In the composite structure of spacecraft, the honeycomb sandwich structure is the basic bearing component used to bear and transmit loads. To explore the influencing factors on the bearing capacity of honeycomb sandwich structures, this study combines local tests and speckle measurement systems to conduct tensile tests on 10 test specimens with different parameters. Firstly, a comprehensive assessment was conducted on the accuracy of the loading and measurement system, the rationality of the testing method, and the mechanical properties of the test piece. It was found that the maximum measurement error of the speckle measurement system did not exceed 0.01 mm, and the differences between the yield load and failure load measured using different inner diameters of the compression ring were 0.15% and 3.84%, respectively. This indicates that the measurement system is accurate and that the influence of the inner diameter of the compression ring can be ignored. Moreover, it was found that considering the accuracy retention ability of the structure under load, the allowable load of the embedded parts is about 90% of the yield load. Finally, the data of specimens with different parameters were compared and it was found that the strength of the honeycomb sandwich structure is directly proportional to the thickness of the skin, the density of the honeycomb core cells, and the size of the embedded parts. Glass fiber trapezoidal corrugated sandwich structures are composed of trapezoidal cores and glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) panels. A series of low-velocity impact tests were conducted to investigate the impact resistance performance, considering the effects of impact position, impactor shape, and impactor diameter on the damage mechanism of sandwich structures. When the impactor shape and impact energy remain constant, the maximum impact load at the node impact point is higher than at the base, while the displacement of impact at the base is significantly higher than that at the node. Secondly, when the impactor diameter and energy of the impactor are the same, the hemispherical impactor requires less penetration energy to impact the sandwich structure compared to the flat impactor. Comparing the shape of the impactor, it is found that the smaller the contact surface of the impactor, the more concentrated the stress, and the lower the required penetration energy. Finally, when the impactor shape and impact energy are the same, as the diameter of impactor increases, the damage expansion during impacting on the sandwich structure becomes more sufficient, resulting in decreased impact displacement and smaller impact damage caused to the sandwich structure. Axisymmetric disk structures with complex contour curves are widely used in aero-engines. The shape optimization is generally carried out to reduce the stress level of axisymmetric disks. In this article, a shape optimization method for axisymmetric disks based on radial basis function (RBF) mesh deformation and Laplace smoothing approaches is proposed. This method can obtain the optimized reduced control points selection of mesh deformation under the influence of design space based on greedy algorithm. RBF mesh deformation is used to change the axisymmetric contour shape. And after deformation, the local mesh quality is monitored and improved by Laplace smoothing. In this article, two illustrative examples used in aero-engines are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, including an independent optimization of a turbine disk and a collaborative optimization of a turbine disk with a deflector for minimizing the maximum equivalent stress. To improve the computational efficiency, a two-dimensional (2D) axisymmetric FE model is established. Compared with initial results, optimized results in two examples obtained by the proposed optimization method reduce the maximum von Mises stress by 8.02% and 9.25%, respectively. Parkinson's disease (PD), a chronic and progressive neurodegenerative disease, can reduce the population of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra. The cause of this neuronal death remains unclear. 1‐Methyl‐4‐phenylpyridinium ion (MPP+) is a potent neurotoxin that can destroy dopaminergic (DA) neurons and promote PD. Garcinol, a polyisoprenylated benzophenone derivative, was extracted from Garcinia indica and is an important active compound it has been used as an anticancer, antioxidant, and anti‐inflammatory, agent and it can suppress reactive oxygen species (ROS) mediated cell death in a PD model. Human neuroblastoma (SH‐SY5Y) cells (1 × 105 cells) were treated with MPP+ (1 mM) for 24 h to induce cellular ROS production. The formation of ROS was suppressed by pretreatment with different concentrations of garcinol (0.5 and 1.0 μM) for 3 h in SH‐SY5Y cells. The present study found that MPP+ treatment increased the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), and the increased ROS began to promote cell death in SH‐SY5Y cells. However, our natural compound garcinol effectively blocked MPP+‐mediated ROS formation by activating the DJ‐1/SIRT1 and PGC‐1α mediated antioxidant pathway. Further findings indicate that the activated SIRT1 can also regulate p‐AMPK‐mediated autophagy to protect the neurons from the damage it concludes that garcinol sub‐sequential regulates intracellular autophagy in this model, and the productive efficacy of garcinol was confirmed by western blot analysis and MitoSOX DCFDA and MTT assays. In this article, a topology optimization method is proposed to obtain a new preliminary shape design of the twin-web turbine disc considering the burst speed constraint. The burst speed constraint is converted to the constraints on the averaged hoop stress and the maximum averaged radial stress. The linear density filter and Heaviside projection are employed to prevent the mesh dependency and chequerboard pattern and ensure distinct solid/void interfaces in the optimization result. The geometric extraction is easily implemented using the least square fitting with B-spline method. Through illustrative examples, the importance of considering the burst speed constraint in the design of turbine disc is verified, which contributes towards obtaining a safer design at the preliminary design stage. The effectiveness of the proposed method in obtaining a lighter preliminary twin-web turbine disc design is also demonstrated compared with the parametric optimization method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The topology optimization can be used to obtain preliminary turbomachinery disk designs which meet strength requirement. In order to eliminate enclosed holes which challenge manufacturing processes and to ensure distinct solid-void interface in the optimal result obtained by the topology optimization, a density distribution function is introduced for each element column in the design domain. Then, a parameter in each function is used to determine the disk's thickness at corresponding radial position by controlling element densities. Once thicknesses at all radial positions are optimized, the shape of disk is thus determined. In this way, the optimization problem can be simplified by using these parameters as design variables. Illustrative examples are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in designing both compressor disks and turbine disks in comparison to the software T-Axis Disk and shape optimization method.
