103. New method for allocating high-speed railway infrastructure costs among train types

Abstract

With the rapid development of China's high-speed railway (HSR), there are also many problems. For example, in the classification and calculation of HSR transportation costs, there is a lack of reasonable cost statistical methods. There are many types of high-speed train currently running on HSR (mainly G and D trains). There are differences in the speed, load and energy consumption of different types of trains. The resulting infrastructure usage costs also vary. However, all train costs are classified and calculated uniformly in practice. This paper proposes the expenditure rate method of the transport process allocating the infrastructure use costs among types of trains. Based on data from the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, the cost of infrastructure is calculated, and the calculation results can reasonably reflect the cost allocation among types of trains. It makes the cost calculation of high-speed railway more accurate and lays a foundation for environmental cost calculation.

Abstract

Background: Quartz album is one of the mineral drugs commonly used in Chinese medicine. Different geogenesis of Quartz album led to differences in its composition and thus affected its clinical efficacy. Mineral Chinese medicines are mainly composed of inorganic elements, including some heavy metals and harmful elements, so their quality control is crucial to their clinical safety. Materials and Methods: In this study, the contents of 30 elements in 13 batches Quartz album of different origins were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Multiple elements and chemometrics were used to distinguish its different geogenesis. Results: We found that the top elements in order of content were as follows: Al>Fe>Ca>K>Mg>Ti>Mn, all with content greater than 100 µg/g. In addition, the contents ranges of Pb, Cd, As, Hg, and Cu were 1.603–637.705, 0.011–1.387, 0.348–41.298, 0.033–10.877, and 0.808–86.482 µg/g, respectively. Quartz albums produced in Fengyang County, Anhui Province, had the lowest content of heavy metals. Correlation analysis showed that there was a strong correlation among the elements in the samples. Chemometrics were used to analyze the elemental content, and the results of the different models were found to be consistent and could be used to distinguish between Quartz albums of different geogenesis. Abstract

Understanding the large-scale causal relationship among brain regions is crucial for elucidating the information flow that the brain integrates external stimuli and generates behaviors. Despite the availability of neurostimulation and computational methods to infer causal relationships among a limited number of regions, these approaches are not capable of mapping the causal network of the entire brain, also known as the effective brain connectome (EBC). To address this gap, we propose a data-driven framework called Neural Perturbational Inference (NPI) and map the human EBC for the first time. NPI uses an artificial neural network trained to learn large-scale neural dynamics as a surrogate brain. By perturbing each region of the surrogate brain and observing the resulting responses in all other regions, the human EBC is obtained. This connectome captures the directionality, strength, and excitatory-inhibitory distinction of brain-wide causal relationships, offering mechanistic insights into cognitive processes. EBC provides a complete picture of information flow both within and across brain functional networks as well as reveals the large-scale hierarchy of the organization of excitatory and inhibitory ECs. As EBC captures the neurostimulation transmission pathways in the brain, it has great potential to guide the target selection in personalized neurostimulation of neurological disorders.

Abstract

Simple Summary: Oaks (Quercus spp.) are a major component of subtropical and temperate forests in the Northern Hemisphere. There are approximately 464 species, and they are dominant tree species in ecosystems. Oaks have a long history of cultivation in Europe, North America, and other continents. They are also cultivated and distributed in most provinces of China. In this paper, Quercus germplasm resource distribution, ecological adaptability, and utilization are explored. All evidence indicates that oaks have been widely distributed since ancient times and have greater functional value than other species in the Fagaceae family. This review will provide a deeper understanding of oak conservation, development, and utilization in China. Oaks exhibit unique biological characteristics and high adaptability to complex climatic and soil conditions. They are widely distributed across various regions, spanning 40 degrees latitude and 75 degrees longitude. The total area of oak forest in China is 16.72 million hm2. There are 60 lineages of Quercus in China, including 49 species, seven varieties, and four subgenera. Archaeological data indicate that oaks were already widely distributed in ancient times, and they are dominant trees in vast regions of China's forests. In addition, the acorn was an important food for ancestral humans, and it has accompanied human civilization since the early Paleolithic. Diverse oak species are widely distributed and have great functional value, such as for greening, carbon sequestration, industrial and medicinal uses, and insect rearing. Long-term deforestation, fire, diseases, and pests have led to a continuous decline in oak resources. This study discusses the Quercus species and their distribution in China, ecological adaptation, and the threats facing the propagation and growth of oaks in a changing world. This will give us a better understanding of Quercus resources, and provide guidance on how to protect and better utilize germplasm resources in China. Abstract

Background Seroconversion of hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) is a critical event in the natural course of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Aim We herein characterize the virological factors associated with postpartum spontaneous HBeAg seroconversion. Methods A total of 214 pregnant women positive for both hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and HBeAg were followed up at 7–12 months postpartum. Results Of the subjects, 26 (12.1%) achieved spontaneous HBeAg seroconversion. Receiver operating curve analysis indicated that HBV DNA level Conclusion These results suggest that quantitative determination of virological markers and sequencing PC and BCP can predict spontaneous HBeAg seroconversion, which could be valuable in deciding antiviral therapy against HBV.

147. Exact and Approximate Squarers for Error-Tolerant Applications

Abstract

Approximate computing is considered an innovative paradigm with wide applications to high performance and low power systems. These applications have relaxed requirements for accuracy, so they can tolerate errors in results and achieve high performance. In approximate computing, multipliers have been widely studied, but squarers (as similar schemes) have not received much attention. In this paper, an accurate squarer is designed based on a Radix-8 Booth-folding square algorithm to reduce the number of partial products and the depth of the partial product array. Several approximate squarers (R8AS1, R8AS2 and R8AS3) are proposed based on the exact squarer to reduce power and delay. Two approximate partial product generators are also designed to simplify the Radix-8 Booth square encoder in R8AS1 and R8AS2. In addition, approximate compressors with compensation are used in the partial product compression stage to reduce additional area and power consumption in R8AS3. Synthesis results for power, area, and delay at 28nm CMOS technology are presented. Compared with designs in the technical literature with the same accuracy, the proposed 16-bit designs reduce the PDP by 37%; in general, the PDP is decreased by up to 51%. Finally, the proposed approximate squarers are implemented in a square-law detector as a communication application and achieve an SNR close to 30dB. Also, the three proposed approximate squarers are applied to the k-means clustering algorithm for machine learning to accomplish high performance in classification.
