage of those who want to emigrate "definitely" was at the same level as in the other developing countries, the tendency to migrate "permanently" was higher in Türkiye. Improving working conditions in the country and increasing the quality of medical faculties seem vital in preventing the migration of physicians.

Purpose: This study aimed to explore depression and quality of life (QoL) factors among caregivers of patients with cancer and to better understand who the caregivers are and how caregiving affects them., Methods: This descriptive study was conducted at the Medical Oncology Department of Cukurova University, Balcali Hospital. The study consisted of 150 cancer patients' caregivers who had been treated between September 1 and October 15, 2015. Percent distribution was used to evaluate the sociodemographic characteristics of caregivers. One way ANOVA, t-test and frequencies were used for other analyses. A p value <0.05 was considered statistically significant., Results: Of the caregivers, 42.7% (n=64) were male, 67.3% (n=101) were married, 30% (n=45) had university education, and their mean age was 40.1±13.7 years. Also, 36% were offspring of the cancer patients. Of caregivers 51.3% were sharing the caregiving process with someone else. The mean value of Beck depression inventory (BDI) was 14.08±10.9 (min-max, 0-55). According to the values of the inventory, 42% were normal, 24.7% were mildly, 20.7% were moderately and 12.7% were severely depressed. A significant association was found between BDI and overall QoL (WHOQOL-Bref) for all domains (p<0.001)., Conclusion: We believe that these results are a step toward identifying the associated factors for reducing caregivers' depression and ameliorating their QoL.
