The structures of two one-dimensional coordination complexes, [[M.sup.II][(3-Bzpy).sub.2][(N[(CN).sub.2]).sub.2]] (M = Mn (1) and Co (2) and 3-Bzpy = 3-benzoylpyridine), have been determined in this work. The two structures are isomorphous, crystallize in a monoclinic P[2.sub.1]/c space group, and show almost the same crystal structure. The magnetic measurements of the two compounds (2-300 K) indicate that antiferromagnetic exchanges exist between the metal ions of the two compounds. Techniques to calculate the carrier distribution in MOS inversion and accumulation layer are presented.

We demonstrate the facile and robust generation of giant peptide vesicles by using an emulsion transfer method. These robust vesicles can sustain chemical and physical stresses. The peptide vesicles can host cell-free expression reactions by encapsulating essential ingredients. We show the incorporation of another cell-free expressed elastin-like polypeptide into the existing membrane of the peptide vesicles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A technique for calculating band bending and subband energies to study quantum mechanical effects in MOS structure inversion layers is presented.

A study investigated the unique characteristics of the universal behavior of metal exide semiconductor inversion layer electron mobility in non-uniform doped substrate compared with uniform doped cases. An obvious discrepancy exists in published research results in this area. It was demonstrated that the discrepancy is due to the different definitions of the depletion layer charge and the invalid extraction parameters from experimental data in some of the studies whose results were analyzed.
