Background Aims Patients and Methods Results Conclusions Double eyelid blepharoplasty is the most popular cosmetic operation in Asian population. Various surgical techniques have been developed in order to create dynamic eyelid folds with natural‐looking in recent years, but postoperative complications like so‐called sausage‐like appearance have not been resolved completely.To create natural‐looking dynamic folds, we propose a new method imitating the original anatomical structure of congenital double‐eyelid.Eighty‐six patients who underwent the double‐eyelid surgery from June 1st, 2018 to October 31st, 2020 were included in this retrospective study, including 10 males and 76 females, aged 18–39 years (mean 27.4 ± 5.6 years). All the included patients received double eyelid surgery performed by the same senior doctor, using the pretarsal orbicularis oculi muscle‐releasing technique. Patient Reported Outcome Measures questionnaires were administrated to assess the severity of scarring, pain, and asymmetry, as well as functional and appearance issues. Surgical outcome was assessed through objective and subjective evaluation forms (PROM and patient satisfaction rate).Among the 86 patients, 5 were lost during the follow‐up period. The absolute number of enrolled patients is 81. 91.36% of the enrolled patients reported minimal or non‐visible scarring at the double eyelid incision. As to functional and appearance issues, the main problem were asymmetry (12.35%) and the narrowing of the supratarsal crease width (8.64%). No supratarsal depression and “sausage‐like” appearance occurred in this study. 95.1% of patients reported either good or excellent outcome (mean score: 108 of 120) based on analysis of PROM results, and 96.3% of patients reported either high or very high satisfaction (mean score: 96 of 120) for the patient satisfaction assessment.This new surgical method of double‐eyelid blepharoplasty provides comparatively safe and effective results. Although an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) is noted for its good autonomy, concealment and anti-interference ability, errors in its inertial navigation system (INS) inevitably increase over time, leading to positional failure during long-term voyages. Terrain-assisted navigation can help the INS to correct its position. The traditional iterative closest contour point (ICCP) achieves high matching accuracy when the initial position error of the INS is small, but is prone to mismatching when the initial error is large. This study combines ICCP with particle swarm optimization (PSO) to overcome this problem. First, the global optimization ability of PSO is improved by changing the acceleration factor and introducing an artificial bee colony (ABC) onlooker bee greedy search (ABC- ω APSO). Second, the Euclidean distance of ICCP is replaced by the Mahalanobis distance to abate the influence of system error on the matching accuracy. Finally, the initial position error is reduced by rough matching using the ABC- ω APSO, which has global optimization capability. Next, fine matching is performed by ICCP. This two-step process resolves the sensitivity problem of ICCP to the initial position error. The experimental results revealed a good matching effect after the double-matching procedure. When the initial INS errors were 0.55′ to the east and 0.55′ to the north, the matching error was reduced to 89.3 m, suggesting that the approach can realize autonomous passive navigation of AUVs. High-performance relaxor ferroelectrics for energy-storage capacitors have attracted enormous attention, but the difficulty in simultaneously enhancing energy density (Wrec) and efficiency (η) largely hinders their development. Herein, we introduce an effective strategy to collaboratively improve Wrec and η values in NaNbO3-based lead-free relaxor ferroelectric (FE) ceramics through enhancing the antiferrodistortion of the FE superlattice, realizing an excellent comprehensive energy-storage performance of Wrec ∼ 8.5 J cm−3 and η ∼ 90%. Both the local FE orthorhombic supercells with a significantly enhanced antiferrodistortive degree and the formation of highly concentrated stripe-like polar nanodomains should be responsible for the markedly delayed polarization saturation, the suppressed polarization hysteresis and the maintained maximum polarization. These structural features also ensure outstanding temperature-insensitive charge–discharge properties of high-power density ∼343 ± 6% MW cm−3, high discharge energy density ∼4.3 ± 10% J cm−3 and ultra-short discharge time <30 ns at 0–150 °C, demonstrating great application potential in next-generation advanced pulse power capacitors. Chirality is a fundamental characteristic of living organisms and is commonly observed at the biomolecule, cellular, and tissue levels. Chiral nanomaterials play an irreplaceable role in nanomedicine and nanobiology because of their unique enantioselectivity with biological components. Here, research progress relating to chiral nanomaterials in the field of vaccines is reviewed, including antigen presenting systems, immune adjuvants, and cancer vaccines. First, the common synthesis methods are outlined for different types of chiral nanomaterials, as well as their chiral sources, optical properties, and potential biological applications. Then, the application of chiral nanomaterials are discussed in the field of vaccines with reference to the promotion of antigen presentation and activation of the immune system for tumor immunotherapy. Finally, the current obstacles and future research directions of chiral nanomaterials are revealed with regard to regulating the immune system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
