On February 13, 2023, a huge fireball was visible over Western Europe (fireball event 2023 CX1). After the possible strewn field was calculated, the first of several recovered samples, with a mass of about 100 g, was discovered just 2 days after the fireball event on the ground of the village of Saint‐Pierre‐le‐Viger. Meanwhile, more than 60 samples with a total mass of more than 1 kg were recovered and a piece of one of these is studied here. The fall occurred 220 years after the historic meteorite fall of L'Aigle on April 26, 1803, <120 km south. L'Aigle is the closest meteorite fall to Saint‐Pierre‐le‐Viger and belongs to the same chondrite group. Both meteorites are breccias containing only clasts of high metamorphic degree (type 5 and type 6). Since only 20% of the L chondrites are breccias this coincidence is remarkable. As just mentioned, both samples studied from these rocks in this work are ordinary chondrite breccias and consist of equilibrated and recrystallized lithologies of petrologic type 6. The brecciated texture in L'Aigle, resulting in a remarkable light–dark structure, is more pronounced than the brecciated features in Saint‐Pierre‐le‐Viger, from which also type 5 fragments have been reported. The compositions of low‐Ca pyroxene and olivine grains in Saint‐Pierre‐le‐Viger (Fs21.2 and Fa23.4, respectively) clearly require an L‐group classification. L'Aigle was classified as an L6 breccia in the past, and this has now been confirmed by new data on low‐Ca pyroxene and olivine (Fs20.7 and Fa23.8, respectively). Saint‐Pierre‐le‐Viger contains local thin shock veins, and both meteorites are moderately shocked. Most olivines in the studied samples have planar fractures, but the estimated abundance of mosaicized olivines of 30%–40% among the large grains require a S4 shock classification. Oxygen isotope and bulk chemical data of Saint‐Pierre‐le‐Viger certainly support the L chondrite classification. Bulk spectral data of Saint‐Pierre‐le‐Viger are dominated by silicate minerals, that is, Fe‐bearing low‐Ca pyroxene, olivine, and plagioclase. Isotopic, chemical, and spectral data of the L'Aigle meteorite are shown for comparison and are very similar, providing additional circumstantial evidence of Saint‐Pierre‐le‐Viger's L chondritic nature. Exercise is a recognized component in the prevention and therapy of osteoporosis. The present systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to determine the effect of Vitamin D (Vit-D) added to exercise versus exercise alone on bone mineral density (BMD) at the lumbar spine (LS) or hip in older adults. A systematic review based on six literature databases according to PRISMA included (a) exercise trials, with an exercise (EX) and a combined exercise + Vit-D group (EX + Vit-D), (b) intervention ≥ 6 months, and (c) BMD assessments at LS or hip. Effects sizes (MD) and 95%-confidence intervals (95%-CI) were calculated using a random-effect model that includes the inverse heterogeneity model (IVhet). Five studies with 281 participants in the EX and 279 participants in the EX + Vit-D were included. No significant differences between EX versus EX + Vit-D were observed for BMD-LS (MD: 0.002, 95%-CI: −0.033 to 0.036) or BMD-hip (MD: 0.003, 95%-CI: −0.035 to 0.042). Heterogeneity between the trial results was moderate-substantial for LS (I2 = 0%) and moderate for hip-BMD (I2 = 35%). The funnel plot analysis suggests evidence for a publication/small study bias for BMD-LS and hip results. In summary, this present systematic review and meta-analysis were unable to determine significant positive interaction of exercise and Vit-D on LS- or hip-BMD. We predominately attribute this finding to (1) the less bone-specific exercise protocols of at least two of the five studies and (2) the inclusion criteria of the studies that did not consequently focus on Vit-D deficiency. This issue should be addressed in more detail by adequately powered exercise trials with promising exercise protocols and participants with Vit-D deficiency. Here we explore the carbon and oxygen isotope compositions of the co-existing carbonate and phosphate fractions of fish tooth enameloid as a tool to reconstruct past aquatic fish environments and harvesting grounds. The enameloid oxygen isotope compositions of the phosphate fraction (δ18OPO4) vary by as much as ~4‰ for migratory marine fish such as gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata), predominantly reflecting the different saline habitats it occupies during its life cycle. The offset in enameloid Δ18OCO3-PO4 values of modern marine Sparidae and freshwater Cyprinidae from the Southeast Mediterranean region vary between 8.1 and 11.0‰, similar to values reported for modern sharks. The mean δ13C of modern adult S. aurata and Cyprinus carpio teeth of 0.1±0.4‰ and -6.1±0.7‰, respectively, mainly reflect the difference in δ13C of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) of the ambient water and dietary carbon sources. The enameloid Δ18OCO3-PO4 and δ13C values of ancient S. aurata (Holocene) and fossil Luciobarbus sp. (Cyprinidae; mid Pleistocene) teeth agree well with those of modern specimens, implying little diagenetic alteration of these tooth samples. Paired δ18OPO4-δ13C data from ancient S. aurata teeth indicate that hypersaline water bodies formed in the Levant region during the Late Holocene from typical Mediterranean coastal water with high evaporation rates and limited carbon input from terrestrial sources. Sparid tooth stable isotopes further suggest that coastal lagoons in the Eastern Mediterranean had already formed by the Early Holocene and were influenced by terrestrial carbon sources. Overall, combined enameloid oxygen and carbon isotope analysis of fish teeth is a powerful tool to infer the hydrologic evolution of aquatic environments and assess past fishing grounds of human populations in antiquity. Abstract: We searched for special features in patients with complete and incomplete right bundle branch block diagnosed as having arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia. Whether right bundle branch block is a frequent finding in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy should be studied. The question is whether special features exist such as T-wave inversions, localized right precordial QRS prolongation and r’/s ratio<1. Results: ARVC could be diagnosed according to ISFC/ESC criteria in 374 patients. CRBBB was found in 22 cases (6%) and iCRBBB was present in 47 cases (12.5%). In CRBBB T wave inversions≥V4 was found in 10 cases (n.s.) and r’/s ratio<1 was present in 12 cases (p<0.001). In iCRBBB T wave inversions≥V4 was found in 10 cases (n.s.) and ST segment elevation in right precordial leads was present in 19 cases (p<0.005). In all patients with ARVC localized right precordial QRS prolongation was found. Patients with CRBBB have a bad prognosis: 17 of 22 patients developed biventricular heart failure requiring heart transplantation and diuretic therapy. Conclusions: CRBBB and iCRBBB are infrequent findings in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy. Complete right bundle branch block is characterized by r’/s ratio<1. There are no significant T wave inversions≥V4. Incomplete right bundle branch block is characterized by ST segment elevation in right precordial leads but not by T wave inversions≥V4. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was (1) to determine exercise effects on bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women and (2) to address the corresponding implication of bone and menopausal status or supervision in postmenopausal women. A comprehensive search of eight electronic databases according to the PRISMA statement up to August 9, 2022, included controlled exercise trials ≥ 6 months. BMD changes (standardized mean differences: SMD) at the lumbar spine (LS), femoral neck (FN), and total hip (TH) were considered as outcomes. Study group comparisons were conducted for osteopenia/osteoporosis versus normal BMD, early versus late postmenopausal women, and predominantly supervised versus predominantly non-supervised study arms. We applied an inverse heterogeneity (IVhet) model. In summary, 80 studies involving 94 training and 80 control groups with a pooled number of 5581 participants were eligible. The IVhet model determined SMDs of 0.29 (95% CI: 0.16–0.42), 0.27 (95% CI: 0.16–0.39), and 0.41 (95% CI: 0.30–0.52) for LS, FN, and THBMD, respectively. Heterogeneity between the trial results varied from low (I2 = 20%, TH BMD) to substantial (I2 = 68%, LS-BMD). Evidence for publication bias/small study effects was negligibly low (FN-, TH-BMD) to high (LSBMD). We observed no significant differences (p >.09) for exercise effects on LS-, FN-, or TH-BMD-LS between studies/study arms with or without osteopenia/osteoporosis, early versus late postmenopausal women, or predominantly supervised versus non-supervised exercise programs. Using robust statistical methods, the present work provides further evidence for a positive effect of exercise on BMD in postmenopausal women. Differences in bone status (osteopenia/osteoporosis versus normal bone), menopausal status (early versus late postmenopausal), and supervision (yes versus no) did not significantly affect the exercise effects on BMD at LS or proximal femur. Background: Evidence suggests that patients suffering from different mental disorders benefit from exercise programs combined with behavior change techniques. Based on this evidence, we have developed an exercise program (ImPuls) specifically designed to provide an additional treatment option in the outpatient mental health care system. The implementation of such complex programs into the outpatient context requires research that goes beyond the evaluation of effectiveness, and includes process evaluation. So far, process evaluation related to exercise interventions has rarely been conducted. As part of a current pragmatic randomized controlled trial evaluating ImPuls treatment effects, we are therefore carrying out comprehensive process evaluation according to the Medical Research Council (MRC) framework. The central aim of our process evaluation is to support the findings of the ongoing randomized controlled trial. Methods: The process evaluation follows a mixed-methods approach. We collect quantitative data via online-questionnaires from patients, exercise therapists, referring healthcare professionals and managers of outpatient rehabilitative and medical care facilities before, during, and after the intervention. In addition, documentation data as well as data from the ImPuls smartphone application are collected. Quantitative data is complemented by qualitative interviews with exercise therapists as well as a focus-group interview with managers. Treatment fidelity will be assessed through the rating of video-recorded sessions. Quantitative data analysis includes descriptive as well as mediation and moderation analyses. Qualitative data will be analyzed via qualitative content analysis. Discussion: The results of our process evaluation will complement the evaluation of effectiveness and cost-effectiveness and will, for example, provide important information about mechanisms of impact, structural prerequisites, or provider qualification that may support the decision-making process of health policy stakeholders. It might contribute to paving the way for exercise programs like ImPuls to be made successively available for patients with heterogeneous mental disorders in the German outpatient mental health care system. Background: In Germany, a multidisciplinary rehabilitation named "behavioural medical rehabilitation" (BMR) is available for treatment of chronic low back pain (clbp). A central component of BMR is standard exercise therapy (SET), which is directed mainly to improve physical fitness. There is a need to address psychosocial factors within SET and therefore to improve behavior change with a focus on the development of self-management skills in dealing with clbp. Furthermore, short-term effectiveness of BMR with a SET has been proven, but the impact of a behavioural exercise therapy (BET) for improvement of the long-term effectiveness of BMR is unclear.Methods/design: To compare the effectiveness of two exercise programs with different approaches within BMR on the effects of BMR a prospective randomized controlled trial (RCT) in two rehabilitation centres will be performed. 214 patients aged 18-65 with clbp will be, based on an "urn randomisation"-algorithm, randomly assigned to a BMR with SET (function-oriented, n=107) and BMR with BET (behaviour-oriented, n=107). Both exercise programs have a mean duration of 26 hours in three weeks and are delivered by a limited number of not-blinded study therapists in closed groups with six to twelve patients who will be masked regarding study group. The main differences of BET lie in its detailed manualised program with a theory-based, goal-orientated combination of exercise, education and behavioural elements, active participation of patients and consideration of their individual preferences and previous experiences with exercise. The primary outcome is functional ability assessed with the Hannover Functional Ability Questionnaire directly before and after the rehabilitation program, as well as a six and twelve-month follow-up.Discussion: This RCT is designed to explore the effects of BET on the effectiveness of a BMR compared to a BMR with SET in the management of patients with clbp. Methodological challenges arise from conducting a RCT within routine health care as well as from ensuring high treatment integrity. In the recent years, virtual 3D reconstructions of archaeological sites have gained large attention from various fields of science. Procedural modelling approaches have emerged as appropriate to model and visualize reconstructed ancient structures. The process of reconstructing historical building structures involves ambiguities and uncertainties. On an archaeological site, excavated and surveyed findings such as ruins, located in their original positions, provide reliable foundations for a 3D reconstruction. On the contrary, findings, such as debris of walls, roofs, columns, etc. are not less important, but implicate different levels of certainties for a 3D model, depending on the archaeological knowledge and interpretation. On one hand, this work provides a virtual 3D reconstructing of an ancient Roman temple named ‘‘Sanctuary of Diana’’ located in Nemi, Italy, in different levels of detail using a procedural modelling approach. Summary: The role of exercise in preventing osteoporotic fractures is vague, and further recommendations for optimized exercise protocols are very rare. In the present work, we provided positive evidence for exercise effects on the number of osteoporotic fractures in adults, albeit without observing any significant relevance of intensity progression or study duration. Introduction : Osteoporotic fractures are a major challenge confronting our aging society. Exercise might be an efficient agent for reducing osteoporotic fractures in older adults, but the most promising exercise protocol for that purpose has yet to be identified. The present meta-analysis thus aimed to identify important predictors of the exercise effect on osteoporotic fractures in adults. Methods: We conducted a systematic search of six literature databases according to the PRISMA guideline that included controlled exercise studies and reported the number of low-trauma major osteoporotic fractures separately for exercise (EG) and control (CG) groups. Primary study outcome was incidence ratio (IR) for major osteoporotic fractures. Sub-analyses were conducted for progression of intensity (yes vs. no) during the trial and the study duration (≤ 12 months vs. > 12 months). Results: In summary, 11 studies with a pooled number of 9715 participant-years in the EG and 9592 in the CG were included. The mixed-effects conditional Poisson regression revealed positive exercise effects on major osteoporotic fractures (RR: 0.75, 95% CI: 0.54–0.94, p =.006). Although studies with intensity progression were more favorable, our subgroup analysis did not determine significant differences for diverging intensity progression (p =.133) or study duration (p =.883). Heterogeneity among the trials of the subgroups (I2 ≤ 0–7.1%) was negligible. Conclusion: The present systematic review and meta-analysis provided significant evidence for the favorable effect of exercise on major osteoporotic fractures. However, diverging study and exercise characteristics along with the close interaction of exercise parameters prevented the derivation of reliable recommendations for exercise protocols for fracture reductions. Der vorliegende Bericht beschreibt Untersuchungen über die Eignung besandeter CFK‐Lamellen als Spannglieder für dünne Carbonbeton‐Platten. Da die Einleitung der Vorspannkraft ausschließlich über Verbund zwischen Spannglied und Beton erfolgt, werden im Rahmen der Arbeit Auszieh‐ und Spannkraft‐Einleitungsversuche durchgeführt. Durch die Versuche wird die Verbund‐Arbeitslinie ermittelt und die Einleitungslänge der Vorspannkraft abgeschätzt. Darüber hinaus wird durch 4‐Punkt‐Biegeversuche das Tragverhalten vorgespannter Carbonbeton‐Platten untersucht und die Einflüsse der Verbundfestigkeit erörtert. Auf Grundlage der gewonnen Erkenntnisse wird ein Modell zur Beschreibung des Biegetragverhaltens erstellt und ein Bemessungskonzept abgeleitet. Pre‐tensioning of thin‐walled carbon‐concrete slabs The present article describes investigations on the suitability of sanded CFRP‐slats as tendons for thin‐walled carbon‐concrete slabs. Since the pre‐stressing force is introduced into the member only by bond between tendon and concrete, pull‐out and pre‐stress introduction tests are performed in the context of this work. Based on the results of these tests the bond‐slip diagram is determined and the pre‐stress introduction length is estimated. Furthermore, the structural behaviour of pre‐stressed carbon‐concrete slabs is investigated by means of bending tests, and the influences of reinforcement's bond characteristics are discussed. From the obtained test results a model is derived describing the bending behaviour. Finally, dimensioning recommendations for pre‐stressed carbon‐concrete slabs are proposed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The importance of terrestrial coastal ecosystems for maintaining healthy coral reef ecosystems remains understudied. Sea kraits are amphibious snakes that require healthy coral reefs for foraging, but little is known about their requirements of terrestrial habitats, where they slough their skin, digest prey, and breed. Using concurrent microclimate measurements and behavior surveys, we show that a small, topographically flat atoll in Fiji with coastal forest provides many microhabitats that relate to the behaviors of Yellow Lipped Sea Kraits, Laticauda colubrina. Microclimates were significantly related to canopy cover, leaf litter depth, and distance from the high‐water mark (HWM). Sea kraits were almost exclusively observed in coastal forest within 30 m of the HWM. Sloughing of skins only occurred within crevices of mature or dying trees. Resting L. colubrina were significantly more likely to occur at locations with higher mean diurnal temperatures, lower leaf litter depths, and shorter distances from the HWM. On Leleuvia, behavior of L. colubrina therefore relates to environmental heterogeneity created by old‐growth coastal forests, particularly canopy cover and crevices in mature and dead tree trunks. The importance of healthy coastal habitats, both terrestrial and marine, for L. colubrina suggests it could be a good flagship species for advocating integrated land‐sea management. Furthermore, our study highlights the importance of coastal forests and topographically flat atolls for biodiversity conservation. Effective conservation management of amphibious species that utilize land‐ and seascapes is therefore likely to require a holistic approach that incorporates connectivity among ecosystems and environmental heterogeneity at all relevant scales. We present the GLIMPSE system that provides a framework for storage, management, accessibility and integration of 3D LiDAR data acquired from multiple platforms. We detail a point cloud retrieval approach, which provides spatially optimised access to point cloud data from the system for a particular geographic area based on user specifications. We tested our point cloud retrieval approach to facilitate the extraction of road medians from large volumes of ALS data stored in the GLIMPSE system. The integrated use of a geospatial database, the GLIMPSE system and the point cloud retrieval approach improved the efficiency of road median extraction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To expand the newly developed ARM glasses as reference materials for in situ microanalysis of isotope ratios and iron oxidation state by a variety of techniques such as SIMS, LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS and EPMA, we report Li‐B‐Si‐O‐Mg‐Sr‐Nd‐Hf‐Pb isotope data and Fe2+/ΣFe ratios for these glasses. The data were mainly obtained by TIMS, MC‐ICP‐MS, IR‐MS and wet‐chemistry colorimetric techniques. The quality of these data was cross‐checked by comparing different techniques or by comparing the results from different laboratories using the same technique. All three glasses appear to be homogeneous with respect to the investigated isotope ratios (except for B in ARM‐3) and Fe2+/ΣFe ratios at the scale of sampling volume and level of the analytical precision of each technique. The homogeneity of Li‐B‐O‐Nd‐Pb isotope ratios at the microscale (30–120 μm) was estimated using LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS and SIMS techniques. We also present new EPMA major element data obtained using three different instruments for the glasses. The determination of reference values for the major elements and their uncertainties at the 95% confidence level closely followed ISO guidelines and the Certification Protocol of the International Association of Geoanalysts. Abstract: Heavy, proton-rich stable isotopes belong to the least abundant isotopes in the solar system. Their formation mechanisms and their stellar sources are most likely different from those of neutron-capture generated r- and s-process nuclei that comprise the majority of nuclides heavier than iron. Heavy p-nuclide abundances in meteorites are therefore potentially useful in deciphering distinct stellar contributions to the nascent solar system. We therefore conducted the first high-precision measurements of the heavy p-process isotope 180W, achieving a typical precision of ±0.7 ε-units for ca. 300ngW. Measured samples comprise metals from magmatic- and non-magmatic iron meteorites, as well as metal from one H4 chondrite (NWA 926) and two reduced terrestrial basalts (from Disko Island, Greenland and the Dzheltul''ski massif from Eastern-Siberia, Russia). The analyzed iron meteorites show clearly resolvable 180W anomalies of up to +6 ε-units. Conversely, the chondritic metal and both terrestrial samples exhibit 180W abundances indistinguishable from the standard value. As cosmogenic effects during space exposure of the meteoroids may have affected the 180W budget, cosmic-ray exposure of the meteorites has to be critically evaluated. We therefore propose a method to approximate cosmogenic contributions to the 180W signatures in order to unravel nucleosynthetic 180W abundance anomalies. Our study reveals significant cosmogenic effects only for the longest exposed meteorites, shifting 180W anomalies always to lower values (average cosmic-ray correction-factors can be estimated to lie between 0.01 and 0.30 ε 180W-units per 100Myr of exposure). Cosmogenic effects for most of the analyzed meteorites therefore appear to be negligible with respect to the analytical precision achieved for iron meteorites. In addition to cosmic-ray exposure, radiogenic effects can be caused by putative decay of 184Os or by decay of 180Ta in its ground state. Whereas potential alpha decay of 184Os could shift 180W anomalies to higher values (but only up to levels that are within the analytical error of ∼0.5 ε-units for most samples), no significant production of 180W could have occurred from 180Ta decay. Notably, we identified significant and systematic abundance variations in 180W between different iron meteorite groups, indicating that these isotope anomalies are characteristic for their entire parent asteroids. Our finding of decreasing excesses in 180W from early formed magmatic iron meteorites (+3.8±1.2 ɛ-units) towards later formed non-magmatic iron meteorites (+0.6±0.5 ɛ-units), the analyzed chondrite and both terrestrial rocks (−0.3±0.7 ε-units) may thus mirror progressive homogenization of 180W in the early solar nebula. This overall trend is also supported by a co-variation between 180W and metal segregation ages for the different iron meteorite groups as well as by a co-variation between 180W deviations and the respective asteroidal accretion ages. Such an interpretation would suggest progressive homogenization of the solar nebula within about ∼2.5 to ∼6Myr. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Objective: Partial compliance with antipsychotic medication increases relapse and rehospitalization rates in patients with schizophrenia. The aim of the present study was to assess the frequency of and factors contributing to partial compliance. Method: During a 10 day period in June 2004 psychiatrists working in hospitals or in private practices in Germany were asked to participate in a compliance survey. Physicians were requested to evaluate the compliance in 10 patients with schizophrenia using a questionnaire consisting of 10 questions. The frequency of unintentional and intentional partial compliance as well as patient-related contributing factors were assessed. Unintentional partial compliance was defined as the lack of drug intake on any day during the past month. Demographic data of participants were collected. Responses were analysed using descriptive statistics and generalized estimation equation models. Results: The psychiatrists (n=699) regarded 68% of the evaluated patients (n=5729) as unintentionally partially compliant within the last month. Sixty-nine per cent of the patients were considered intentionally partially compliant in the past. The most frequently assessed patient-related factors contributing to the partial compliance were lack of insight into the need for prophylactic medication (68%), lack of insight/denial of illness (66%/63%), feeling embarrassed at taking medication every day (62%), needing someone to remind them to take their medication (62%), cognitive problems (55%), and living conditions inappropriate for compliance (46%). Conclusions: Partial compliance is a common problem in schizophrenia. Strategies to improve partial compliance derived from the contributing factors identified in the present study may include regular telephone reminders by case managers or families, adequate support in the patients' environment, use of dosette boxes, rationalizing drug regimens (e.g. once-daily dosage, monotherapy, depot medication), and psychoeducation.
