117. Comparisons of Adherence to Antiretroviral Therapy in a High-Risk Population in China: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Abstract

Background Reports on antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence are scare in China; we performed this meta-analysis to estimate ART adherence rates in different populations at high risk for HIV transmission in China. Methods We searched PubMed, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (Chinese), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (Chinese), and Wanfang (Chinese) to identify studies published from January 1985 to May 2015. We used random-effects meta-analysis to calculate weighted mean estimates across studies and 95% CIs. Data were pooled with proportions transformed prior to pooling using the Freeman–Tukey double arcsine transformation and then back transformed to the original scale. We calculated the I2 (and its 95% confidence intervals) and tau2 to assess between-study heterogeneity. Results We identified 36 eligible articles, including 6885 HIV-positive individuals, reporting ART adherence. Pooled analysis produced an estimate of 77.61% (95% CI = 71.63–83.08) of patients with HIV with adequate adherence; however, high heterogeneity was observed between studies (I2 = 96.60%, 95%CI = 96.00%-97.20%; tau2 = 0.16). Three studies, which included 149 old HIV-infected patients, reported the highest ART adequate adherence rate (89.39%, 95% CI = 72.01–99.26) with high heterogeneity between the studies (I2 = 86.20%, 95%CI = 60.00–95.20%; tau2 = 0.13). While, only two studies, which included 143 heterosexual transmission group (HTG) patients, reported the lowest ART adequate adherence rate (51.55%, 95% CI = 41.33–61.71) with low heterogeneity between the studies (I2 = 31.3%, tau2 = 0.007). In the multivariable meta-regression model, high-risk populations was the main factor explaining heterogeneity (variance explained 28.14%). Conclusions ART adherence in some high-risk populations (e.g., heterosexual transmission group) is below the recommended levels for maintaining virologic suppression. It is crucial to develop comprehensive intervention strategies to promote ART adherence in high-risk populations and effectively prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in China.

Abstract

Mesoporous TiO2 with anatase crystalline structure (MTiO2/F2319) has been synthesized by using vinylidene fluoride/chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer (1:9 in mole, F2319) as template. The synthesized mesoporous titania samples were characterized by a combination of various physicochemical techniques, such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and N2 adsorption/desorption. It was found that without any external doping, MTiO2/F2319 exhibited significantly higher photocatalytic activities for the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) dye than P25 TiO2 under visible light irradiation. Furthermore, the UV-Vis absorption maximum of the dye solution exhibited a gradual hypsochromic shift due to de-ethylation and degradation of RhB dye.

Abstract

This paper speaks to the problem of cuttings suspended difficultly when drilling in coarse sand formations. The authors research the right kind of drilling fluid for the program and the effects of components on properties of the drilling fluid. The test results show that with the content of bentonite, NaOH and CMC increasing, the viscosity of drilling fluid shows a growing trend. NaOH has a greater impact on the ability of suspended cuttings. By orthogonal testing to determine the optimal drilling fluid, it provides a reference for the construction site.

Abstract

Abstract: Ternary polymer solar cells (PSCs) based on multiple materials with level matching and complementary absorptions are regarded as an efficient way to overcome the light‐harvesting restriction to surpass high‐performance binary PSCs. This study introduces the third component, nonfullerene acceptor IEICO, into binary PSC‐based PBDTBDD:PC71BM to fabricate ternary PSC with one donor and two acceptors. By carefully tuning the third component ratio and cathode engineering, the resulting ternary PSC shows a power conversion efficiency of 10.51%, greatly improved in comparison with binary PSCs‐based PBDTBDD:PC71BM (7.86%) and PBDTBDD:IEICO (5.19%). In addition to extended light absorption, the third component IEICO could accelerate charge‐carrier transfer, decrease charge recombination, and increase electron collection, resulting from cascade energy levels, and ameliorate the device morphology to increase the contact area of the active layer and cathode buffer layer. This work demonstrates that ternary PSC incorporated with IEICO is a promising structure for producing high performance PSCs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

New breakthroughs are expecting to be achieved based on the discovery of novel interfacial materials for polymer solar cells (PSCs). Herein, the simple and facial approach of spin-coating technology with post heat and ultraviolet-ozone treatment is performed on niobium oxalate to prepare Nb 2 O 5 interfacial layer with ultra-high transmittance. The ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy results confirm that Nb 2 O 5 with a work function of 4.85 eV is suitable for employing as anode buffer layer (ABL). The average power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of the P3HT:PCBM-based fullerene devices with Nb 2 O 5 ABL reaches to 4.01%, surpassing that (3.69%) of the control devices with ITO/PEDOT:PSS ABL. Further investigations on the PBDB-T:ITIC-based non-fullerene PSCs with Nb 2 O 5 ABL demonstrate that a PCE as high as 8.67% can be reached, which is superior to that of device modified by PEDOT:PSS ABL (8.03%). Namely, 8% efficiency improvement in PSCs based on fullerene and non-fullerene acceptors realized as compared to the control devices with PEDOT:PSS ABL. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The development of highly efficient and low-cost solar cells is the key to large-scale application of solar photovoltaic technology. In recent years, the solution-processed organic-inorganic perovskite solar cells attracted considerable attention because of their advantages of high energy conversion efficiency, low cost, and ease of processing. The ambipolar semiconducting characteristic of perovskite enables the construction of planar heterojunction architecture to be possible in perovskite-based solar cells. This kind of architecture avoids the use of mesoporous metal oxide film, which simplifies the processing route and makes it easier to fabricate flexible and tandem perovskite-based solar cells. Planar heterojunction perovskite solar cells can be divided into n-i-p type and p-i-n type according to the charge flow direction. Two interfaces are formed between perovskite film and hole/electron transport layer, where efficient charge separation can be realized. Hole and electron transport layers can form separated continuous paths for the transport of holes and electrons, thus beneficial to improving exciton separation, charge transportation, and collection efficiency. In addition, this planar architecture avoids the use of high temperature sintered mesoporous metal oxide framework; this is beneficial to expanding the choice of the charge transport materials. In this paper, we review the recent progress on the planar heterojunction perovskite solar cells. First, we introduce the material properties of perovskite, the evolution of device architecture, and the working principle of p-i-n type and n-i-p type planar heterojunction perovskite solar cells. Then, we review the recent progress and optimization of planar heterojunction perovskite solar cells from every aspect of perovskite preparation and the selection of electron/hole transport materials. Finally, we would like to give a perspective view on and address the concerns about perovskite solar cells.
