Cultural orientation is conceptualized as a moderator variable of behavior. People of different ethnic groups possess cultural orientations different from those of the majority. Assuming cultural homogeneity across all people of a given nation-state may lead to neglecting the potentially multi-layered nature of national cultural values. Cultural differences offer guidelines to equip oneself better in personal communication (Yi 2021). This study examines the cultural value orientations of Lithuania's Russian diaspora, who in 2015 made up of 4.8% national average. The research question was concerned with characteristics of value orientations concerning four dimensions of Hofstede's cultural value orientation. A total of 193 respondents of the target group completed the adopted Yoo, Donthu, and Lenartowicz's (2011) questionnaire CVSCALE. This paper reviews articles published in the Journal of Family and Economic Issues (JFEI) from 2010 to 2019 and considers future research opportunities. The JFEI articles utilize theories and conceptual frameworks from several social science fields, to help readers understand the importance of including both the family and business in any discussion of family businesses. The literature review addresses four family business topical areas: (1) household and business economics, (2) business continuity and succession, (3) managerial and adoption strategies, and (4) values and goals. These JFEI articles have focused on differentiating family businesses from other types of businesses; explaining the unique interface between the family and the business; and identifying the characteristics (i.e., demographics, adjustment strategies, continuity, capitals, and values and goals) for family business survival and success. In the future, family business researchers have the opportunity to better understand the impact of community resources and climate; more carefully assess the challenges of women, minorities, and immigrants; understand the role of cultural capital; and explore the impact of innovation during rapidly changing times, such as those created by the pandemic. Research on human–wildlife interactions has largely focused on the magnitude of wildlife‐caused damage, and the patterns and correlates of human attitudes and behaviors. We assessed the role of five pathways through which various correlates potentially influence human responses toward wild animals, namely, value orientation, social interactions (i.e. social cohesion and support), dependence on resources such as agriculture and livestock, risk perception and nature of interaction with the wild animal. We specifically evaluated their influence on people's responses toward two large carnivores, the snow leopard Panthera uncia and the wolf Canis lupus in an agropastoral landscape in the Indian Trans‐Himalaya. We found that the nature of the interaction (location, impact and length of time since an encounter or depredation event), and risk perception (cognitive and affective evaluation of the threat posed by the animal) had a significant influence on attitudes and behaviors toward the snow leopard. For wolves, risk perception and social interactions (the relationship of people with local institutions and inter‐community dynamics) were significant. Our findings underscore the importance of interventions that reduce people's threat perceptions from carnivores, improve their connection with nature and strengthen the conservation capacity of local institutions especially in the context of wolves. China's rapid modernization has generated a vibrant online community over the past 20 years. While there is an established body of work on the impact of traditional media on political opinion in China, the patterns and political impact of media engagement among tens of millions of Chinese 'netizens' remain under-researched. Using data from the 2015 Chinese Netizens Attitudes Survey, this paper attempts to ameliorate this issue. The results of latent class analysis suggested that most Chinese netizens tend to be active followers of social media and to display low levels of interest in state media. We found that respondents in the online survey were overall much more critical of political institutions on different levels comparing to existing findings based on offline surveys. Those netizens who were strongly attached to social media appeared to be significantly less likely to advocate authoritarian, collectivist, and nationalistic values and to display much lower levels of political trust, whereas the opposite was true of those who were strongly attached to state media. These findings suggest that social media serves as an incubator for critical political reviews and liberal values in China's online communities, challenging the influence of traditional state-sanctioned media. Advertisers put considerable effort into developing messages that appeal to a persuadable target group. Based on the characteristics of these audiences, as well as a number of situational factors, advertising messages can be described as primarily informational or emotional. The purpose of this study was to test how the value orientation of a sports-related event and situational involvement moderate consumers' information processing and attitudes toward the event advertisement. Consistent with dual-process theory, the results indicate that, when dealing with information about a utilitarian sports career-fair event, consumers rely on either effortful or effortless processing depending on their level of situational involvement. However, consumers use both effortful and effortless processing for a hedonic sporting event. This study extends the dual-process theory and planning models by suggesting that a traditional, theory-based dichotomous dual-process model should give way to a co-occurrence model for hedonic sporting events in high-involvement situations. Background: Values are deeply held views that act as guiding beliefs for individuals and organizations. They state what is important in a profession. The aims of this study were to determine whether European countries have already developed (or are developing) documents on core values in family medicine; to gather the lists of core values already developed in countries; and to gather the opinions of participants on what the core family values in their countries are.Methods: This was a qualitative study. The questionnaire was distributed as an e-survey via email to present and former members of the European Society for Quality and Safety in Family Practice (EQuiP), and other family medicine experts in Europe. The questionnaire included six items concerning core values in family medicine in the respondent's country: the process of defining core values, present core values, the respondents' suggestions for core values, and current challenges of core values.Results: Core values in family medicine were defined or in a process of being defined in several European countries. The most common core values already defined were the doctor-patient relationship, continuity, comprehensiveness and holistic care, community orientation, and professionalism. Some countries expressed the need for an update of the current core values' list. Most respondents felt the core values of their discipline were challenged in today's world. The main values challenged were continuity, patient-centered care/the doctor-patient relationship and comprehensive and holistic care, but also prioritization, equity, and community orientation and cooperation. These were challenged by digital health, workload/lack of family physicians, fragmentation of care, interdisciplinary care, and societal trends and commercial interests.Conclusion: We managed to identify suggestions for core values of family medicine at the European level. There is a clear need to adopt a definition of a value and tailor the discussion and actions on the family medicine core values accordingly. There is also a need to identify the core values of family medicine in European countries. This could strengthen the profession, promote its development and research, improve education, and help European countries to advocate for the profession.

The political attitude and value orientation of young teachers in colleges and universities play an important role in running a socialist university with China’s characteristics, cultivating young people’s correct values and builders of socialism with China’s characteristics. To explore the influencing factors of young university teachers’ political attitudes and value orientation, by constructing the interpretive structure model (ISM) and fuzzy theory, seven major influencing factors were analyzed that affect the political attitude and value orientation of young teachers in colleges and universities, and a hierarchical structure between influencing factors was explained. As a basic basis, this study puts forward the countermeasures to improve the political quality of young teachers in colleges and universities, strengthen the propaganda and ideological work in universities, and promote the overall education reform. At present, the development degree of regional travel has exceeded the carrying capacity of the environment, which seriously damages the ecolog-ical environment and affects the process of ecolog-ical self-restoration. To this end, the paper puts forward a method based on stakeholder theory for the multi-dimensional collaborative governance of travel ecological environment in the whole region. The regional travel stakeholders are divided into government departments, tourist groups, local resi-dents and travel enterprises, and the interest de-mands of different stakeholders are analyzed to locate relevant roles. Based on this, this paper ex-plores its value orientation and explains the motivation of ecological environmental governance. According to the results of eco-environmental governance process, an architecture model of stakeholder participation in environmental governance is constructed. On the basis of the region-wide travel system architecture, ensure the equality of power and resources, expand communication channels, and form a good start of collaborative governance; Cultivate multiple subjects and stabilize the order of coordinated governance; Establish laws and regulations, improve compensation and accountability mechanism, standardize governance behavior; We should define common goals, strengthen govern-ance effects, and achieve sustainable development of regionally wide travel through diversified and coordinated governance. This study explores the characteristics of collaboration between people with Japanese value orientation in co-design workshops. We define co-design as an approach where designers collaborate with non-designers to design new products or services. This research investigates the effect of culture and value orientation on co-design between designers and non-designers in a Japanese context. Through interviews with four professional designers, we identified that the participation of Japanese non-designers in a co-design workshop might be hindered by the presence of an expert, who is perceived as a person in a higher social position. With 20 subjects, we experimentally investigated the impact of power distance on collaboration. European and Japanese groups of non-designers generated and discussed ideas in two conditions – with or without a professional designer in the group. Through behaviour and speech analysis, we assessed the quality of collaboration within the group. Depending on their power distance score, the contributions of participants were affected differently by the presence of a professional designer. Unlike in the European groups, the presence of a designer in a Japanese group created a hierarchical structure that hindered the participation of non-designers. Each art has its own system of features and laws through which it reflects important aspects of objective reality. Choreography belongs to the spectacular, synthetic, space‑time forms of art that combine dance, music, dramaturgy (ballet) and plastic art. Dance, as well as any other art, also has its own characteristic means that reflect the real world through artistic imagery, thus emphasizing its specificity, which consists of transmitting human ideas and feelings through movements, gestures and mimics. In the process of analyzing choreographic art from an axiological point of view, we have established the aesthetic laws and opportunities of dance, which are currently relevant factors in the formation of aesthetic values in students‑choreographers. They, in their turn, have a unique opportunity to express the full wealth of personal values through dance, flexibility, movement, mimics and gestures, through both mainstream and distinct creative research, and also to teach others this art.

The paper features the dynamics of the internalization of the professional values in university students of deontology direction during their training. The research employed such research methods as D.A. Leontyev’s test of life-sense orientations, the questionnaire of the level of subjective control, and M. Rokich’s test. The paper presents some results of a longitudinal study of the internalization of the professional values in the future specialists of the deontological profile at various stages of study at the university. The authors used a sample group of 120 students to prove some significant differences in value-semantic characteristics. They conducted a comparative analysis of the value-semantic orientations of the students, who majored in various subjects. The students of the deontological profile revealed a stronger internalization of professional values, as well as stronger professional selfrealization, interpersonal relations, altruistic values, and values of the acceptance of others. The authors believe that the organization of educational process influences the structure of value-semantic orientations of university students. They prove that practice-oriented methods help students cope with the crisis of professional development. The results of the research can be used in the educational process at various educational institutions, as well as in consulting students on the problems of personal and professional development.

Results of an empirical research of features of valuable (axiological) reliability of staff of bodies of internal affairs are presented in article. It is shown that the problem of reliability is staticized in the sphere of law-enforcement activity in connection with violations, mistakes and the crimes committed by staff of bodies of internal affairs at interaction with citizens. Within a research task comparison of indicators of the valuable sphere of the identity of the law enforcement officers who are at various stages of a professiogenez and the former police officers condemned for corruption and abuse of office is carried out. Significant differences in valuable orientation between groups of the acting employees and condemned by group in priorities of values of pragmatical orientation, experience of conflictness in realization of values, aspirations to implementation of values of egoistical and prestigious orientation are established. It is suggested that the high importance external (pragmatical), values in values of indicators of persons with the higher education of convicts can act as a marker of risks of reliability.

Markets and industries are currently characterized by high dynamics, leading to diverse and volatile customer requirements. This complex market environment fosters the appearance of innovations with high novelty and uncertainty. As a result, the probability of disruptive innovations (DI) increases, which have the potential to change markets in the long-term and represent an existential threat especially to established companies. Against this background, the question arises if companies can proactively create DI. For this reason, innovation portfolio management (IPM) aims to identify the most promising new product ideas. However, the identification of DI is challenging because of their characteristics such as low comparability with existing products and uncertain customer reactions. For this reason, the literature highlights that no approaches exist that integrate and consider DI in IPM. This paper introduces a practical concept methodology to implement DI in IPM that can be placed in the early phase of product development, focusing on the potential evaluation of diverse product ideas. The concept provides a five-step approach, which can be roughly divided into the anticipation of the product idea's disruptive potential and the holistic evaluation of the product ideas. In view of the poor distribution of the spatial structure of rural sports tourism destinations, which results in low accuracy of classification, it is proposed to study the spatial structure of rural sports tourism destinations from the perspective of sunshine sports. We obtain the rural sports tourism destination data through the classic theory of tourism destinations, collect the rural tourism destination data into the operating system, analyze market factors and natural environmental factors, and determine the spatial structure characteristics of rural sports tourism destinations. In addition, we use the radius of gyration method to proceed spatial structure division, obtain the spatial structure curve of rural sports tourism destinations, and judge regional differences. After that, we divide the differences by constructing the spatial structure, process the location of the difference information, adjust the processed location information, and calibrate the spatial data according to the processed information. Finally, we obtain the corresponding division condition parameters, sort out the spatial structure information according to the condition parameters, and realize the division of the spatial structure of rural sports tourism destinations. The results show that the spatial structure of rural sports tourism destinations from the perspective of sunshine sports are more consistent with the expected locations, and the accuracy of the division is higher. The goal of college English teaching is not only to convey language knowledge and improve students' language skills, but also closely related to the current political, economic, social and cultural realities. Its textbooks are largely a manifestation of the country's dominant ideology and also the way the ruling class realizes social control. This study, based on Professor Apple's theory of critical pedagogy, attempts to provide an insight into the most commonly used college EFL textbooks in Mainland China and show what and how ideologies and values are presented on the pages. Literature and content analysis methods are employed. The results reveal that the two sets of textbooks are imbued with the ideological ideas which center on the theme of "harmony", highlighting the peaceful coexistence between the country, society and individuals. Dominant ideologies have been implemented as the core spirit of textbook compilation, and the themes such as multiplicity, equality, tolerance and so on frequently appear in explicit and implicit ways. The implicitness of political ideologies, the prominence of economic development, the dominance of social issues, the awakening of individual consciousness, etc. are expressed and transmitted through EFL textbooks. This study was designed to investigate to association between motivational action conflict frequency and value orientation as well as sociodemographic correlates of value orientation among Turkish high school students. Participants consisted of 846 students in different high schools from Marmara Region of Turkey and completed Motivational Action Conflict Frequency Survey and Value Orientation Scale. Results of this study suggested that students have average well-being value orientation and low achievement value orientation. There was no significant association between achievement and well-being value orientation and school-leisure time conflict; however, a weak and positive significant relationship exist between achievement value orientation and school time-school time conflict and leisure time-leisure time conflict, and there was a negative low-level significant relationship between well-being value orientation and school time-school time conflict and leisure time-leisure time conflict. The students' achievement and well-being value orientation were significantly different based on gender and daily studying times. Well-being value orientation associated with high school type, but no significant difference found in achievement value orientation. Lastly, there was no significant difference in value orientation in terms of grade level. The results of this study may also help to understand the correlates of value orientation and motivational conflict frequency in Turkish literature where a very limited number of studies have been conducted. This study aims to examine the relationships between value orientations and motivational action conflicts of adolescents and to determine how the value orientations predict motivational action conflicts and motivational action conflicts predicts value orientations. The research was carried out within the framework of the cross-sectional screening model. The research group consists of 833 (50.9% girls, 49.1% boys) students who are studying in different types of high schools (Science High School, Anatolian High School, High School, and Technical High School) in Kocaeli province. In research, the "Value Orientations Scale" and the "Motivational Action Conflict Scale" have been used as data collection tools. As a result of the research, there were significant relationships between value orientations and motivational action conflict. In conflict, which constitutes a conflict of motivational action, the decision was made as a result of learning, studying and leisure time meaningfully predicts achievement value orientations. It was also found that decision, learning, studying and leisure time in conflict significantly predicts well-being value orientations. It has been determined that achievement and well-being value orientations significantly predict decisions in conflict. Again, achievement and well-being value orientations are found to be a meaningful predictor of learning/studying. Besides, achievement and well-being have resulted in value orientations meaningfully predicting leisure time. A worldwide survey by Hardman and Marshall (2001) indicated a decline in the state and status of Physical Education (PE) in many countries. Using a modified Physical Education and School Sport (PESS) questionnaire (Bailey and Dismore, 2005), we examined age and gender differences in the perception and value orientation of PESS among 285 children in South-West Poland. Data analysis yielded marked age and gender differences with respect to feelings about PESS, its importance relative to other school subjects and development of social skills. Children's responses were categorized as physical, cognitive, social, affective, lifestyle and environmental based on the outcomes and benefits of PESS (Bailey, 2006). The children attributed their positive feelings toward PESS and favorite part of PESS to the physical domain. This finding was consistent across age and gender categories, except that a tendency toward decline in the importance of the physical domain was found among older children. The need for learners' value orientation to be considered by teachers and curriculum developers to design and implement quality PESS programs is discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the era of legal globalization, e-commerce platform increasingly mature environment, in order to better meet the practical requirements of e-commerce activities, in the process of e-commerce legislation, practice, should always adhere to the value orientation of fair and equitable legal benefits, and by respecting the existing legal framework, integrate the operation and development environment of computer networks, and formulate e-commerce law in line with the modern e-commerce environment, effectively safeguard the order of e-commerce activities. Based on the analysis of the current situation of e-commerce practice and the legislation of e-commerce law, this paper puts forward the value orientation and practical suggestions of e-commerce law based on computer network.

The article presents the results of a free associative experiment. The purpose of the experiment was to determine the categorical components of the value system of the American ethnic group at the present stage. The associative fields obtained as a result of the experiment are analyzed by the authors using the method of lexical units semantic grouping within each field with the subsequent identification of the leading value categories of the value system. The results of these fields analysis allow to draw the following conclusions: the main value categories of the American ethnic group are (ranked in descending order of percentage): “Success”, “Positivism”, “Diligence”, “Patriotism”, “Individualism”, “Family”, “Religiousness”. Private property is a basic component of American life, and individualism is a central organizing principle of interpersonal relations. The traditional value orientations “Family” and “Religiousness” do not occupy priority positions today. Stimuli related to politics, are evaluated ambivalently: in their associative fields there are groups of both positive reactions and groups with a large and average number of negative reactions (stimuli Revolution (as a political event), Constitution). This experiment is a part of a major study devoted to the comparison of value systems of Russian and American language groups.

This work contains the model of forming the students' value priorities on healthy lifestyle based on the following levels: influence of the government, influence of the educational institution, influence of surrounding community, and self-motivation. The analysis of government motivation system used in Russia is given as well as how this policy integrated into the activities of the educational institution (on example of Saratov State Medical University n.a. V. I. Razumovsky).

To achieve sustainable development, efforts should go beyond cleaner production to sustainable consumption. Sustainable consumption has become increasingly important to prevent non-environmental practices of producers. So, the aim of this study is to investigate the factors that influence environmental purchase behavior with an emphasis on dominant value orientations in the society. For this study, the data have been collected from Iranians who buy or use organic products at least once. A survey questionnaire was distributed among customers in five provinces of Iran, which have centers of producing and selling organic food products. The result showed that altruistic and biospheric value orientations are the factors that affect consumers’ environmental attitudes; however, the impact of the egoistic value orientation on environmental attitudes is not confirmed. Additionally, the egoistic value orientation has direct effects on tendency for environmental purchasing. In this case, the impacts of altruistic and biospheric value orientations are not confirmed. The implications for marketers and environmentalists are discussed, and future research directions are presented.

This study aims to reveal the role of value orientations regarding the differentiation between the two groups living in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and described as Turkish Cypriot and Turkish Immigrant. The concept of Turkish Cypriot is used to describe the descendants of the Turks who were sent to the island during the Ottoman period and who are currently residing in the TRNC; the concept of Turkish Immigrant is used to describe the TRNC citizens migrated to the island from Turkey after the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation. The population of the study is TRNC citizens and the sample consists of 337 people (165 Turkish Cypriots (49%) and 172 Turkish Immigrants (51%)) selected by simple random method. Schwartz Values Scale was applied to the participants in order to determine their value orientations. The applied scale is the version of the original scale which has been changed to 11 value groups by adding religiosity variable. As a result of the logistic regression analysis, it was found that all value orientations together predicted whether the participants were Turkish Cypriot or Turkish Immigrant. On the other hand, when value orientations were taken individually, only religiosity, stimulation and hedonism values significantly predicted being Turkish Cypriot or Turkish Immigrant. Accordingly, 68.2% of the participants were correctly predicted to join the groups. Value orientations predicted membership to the Turkish Immigrant group (73.3%) at a higher rate than membership to the Turkish Cypriot group (63.0%). 126 out of 172 Turkish Immigrants and 104 out of 165 Turkish Cypriots were correctly predicted to be members of their own group. The total number of North Korean defectors living in South Korea topped 33,247 in 2019. Yet research finds that many are experiencing difficulties adapting to South Korean society. This study, based on a survey of 1,010 defectors, outlines a new typology of the value systems of North Korean defectors. Using a combination of factor and cluster analysis, we identify five major groups of North Korean defectors: (1) nation-oriented authoritarians, (2) community-oriented materialists, (3) family-oriented traditionalists, (4) conservative entrepreneurs, and (5) individualist conservatives. We show that value orientations are associated with distinctive political views and have demonstrable effects on adaptation and life satisfaction levels, with conservative entrepreneurs faring best. Although all groups adapt reasonably well to operating in a very different political and economic system and in their personal lives, defectors report significant problems at the social level, particularly in the form of discrimination. These findings suggest that more 'customized policy' be developed and implemented for North Korean defectors which ultimately helps them adjust more smoothly to South Korean society. This article examines China's government reforms over the past 40 years from an instrumental–structural and a cultural–value perspective with the aim of exploring the supposed shift from New Public Management (NPM) to post-NPM. It finds that some aspects of the Old Public Administration (OPA) have been combined with NPM and post-NPM features in a layering process, resulting in new hybrid organizational forms and value orientations. In particular, the analysis shows that China's post-NPM-oriented reforms have focused on positive coordination in the sense of super-ministries and networks on the one hand and value-based governance with a service orientation on the other hand. The folklore studies scholar, such as Dorson (1976, Folklore and fakelore: Essays toward the discipline of folk studies, Harvard: Harvard University Press), was emphatic about the distinction between folklore and 'fake lore', one being authentic and the other as invented by the popular industry; however, he paradoxically maintained interest in the contemporariness of folklore. This was a paradox since the contemporariness of folklore is largely, and usually, due to intersections of folk with popular and political. Nevertheless, the emphasis on contemporariness was a harbinger of discussion on the potential dynamics of folklore, and everything buried therein, including value orientation. This essay is guided by the observations emerging from folklore studies, socio-cultural anthropology and performance studies in order to get into a specific case of Bihu, a folk performance inclusive of songs, dance, attires and instruments inter alia in Assam, in the northeast of India. The curious case of Bihu in flux divulges dynamics of value orientation and intersections of identity politics, in the wake of the contemporariness of folklore. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The New Urban Agenda approved at Habitat III - The United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development in 2016, promises to achieve the urban transition toward sustainability in response to future challenges facing cities worldwide. In the current context of new urbanization in China, urban development is experiencing a transition from incremental development to regeneration. In order to realize people-oriented objectives, planners need to gain scientific understanding of urban development and grasp the basic concepts of urban design and value orientation, so that they can shape spaces that meet diverse needs, achieve social inclusion and enhance the quality of urban life. The purpose of this paper is to reiterate the importance of studying urban development from the "society-space" perspective and the concern about its values in urban design. The paper analyzes and discusses the characteristics of urban development and changes in social needs that appear in the practice of urban design from the perspective of society-space relationship. In addition, it emphasizes the spatial-temporal characteristics and value orientation in the development of urban design theory and practice. Considering China's current urban background, the paper also argues that the current transformation of urban design practice needs to be guided by theories on human settlements and reinforce three important aspects of urban design characteristics and values: seeking truth from science, seeking kindness in humanities, and seeking beauty through art. The study is trying to contribute to the knowledge of the development and behaviour of the inhabitants of buffer zones. It is based on the historical development of the Hlučinsko region and the Czechoslovakia, later the Czech Republic. A set of questions is formulated based on the developmental differences between the two territories. A survey was carried out in 2014 of 604 respondents of the Hlučinsko region and 1000 respondents of the entire Czech Republic. From the point of view of value orientation, the results of the survey show Hlučinsko region inhabitants to be still different from those of the entire Czech Republic, without, however, showing substantial differences between the two youngest age cohorts. It is the middle age cohort that plays the key role in the changes of value orientation. In the Hlučinsko region, changes in value orientation are mainly due to the increasing role of education. Self assessment of the Hlučinsko region inhabitants combines traditionalism and openness to change. It may be a consequence of their ability to adapt to the pressure of the administration of the respective state to which they belonged. On the basis of the data obtained, it can be concluded that the youngest age cohort of Hlučinsko region inhabitants is already integrated into Czech society.

Акцентируется внимание, что изучение принципов развития ценностной ориентации школьников на рабочие профессии необходимо с целью проектирования образовательных программ и внедрения их в практику общеобразовательных организаций. Описываются принципы развития ценностной ориентации школьников на рабочие профессии, которые сформулированы для школьных уровней образования.
