The study is framed in the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, which commit the countries of the world to eliminate all types of gender violence by 2030, aimed to conceptualize and extract the key elements of an intervention strategy to empower women victims of violence. The paper presents an empirical study in three areas of Arequipa with women victims of violence, from the approach of the risk of femicide, information on Law 30364 enacted by Peruvian State to eradicate violence, and obligations of the police. A quasi-experimental design was carried out, with pre-posttest evaluation to experimental-control groups, including 37 educational sessions simultaneously applied to the experimental group at the three sites, with nurses, lawyers and police during the years 2018-2020. The sample includes 300 women, chosen by convenience from 3 vulnerable populations, Zamacola, October 4, Miguel Grau, from neighboring police stations, health facilities and community.

Neuropathic pain is one of the primary forms of chronic pain and is the consequence of the somatosensory system's direct injury or disease. It is a relevant public health problem that affects about 10% of the world's general population. In neuropathic pain, alteration in neurotransmission occurs at various levels, including the dorsal root ganglia, the spinal cord, and the brain, resulting from the malfunction of diverse molecules such as receptors, ion channels, and elements of specific intracellular signaling pathways. In this context, there have been exciting advances in elucidating neuropathic pain's cellular and molecular mechanisms in the last decade, including the possible role that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) may play, which open up new alternatives for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for this condition. This review focuses on recent studies associated with the possible relevance of lncRNAs in the development and maintenance of neuropathic pain through their actions on the functional expression of ion channels. Recognizing the changes in the function and spatio-temporal patterns of expression of these membrane proteins is crucial to understanding the control of neuronal excitability in chronic pain syndromes.

Introduction: Academic satisfaction is an aspect that is perceived by students differently, depending on their perspective, the same which can be positive or negative. Satisfaction lies in the enjoyment and well-being they experience when they receive the different services offered by the University. Objective: To evaluate the level of academic satisfaction of rotating interns of the Nursing career at the Technical University of Ambato (UTA). Methods: The present study has a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental approach with a sample of 139 rotating interns of the Nursing career. Data collection was done through a physical survey for the analysis of the collected data. Results: The study corresponds to 23 male interns and 116 female interns. The level of academic satisfaction is "satisfied" this is moderately acceptable, corresponds to 59% of the students surveyed, followed by 57% of the students responding to the items Teaching Team and Teaching-Learning Method; and Career Infrastructure. Conclusions: At the end of this research it can be evidenced that a large percentage of students are satisfied with the academic level and with the infrastructure and services offered by the nursing career. Academic satisfaction makes it possible to determine both the benefits and the shortcomings of the institution, and the measures that should be taken to improve it.

Background: Sampling for monitoring commercial production of kingworm (Zophobas spp.) requires knowledge about optimal sample sizes and methods for projecting yields. Hypothesis and objective: A sequential enumerative sampling (SES) based on larval weight records should present significant levels of productivity prediction under known margins of error and precision. To verify this, it was proposed to evaluate the performance of an SES method in two kingworm’s farms in Tarapoto, Peruvian Amazon. Methodology: Means (m) and respective variances (s2) of larvae number and weight since six sample units (SU) of 500 ml from 35 production units (PU) of 48 l were obtained. Log-transformed data were fitted to Taylor’s Power Law TPL (log s2 =log a +b. log m). A Morisita’s index transformation was applied with original larvae number data to obtain an independent measure of intra-sample spatial arrangement. TPL elements constituted the Green's function optimal sample size for three margins of error E. Sequential sampling simulations were carried out, whose means predicted yields comparing two methods of weight relationship between SU and PU (w/W, linear function), with their respective census. Results: Number of larvae (s2 =1.06 m1.61) and weights (s2 =0.79 m1.53) showed highly significant adjustments in TPL, with aggregation coefficients corresponding crowded spatial arrangement. Larval density and Ip index showed close correlation. Although simulations provided a lower hit frequency than expected, the mean precision increased highly significantly while increasing the error margin, with detection levels of 0.25, 2.23 and 12.57 g to E 50, 30 and 20 %, respectively. Implications: Applying SES, kingworm’s breeders should standardize substrate volume contained in each UP and adjust their w/W conversion factor to avoid plus sampling efforts. Introduction: Parvalbumin (PV)-positive cells are strategic elements of neuronal networks capable of influencing memory and learning processes. However, it is not known whether pituitary hormones may be related to PV expression in the hippocampus – a part of the limbic system with important functions in learning and memory. Objective: Since previous studies indicate that prolactin (PRL) plays a significant role in hippocampal-dependent learning and synaptic plasticity, we hypothesized that a rise in PRL levels can modify PV expression in the hippocampus. Methods: We employed biochemical, immunohistochemistry, and densitometry techniques – as well as a behavioural assay – in a hyperprolactinemia model using subcutaneous osmotic pumps in female mice. Results: PRL treatment via osmotic pump induced an increase in PRL receptor (PRLR) expression in most regions of the hippocampus analysed by Western blotting and immunohistochemistry methods. Fluorescent densitometry analysis revealed that PV expression decreases in the same layers in the hippocampus following PRL treatment, while double labelling immunostaining indicated close localization of PV and PRLR in PV-positive interneurons. In addition, we found that PRL induced a reduction in the β2/3 subunit of GABAA receptor (GABAAR) expression that was linearly correlated with the reduction in PV expression. This reduction in the β2/3 subunit of GABAAR expression was maintained in trained animals in which PRL treatment improved the learning of a spatial memory task. Conclusions: These data show, for the first time, that an increase in PRL level is associated with changes in key constituent elements of inhibitory circuits in the hippocampus and may be of relevance for the alterations in cognitive function reported in hyperprolactinemia.

The aim of the study was to describe nursing teams' theoretical knowledge of delirium and their perceptions of the way in which it is handled in acute inpatient units.This is a descriptive cross-sectional study using a questionnaire comprising ten questions on knowledge and seven on perception.The sample consisted of 216 professionals working at a hospital complex in Madrid, Spain. Descriptive and non-parametric bivariate analyses were performed for a p .05.Fifty-three point two per cent of staff possessed sufficient theoretical knowledge, and this figure rose significantly among professionals with more years of experience. Areas for improvement in theoretical knowledge included the use of therapeutic immobilization, screening scale, subtypes of delirium and precipitating factors. Sixty-eight point five per cent of staff perceived their knowledge as fair, 50% agreed that delirium was underdiagnosed and 48.1% agreed that preventive measures were only occasionally taken. Perceived barriers included lack of training, work overload, ineffective coordination and lack of standardized protocols.

Much has been argued within the fertile critical field of feminism in the second half of the twentieth century. With the advantage of distance from the twenty-first century, we can now gain a certain perspective on the general context of production and reception of feminist criticism as it becomes embodied in new myths that subvert the old phallogocentric ones. My approach intends to start a dialogue between such embodiments (mainly in the work of Cixous, Hayles, de Beauvoir, and Haraway) and Karen Barad’s agential materialism, using her critical construct of “phenomenon” as an instrument to understand the feminist paradigm in the post-human context and proposing accountable diffractive intra-action as an alternative to naturalized constructs.
