Self-assemblyof multiple components into well-defined and predictablestructures remains one of the foremost challenges in chemistry. Here,upon subtle ligand variation, we reported on the assembly of threenew polyoxometalate-based organic–inorganic hybrid compoundswith different helical channel, [Ag3(H2pyttz-I)2][PMo12O40] (1), [Ag6(H2pyttz-II)4][CoW12O40]·2H2O (2), and [Ag7(Hpyttz-II)3(H2pyttz-II)][GeW12O40]·7H2O (3) (H2pyttz-I/II= 4-/3-pyrid-5-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)-1,2,4-triazolyl,POM = polyoxometalates). X-ray diffraction analysis shows that compound 1is constructed by “butterfly-like” Ag5(H2pyttz-I)2subunits and POMs clusters,which are assembled into close helical channels impregnated with thecomponents selves. Both compounds 2and 3are constructed by “paddle-wheel like” Ag4(H2pyttz-II)4motifs and POMs clusters, whichbring into being the larger helical channels (10.5% and 12.5% of thecell volume, respectively). Note that the only difference in compounds 2and 3is that the former contains 1D metal–organicchain structure, and the latter contains 2D metal–organic layerstructure. Ziziphi Spinosae Semen(ZSS) is an edible TCM derived from the dried ripe seeds of Ziziphus jujube Mill. var. spinosa(Bunge)Hu ex H. F. Chou(Rhamnaceae), which has the effects of nourishing the heart, tonifying the liver, calming the heart, tranquilizing the mind, arresting sweating, and promoting fluid production, and is widely used in the treatment and health care of diseases related to cardiovascular, nervous, and immune systems. Jujuboside B(JuB), one of the main active ingredients of ZSS, possesses various pharmacological effects with application values. This paper reviewed the chemical structure and pharmacological effects of JuB. JuB has sedative, hypnotic, antitumor, anti-platelet, anti-inflammatory, and other biological activities, which shows the potential thera-peutic effects on insomnia, tumors, coronary artery disease, airway inflammation, and liver injury. However, there are some limitations to the results of current studies. More comprehensive studies, including basic research and clinical trials, need to be carried out to provide more reliable evidence.

In the present study, the contents of seven active components [genipinic acid(GA), protocatechuic acid(PCA), neochlorogenic acid(NCA), chlorogenic acid(CA), cryptochlorogenic acid(CCA),(+)-pinoresinol di-O-β-D-glucopyranosid(PDG), and(+)-pinoresinol 4'-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(PG)] of Eucommiae Cortex in aortic vascular endothelial cells of spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHR) were simultaneously determined by ultra-high liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS). The qualified SHR models were selected. The primary aortic endothelial cells(VECs) of rats were separated and cultured by ligation and adherence, followed by subculture. After successful identification, an UPLC-MS/MS method for simultaneously determining the contents of GA, PCA, NCA, CA, CCA, PDG, PG in seven components of Eucommiae Cortex in VECs was established, including specificity, linearity, matrix effect, recovery, accuracy, precision and stability. The established method had the lo-west limit of quantification of 0.97-4.95 μg·L~(-1), accuracy of 87.26%-109.6%, extraction recovery of 89.23%-105.3%, matrix effect of 85.86%-106.2%, and stability of 86.00%-112.5%. Therefore, the established accurate UPLC-MS/MS method could rapidly and simultaneously determine the contents of the seven active components of Eucommiae Cortex in VECs of SHRs, which provided a refe-rence for the study of cellular pharmacokinetics of active components of Eucommiae Cortex extract.

Introduction: For effective preventive strategies against GORD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease), we assessed the GORD burden from 1990 to 2019., Methods: The burden of GORD between 1990 and 2019 was evaluated globally, regionally, and nationally. Using ASIR (age-standardized incidence), ASYLDs (age-standardized years lived with disabilitys), we compared them to the GBD world population per 100,000. The estimates were based on 95% uncertainty intervals (UIs). The AAPC (average annual percent change) in incidence, YLDs, along with prevalence rates with associated 95% CIs were estimated., Results: Data to estimate the burden of GORD are scarce till now. The global ASIR of GORD in 2019 was 3792.79 per 100,000, an increase AAPC of 0.112% from 1990. The prevalence of GORD increased with a AAPC of 0.096% to 9574.45 per 100,000. Global ASYLDs in 2019 was 73.63, an increase AAPC of 0.105% from 1990. The GORD burden varies greatly depending on the development level and geographical location. USA demonstrated the most obvious decreasing trend in burden of GORD, while Sweden had an increasing trend. That the increase in GORD YLDs was mediated primarily by the growth and aging of population, was revealed by decomposition analyses. There was an inverse relationship between SDI (socio-demographic index) and GORD-burden. Frontier analyses revealed significant scope of improvement in the status of development at all levels., Conclusion: GORD is a public health challenge, especially in Latin America. Some SDI quintiles had declining rates, while some countries experienced increased rates. Thus, resources should be allocated for preventative measures based on country-specific estimates., (© 2023. Taking the Minhang District of Shanghai as a typical rapidly urbanizing area, and based on 595 soil samples from 36 plots, the content of eight heavy metals in soils from five different land uses were analyzed. The ecological risk was evaluated using the Nemerow composite index and the potential ecological risk index. The results showed that the variation coefficients of the heavy metals Zn and Cd were highest, and were notably affected by human activities. The content of heavy metals in industrial land soil was relatively high compared to residential land and cultivated land soils, and heavy metal content was lowest in public management and service land soil. The Nemerow composite index of Zn and Cd was high, corresponding to severe and moderate levels of pollution, respectively. The other heavy metals were found at warning or light levels of pollution. The potential ecological risks posed by heavy metals in the soils from different land uses, in descending order, were heavy-metal-related industry land > non-heavy-metal-related industry land≈residential land > cultivated land≈public management and service land. Industrial land had a greater risk of heavy metal pollution due to industrial operations, complex historical production, and widely variable levels of management. Heavy metal accumulation also tended to occur in residential land and cultivated land soils. Therefore, the prevention of soil heavy metal pollution in association with different land uses, and the control of associated risks during redevelopment, are key challenges in rapidly urbanizing area.

In order to standardize the clinical diagnosis and treatment decision-making with traditional Chinese medicine for pa-tients of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) and put the latest clinical study evidence into clinical practice, the international trust-worthy traditional Chinese medicine recommendations( TCM Recs) working group started the compilation of Living Evidence-based Guideline for Combination of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for Treatment of COVID-19 on the basis of the standards and re-quirements of WHO handbook, GRADE and RIGHT. This proposal mainly introduces the formulation methods and processes of the living guidelines in details, such as the composition of the working group, the collection and identification of clinical issues and out-comes, the production of the living systematic review and the consensus of recommendations. The guidelines will continue to monitor the clinical study evidences of TCM in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19, and conduct regular evidence updating, retrieval and screening. When there is new study evidence, the steering committee will evaluate the possibility of the evidence to change clinical practice or previous recommendations, so as to decide whether the recommendations for the guidelines shall be implemented or upda-ted. The main criteria considered in the guideline updating are as follows:(1) There are new high-quality randomized controlled trial(RCT) evidences for TCM uninvolved in the previous edition of the guidelines;(2) as for the TCM involved in the guidelines, living sys-tematic review shows that new evidence may change the direction or strength of the existing recommendations. The specific implementation of the living evidence-based guidelines will take this proposal as the study basis and framework, in order to ensure the standardization of the formulation process and methods. This will be the first exploration of the methodology for living guidelines in the field of TCM.

Aloperine (ALO), a quinolizidine alkaloid extracted from Sophora alopecuroides L., modulates hypertension, ventricular remodeling, and myocardial ischemia. However, few studies have evaluated the effects of ALO on other cardiovascular parameters. Accordingly, in this study, we used a rat model of aconitine-induced ventricular arrhythmia to assess the effects of ALO. Notably, ALO pretreatment delayed the onset of ventricular premature and ventricular tachycardia and reduced the incidence of fatal ventricular fibrillation. Moreover, whole-cell patch-clamp assays in rats' ventricular myocyte showed that ALO (3, 10, and 30 μM) significantly reduced the peak sodium current density of voltage-gated Na + channel currents (I Na ) in a concentration-dependent manner. The gating kinetics characteristics showed that the steady-state activation and recovery curve were shifted in positive direction along the voltage axis, respectively, and the steady-state inactivation curve was shifted in negative direction along the voltage axis, i.e., which was similar to the inhibitory effects of amiodarone. These results indicated that ALO had anti-arrhythmic effects, partly attributed to I Na inhibition. ALO may act as a class I sodium channel anti-arrhythmia agent.

The mineral constituents of the rock sample can be analyzed with in-situ energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analysis technology (In-situ EDXRF), the matrix effect of rock sample will effects on measurement results. The Monte Carlo simulation method is used to conduct fluorescence analysis spectrum with ideal measurement conditions, which provides analytical data for matrix effect research. The measured spectrum of seventeen kinds rock samples are being simulated, which has the same Cu content. Therefore, the influences with matrix effect of rock sample in in-situ EDXRF take Cu element for example. Based on correlation between Cu Kα X-ray intensity and spectral parameters, considering elements similarity of all kinds rock samples, it is found that the variation the Cu Kα X-ray intensity not only by the control of rock elements composition or rock classification. The matrix effect of rock samples must be classified according correlation between Cu Kα X-ray intensity and spectral parameters. After the matrix effect classification, fifteen kinds of rock samples, which belong to the same matrix effect, can be corrected more effective. Based on principal component analysis of similar matrix effect rock samples, it is found that the scattering background, target element K-series X-ray of X-ray tube and its incoherent scatter intensity can be a good description of Cu Kα X-ray intensity which is affected by rock matrix, thus it can be used to correct the Cu element measurement results. Certainly, this technology can also provide reference for matrix effect correction to other elements in rock.

Objective: To observe the effect of Jiedu Sangen Decoction (JSD, consisting of Polygonum cuspidatum, Geum Japonicum Thumnb, Radix Actinidiae Chinensis) on the migration capability of colon cancer CT-26 cells were observed, and on expressions of carcinoma-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) such as transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGF-beta1), matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9), and alpha-smooth muscle actin (alpha-SMA)., Methods: The BALB/C mice were subcutaneously inoculated with colon cancer CT-26 cells (1.2 x 10(6)mL) and then randomly divided into 3 groups, i.e., the normal control group, the model group, the JSD treated group. The effects of three different serums on the migration ability of colon cancer CT-26 cells were observed using Transwell. The expression quantities of TGF-beta1 and MMP-9 in the supernatant of CAFs were detected using ELISA. The mRNA expression quantities of TGF-beta1 and alpha-SMA in CAFs were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR., Results: The number of semi-permeable film cells in the JSD treated group significantly decreased, when compared with the model group, showing statistical significance (P < 0.01). Compared with the model group, the expressions of TGF-beta1 and MMP-9 in the supernatant of CAFs decreased in the JSD treated group at 24 and 48 h, showing statistical difference (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Compared with the model group, the mRNA expressions of TGF-beta1 and alpha-SMA in the JSD treated group obviously decreased, showing statistical difference (P < 0.01)., Conclusion: JSD could decrease expressions of TGF-beta1 and MMP-9 in the supernatant of CAFs, lower mRNA expressions of alpha-SMA and TGF-beta1, which might be possible mechanisms for inhibiting the migration and invasion of tumor cells.
