The interaction properties can be significantly improved by using conjugated polymers with aromatic rings for carbon nanotube (CNT)‐reinforced composites. In this study, we investigated the influence of the molecular structure of the polyimide (PI) conjugated polymer on the mechanical properties and interfacial characteristics of CNT/PI composites. To that end, nanocomposites composed of aligned multi‐walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and PI with three different molecular structures were examined. Tensile tests, small‐angle x‐ray scattering (SAXS), and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were conducted, which revealed significant variations in the tensile properties among the three aligned MWNT/PI nanocomposites. The SAXS analyses indicated that MWNT/BPDA‐PDA had the largest interfacial specific surface area, as corroborated by the MD simulation results, which further demonstrated that the rigidity of the molecular structure influenced the extent of wrapping the PI chains around MWNTs. A highly rigid molecular chain hindered the intrachain folding of the PI chain, facilitating better wrapping of the MWNTs and a larger interfacial area. The MWNTs induced conformational changes in the PI chain owing to π–π stacking. Hermans orientation factor revealed that BPDA‐PDA exhibited the highest degree of orientation with MWNTs, whereas BTDA‐MPD displayed the greatest extent of MWNT‐induced conformational changes. The calculated interaction energy confirmed that MWNT/BTDA‐MPD exhibited the strongest interface strength (−41.50 Kcal/mol/nm2), which was 36.32% and 43.03% higher than that of MWNT/BPDA‐ODA and MWNT/BPDA‐PDA, demonstrating its superior tensile properties. This study provides insights into the interfacial characteristics between conjugated polymers and CNTs, which are essential for designing interfaces and developing high‐performance nanocomposites. We propose a constraint programming (CP)–based branch-and-price-and-cut framework to exactly solve bipath multicommodity flow (MCF): an MCF problem with two paths for each demand. The goal is to route demands in a capacitated network under the minimum cost. The two paths must have disjoint arcs, and the delays accumulated along the two paths must be within a small deviation of each other. CP is used at multiple points in this framework: for solving pricing problems, for cut generation, and for primal and branching node heuristics. These modules use a CP solver designed for network routing problems and can be adapted to other combinatorial optimization problems. We also develop a novel, complete, two-level branching scheme. On a set of diverse bipath MCF instances, experimental results show that our algorithm significantly outperforms monolithic CP and mixed integer linear programming models and demonstrate the efficiency and flexibility brought by the tailored integration of linear programming and CP methodologies. Background: Acinetobacter baumannii (A. baumannii) is an widespread pathogen and carbapenem-resistant strains are great threat to hospitalized patients. This study is aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics, antimicrobial resistance patterns, and risk factors associated with carbapenem resistance in nosocomial, healthcare-associated (HCA), and community-acquired (CA) A. baumannii infections. Methods: This study retrospectively reviewed cases in a tertiary hospital in southern China between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2021. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identified the risk factors of carbapenem resistance in nosocomial, HCA and CA A. baumannii infections. Results: A total of 391 patients with A. baumannii infection were included. Of these patients, 96 (24.6%) had nosocomial infections, 215 (55.0%) had HCA infections, and 80 (20.5%) had CA infections. The overall 30-day mortality rates of nosocomial and HCA infection patients was significantly higher than that of CA infection (P< 0.05). The incidence of antimicrobial resistance was also higher in nosocomial and HCA bacteremia than that in CA bacteremia (P< 0.05). Logistic regression analysis identified age ≥ 60 years, urethral catheterization, and exposure to two or more antibiotics as the independent risk factors for carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii (CRAB) infection in the nosocomial infection group and exposure to two or more antibiotics and endotracheal intubation in the HCA infection group. However, malignant tumors and hematological diseases were identified as protective factors against CRAB infection in the HCA group. Conclusion: These data suggest that HCA A. baumannii infection is quite different from CA infection, with antimicrobial resistance and 30-day mortality rates similar to those of nosocomial infections. Additionally, the risk factors for CRAB development in the CA, HCA, and nosocomial groups were not the same, which may provides the help for controlling practices and instruction empirical clinical medication. Genetic studies of nontraditional glycemic biomarkers, glycated albumin and fructosamine, can shed light on unknown aspects of type 2 diabetes genetics and biology. We performed a multiphenotype genome-wide association study of glycated albumin and fructosamine from 7,395 White and 2,016 Black participants in the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study on common variants from genotyped/imputed data. We discovered two genome-wide significant loci, one mapping to a known type 2 diabetes gene (ARAP1/STARD10) and another mapping to a novel region (UGT1A complex of genes), using multiomics gene-mapping strategies in diabetes-relevant tissues. We identified additional loci that were ancestry- and sex-specific (e.g., PRKCA in African ancestry, FCGRT in European ancestry, TEX29 in males). Further, we implemented multiphenotype gene-burden tests on whole-exome sequence data from 6,590 White and 2,309 Black ARIC participants. Ten variant sets annotated to genes across different variant aggregation strategies were exome-wide significant only in multiancestry analysis, of which CD1D , EGFL7/AGPAT2 , and MIR126 had notable enrichment of rare predicted loss of function variants in African ancestry despite smaller sample sizes. Overall, 8 of 14 discovered loci and genes were implicated to influence these biomarkers via glycemic pathways, and most of them were not previously implicated in studies of type 2 diabetes. This study illustrates improved locus discovery and potential effector gene discovery by leveraging joint patterns of related biomarkers across the entire allele frequency spectrum in multiancestry analysis. Future investigation of the loci and genes potentially acting through glycemic pathways may help us better understand the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Article Highlights: Glycated albumin and fructosamine are biomarkers reflecting aspects of the glycemic process different from glycated hemoglobin or blood glucose levels. Thus, they can shed light on unknown aspects of type 2 diabetes genetics and biology. We leveraged array-based and exome sequence data on multiancestry individuals in the U.S. to discover yet-unidentified genes. We discovered 14 common variant loci and rare variant genes associated with glycated albumin and/or fructosamine, some of which have been implicated in type 2 diabetes.
