Abstract

This article provides an interval type-2 fuzzy-based direct torque control (IT2FDTC) of the induction motor (IM) drive, (IMD) in which a hybrid duty ratio control (HDRC) technique is used to activate a two-level inverter. Moreover, it is implemented with the help of DSPACE-1104 controller in a real-time application using a 2HP IM and compared its overall performance with a conventional proportional-integral direct torque control (CPIDTC) using space vector modulation (SVM) technique. The IT2FDTC can be provided less torque and flux ripples with a faster dynamic performance of IMD over a CPIDTC. This due to the fact that a three-dimensional Mamdani type-2 fuzzy controller along with the centroid method is used in the defuzzification process, for the proposed control method. The proposed method of study effectively controls the gains of PI and HDRC. Also, HDRC has a total of five possible duty ratios in which two novel duty ratios are introduced including two clamping and one SVM duty ratios to further improve the current/flux/torque harmonic profile performance of IMD than CPIDTC.

Abstract

A grid connected photovoltaic (PV) based electric vehicle (EV) charging station is proposed that provides uninterrupted power supply to EV and non-linear domestic load. Here, PV is responsible for power transfer to the EV and household load. The proposed Normalized Gaussian Kernel Least Mean Square (NGKLMS) control technique mitigates several power quality (PQ) issues arising due to non-linear load, unbalanced load or change in solar irradiance (G). This technique lowers the harmonic content of the grid parameters based on IEEE 519 standard and maintains unity power factor (UPF). The superiority in performance of the proposed control is validated by comparing with conventional techniques like Least Mean Fourth (LMF) and Least Mean Square (LMS) in MATLAB/SIMULINK.

112. STUDIES ON THE EFFECT OF FINAL QUALITY DEFECTS IN THE SMOKED PRODUCTS PREPARED USING ICED MACKEREL AND PINK PERCH.

Abstract

The study was carried out to know the effect on the quality defects in the final products prepared using iced Mackerel and Pink perch. The product prepared was smoked by using Mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta) and Pink perch (Nemipterus japonicus). It has been observed that the quality of the final products was started deteriorating after fifteen days in both the smoked products prepared by using iced Mackerel and Pink perch. The deterioration took place faster in fatty fishes when compared to lean variety of fishes. This is because of the fat content which have been lead to rancidity and that would have degraded the quality of the final smoked products. Whereas, in lean variety of fishes fat content is low and the rancidity takes place lately. Hence, by using lean variety of fishes for preparing the final quality of smoked products could kept for a longer period when compared to fatty fishes in any of the products viz. smoking, canning etc. This product was adjudged by organoleptic, sensory and bio-chemical analysis to find out the final quality deterioration. Abstract

Even in this computer world few activities are being done manually. Rythu Bharosa Kendram is a place where few activities done manually. Government of Andhra Pradesh launched YSR Rythu Bharosa to assist farmers financially and to supply seeds, fertilizers to different sectors. RBKs are the medium through which the farmers purchase all the required fertilizers and pesticides. RBKs have to keep track of the availability of the fertilizers and pesticides. RBKs don't have any source to keep track of the stock. They are facing difficulty in checking the available stock every time whenever a farmer approaches. So, a mobile application is being developed for the RBK to keep track of the stock available, refilling and sales made so far. As there is no medium to keep track of fertilizers stock this app is well utilized. Our project helps the officers in analyzing the stock availability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

This paper investigates the application of a grid-connected off-board Electric vehicle (EV) battery charger on the reactive power compensation and simultaneously use as a battery charger (grid-to-vehicle (G2V)) and power generator (vehicle-to-grid (V2G)). The topology of the charger consists of a grid facing front-end AC-DC cascaded H-bridge bidirectional converter, which controls the power flow between the grid and EV battery using a back-end DC-DC bidirectional converter. The charger configuration provides galvanic isolation at the user end from the rest of the system as a safety measure. The proposed control algorithm follows the active power command for G2V and V2G operation along with reactive power command from the utility grid when requested, by controlling EV current and battery current. Furthermore, an adaptive notch filter based controller is designed for system phase estimation and generated reference current synchronization. The proposed control algorithm eliminates phase locked loop (PLL) from the controller design. As a result, the computational complexity of the controller reduces with improved steady-state and trainset performance. Furthermore, a 12.6 kVA off-board charger simulation model is developed in MATLAB/Simulink environment and the performance of the proposed control algorithm is tested during G2V, V2G, and reactive power compensation operation of the EV charger.

Abstract

This paper presents a new super twisting sliding mode control for the isolated DC-DC bi-directional dual active bridge (DAB) power converter for enhanced output voltage regulation. The sliding mode control (SMC) is well known for its robustness and improved dynamics for non-linear systems. Still, it includes the drawback of high-frequency chattering and degradation of tracking performance. The suggested super twisting sliding mode control (ST-SMC) scheme incorporates the advantages of a sliding mode controller and eliminates the problem of chattering. Thus, improved dc-link voltage stability and high robustness for accurate reference voltage tracking are obtained. The output voltage in the DAB converter depends upon the power transferred through the transformer. The transferred power is a function of the phase shift of the voltage waveform of two H-bridges. The phase shift ratio is computed through the ST-SMC controller presented here utilizing the output voltage dynamic equation and power transfer equations for DAB converter. The proposed scheme which provides a robust control and an improved reference voltage tracking to the DAB converter performance. The proposed ST-SMC scheme is validated by simulation for 1 kW DAB converter in MATLAB-Simulink environment.

Abstract

The mass spectra and decay properties of B and B s mesons are obtained using the nonrelativistic potential model by applying the variational approach. The quark–anti-quark potential used in our model consists of a Hulthen potential and a confining linear potential. The hyper-fine interaction is introduced to obtain the splittings of the spin-singlet and triplet states, while the spin–orbit and tensor interactions provide the fine structure splittings. The model parameters and the wave functions that reproduce the mass spectra are used to investigate the decay properties of B and B s mesons. Abstract

Importance:Fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapies are being increasingly recommended for initial or early management of patients with hypertension, as they reduce treatment complexity and potentially reduce therapeutic inertia. Objective:To investigate the association of antihypertensive triple drug FDC therapy with therapeutic inertia and prescribing patterns compared with usual care. Design, Setting, and Participants:A post hoc analysis of the Triple Pill vs Usual Care Management for Patients With Mild-to-Moderate Hypertension (TRIUMPH) study, a randomized clinical trial of 700 patients with hypertension, was conducted. Patients were enrolled from 11 urban hospital clinics in Sri Lanka from February 2016 to May 2017; follow-up ended in October 2017. Data were analyzed from September to November 2019. Interventions:Once-daily FDC antihypertensive pill (telmisartan, 20 mg; amlodipine, 2.5 mg; and chlorthalidone, 12.5 mg) or usual care. Main Outcomes and Measures:Therapeutic inertia, defined as not intensifying therapy in those with blood pressure (BP) above target, was assessed at baseline and during follow-up visits. Prescribing patterns were characterized by BP-lowering drug class and treatment regimen potency. Predictors of therapeutic inertia were assessed with binomial logistic regression. Results:Of the 700 included patients, 403 (57.6%) were female, and the mean (SD) age was 56 (11) years. Abstract

Since its inception as a solution for secure cryptocurrencies sharing in 2008, the blockchain technology has now become one of the core technologies for secure data sharing and storage over trustless and decentralised peer-to-peer systems. E-government is amongst the systems that stores sensitive information about citizens, businesses and other affiliates, and therefore becomes the target of cyber attackers. The existing e-government systems are centralised and thus subject to single point of failure. This paper proposes a secure and decentralised e-government system based on the consortium blockchain technology, which is a semi-public and decentralised blockchain system consisting of a group of pre-selected entities or organisations in charge of consensus and decisions making for the benefit of the whole network of peers. In addition, a number of e-government nodes are pre-selected to perform the tasks of user and transaction validation before being added to the blockchain network. Accordingly, e-government users of the consortium blockchain network are given the rights to create, submit, access, and review transactions. Abstract

Dental implants are widely accepted for the rehabilitation of missing teeth due to their aesthetic compliance, functional ability, and great survival rate. The various components in implant design like thread design, thread angle, pitch, and material used for manufacturing play a critical role in its success. Understanding these influencing factors and implementing them properly in implant design can reduce cases of potential implant failure. Recently, finite element analysis (FEA) is being widely used in the field of health sciences to solve problems in designing medical devices. It provides valid and accurate assessment in the clinical and in vitro analysis. Hence, this study was conducted to evaluate the impact of thread design of the implant and 3 different bioactive materials, titanium alloy, graphene, and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) on stress, strain, and deformation in the implant system using FEA. In this study, the FEA model of the bones and the tissues are modeled as homogeneous, isotropic, and linearly elastic material with a titanium implant system with an assumption of it 100% osseointegrated into the bone. The titanium was functionalized with graphene and graphene oxide. A modeling software tool Catia¯ and Ansys Workbench¯ is used to perform the analysis and evaluate the von Mises stress distribution, strain, and deformation at the implant and implant-cortical bone interface. The results showed that the titanium implant with a surface coating of graphene oxide exhibited better mechanical behavior than graphene, with mean von Mises stress of 39.64 MPa in pitch 1, 23.65 MPa in pitch 2, and 37.23 MPa in pitch 3. It also revealed that functionalizing the titanium implant will help in reducing the stress at the implant system. Abstract

Although solar cells have the potential to create an endless amount of electrical power, their comparatively low power conversion efficiency draws the curiosity of both academics and industry. The primary goal of this research is to examine the performance of lead-free perovskite solar cells that use methyl ammonium tin iodide (CH3NH3SnI3) as the active material. The SCAPS-1D programme is employed for the simulation and analysis of the solar cells. The solar cell structure was analyzed computationally, and the resulting output was examined by comparing the I-V characteristic curves across different combinations of parameters. Various materials and combinations of parameters were explored in an effort to enhance the power conversion efficiency of solar cells based on CH3NH3SnI3. A series of comprehensive evaluations were undertaken to examine the influence of technical factors, including absorber layer thickness, defect density, and acceptor density, on performance. The acceptor density that yielded the best results was selected in order to improve the performance of the solar cell. The simulation results were acquired across a temperature range spanning from 300K to 450K, revealing enhanced stability within the range of typical ambient temperatures. The study produced encouraging findings, which included a short circuit current density of 30.81mA/cm2, an open circuit voltage of 1.25V, a fill factor of 80.35%, and a power conversion efficiency of 31.11%. This study has the potential to facilitate the development of environmentally sustainable, highly efficient, and cost-effective thin film solar cells based on CH3NH3SnI3, which exhibit noteworthy physical characteristics as alternatives to lead-containing perovskite solar cells.
