117. Stability-aware Energy Efficient Clustering Protocol in WSN using Opposition-based Elephant Herding Optimisation

Abstract

The main intent of this paper is to implement the stability-aware energy-efficient clustering protocol in WSN. This paper plans to derive a multi-objective function with the constraints like energy, distance, delay, stability period, and intents to attain the objective by developing a new well-performing meta-heuristic algorithm called Opposition-based Elephant Herding Optimisation (O-EHO). The objective function diminishes the energy consumption of sensor nodes by optimum selection of cluster heads that leads to maintain the energy balance between the normal nodes. In this way, there is a remarkable enhancement in the performance parameters such as throughput, stability period, and network lifetime. It is proved that the network lifetime is enhanced by the stability period and thus it is considered as the most significant parameter. The experimental analysis proves the competitive performance of the proposed model over other heuristic methods.

Abstract

• Lymphangiomas are benign swellings most commonly seen in paediatric population. • MRI is the superior imaging technique to diagnose lymphangiomas. • Surgical excision is the mainstay of treatment. Lymphangiomas are benign swellings most commonly seen in paediatric population. Head and neck are the common sites of presentation rarely can also been seen other sites as axilla, chest, abdomen, liver, spleen. Even though many different modalities have come up surgical excision remains the main stay of treatment. A 24 year male patient presented with complaints of a swelling the neck since 2 months, which was 8 × 5 cms, soft, cystic and transilluminant in the anterior triangle of the neck. MRI study showed features suggestive of a para pharyngeal lymphangioma. Patient had undergone surgical excision through trans mandibular trans cervical approach for extra cranial part and for intra cranial part has got OK-432 sclerosant therapy. Lymphangiomas are benign, hamartamatous swellings. They are mostly noticed due to their large size causing disfigurement, dyspnoea or dysphagia. They are diagnosed prenatally by using ultrasound scanning. MRI is the superior imaging technique to diagnose lymphangiomas. Surgical excision is the mainstay of treatment, other treatment modalities as scelerotherapy, laser excision, radiotherapy, unroofing, aspiration or steroids are also used. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

130. Utilization of enzyme incubated rape seed meal as a source of protein in commercial broiler diets

Abstract

Two experiments were conducted to study the possibility of utilizing enzyme incubated rape seed meal (RSM) in broiler diets (1 to 42 day of age). The RSM was anaerobically incubated with non-starch polysaccharide hydrolyzing enzymes (cellulase 1,500 IU, xylanase 250 IU and pectinase 125 IU per kilogram) for 300 minutes (processed RSM1, experiments 1 and 2) and 600 min (processed RSM2, experiment 2). Processed and raw RSM contained similar concentration of glucosinolates (275 and 288 mM/g, respectively). During the experiment 1, maize-soybean meal control diet (CD), two diets with raw (RRSM) and processed RSM (PRSM1) at 100 g/kg each were prepared. In the experiment 2, RRSM, PRSM1 and PRSM2 were included each at 3 levels (50, 100 and 150 g/kg). Each diet was offered to 9 replicates having 5 birds in each. Body weight gain (BWG), feed intake (FI), feed efficiency (FE), ready to cook (RTC) yield and breast weight were depressed by incorporating RRSM (experiments 1, 2). As a result of this study, PRSM1 significantly reduced FI, maintained BWG and improved FE compared to the control group. BWG was not affected by including PRSM1 and PRSM2 up to 100 and 50 g/kg, respectively but depressed at higher inclusion levels compared to the CD. The BWG in processed RSM fed groups were higher than the respective level of raw RSM fed groups. Retention of energy and protein were improved by incorporating processed RSM compared to those fed RRSM. Based on the data, it is concluded that enzyme (cellulase, xylanase and pectinase) incubated RSM for 300 minutes improved the nutritional value, which can be incorporated up to 100 g/kg in broiler diet without affecting performance and slaughter variables, which can be attributed to the improved retention of energy and protein in RSM based diets.

133. Robust Gaussian Noise Detection and Removal in Color Images using Modified Fuzzy Set Filter

Abstract

In the data collection phase, the digital images are captured using sensors that often contaminated by noise (undesired random signal). In digital image processing task, enhancing the image quality and reducing the noise is a central process. Image denoising effectively preserves the image edges to a higher extend in the flat regions. Several adaptive filters (median filter, Gaussian filter, fuzzy filter, etc.) have been utilized to improve the smoothness of digital image, but these filters failed to preserve the image edges while removing noise. In this paper, a modified fuzzy set filter has been proposed to eliminate noise for restoring the digital image. Usually in fuzzy set filter, sixteen fuzzy rules are generated to find the noisy pixels in the digital image. In modified fuzzy set filter, a set of twenty-four fuzzy rules are generated with additional four pixel locations for determining the noisy pixels in the digital image. The additional eight fuzzy rules ease the process of finding the image pixels,whether it required averaging or not. In this scenario, the input digital images were collected from the underwater photography fish dataset. The efficiency of the modified fuzzy set filter was evaluated by varying degrees of Gaussian noise (0.01, 0.03, and 0.1 levels of Gaussian noise). For performance evaluation, Structural Similarity (SSIM), Mean Structural Similarity (MSSIM), Mean Square Error (MSE), Normalized Mean Square Error (NMSE), Universal Image Quality Index (UIQI), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), and Visual Information Fidelity (VIF) were used. The experimental results showed that the modified fuzzy set filter improved PSNR value up to 2-3 dB, MSSIM up to 0.12-0.03, and NMSE value up to 0.38-0.1 compared to the traditional filtering techniques.

Abstract

Recent years have authenticated a dramatic increase in graph applications due to their advancements in their informative and social connectivity. In large-scale networks, graph data contains huge information and exhibits distinct characteristics. Traditional graph convolutional networks cannot handle the problem of covariate-shift in the neural-networks during analysing the patterns. This research presents an intelligence-based graph-classification model for citation networks by using normalised graph convolution networks to handle covariate-shift problem and provides greater regularisation with a decrement in loss to a greater extent. This problem is vanquished by utilising the normalisation constraint for the individual batch constructed as per network developed for graph-structures which eventually lead to building a robust model. The model classifies the underlying connectivity patterns of the structural and informative relationships with appropriate embeddings. This information is fed to neural-network and learns hidden layer representation that encode both local graphs and features of the nodes in the citation network.

Abstract

Social media usage is one of the most popular online activities these days. In 2018, it is estimated that 2.65 billion people were using social media worldwide and these numbers are expected to reach almost 3.1 billion by 2021, the majority of whom are young people. With some notable exceptions, there are few studies that have been undertaken in the field of politics and social media. This study examines how usage of social media for political purpose influences the voting behavior of the voter in this realm. The authors test the proposition that using social media for political use offers a new pathway to their political participation, interest, and knowledge using path analysis. Results demonstrate that political use of social media impacted both levels of and growth in traditional political participation, interest, and knowledge during the 2019 election.

Abstract

JLP (JNK associated Leucine zipper protein) is a scaffolding protein, which has been shown to interact with and activate JNK/p38MAPK pathway. Its interaction with various signaling proteins is associated with coordinated regulation of cellular process such as endocytosis, motility, neurite outgrowth, cell proliferation and apoptosis. Here we identified a mitotic Serine/Threonine kinase, Polo like kinase 1 (Plk1), as a novel interaction partner of JLP through a mass spectrometry based approach. We show that the N-terminal domain of JLP interacts with the polo-box domain (PBD) of Plk1 in a phosphorylation-dependent manner. Our results indicate that, JLP is phospho-primed on Thr 351 residue on its Nterminus, which is recognized by the PBD of Plk1 leading to phosphorylation of JLP at additional sites. Moreover, treatment of cells with the Plk1 inhibitor, BI2536 affects the interaction demonstrating the importance of Plk1 kinase activity in this process. Since JLP is a scaffolding protein that recruits proteins to mediate specific cell signaling events, we hypothesized that the interaction of JLP with Plk1 might result in the recruitment of other proteins to this complex. To test this hypothesis, we carried out SILAC labeling of proteins in mitotic cells in the presence or absence of BI2536. Through mass-spectrometry we identified the transcription factor, FoxK1 as a Plk1-dependent JLP-interacting protein. Furthermore, we show that JLP, Plk1 and FoxK1 form a ternary complex, which occurs only during mitosis. Knockdown of Plk1 and not JLP, affected the interaction between JLP and FoxK1 indicating that the formation of the ternary complex is dependent on Plk1. FoxK1 has been previously characterized as a transcriptional repressor of cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor, p21/WAF1. We observed that knockdown of JLP in U2OS cells results in increased protein levels of FoxK1 and a reduction of p21 expression. Moreover, immunofluorescence studies in asynchronous cells showed that FoxK1 is excluded from the nucleus during mitosis. Based on our observations, we propose that formation of the ternary complex between JLP, Plk1 and FoxK1 regulates the stability and/or localization of FoxK1.

Abstract

Abstract In almost every mechanism, gears are extensively used machine parts to transmit power from one shaft to other with or without change of speed or direction. The need for better and efficient power transmission has increased the demand for effective gear design systems. All renowned formal gear design systems use AGMA (American Gear Manufacturers Association) standards for design. The conventional processes demand 150 to 200 man-hours to design the new optimized typical gear. Significant time reduction in design calculations can be obtained by using the soft computing tool. Additionally, advanced CAD Modeling techniques like parametric modeling can further trim down the design time. Hence, the present work is aimed to develop a knowledge-based parametric CAD modeling system for Spur Gear Design. This framework or system utilizes Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) incorporating the rules of AGMA in design computations and parametric modeling in CAD. SolidWorks customization is carried out to generate the spur gear CAD model based on AGMA standards. Further, this system is proven as standard, faster, and simpler gear design system when compared with conventional design system.
