The aim of this work is to develop materials that can absorb microwave to meet the requirements of stealth technology and solve the problem of electromagnetic pollution. However, the challenge is having materials with high-efficient absorption properties at an ultralow filling rate and visualizing the microwave response. The strategy used in this work was to integrate point defect and microstructure in preparing materials, nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide@ carbon nanofibers with high-efficient microwave absorption and double-layered structure. Ethylenediamine (nitrogen source), was doped into the materials, resulting in the generation of the defects. The microwave absorption performance of the materials was affected by the degree of defects due to the dipole polarization loss and conductive loss. The optimal samples gained the maximum reflection loss of -54.7 dB and effective absorption bandwidth of 4.74 GHz at a filling rate of only 8 wt%. More significantly, the microwave absorbing mechanism was analyzed visually in the response field. As a response to stealth technology and electromagnetic pollution, microwave absorbing materials have attracted the attention of many research scholars. However, achieving effective absorption with a low filling level is still a challenge in the harsh environment. Here, an emerging carbon-carbon composite fiber with a core-sheath structure is cleverly tailored for high-performance microwave absorber by tuning the dielectric loss. Reasonable engineering heterogeneous interfaces and conductive paths give rise to a synergistic effect of the impedance matching, conductive loss, polarization loss and multiple scattering. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of Zr content on immersion and electrochemical corrosion behavior of Zr-containing Ti-based (TiZr) alloys. Design/methodology/approach The phase analysis of as-cast TχZAB alloys was carried out using X-ray diffraction. The microstructure of corrosion surfaces of the samples was observed using optical metallographic microscopy and scanning electron microscopy, equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy. Findings The immersion test reveals that the corrosion is alleviated in the presence of a high amount of Zr, whereas pitting corrosion occurs when the Zr content is up to 40 Wt.%. Furthermore, the electrochemical analysis demonstrates that the corrosion resistance TiZr alloys is improved with increasing Zr content. Originality/value The TiZr alloys are promising candidates for high-end applications because of their excellent comprehensive properties. These alloys are usually used in marine or other harsh corrosive environments; therefore, it is essential to study their corrosion behavior.

The effects of the spraying thickness and the position on the response of aluminum plates under impact loading were studied. The impact tests and numerical simulation were conducted for the penetration process of polyurea-coated 2024 aluminum plates with tungsten sphere impacts. The results indicate the impact resistance performance is similar at slower impact velocity (500–1000 m/s), and the front (or double-side) coating has a smaller advantage. When the impact velocity rises to 1500 m/s, the back coating has a better energy-absorbing performance. The polyurea perform more efficiently with the increase in the impact velocity because the elastomer has large-scale deformation. By comparing the different thicknesses of the back coating, the residual velocity of the fragment has small changes and the impact energy absorption increased with the increase in the coating thickness. The separated phenomenon is serious in front of the bonding face with shear compression failure. In the back polyurea layer, the stripping area is smaller than the front bonding face, and the petaloid cracking is formed with tensile failure.

This article focuses on the exploration of novel soliton molecules for the (2+1)-dimensional Korteweg-de Vries equation. Specifically, Hirota bilinear form is derived through Bell polynomial method, and a soliton molecule comprising one lump soliton and an arbitrary number of line solitons or/and breather solitons is derived through the introduction of a longwave limit and new constraint conditions between the parameters of the N-soliton solutions and velocity resonance. The paper presents both analytical and graphical demonstrations of a range of interactions, showcasing the propagation of nonlinear localized waves. The findings of this study could contribute to a better understanding of physical phenomena associated with the propagation of nonlinear localized waves.

RNA sequencing (RNAseq) technology has become increasingly important in precision medicine and clinical diagnostics and emerged as a powerful tool for identifying protein-coding genes, performing differential gene analysis, and inferring immune cell composition. Human peripheral blood samples are widely used for RNAseq, providing valuable insights into individual biomolecular information. Blood samples can be classified as whole blood (WB), plasma, serum, and remaining sediment samples, including plasma-free blood (PFB) and serum-free blood (SFB) samples. However, the feasibility of using PFB and SFB samples for transcriptome analysis remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to assess the viability of employing PFB or SFB samples as substitute RNA sources in transcriptomic analysis and performed a comparative analysis of WB, PFB, and SFB samples for different applications. Our results revealed that PFB samples exhibit greater similarity to WB samples in terms of protein-coding gene expression patterns, differential expression gene profiling, and immunological characterizations, suggesting that PFB can be a viable alternative for transcriptomic analysis. This contributes to the optimization of blood sample utilization and the advancement of precision medicine research.

Propulsion, levitation and guidance (PLG) are the key technologies of high-speed maglev system. A linear synchronous motor (LSM) combined with PLG is presented, which can simultaneously realize the three functions of PLG. A novel analytical method for analyzing the three-dimensional (3-D) electromagnetic forces of the LSM is proposed. Firstly, the overall structure and operating principle of the high-speed maglev system are discussed. Secondly, the 3-D analytical model of the LSM is proposed, and the analytical expressions of propulsion force, levitation force and guidance force are obtained according to the change of the system magnetic field energy during the operation of the maglev train. Finally, the 3-D force characteristics of LSM under different operating conditions of maglev train are calculated and simulated, and the correctness of the 3-D analytical model is verified by the publicly measured data on the Yamanashi line.

Due to the existence of the end effect of the vehicle coils in the electrodynamic suspension maglev, the fluctuation of the output parameters of the suspension and guidance system is common, which has an impact on the stability of the motor driving system. In this paper, considering the end effect of vehicle coils, a new magnetomotive force distribution model suitable for the suspension and guidance system of electrodynamic suspension maglev is proposed. Firstly, considering the end effect of vehicle coils, a magnetomotive force model of array of vehicle coils is established. Then, based on space harmonic method and the equivalent circuit of suspension and guidance loop, the expressions of levitation current, guidance current, drag force, levitation force, levitation stiffness, guidance force and guidance stiffness are presented. Finally, the characteristics of the suspension and guidance system are analyzed under different running conditions. The numerical results are compared with the three-dimensional finite element method simulation results and the experimental results of the Yamanashi test line. The relative error is almost within 10%, which verified the feasibility and accuracy of the magnetomotive force model and analytical method.

The rapid identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) of bacteria would help us to accurately identify the infectious sources as well as guide the use of antibiotics, which are crucial for improving the survival rate and antimicrobial resistance. Herein, a colorimetric sensor array for bacteria fingerprinting was constructed with d-amino acid (d-AA)-modified gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as probes (Au/d-AA). Bacteria can metabolize the d-AA, triggering the aggregation of AuNPs. Making use of different metabolic capabilities of bacteria toward different d-AA, eight kinds of bacteria including antibiotic-resistant bacteria and strains of the same bacterial species are successfully differentiated via learning the response patterns. Meanwhile, the sensor array also performs well in quantitative analysis of single bacterium and differentiation of bacteria mixtures. More interestingly, a rapid colorimetric AST approach has been developed based on the Au/d-AA nanoprobes by monitoring the d-AA metabolic activity of bacteria toward various antibiotic treatments. In this regard, the outlined work here would promote clinical practicability and facilitate antibiotic stewardship.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) causes 700,000 deaths annually and is the fourth deadliest cancer in the world after lung, liver, and stomach cancer. Since CRC is difficult to detect early and has a poor prognosis, it is critical to develop novel biomarkers for its diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment.The GIPC2 expression in colorectal cancer was examined by the TCGA database analysis, IHC from the human protein atlas and qRT-PCR tests. GO and KEGG enrichment analyses were performed for genes that were both correlated with the expression of GIPC2 and GPD1L. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis and Kaplan-Meier (KM) survival analysis were applied to analyze the prognostic value of GIPC2 and GPD1L for overall survival (OS) and progress free interval (PFI) of CRC patients.We found that GIPC2 was low expressed in colorectal cancer and highly related with the CRC clinical-stage grade and TNM stage. Furthermore, GPD1L is correlated with GIPC2 via the correlation analysis in CRC and they were associated with several important cancer-related pathways. GIPC2 and GPD1L exhibited good diagnostic and prognostic predictive ability for patients with CRC.These results revealed new biomarkers in CRC, we proposed that the GIPC2/GPDL1 might be potential diagnostic and prognostic indicators for CRC, which provides a theoretical basis for our subsequent cellular and animal experiments, so as to reveal the occurrence and development mechanism of CRC more comprehensively.

Herein, the carbon black/graphene oxide/natural rubber composites (CB/GO/NR) with different crosslink networks were prepared through the latex co-precipitation approach. Meanwhile, the type of crosslinks on the crack propagation resistance and fatigue life in different vulcanized systems were investigated. As a result, CB/GO/NR composites dominated by polysulfide in conventional vulcanization (CV) system exhibited the improved tear strength (71.6 KN/m) and lowest crack growth rate (64.1 nm/cycle), the developed crosslink network and polysulfide based crosslink structure in CV system were the key factors to improve the crack propagation resistance. In addition, the relationship between viscoelasticity and dynamic crack propagation behavior of CB/GO/NR was studied, and the CV system had the lowest loss compliance modulus( J "), thus more energy dissipation occurred in the crack propagation region and the crack propagation resistance of CV system was improved. Importantly, this work can provide the guideline for designing the rubber-based composites in the practical engineering applications.
