The paper corrugation tube is an innovative kind of energy absorbing structure and shock absorber which can play an important role on the cushioning energy absorption for airdrop equipments and transportation packaging. The deformation characteristics and failure modes of the regular triangle, quadrangle, pentagon and hexagon paper corrugation tubes were comparatively studied by a series of axial static compression experiments, the cushioning energy absorption was evaluated by the seven characteristic parameters (e.g. initial peak force, mean crush force, total energy absorption, specific energy absorption, crush force efficiency, unit area energy absorption and stroke efficiency), and the influences of tube direction, cross-sectional shape, tube length and compression rate on failure modes and cushioning energy absorption were analyzed and compared. These researches showed that the tubes along X direction only have the accordion deformation mode, yet the tubes along Y direction have four deformation modes including steady state progressive buckling, Euler buckling, angular tear and transverse shear. For the paper corrugation tubes along Y direction, the cross-sectional shape has obvious influence on the cushioning energy absorption of structures, and the specific energy absorption and unit area energy absorption of regular triangle and pentagon tubes are better than those of the tubes with regular quadrilateral and hexagonal cross-section at compression rates of 12 and 48mm/min. The tube length of 150 mm or compression rate of 72 mm/min would cause the increase of contribution proportion of non-ideal deformation mode and the decrease of cushioning properties. The paper corrugation tubes along X direction have more stable and controllable deformation mode, yet the paper corrugation tubes along Y direction have better cushioning energy absorption.

Room-temperature two-dimensional antiferromagnetic (AFM) materials are highly desirable for various device applications. In this letter, we report the low-energy electronic structure of KMnBi measured by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, which confirms an AFM ground state with the valence band maximum located at −100 meV below the Fermi level and small hole effective masses associated with the sharp band dispersion. Using complementary Raman, atomic force microscope and electric transport measurement, we systematically study the evolution of electric transport characteristics of micro-mechanically exfoliated KMnBi with varied flake thicknesses, which all consistently reveal the existence of a probable AFM ground state down to the quintuple-layer regime. The AFM phase transition temperature ranges from 220 K to 275 K, depending on the thickness. Our results suggest that with proper device encapsulation, multilayer KMnBi is indeed a promising 2D AFM platform for testing various theoretical proposals for device applications.

Monoclinic α-MoP2, with the OsGe2-type structure (space group C2/m, Z = 4) and lattice parameters a = 8.7248(11) Å, b = 3.2322(4) Å, c = 7.4724(9)Å, and β = 119.263°, was synthesized under a pressure of 4~GPa at a temperature between 1100 °C and 1200 °C. The structure of α-MoP2 and its relationship to other transition metal diphosphides are discussed. Surprisingly, the ambient pressure phase orthorhombic β-MoP2 (space group Cmc21) is denser in structure than α-MoP2. Room-temperature high-pressure x-ray diffraction studies exclude the possibility of phase transition from β-MoP2 to α-MoP2, suggesting that α-MoP2 is a stable phase at ambient conditions; this is also supported by the total energy and phonon calculations.

Since people around the world have gradually attached importance to resource conservation, various countries are actively taking measures to promote environmental protection and sustainable development. Green supply chain management (GSCM) have emerged in this context. Thus, in this essay, a novel intuitionistic fuzzy multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) method is designed to tackle this issue. First of all, CRITIC (Criteria Importance Through Inter-criteria Correlation) method is utilized to determine the weights of criteria. Later, the conventional Taxonomy method is extended to the intuitionistic fuzzy environment to compute the value of development attribute of each supplier. Then, the optimal one can be determined. Eventually, an application about green supplier selection in steel industry is presented, and a comparative analysis is made to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method. The main features of the proposed algorithm are that they provide a practical solution for selecting GSCM and presents an objective weighting method to enhance the effectiveness of the algorithm.

Thermoelectric materials (TMs) can uniquely convert waste heat into electricity, which provides a potential solution for the global energy crisis that is increasingly severe. Bulk Cu2Se, with ionic conductivity of Cu ions, exhibits a significant enhancement of its thermoelectric figure of merit zT by a factor of ~3 near its structural transition around 400 K. Here, we show a systematic study of the electronic structure of Cu2Se and its temperature evolution using high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. Upon heating across the structural transition, the electronic states near the corner of the Brillouin zone gradually disappear, while the bands near the centre of Brillouin zone shift abruptly towards high binding energies and develop an energy gap. Interestingly, the observed band reconstruction well reproduces the temperature evolution of the Seebeck coefficient of Cu2Se, providing an electronic origin for the drastic enhancement of the thermoelectric performance near 400 K. The current results not only bridge among structural phase transition, electronic structures, and thermoelectric properties in a condensed matter system, but also provide valuable insights into the search and design of new generation of thermoelectric materials., Comment: To appear in Science Bulletin

In recent years, with the increased voice for protecting the environment by the people all over the world, the governments also have actively adopted more and more measures to further promote environmental conservation and sustainable development. Traditional procurement approaches have not well updated to the current needs of the society, especially for the retail industry which is in relation to the national economy due to numerous products and different suppliers being involved. Therefore, the need for green procurement is more important. The qualified green supplier selection is the core of green procurement, which is the utmost importance in the business competition throughout the supply chain in today’s strong business competition. Thus, in order to obtain the optimal green supplier, integration of Entropy weights and multi-attributive border approximation area comparison (MABAC) under uncertain probabilistic linguistic sets (UPLTSs) has offered a novel integrated model, in which information Entropy is utilized for calculating objective weights with UPLTSs to acquire the final ranking result of green supplier. Besides, so as to indicate the applicability of devised method, it is confirmed by a numerical case for green supplier selection. Some comparative studies are made with some existing methods. The proposed method can also serve for selecting suitable alternative successfully in other selection problems.

In this paper, we provide the probabilistic linguistic multiple attribute group decision making (PL-MAGDM) with incomplete weight information. In such method, the linguistic information firstly is shifted into probabilistic linguistic information. For obtaining the weight information of the attribute, two optimization models are built on the basis of the basic idea of grey relational analysis (GRA), by which the attribute weights can be obtained. Then, the optimal alternative is obtained through calculating largest relative relational degree from the probabilistic linguistic positive ideal solution (PLPIS) which considers both the largest grey relational coefficient (GRC) from the PLPIS and the smallest GRC form probabilistic linguistic negative ideal solution (PLNIS). Finally, a case study for waste incineration plants location problem is given to demonstrate the advantages of the developed methods.

To investigate the expression and clinical significance of F0 ATP synthase C subunit (Csub) in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD).The 101 patients with chest pain admitted to the department of emergency of the People's Hospital of Yuhuan from May 2019 to December 2020 were enrolled, including 59 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and 42 patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP). At the same time, 50 age-matched healthy subjects in the health examination center were selected as the healthy control (HC). All patients had completed blood sampling before the intervention of drugs or other intervention measures in the emergency room. The content of serum Csub was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the relationship between Csub and clinical characteristics was analyzed. At the same time, the contents of hypersensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) and MB isoenzyme of creatine kinase (CK-MB) in blood were detected by electrochemical luminescence. The receiver operator characteristic curve (ROC curve) was drawn to evaluate the value of Csub, hs-cTnT, and CK-MB in the early diagnosis of IHD.The baseline data such as age, gender, and history of the three groups were balanced. There were significant differences in low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), CK-MB, hs-cTnT and B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP), but there were no significant differences in other biochemical indexes. The Csub content in the AMI group and the UAP group were significantly higher than those in the HC group [8.96% (6.37%, 11.53%), 4.27% (3.23%, 6.49%) vs. 1.56% (1.07%, 2.33%), both P0.01]. Moreover, the Csub in the AMI group with more severe myocardial ischemia was higher than UAP group [8.96% (6.37%, 11.53%) vs. 4.27% (3.23%, 6.49%), P0.01]. A total of 59 patients with AMI were treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). According to the median of Csub, AMI patients were subdivided into above-median group (29 cases) and below-median group (30 cases). The results showed that there were no significant differences in the number of coronary artery lesion branches, the number of stent implantation and postoperative medication between the two groups. ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve (AUC) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) of Csub, hs-cTnT and CK-MB in the diagnosis of IHD were 0.98 (0.95-1.00), 0.99 (0.99-1.00), 0.94 (0.89-0.99), respectively. The diagnostic efficacy of Csub was slightly lower than that of hs-cTnT but higher than that of CK-MB. When the cut-off value of Csub was 4.74%, the sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of IHD were 100% and 87.0%, respectively.Csub increased significantly in the serum of IHD patients, and further increased with the severity of ischemia. It can be used as a new diagnostic biomarker for the diagnosis and evaluation of the development of myocardial ischemia.

Electrically manipulating domain wall (DW) is at central in the field of spintronics. Magnetic Weyl semimetal (WSM) offers an additional knob for electric manipulation of DW by utilizing the topological DW bound states. Using magnetic WSM material EuB6 as a prototype system, we investigate its DW bound states combining first principles calculations and domain imaging via magnetic force microscopy (MFM). The MFM measurements reveal that domains with magnetization aligned along three [100] directions dominate over others under a small magnetic field along [001] direction. Accordingly, first principles calculations are performed based on experimentally determined DW type, which show a robust DW bound state featuring a spectral distribution over a large portion of the DW Brillouin zone. Such DW bound states should result in significant amount of localized charges which can be used to drive DW motion via the electrostatic forces exerted on the localized DW charges., Comment: 4 figures

We studied the effects of multiband electronic structure on the thermoelectric and electrical transport properties in the normal state of kagome superconductors $A$V$_3$Sb$_5$ ($A$ = K, Rb, Cs). In all three members, the multiband nature is manifested by sign changes in the temperature dependence of the Seebeck and Hall resistivity, together with sublinear response of the isothermal Nernst and Hall effects to external magnetic fields in the charge ordered state. Moreover, ambipolar transport effects appear ubiquitously in all three systems, giving rise to sizable Nernst signal. 1T-TiSe2 hosts a 3D charge-density-wave (CDW) state that also features exciton condensation. We find that photoexcitation suppresses the 3D CDW while creating a 2D CDW, a process controlled by the excitonic correlations in the system.

Quantum well states (QWSs) can form at the surface or interfaces of materials with confinement potential. They have broad applications in electronic and optical devices such as high mobility electron transistor, photodetector and quantum well laser. The properties of the QWSs are usually the key factors for the performance of the devices. However, direct visualization and manipulation of such states are in general challenging. In this work, by using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS), we directly probe the QWSs generated on the vacuum interface of a narrow band gap semiconductor Nb2SiTe4. Interestingly, the position and splitting of QWSs could be easily manipulated via potassium (K) dosage onto the sample surface. Our results suggest Nb2SiTe4 to be an intriguing semiconductor system to study and engineer the QWSs, which has great potential in device applications., Comment: 28 pages, 5 figures

Magnetic domain formation in two-dimensional (2D) materials gives perspectives into the fundamental origins of 2D magnetism and also motivates the development of advanced spintronics devices. However, the characterization of magnetic domains in atomically thin van der Waals (vdW) flakes remains challenging. Here, we employ X-ray photoemission electron microscopy (XPEEM) to perform layer-resolved imaging of the domain structures in the itinerant vdW ferromagnet Fe5GeTe2which shows near room temperature bulk ferromagnetism and a weak perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA). In the bulk limit, we observe the well-known labyrinth-type domains. Thinner flakes, on the other hand, are characterized by increasingly fragmented domains. While PMA is a characteristic property of Fe5GeTe2, we observe a spin-reorientation transition with the spins canting in-plane for flakes thinner than six layers. Notably, a bubble phase emerges in four-layer flakes. This thickness dependence, which clearly deviates from the single-domain behavior observed in other 2D magnetic materials, demonstrates the exciting prospect of stabilizing complex spin textures in 2D vdW magnets at relatively high temperatures.

Two-dimensional materials with tunable in-plane anisotropic infrared response promise versatile applications in polarized photodetectors and field-effect transistors. Black phosphorus is a prominent example. However, it suffers from poor ambient stability. Here, we report the strain-tunable anisotropic infrared response of a layered material Nb2SiTe4, whose lattice structure is similar to the 2H-phase transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) with three different kinds of building units. Strikingly, some of the strain-tunable optical transitions are crystallographic axis-dependent, even showing opposite shift when uniaxial strain is applied along two in-plane principal axes. Moreover, G0W0-BSE calculations show good agreement with the anisotropic extinction spectra. The optical selection rules are obtained via group theory analysis, and the strain induced unusual shift trends are well explained by the orbital coupling analysis. Our comprehensive study suggests that Nb2SiTe4 is a good candidate for tunable polarization-sensitive optoelectronic devices.

The intriguing quasiparticles in solids, known as Dirac, Weyl, and Majorana fermions, etc. with properties akin to those theoretically predicted but never realized in high-energy physics, have excited intensive research activities in recent years. The transition metal dipnictides are attractive because of their extremely large magnetoresistance that is usually attributed to the carrier compensation effect. We briefly review herein the crystal growth, magneto-transport measurements, and theoretical studies of tantalum dipnictides TaAs2 and TaP2, with the emphasis being put on discussion of the nontrivial topological states in both materials. The analysis of quantum oscillations of the magnetoresistance unveils nonzero Berry phase. The chiral negative longitudinal magnetoresistance further points to possible Weyl state, which was recently theoretically suggested as the result of the magnetic field-induced Zeeman splitting effect no matter how large the field is. The analysis of these intriguing behaviors could brush up our understanding about the family of materials and would be valuable for future work on investigating the magnetic field-induced topological phase transition in such semimetals.

Topological nodal-line semimetals (TNLSMs) are materials whose conduction and valence bands cross each other, meeting a topologically protected closed loop rather than discrete points in the Brillouin zone (BZ). The anticipated properties for TNLSMs, include drumhead-like nearly flat surface states, unique Landau energy levels, special collective modes, long-range Coulomb interactions, or the possibility of realizing high-temperature superconductivity. Recently, SrAs3 has been theoretically proposed and then experimentally confirmed to be a TNLSM. Here, we report high-pressure experiments on SrAs3, identifying a Lifshitz transition below 1 GPa and a superconducting transition accompanied by a structural phase transition above 20 GPa. A topological crystalline insulator (TCI) state is revealed by means of density functional theory (DFT) calculations on the emergent high-pressure phase. As the counterpart of topological insulators, TCIs possess metallic boundary states protected by crystal symmetry, rather than time reversal. In consideration of topological surface states (TSSs) and helical spin texture observed in the high-pressure state of SrAs3, the superconducting state may be induced in the surface states, and is most likely topologically nontrivial, making pressurized SrAs3 a strong candidate for topological superconductor.

The paper corrugation tube is an attractive and innovative mode of cushioning protection and energy absorption for the general protection and packaging technology of military and civil products. The aims of this paper focus on the dynamic compression characteristics of four kinds of regular polygonal paper corrugation tubes under the conditions of axial drop impacts, and the influence rules of structural parameters and load parameters on the dynamic cushioning energy absorption. The results show that, the tube direction has a crucial effect on the deformation mode of the paper corrugation tubes, the deformation of X-direction paper corrugation tubes has a stable accordion mode, but that of Y-direction paper corrugation tubes is a mixture of steady progressive buckling and other non-ideal modes. The X-direction paper corrugation tubes have lower peak stress, stable and controllable deformation mode with multiple folds, and higher total energy absorption, unit area energy absorption, specific energy absorption and stroke efficiency than the Y-direction paper corrugation tubes. Moreover, the change of cross-section shape of X-direction paper corrugation tubes has no obvious influence on the total energy absorption, while the total energy absorption of Y-direction paper corrugation tube obviously rises with the increase of the number of cross-section edges of the tubes, but the unit area energy absorption, specific energy absorption and stroke efficiency decrease with the increase of the number of cross-section edges of the tubes. Moreover, the increase of the number of cross-section edges of the tubes made the total energy absorption of Y-direction tubes rise, while the total energy absorption of X-direction tubes has no obvious change. But the unit area energy absorption, specific energy absorption and stroke efficiency decrease with the increase of the number of cross-section edges of the tubes. Furthermore, the tube length, impact block mass and impact energy have also important influence on the cushioning energy absorption of the paper corrugation tubes under axial drop impact.

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of solutions for a class of non-autonomous fractional FitzHugh-Nagumo equations deriven by additive white noise. We first provide some sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of solutions, and then prove the existence and uniqueness of tempered pullback random attractors for the random dynamical system generated by the solutions of considered equations in an appropriate Hilbert space. The proof is based on the uniform estimates and the decomposition of dynamical system.

The superconductivity of a kagome superconductor ${\mathrm{CsV}}_{3}{\mathrm{Sb}}_{5}$ is studied by scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy at ultralow temperature with high resolution. Two kinds of superconducting gaps with multiple sets of coherent peaks and residual zero-energy density of states (DOS) are observed on both half-Cs and Sb surfaces, implying multiband superconductivity. In addition, in-gap states can be induced by magnetic impurities but not by nonmagnetic impurities, suggesting a sign-preserving or $s$-wave superconducting order parameter. Moreover, the interplay between charge density waves (CDW) and superconductivity differs on various bands, resulting in different density-of-states distributions. Our results suggest that the superconducting gap is likely isotropic on the sections of Fermi surface that play little roles in CDW, and the superconducting gaps on the sections of Fermi surface with anisotropic CDW gaps are likely anisotropic as well. The residual spectral weights at zero energy are attributed to the extremely small superconducting gap on the tiny oval Fermi pockets. Our study provides critical clues for further understanding the superconductivity and its relation to CDW in ${\mathrm{CsV}}_{3}{\mathrm{Sb}}_{5}$.

The antiferromagnetic (AFM) semimetal YbMnSb2 has recently been identified as a candidate topological material, driven by time-reversal symmetry breaking. Depending on the ordered arrangement of Mn spins below the Néel temperature, TN = 345 K, the electronic bands near the Fermi energy can either have a Dirac node, a Weyl node, or a nodal line. We have investigated the ground state magnetic structure of YbMnSb2 using unpolarized and polarized single crystal neutron diffraction. We find that the Mn moments lie along the c axis of the P4/nmm space group and are arranged in a C-type AFM structure, which implies the existence of gapped Dirac nodes near the Fermi level. The results highlight how different magnetic structures can critically affect the topological nature of fermions in semimetals.

The electronic structure of the natural topological semimetal Co

The electronic structure of the natural topological semimetal Co3Sn2S2crystals was studied by using near-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy (NEXAFS) and resonant photoelectron spectroscopy (ResPES). Although, the significant increase of the Co 3d valence band emission is observed at the Co 2p absorption edge in the ResPES experiments, the spectral weight at these photon energies is dominated by the normal Auger contribution. This observation indicates the delocalized character of photoexcited Co 3d electrons and is supported by the first-principle calculations. Our results on the investigations of the element- and orbital-specific electronic states near the Fermi level of Co3Sn2S2are of importance for the comprehensive description of the electronic structure of this material, which is significant for its future applications in different areas of science and technology, including catalysis and water splitting.

In recent years, a series of serious attacks against industrial control system (ICS), such as Stuxnet, Duqu, Flame and Havex, have sounded the alarm for industrial enterprises. For many industrial enterprises, it is a very important part of enterprise management decisions to evaluate ICS security suppliers and choose the appropriate one as a partner. The purpose of this paper is to build the TODIM method based on cumulative prospect theory (CPT-TODIM) to solve multiattribute group decision making problem under interval-valued bipolar fuzzy environment. This extraordinary model not only uses CPT to supplement the traditional TODIM method, but also introduces the entropy weight method to determine the attribute weight so as to avoid the negative influence of subjective weight on the decision result. In addition, in this model, all attribute evaluation information will be interval-valued bipolar fuzzy number (IVBFN) to cope with complex and fuzzy decision environment. Then, the most important part of this paper, we elaborate on the logical structure of the model. What’s more, in the last two sections, we apply this newly constructed model to the selection of ICS security suppliers, and verify the acceptability of this method by sensitivity analysis and comparing with IVBFWA and IVBFWG operator. We report magnetic, transport, neutron diffraction, and muon spin rotation data showing that Pb$_2$CoOsO$_6$, a newly synthesized metallic double-perovskite with a centrosymmetric space group at room temperature, exhibits a continuous second-order phase transition at 45 K to a magnetically ordered state with a non-centrosymmetric space group. The absence of inversion symmetry is very uncommon in metals, particularly metallic oxides. In contrast to the recently reported ferroelectric-like structural transition in LiOsO$_3$, the phase transition in Pb$_2$CoOsO$_6$ is driven by a long-range collinear antiferromagnetic order, with propagation vector $\textbf{k} = (\frac{1}{2},0,\frac{1}{2})$, which relieves the frustration associated with the symmetry of themagnetic exchanges. The spin-polarized bulk states in the centrosymmetric nodal-line semimetal HfSiS were observed by spin- and angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy. Combining with density functional theory calculations and the tight-binding model, the layer-locked spin states' nature of the observed $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}$-shaped bulk bands was revealed and the tight-binding model shows the importance of the next-nearest-neighbor term of spin-orbit coupling in the spin reversal of the bands along the $\overline{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Gamma}}}\text{\ensuremath{-}}\overline{\mathit{M}}$ direction. Furthermore, the topological essence of attractive Dirac node arc states was confirmed.

Topological materials have aroused great interest in recent years, especially when magnetism is involved. Pressure can effectively tune the topological states and possibly induce superconductivity. Here we report the high-pressure study of topological semimetals XCd2Sb2 (X = Eu and Yb), which have the same crystal structure. In antiferromagnetic (AFM) Weyl semimetal EuCd2Sb2, the Néel temperature (T N) increases from 7.4 K at ambient pressure to 50.9 K at 14.9 GPa. When pressure is above 14.9 GPa, the AFM peak of resistance disappears, indicating a non-magnetic state. In paramagnetic Dirac semimetal candidate YbCd2Sb2, pressure-induced superconductivity appears at 1.94 GPa, then T c reaches to a maximum of 1.67 K at 5.22 GPa and drops to zero at about 30 GPa, displaying a dome-shaped temperature–pressure phase diagram. High-pressure x-ray diffraction measurement demonstrates that a crystalline-to-amorphous phase transition occurs at about 16 GPa in YbCd2Sb2, revealing the robustness of pressure-induced superconductivity against structural instability. Similar structural phase transition may also occur in EuCd2Sb2, causing the disappearance of magnetism. Our results show that XCd2Sb2 (X = Eu and Yb) is a novel platform for exploring the interplay among magnetism, topology, and superconductivity.

Dirac semimetals (DSMs) are classified into different phases based on the types of the Dirac fermions. Tuning the transition among different types of the Dirac fermions in one system remains challenging. Recently, KMgBi was predicted to be located at a critical state that various types of Dirac fermions can be induced owing to the existence of a flat band. Here, we carried out systematic studies on the electronic structure of KMgBi single crystal by combining angle-resolve photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS). The flat band was clearly observed near the Fermi level. We also revealed a small bandgap of ~ 20 meV between the flat band and the conduction band. The magnetic van der Waals crystals MnBi_{2}Te_{4}/(Bi_{2}Te_{3})_{n} have drawn significant attention due to their rich topological properties and the tunability by external magnetic field. Although the MnBi_{2}Te_{4}/(Bi_{2}Te_{3})_{n} family have been intensively studied in the past few years, their close relatives, the MnSb_{2}Te_{4}/(Sb_{2}Te_{3})_{n} family, remain much less explored. In this work, combining magnetotransport measurements, angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, and first principles calculations, we find that MnSb_{4}Te_{7}, the n=1 member of the MnSb_{2}Te_{4}/(Sb_{2}Te_{3})_{n} family, is a magnetic topological system with versatile topological phases that can be manipulated by both carrier doping and magnetic field. Our calculations unveil that its A-type antiferromagnetic (AFM) ground state stays in a Z_{2} AFM topological insulator phase, which can be converted to an inversion-symmetry-protected axion insulator phase when in the ferromagnetic (FM) state. Moreover, when this system in the FM phase is slightly carrier doped on either the electron or hole side, it becomes a Weyl semimetal with multiple Weyl nodes in the highest valence bands and lowest conduction bands, which are manifested by the measured notable anomalous Hall effect. Our work thus introduces a new magnetic topological material with different topological phases that are highly tunable by carrier doping or magnetic field.

In the present study, we found the expression of miR-15a-5p (miR-15a) was increased in glioma tissues, and we further explore the underlying mechanism of miR-15a in glioma progression. Microarray analysis used to identify the differentially expressed microRNAs (miRNAs) in glioma tissues. The expression of miR-15a in glioma tissues and cell lines was tested by qRT-PCR. Luciferase assay was used to determine the binding between miR-15a and Smad7. Wound healing and transwell assay were used to examine the role of miR-15a/Smad7 in SHG139 cells. Western blot was used to detect the protein level of Smad7 and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers. A tumor formation model in nude mice was established to measure the role of miR-15a in vivo. MiR-15a was significantly increased in glioma tissues and cells, which indicated a poor prognosis of glioma patients. MiR-15a mimics induced miR-15a level in SHG139 cells, and promoted the malignancy of SHG139 cells, while miR-15a inhibitor showed the opposite effects. Luciferase assay indicated that Smad7 was the direct target of miR-15a, and Smad7 was down-regulated in glioma tissues. Functional experiments revealed that miR-15a inhibitor inhibited the EMT pathway and the migration and invasion of glioma cells, but the silencing of Smad7 reversed the effects of miR-15a inhibitor in EMT pathway and glioma progression. Finally, we performed animal experiments to verify the role of miR-15a in vivo. Present study showed that deletion of miR-15a inhibited the activation of EMT signaling via targeting Smad7, thus suppressed the tumorigenesis and tumor growth of glioma.

Using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and band structure calculation, we have investigated the three-dimensional nature and the orbital character of the low-energy electronic structure in the layered ternary boride ${\mathrm{AlMn}}_{2}{\mathrm{B}}_{2}$, in which ferromagnetic Mn $ab$ layers couple antiferromagnetically along the $c$ axis (N\'eel temperature ${\mathrm{T}}_{\mathrm{N}}\ensuremath{\sim}320\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$). The calculation indicates that electronic bands in the vicinity of the Fermi energy ${E}_{\mathrm{F}}$ are dominated by the Mn $3d$ orbitals. The ${e}_{g}$ orbitals especially contribute high density of states (DOS) with large effective electron masses near ${E}_{\mathrm{F}}$. The calculated bands are renormalized by a factor of $\ensuremath{\sim}1.5$ to match the overall experimental observations, indicating moderate electronic correlation. Considering that the neighbor compound ${\mathrm{AlFe}}_{2}{\mathrm{B}}_{2}$, with one more $3d$ electron, is ferromagnetic, the high DOS near ${E}_{\mathrm{F}}$ from the different $3d$ orbitals should be associated with the different magnetic orders along the special directions in these layered ternary borides. On the other hand, our studies of electronic structure of ${\mathrm{AlMn}}_{2}{\mathrm{B}}_{2}$ would further prompt its potential applications as a layered room-temperature antiferromagnetic material.

Quantum materials with layered kagome structures have drawn considerable attention due to their unique lattice geometry, which gives rise to flat bands together with Dirac-like dispersions. Recently, vanadium-based materials with layered kagome structures were discovered to be topological metals, which exhibit charge density wave (CDW) properties, significant anomalous Hall effect, and unusual superconductivity at low temperatures. Here, we employ angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy to investigate the electronic structure evolution upon the CDW transition in a vanadium-based kagome material RbV_{3}Sb_{5}. The CDW phase transition gives rise to a partial energy gap opening at the boundary of the Brillouin zone and, most importantly, the emergence of new van Hove singularities associated with large density of states, which are absent in the normal phase and might be related to the superconductivity observed at lower temperatures. Our work sheds light on the microscopic mechanisms for the formation of the CDW and superconducting states in these topological kagome metals.

Topological materials host fascinating low dimensional gapless states at the boundary. As a prominent example, helical topological edge states (TESs) of two-dimensional topological insulators (2DTIs) and their stacked three-dimensional (3D) equivalent, weak topological insulators (WTIs), have sparked research enthusiasm due to their potential application in the next generation of electronics/spintronics with low dissipation. Here, we propose layered superconducting material CaSn as a WTI with nontrivial Z2 as well as nodal line semimetal protected by crystalline non-symmorphic symmetry. Our systematic angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) investigation on the electronic structure exhibits excellent agreement with the calculation. Furthermore, scanning tunnelling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS) at the surface step edge shows signatures of the expected TES. These integrated evidences from ARPES, STM/STS measurement and corresponding ab initio calculation strongly support the existence of TES in the non-symmorphic nodal line semimetal CaSn, which may become a versatile material platform to realize multiple exotic electronic states as well as topological superconductivity.

The superconductivity of a kagome superconductor CsV_{3}Sb_{5} is studied by scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy at ultralow temperature with high resolution. Two kinds of superconducting gaps with multiple sets of coherent peaks and residual zero-energy density of states (DOS) are observed on both half-Cs and Sb surfaces, implying multiband superconductivity. In addition, in-gap states can be induced by magnetic impurities but not by nonmagnetic impurities, suggesting a sign-preserving or s-wave superconducting order parameter. Moreover, the interplay between charge density waves (CDW) and superconductivity differs on various bands, resulting in different density-of-states distributions. Our results suggest that the superconducting gap is likely isotropic on the sections of Fermi surface that play little roles in CDW, and the superconducting gaps on the sections of Fermi surface with anisotropic CDW gaps are likely anisotropic as well. The residual spectral weights at zero energy are attributed to the extremely small superconducting gap on the tiny oval Fermi pockets. Our study provides critical clues for further understanding the superconductivity and its relation to CDW in CsV_{3}Sb_{5}.

Recently superconductivity was discovered in the Kagome metal AV3Sb5 (A = K, Rb, and Cs), which has an ideal Kagome lattice of vanadium1-4. These V-based superconductors also host charge density wave (CDW)5 and topological nontrivial band structure2,6, thus provide a great platform to study the interplay of superconductivity, CDW, frustration, and topology. Here we report the ultralow-temperature thermal conductivity and high pressure resistance measurements on CsV3Sb5 with Tc ≈ 2.5 K, the highest among AV3Sb5. A finite residual linear term of thermal conductivity at zero magnetic field and its rapid increase in fields suggest nodal superconductivity. By applying pressure, the Tc of CsV3Sb5 increases first, then decreases to lower than 0.3 K at 11.4 GPa, demonstrating a clear first superconducting dome peaked around 0.8 GPa. Above 11.4 GPa, superconductivity re-emerges, showing a second superconducting dome. Both nodal superconductivity and superconducting domes point to unconventional superconductivity in this V-based superconductor. While our finding of nodal superconductivity puts a strong constrain on the pairing state of the first dome, which should be related to the CDW instability, the superconductivity of the second dome may present another exotic pairing state in this ideal Kagome lattice of vanadium.

The noncentrosymmetric RAlPn (R = rare earth, Pn = Si, Ge) family, predicted to host nonmagnetic and magnetic Weyl states, provide an excellent platform for investigating the relation between magnetism and Weyl physics. By using high field magnetotransport measurements and first principles calculations, we have unveiled herein both type-I and type-II Weyl states in the nonmagnetic LaAlSi. By a careful comparison between experimental results and theoretical calculations, nontrivial Berry phases associated with the Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations are ascribed to the electron Fermi pockets related to both types of Weyl points located ~ 0.1 eV above and exactly on the Fermi level, respectively. Under high magnetic field, signatures of Zeeman splitting are also observed. These results indicate that, in addition to the importance for exploring intriguing physics of multiple Weyl fermions, LaAlSi as a comparison with magnetic Weyl semimetals in the RAlPn family would also yield valuable insights into the relation between magnetism and Weyl physics., Comment: 18 pages, 5 figures, 1 table

Epicatechin (EC) has significant antiinflammation, antioxidation, and anticancer activities. It also provides a new alternative treatment for mastitis, which can result in great economic losses in the dairy industry if left untreated. The purpose of this study was to investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of EC on mastitis and the underlying mechanism using in vivo and in vitro systems. The use of ELISA and immunohistochemistry assays showed that EC treatment at 1.5, 7.5, 15, and 30 mg/mL decreased protein expression of inflammatory mediators, including cyclooxygenase-2 and inducible nitric oxide synthase; inflammatory cytokines, which were composed of IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-6 in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated bovine mammary epithelial cell line (MAC-T); and mouse mammary gland, together with reduced filtration of T lymphocytes in the mouse mammary gland. Furthermore, EC treatment reduced LPS-induced phosphorylation levels of p65 and inhibitor of NF-κB, and blocked nuclear translocation of p65 as revealed by western blot and immunofluorescence test in MAC-T cells and the mouse mammary gland. Epicatechin also attenuated LPS-induced phosphorylation levels of mitogen-activated protein kinase members (i.e., p38, c-Jun N-terminal kinase 1/2 and extracellular regulated protein kinases 1/2). Using RNA-seq and tandem mass tag analyses, upregulation of TMEM35A and TMPO proteins was disclosed in MAC-T cells cotreated with LPS and EC. Although clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/Cas9-based knockdown of TMEM35A and TMPO attenuated abundance of phosphorylated (p)-p65, p-p38, TNF-α, and iNOS, overexpression of TMEM35A reversed EC-mediated effects in TMPO knockdown cells. Moreover, interaction between TMEM35A and TMPO was detected using the co-immunoprecipitation method. In conclusion, our data demonstrated that EC inhibited LPS-induced inflammatory response in MAC-T cells and the mouse mammary gland. Importantly, TMEM35A mediated the transmembrane transport of EC, and the interaction between TMEM35A and TMPO inhibited MAPK and NF-κB pathways.

Two-dimensional (2D) materials with narrow band gaps (∼0.3 eV) are of great importance for realizing ambipolar transistors and mid-infrared (MIR) detections. However, most of the 2D materials studied to date have band gaps that are too large. A few of the materials with suitable band gaps are not stable under ambient conditions. In this study, the layered Nb2SiTe4 is shown to be a stable 2D material with a band gap of 0.39 eV. Field-effect transistors based on few-layer Nb2SiTe4 show ambipolar transport with a similar magnitude of electron and hole current and a high charge-carrier mobility of ∼100 cm2 V-1 s-1 at room temperature. Optoelectronic measurements of the devices show clear response to an MIR wavelength of 3.1 μm with a high responsivity of ∼0.66 AW-1. These results establish Nb2SiTe4 as a good candidate for ambipolar devices and MIR detection.

In this paper, traveling waves with different frequencies and velocities can be constructed by three wave method. Some new exact solitary and periodic solitary solutions are obtained for the Fifth-Order Sawada–Kotera equation using three wave type method via Hirota bilinear form. The solutions investigated by three wave method are more than solutions by others method such as homoclinic test method.

The vibration transmissibility of paper honeycomb sandwich plate was tested and the vibration transmissibility curve was simplified and characterized. Based on the basic principle of vibration mechanics, the equation for calculating the energy dissipated by damping of paper honeycomb sandwich plate-block system during vibration was deduced. Furthermore, the effects of honeycomb structural parameters (cell length, sandwich plate thickness) and block mass on the damping energy dissipation were analyzed. The results showed that the curves of vibration transmissibility for paper honeycomb sandwich plate can be divided into three regions: plateau region, amplification region, and attenuation region. The vibration transmissibility ratio in different regions can be expressed as functions of frequency. The energy dissipated by damping of paper honeycomb sandwich plate-block system depends on its vibration transmissibility. If the vibration transmissibility ratio–frequency curve is obtained, the damping energy dissipation of the system can be calculated. The total energy dissipation of paper honeycomb sandwich plate-block system during vibration is about equal to that of plateau region, and the energy dissipated in amplification and attenuation region can be neglected. Different honeycomb structural parameters have the same effect on the damping energy dissipation of the system. Block mass has little effect on the damping energy dissipation in plateau region and the total energy dissipation during vibration but has a greater impact on the energy dissipation in the amplification and attenuation regions. The purpose of this paper is to provide a basic method for calculation of energy dissipated by damping and evaluation of anti-vibration property for packaging material.

In view of cushioning energy absorption of paper composite sandwich structures with sinusoidal corrugation and hexagonal honeycomb cores, the static yield strength and compression deformation were firstly analyzed by experiments, then the unit volume energy absorption, unit area energy absorption, and specific energy absorption were evaluated. Further, the influences of static compression rate, corrugation types, and honeycomb thickness on the cushioning energy absorption were respectively studied. The experimental observations show that the paper composite sandwich structures are crushed layer by layer due to the difference in the yield strength of sandwiches, and the honeycomb core is crushed after the collapsing of corrugation core. The three evaluation indices of cushioning energy absorption have similar change rule with the compression rate, corrugation types, and honeycomb thickness. The influence of static compression rate on the yield strength and cushioning energy absorption of the paper composite sandwich structure is not obvious. The composite sandwich structures consisting of paper corrugation sandwich with large inertia moment and honeycomb sandwich with large thickness have more excellent cushioning energy absorption, the B-corrugation can increase the unit volume energy absorption of paper composite sandwich structures by up to 18% than C-corrugation, and the 3-honeycomb can increase the unit volume energy absorption of paper composite sandwich structures by up to 32% than 2-honeycomb.
