The short-time high-voltage electric field treatment was used to increase the GABA content of buckwheat after germination, and the activities of GABA shunt enzymes were measured. The results showed that buckwheat was soaked at 35 ℃ for 3 hours, after treatment with 1.0 KV/cm high-voltage electric field for 30 minutes. The current bottleneck in the development of efficient photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution is the limited availability of high‐performance acceptor units. Over the past nine years, dibenzo[b,d]thiophene sulfone (DBS) has been the preferred choice for the acceptor unit. Despite extensive exploration of alternative structures as potential replacements for DBS, a superior substitute remains elusive. In this study, a symmetry‐breaking strategy was employed on DBS to develop a novel acceptor unit, BBTT‐1SO. The asymmetric structure of BBTT‐1SO proved beneficial for increasing multiple moment and polarizability. BBTT‐1SO‐containing polymers showed higher efficiencies for hydrogen evolution than their DBS‐containing counterparts by up to 166 %. PBBTT‐1SO exhibited an excellent hydrogen evolution rate (HER) of 222.03 mmol g−1 h−1 and an apparent quantum yield of 27.5 % at 500 nm. Transient spectroscopic studies indicated that the BBTT‐1SO‐based polymers facilitated electron polaron formation, which explains their superior HERs. PBBTT‐1SO also showed 14 % higher HER in natural seawater splitting than that in deionized water splitting. Molecular dynamics simulations highlighted the enhanced water‐PBBTT‐1SO polymer interactions in salt‐containing solutions. This prospective crossover study aimed to investigate the effect of binaural beat therapy music on soccer player performance. Between July 2023 and December 2023, 45 athletes (31 females/14 males, mean age = 20.47 ± 0.99) wore Bluetooth earphones through which one of the following was given during initial 20 min warm-up exercises before undergoing repeated sprint ability tests: no music/fast-tempo music/fast-tempo music with background binaural beat therapy music. Heart rate change after warm-up exercises/repeated sprint ability (RSA) tests and the time to finish RSA tests were recorded. Despite no significant difference in heart rate increase after warm-up between the two genders regardless of intervention, larger increases after RSA tests were found in males following any of the three interventions (all p < 0.01) with the most notable difference observed after fast-tempo music (p < 0.0001). A significant effect size (r = 0.2) correlated with fast-tempo music during warm-up in either gender. Binaural beat therapy music during warm-up reached a significant effect size only when all participants were considered, suggesting limited benefits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A two-dimensional (2D) zirconium-based metal–organic framework (Zr-MOF) with abundant terminal –OH/–OH2 groups on its nodes, ZrBTB (BTB = 1,3,5-tris(4-carboxyphenyl)benzene), is utilized as a platform for dual post-synthetic modifications (PSM) to immobilize both the benzophenone-based photosensitizer (benzophenone-4,4′-dicarboxylate, bzpdc) and terbium ions onto the 2D Zr-MOF molecular sheets. Terbium ions are installed on the 2D Zr-MOF at various temperatures to adjust the loading of terbium ions on the 2D Zr-MOF while preserving the loading of the photosensitizer. The crystallinity, morphology, porosity, and loadings of both bzpdc ligands and terbium ions are characterized for each material, and the coordinating locations of terbium ions in the Zr-MOF structure are investigated. The photoluminescence (PL) properties of these materials are then examined. Since the installed bzpdc ligand can induce a highly efficient energy transfer to the neighbouring terbium ion upon excitation, the obtained material after dual PSM (ZrBTB-bzpdc-Tb-120) can show strong PL emissions of terbium ions upon the excitation of the bzpdc ligand at 355 nm, with a PL quantum yield of 5.04%. It is more advantageous than the 2D Zr-MOF solely functionalized with terbium ions, which can only exhibit similar emissions upon the excitation of the BTB linker at a less friendly wavelength of 310 nm, with a lower PL quantum yield of 2.94%. Owing to the high chemical stability as well as good dispersity of the luminescent ZrBTB-bzpdc-Tb-120 in water, its performances in selective PL sensing of Fe(III) ions present in aqueous solutions are investigated. Background The potential causes or sources of embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS) vary. This study aimed to investigate the main cause of deep ESUS by evaluating nonstenotic intracranial atherosclerotic plaque. Methods and Results We retrospectively screened consecutive patients with unilateral anterior circulation ESUS. After excluding the patients with possible embolism from an extracranial artery such as aortic arch plaque, carotid plaque, and so on, the enrolled patients with ESUS were categorized into 2 groups: deep ESUS and cortical with/without deep ESUS. All patients underwent intracranial high‐resolution magnetic resonance imaging to assess the characteristics of nonstenotic intracranial atherosclerotic plaque. Biomarkers of atrial cardiopathy (ie, P‐wave terminal force in lead V1 on ECG, NT‐proBNP [N‐terminal pro–brain natriuretic peptide] and left atrial diameter) were collected. A total of 155 patients with ipsilateral nonstenotic intracranial atherosclerotic plaque were found, with 76 (49.0%) in deep ESUS and 79 (51.0%) in cortical with/without deep ESUS. We found more prevalent plaque in the M1 segment of the middle cerebral artery and the ostia of the perforator, with a smaller remodeling index plaque burden, and less frequent occurrence of complicated plaque in deep ESUS versus cortical with/without deep ESUS. Higher BNP (brain natriuretic peptide) levels and a higher prevalence of atrial cardiopathy in cortical with/without deep ESUS versus deep ESUS. Moreover, the discrimination of vulnerable plaque for predicting ESUS was significantly enhanced after adjusting for or further excluding patients with deep ESUS. Conclusions The current study provides the first high‐resolution magnetic resonance imaging evidence that cortical with/without deep ESUS and deep ESUS should be 2 distinct entities and that atherosclerosis, not embolism, might be the main cause of deep ESUS.
