104. Examination of an extended sociocultural model of lifestyle physical activity among men and women

Author(s): Ying Ling [sup.1] , Anqi Zheng [sup.1] , Qingqing Li [sup.1] , Min Huang [sup.2] , Shiqing Song [sup.1] , Hong Chen [sup.1] Author Affiliations: (1) grid.263906.8, 0000 0001 [...], Previously, lots of evidence has supported that sociocultural pressure and body image can predict people&apos;s participation of exercise, yet only a few studies have examined their impact on lifestyle physical activity (PA), which has been proven to be as effective as structured exercise in health and weight management. The study aims to examine an extended sociocultural model by using multi-dimensional body image concerns and objectively measured lifestyle PA data from a large sample. The study included 1557 young adults (68.10% female) aged 18-26 years. Sociocultural pressure and body image concerns were assessed using Perceived Sociocultural Pressure Scale (PSPS) and Negative Physical Self Scale (NPSS). Five-days&apos; lifestyle PA was measured objectively by accelerometer. Results indicated that the relationship between women&apos; s PSPS and light PA was fully mediated through their fatness concern (indirect effect = -.22, p < .05) and facial appearance concern (indirect effect = -.25, p < .05). The relationship between men&apos;s PSPS and light PA was fully mediated by their fatness concern (indirect effect = -.19, p < .05). In addition, men&apos;s fatness concern as well as their shortness concern emerged as two significant mediators for the relationship between PSPS and time spent in moderate-vigorous PA (fatness: indirect effect = .19, p < .01; shortness: indirect effect = .17, p < .01). The study supports the sociocultural model as an explanatory model for lifestyle PA behavior, and suggests that unchangeable domains of body image might be the stronger mediators of the relationship between sociocultural pressures and PA behavior.

105. Metabolomics analysis of flower color substances in three Rosa rugosa cultivars

Abstract

Rosa rugosa is a deciduous shrub belonging to Rosa L. in Rosaceae. It has a high ornamental value and commercial value, but its single color limits the development and utilization of rose and its application in landscape architecture. In order to explore the coloring substances of three different varieties of roses, ‘Rosa rugosa × Rosa sertata’, ‘Rosa Crimson Glory’ and ‘Rosa alba’, this study used ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS) to detect the types and contents of flavonoids in petals. The KEGG database was used to enrich the differential metabolites, screen out the key metabolites, and analyze the correlation with the phenotypic value of flower color. The results were as follows: (1) A total of 58 metabolites were detected in the petals of three different color rose varieties, of which only one anthocyanin was cyanidin-3-O-glucoside, accounting for 30.45%. (2) K-means clustering analysis showed that a total of 12 key metabolites were annotated to the KEGG metabolic pathway. Among them, pinocembrin and myricetin were the main substances that determined the red color of ‘Rosa rugosa × Rosa sertata’ and ‘Rosa Crimson Glory’, and eriodictyol, luteolin and kaempferol were the main substances that determined the white color of ‘Rosa alba’. In conclusion, this study can provide a theoretical basis for the breeding of roses with specific colors and promote the application of roses in landscaping.

Abstract

Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology is a mature technology that contested other wireless technologies in the advent of the IoT but did not achieve the same levels of widespread adoption. In recent years, however, with its potential as a wireless ranging and localization solution, it has regained momentum. Within the robotics field, UWB positioning systems are being increasingly adopted for localizing autonomous ground or aerial robots. In the Industrial IoT (IIoT) domain, its potential for ad-hoc networking and simultaneous positioning is also being explored. This survey overviews the state-of-the-art in UWB networking and localization for robotic and autonomous systems. We also cover novel techniques focusing on more scalable systems, collaborative approaches to localization, ad-hoc networking, and solutions involving machine learning to improve accuracy. This is, to the best of our knowledge, the first survey to put together the robotics and IIoT perspectives and to emphasize novel ranging and positioning modalities. Abstract

In this study, the Cutaneotrichosporon dermatis strain M503 was isolated and could efficiently degrade tetracycline, doxycycline, and chlorotetracyline. The characteristics of tetracycline degradation were investigated under a broad range of cultural conditions. Response surface methodology (RSM) predicted that the highest degradation rate of tetracycline could be obtained under the following conditions: 39.69 °C, pH of 8.79, and inoculum dose of 4.0% (v/v, ~3.5 × 106 cells/mL in the medium). In accordance with the five identified degradation products of tetracycline, two putative degradation pathways, which included the shedding of methyl and amino groups, were proposed. Moreover, the well diffusion method showed that the strain of M503 decreases the antibacterial potency of tetracycline, doxycycline, and chlorotetracycline. These findings proposed a putative mechanism of tetracycline degradation by a fungus strain and contributed to the estimation of the fate of tetracycline in the aquatic environment.

143. Localization in Unstructured Environments: Towards Autonomous Robots in Forests with Delaunay Triangulation

Abstract

Autonomous harvesting and transportation is a long-term goal of the forest industry. One of the main challenges is the accurate localization of both vehicles and trees in a forest. Forests are unstructured environments where it is difficult to find a group of significant landmarks for current fast feature-based place recognition algorithms. This paper proposes a novel approach where local observations are matched to a general tree map using the Delaunay triangularization as the representation format. Instead of point cloud based matching methods, we utilize a topology-based method. First, tree trunk positions are registered at a prior run done by a forest harvester. Second, the resulting map is Delaunay triangularized. Third, a local submap of the autonomous robot is registered, triangularized and matched using triangular similarity maximization to estimate the position of the robot. We test our method on a dataset accumulated from a forestry site at Lieksa, Finland. A total length of 2100\,m of harvester path was recorded by an industrial harvester with a 3D laser scanner and a geolocation unit fixed to the frame. Our experiments show a 12\,cm s.t.d. in the location accuracy and with real-time data processing for speeds not exceeding 0.5\,m/s. The accuracy and speed limit is realistic during forest operations.
