Abstract

Two-dimensional multiferroics, which simultaneously possess ferroelectricity and magnetism in a single phase, are well-known to possess great potential applications in nanoscale memories and spintronics. On the basis of first-principles calculations, a CrNCl2 monolayer is reported as an intrinsic multiferroic. The CrNCl2 has an antiferromagnetic ground state, with a NĂ©el temperature of about 88 K, and it exhibits an in-plane spontaneous polarization of 200 pC/m. The magnetic moments of CrNCl2 mainly come from the d5 xy orbital of the Cr cation, but the plane of the d xy orbital is perpendicular to the direction of the ferroelectric polarization, which hardly suppresses the occurrence of ferroelectricity. Therefore, the multiferroic exits in the CrNCl2. In addition, like CrNCl2, the CrNBr2 is an intrinsic multiferroic with antiferromagnetic-ferroelectric ground state while CrNI2 is an intrinsic multiferroic with ferromagnetic-ferroelectric ground state. 110. L-band passively mode-locked fiber laser based on WS2 saturable absorber

Abstract

We demonstrate a compact erbium-doped fiber ring laser mode-locked by a WS 2 saturable absorber (SA), which operates in the telecommunication L-band. The monolayer WS 2 is synthesized by an enhanced chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method and transferred onto the end face of a fiber connector to form a fiber-compatible WS 2 SA. Stable soliton pulses centered at 1602.2 nm with a pulse duration of 1.19 ps are achieved in the laser. Our research results show that monolayer WS 2 is a promising material for L-band ultrashort pulse generation.

Abstract

In the management of capital assets owned by major enterprise, there exist some information disconnection including no information about equipment working conditions when bidding for them, no information about installation and debugging when the equipment was overhauled. Therefore, the paper proposes to establish a equipment management system based on BOM tree and RFID. Giving asset devices lifetime identity through RFID coding, which will be utilized throughout all procedures including planning and designing, bidding and procurement, construction building and so on. The paper develops some apps, such as engineering construction, warehouse management to realize data circulation throughout the equipment. Besides, with data analysis, the paper carries on equipment unit cost allocation and collection and supplier comprehensive evaluation, to guide equipment procurement and management, strengthen the whole process monitoring of asset operation status, improve the management level of asset lean management, and optimize the asset operation strategy of the company.

Abstract

We report on ultrafast-pulse generation in an erbium-doped fiber ring laser mode-locked by a graphene/WS 2 van der Waals heterostructure saturable absorber. Atomic-layered WS 2 is first synthesized on SiO 2 /Si substrate by the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method, and then graphene/WS 2 heterostructure is fabricated by transferring graphene onto the CVD-grown layered WS 2 . Taking advantage of excellent saturable absorption properties of the fabricated graphene/WS 2 heterostructure, stable soliton pulses are successfully generated in the laser with a 3-dB spectral width of 2.3 nm and a pulse duration of 1.12 ps. Numerical simulations reproduce the mode-locked pulse emission in the experiment. Our research provides a new insight for tailoring versatile two-dimensional heterostructures so as to develop ultrafast photonic applications.

132. Study of particle rebound and deposition on fibre surface.

Abstract

Fibrous filters, which are the most commonly used means of particle filtration, are generally characterized by the air pressure drop and filtration efficiency. The nature of particle movement and interaction between the particle and fibre is of great importance for measuring the filtration efficiency of fibrous filters. Majority of previous studies investigated particle trajectory and deposition using the ideal trapping model, which assumed that particles will be trapped once contacted with a solid surface (fibre or deposited particle). This work investigates the dynamic performance of particle rebound and statistically analyses the deposition/accumulation of particles on a fibre surface. We use the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method to calculate the flow field around a row of fibres. Then, we utilize a particle adherence and rebound criterion and simulate the particle trajectory and deposition using a self-developed solver in Fortran code. Effects of face velocity, particle diameter, and particle rebound characteristics on particle rebound and accumulation around one of the fibres are investigated. Additionally, the trajectories and accumulation of particles on the fibre surface are visually presented. Finally, the filtration efficiency of a single fibre is compared with published results. It is found that effects of particle rebound on the particle trajectory and deposition are significantly related to the face velocity and particle diameter. With considering the particle rebound, the filtration efficiency of a single fibre is obviously different from that of previous studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
