A questionnaire containing questions of demographic information, the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14) and the Huaxi emotional-distress index (HEI) was employed to assess OHRQoL and ED. According to the HEI score, the respondents were divided into ED group (HEI > 8) and non-ED group (HEI ≤ 8). Data were analyzed using Kolmogorov–Smirnov test, Mann–Whitney test and logistic regression analysis with the significance level set at p < 0.05.Results: The prevalence of poor OHRQoL and ED of the study sample was 28.4% and 19.57%, respectively. There was a significantly higher prevalence of ED among poor OHRQoL patients (35.67%) compared to those with good OHRQoL (13.19%) (p < 0.001). Poor OHRQoL and risky drinking behavior addressed higher significant correlation with ED patients than non-ED patients (p < 0.05). There were no statistical differences in other factors such as gender, age, and appliance type (p > 0.05). 115. Highly reliable quantum dot laser directly grown on CMOS compatible Si (001) substrate

Abstract

We present highly reliable InAs/GaAs quantum dot lasers directly grown on CMOS compatible Si (001) substrate without any predefined pattern or intermediate material. Under 300mA driving current, the continuous wave optical power reaches 91mW and 70mW at 25 °C and 85 °C, respectively, with no obvious thermal rollover. Whilst operating at 85°C 100mA, the lasers have demonstrated lifetime beyond 3000 hours and the observed optical power deterioration is less than 5%.

129. CURE: A Hierarchical Framework for Multi-Robot Autonomous Exploration Inspired by Centroids of Unknown Regions

Abstract

In this paper, a novel multi-robot autonomous exploration approach CURE is proposed based on dynamic Voronoi diagrams and centroids of unknown connected regions. Compared with existing approaches, the novelty of this work is twofold: 1) Dynamic Voronoi diagram is used for partition of the space being explored to improve the efficiency of multi-robot exploration, and then a new parameter-insensitive utility function is elaborately designed to evaluate the information of centroids, which helps guide the robot to explore unknown regions. 2) A hierarchical framework consisting of global and local exploration windows for detecting centroids is designed, wherein the global exploration window is activated to find centroids to guide the robot exploration when there are no centroids in any one local exploration window. We validate the feasibility and exploration efficiency of the proposed approach in various complex simulation scenarios and challenging real-world tasks. All test results show that the exploration time consumption and path cost are reduced by up to 50.7% and 34.4%, respectively, compared with an advanced RRT-based multi-robot exploration approach. In some applications such as target search and disaster rescue, the information about the environment is totally unknown to the robots, and thus they are required to explore unknown environments autonomously. In this case, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of multi-robot exploration due to the time limitation of the task and the battery capacity. In this paper, a hierarchical framework is proposed to improve the efficiency of multi-robot autonomous exploration. Each robot only needs to explore the Voronoi partition it is responsible for and is guided to the unknown region by the centroid detected in the global and local exploration windows. Overall, the proposed approach can dramatically reduce the exploration time and path cost.

Abstract

The H2O2-triggered prodrug activation represents a hot topic while the low H2O2 level of cancer cells hindered the complete activation of parent drugs and resulted in the poor therapeutic effect. Here, we developed an H2O2 amplifier fabricated by cross-linked lipoic acid nanocapsules (cLANCs), which would selectively elevate the intracellular H2O2 level of cancer cells 3.4-fold higher than that of untreated cancer cells so as to speed up the activation of parent drug from the loaded prodrugs (Pro-5-FU). The cytotoxicity showed that the killing effect of Pro-5-FU loaded in cLANCs (Pro-5-FU@cLANCs) arrived up to 1.6-time higher than that of Pro-5-FU alone against A549 cells, and was even close to free 5-FU. The in vivo anticancer evaluation gave the tumor inhibition rate (TIR) and survival rate (SR) of Pro-5-FU@cLANCs against A549 tumor-bearing nude mice up to 73.1% and 80%, respectively, much higher than those of Pro-5-FU (TIR: 41.2%, SR: 20%) or free 5-FU (TIR: 50.6%, SR: 0%).
