Referring to PPP Books 2017-2023 issued by The Ministry of National Development Planning of Indonesia, there is only 1 out of 16 AP PPP projects at the municipal/regency level that have successfully reached the operational stage (6% success rate), i.e. Madiun Regency Public Street Lighting. Several municipal/regency AP PPP projects have failed, for example, Bandung Municipal Public Street Lighting. The widespread failures indicate that the application of AP in regional infrastructure has so far not been successful in Indonesia. This paper aims to identify the basic requirements, critical success factors, and lessons learned from AP PPP implementation in Municipal/Regency Governments. Thus, it is hoped that the future provision of regional infrastructure with the AP scheme can proceed seamlessly. This study used a mixed-method approach that combines qualitative and quantitative data from literature reviews, questionnaires, and interviews. The results showed that the basic requirements for AP PPP include the existence of regulations and institutions. The five main success factors of AP PPP in the Municipal/Regency Government are (1) a well-organized and committed public agency; (2) political support; (3) favorable and efficient legal framework; (4) stable political and economic situation; and (5) public and private sector commitments and responsibilities. The lesson learned from the case study is that fiscal capacity is not the main factor in the success of PPP in Madiun Regency, but rather the willingness of the local government to implement PPP by regularly holding capacity building and maintaining good relationships and communication with each stakeholder involved.

Outsourcing the production of finished products to Contract manufacturing has gained popularity with brand owners who want to focus on their core business activities. Contract manufacturing companies in South Africa have generally struggled to operate sustainably. The reasons for this are varied. There is very little empirical research that has been conducted to determine the factors that are critical for contract manufacturing companies to operate sustainably. This study was conducted to close this gap by obtaining input from experts with experience in contract manufacturing. The method used was a two-round Delphi study and this paper describes the outputs from the second round where the critical success factors for successful contract manufacturing emerged. The factors were identified based on the experts achieving pre-determined consensus criteria in their responses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The inadequacy of infrastructure projects in the municipal sector across South Africa has escalated because of various factors. This study aims to uncover the underlying causes of infrastructure project failures in municipalities, the critical success factors for addressing these failures, and the consequences of these failures. A quantitative research approach was employed, which utilized survey questionnaires developed through a literature review as the foundation. The questionnaires were administered using Microsoft Forms (Internet Survey), and participants were requested to complete the survey online to offer their perspectives on project failures within the municipal environment, with a focus on the local municipalities in Gauteng Province. The results indicated that contractors were the primary cause of project failure in municipalities, and that cash flows and inaccurate costing during the tender stage were the primary factors leading to contractor failure to execute projects. This was also linked to client failures, where awarding the project to the lowest bidder resulted in project failure. Municipalities must ensure that comprehensive due diligence and screening of contractors' financial viability are conducted before tenders are awarded. The analysis revealed that the contractor's ability to deliver quality work is the most critical success factor, followed by the development of a realistic project budget. It was also identified that cost overrun, loss of grant funds, and time overrun were the top three consequences of project failure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The South African Institution of Civil Engineering released a fourth infrastructure report, highlighting the deteriorating state of the country's rail network infrastructure. Lack of maintenance has been identified as the root cause of this problem, leading to a decline in the efficiency and competitiveness of the transportation sector. The current state of infrastructure is expected to increase the number of infrastructure failures, maintenance costs, train cancellations and operating costs. To address capacity demand and maintain quality services, it is essential to adopt effective maintenance management tactics. This study aims to evaluate the maturity level of maintenance management in the South African rail network industry and identify deficiencies and opportunities to enhance existing maintenance processes. This will help to improve the maintenance function, leading to a reduction in infrastructure deterioration. This study conducted an exploratory quantitative survey to assess the overall maturity level of maintenance management in the South African rail network industry, and it was found to be at Level 3. Technological knowledge in the organization seems to be in its early stages. The organization needs to change its perspective on technology and invest in technological advancements to improve the maturity level of this element. As part of future work, research can be conducted on how to align rail network maintenance practices with the advancements brought by Industry 4.0, and the application of these technologies in railway maintenance management. Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is an approach that is widely recognised as useful for improving operational performance. Despite this recognition, it is difficult to implement and failures are common. It is necessary to understand the key factors that are critical to the successful LSS implementation. These factors are often referred to as Critical Success Factors (CSFs). Despite being a consolidated research area, recent reviews lack comprehensive exploration of LSS CSFs. This paper aims to present a comprehensive and critical review of this research area evolution, identifying the main CSFs and the relationships between them, the topics being researched in this field, and research gaps. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was used to develop this article. The results show that the published documents have been increasing in the domain, but impact have been decreasing. The review identified the ten most relevant CSFs. The most relevant factors is management commitment, which drive others. The CSFs were identified in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), in service organisations, used for assessment tools, LSS leadership, and used as an integrated approach in Industry 4.0. The latter is an emerging issue that requires more research. This article presents evidence that LSS CSFs are acknowledged and vary little from organisation to organisation. Additional empirical research is needed to validate whether the identified CSFs are the most relevant in real settings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Business intelligence (BI) is a crucial tool for organizations to gain a competitive advantage on the market. BI encompasses collection, analysis and utilization of data to enhance decision-making and drive organizational innovation. The system quality or management support most often influences the success of BI projects. The present article aims to verify the importance of management support in implementing BI solutions. The research was conducted in a global shipping company. The research is based on an illustrative case study in which four managerial tactics were tested. A different form of managerial support was applied to the four newly introduced reports provided by BI tools. The results confirm the importance of management support but also show the impact of other factors influencing user behaviour. Keeping the possibility of using the original data sources played a significant role. Thus, the habit effect manifested itself, as it strongly accompanies all efforts for process changes. So far, business intelligence tools are becoming a part of decision-making processes on an operational basis, but management support is still essential at all job levels.

The role and nature of business-to-business (B2B) sales performance has evolved since the end of the 20th century, largely due to technological, organizational, and societal changes. Nevertheless, literature has not yet been able to evolve along with it. The literature lacks research that exclusively shows a framework for determining the critical factors affecting the success of sales performance at the business-to-business (B2B) level. Therefore, this research has been conducted using a mixed method (qualitative and quantitative) to determine the impact of critical factors on the success of business-to-business (B2B) sales performance. At first, the qualitative method of systematic review was used. According to this method, out of 269 articles related to the topic, the results of 40 articles published in reliable databases from 1980 to 2022 have been reviewed and analyzed. Further, interviews were conducted with industry experts in this field, and data analysis was done with the help of SPSS software. The results of the research indicate that success in B2B sales performance may be influenced by 31 effective factors related to four dimensions: individual, organizational, environmental, and customer level. Finally, the limitations of the research and recommendations regarding success in B2B sales performance are provided.

Sustainability is one of the emerging areas in building construction, and it is widely investigated in terms of bringing sustainable technology into construction. However, one of the biggest challenges in the construction industry is implementing sustainability. Building contractors and construction practitioners mostly struggle with the implementation of sustainability due to the lack of certain parameters that define sustainability. Therefore, this study investigates the factors for effective sustainability implementation to provide industry practitioners with the benefit of the extensive list of parameters when designing their sustainability program. To research the parameters, a questionnaire was designed and administered to construction professionals with wide experience in sustainability implementation. The respondents were asked to evaluate a set of sustainability factors in the economic, social, and environmental domains. This way, the study provides reflections from construction practitioners working on large projects. The findings indicated that Ethical and Relational Factors in economic sustainability, Historical and Social Relations Factors in social sustainability, and Material Usage Factors in environmental sustainability are the most important for effective sustainability implementation. The findings are expected to help construction practitioners understand metrics of sustainability, effectively manage their projects, and successfully implement sustainability with the consideration of proper metrics.

The adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the food supply chains (FSC) can address unique challenges of food safety, quality and wastage by improving transparency and traceability. However, the technology adoption literature in FSC is still the in infancy stage, meaning little is known about the critical success factors (CSFs) that could affect the adoption of AI in FSC. Therefore, this study makes a pioneering attempt by examining the CSFs influencing the adoption of AI in the Food Supply Chain (FSC). A conceptual framework based on TOEH (Technology–Organisation–Environment–Human) theory is used to determine the CSFs influencing AI adoption in the context of Indian FSC. The rough-SWARA technique was used to rank and prioritise the CSFs for AI adoption using the relative importance weights. The results of the study indicate that technology readiness, security, privacy, customer satisfaction, perceived benefits, demand volatility, regulatory compliance, competitor pressure and information sharing among partners are the most significant CSFs for adopting AI in FSC. The findings of the study would be useful for AI technology providers, supply chain specialists and government agencies in framing appropriate policies to foster the adoption of AI in FSC the sector. The world is witnessing a difficult time trying to circumscribe the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. The situation has become even more challenging as several natural disasters and emergencies coincided with this pandemic and created a situation of concurrent emergency. Effectively managing concurrent emergencies are extremely challenging. Only by utilizing and applying the knowledge gathered while combating a real-life concurrent emergency, one can further be prepared to face such emergencies. Hence, this study intends to identify the critical success factors (CSFs) having a major role in effective management of concurrent emergencies and evaluate the indispensable links among the factors. Twelve CSFs are identified from Pareto analysis, for which feedback from 46 experts involved in the management of emergencies is utilized. In addition, the revised rough-decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (rough-DEMATEL) approach is suggested to analyze the indispensable links among the CSFs and further, these factors are ranked based on the average vector length. The recent case of concurrent emergency in Bangladesh- floods amid a pandemic is considered to establish the applicability of this method. The findings of this research reveal that to handle concurrent emergencies 'Incremental improvement of proactive measures', 'Resilient supply chain and logistics network', and 'Government leadership and military cooperation' are the most critical factors to concurrent emergency management (CEM). These CSFs play a major role in ensuring the effectiveness of CEM. Thus, this study can be a building block in developing an effective CEM plan for the policymakers, managers, and practitioners. The construction industry is complex and suffers from considerable challenges related to Project Delivery Systems (PDS) most notably cost overruns and delays. Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) has gained traction in recent years and is lauded to be an effective mechanism to overcome many of these challenges. However, implementing IPD in practice is not an easy endeavor, and there is a need to understand the motivation to adopt it as well as to understand the key challenges and critical success factors for its effective implementation. This exploratory study aims to address this deficit. We capture real-world data from professionals in the Irish construction industry to understand current practices and analyze the perceived challenges and critical success factors for the successful implementation of IPD. Our findings reveal a significant lack of awareness among participants regarding IPD and very low levels of implementation. Issues such as lack of trust, fear of litigation and reluctance to change are the major barriers to implementation. Critical success factors for successful implementation center on establishing integrated systems such as BIM and ensuring that information, process knowledge and organizational teams are integrated. This study presents empirical research examining how economic and political imperatives impact prospects for successful use of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) to deliver projects in Saudi Arabia. A conceptual model and several hypotheses are developed. A questionnaire survey obtains data from two hundred and fifty-seven (257) project management practitioners involved in projects being procured using PPP within Saudi Arabia. Data is analysed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The conclusion is that economic, but not political imperatives moderate the relationship between Critical Success Factors (CSFs) and PPP project success in Saudi Arabia. To an extent, these findings offer a risk-focussed typology for exploring conditions for PPP project success. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The purpose of our study is to examine the manager's attitudes towards different aspects of kaizen, their commitment to the idea of kaizen, and their attitudes towards the motivation and participation of employees. We use a questionnaire to investigate the attitudes of 124 managers -- 62 economists and 62 engineers, from 62 manufacturing companies operating in Serbia. We employ exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and Mann-Whitney's U test. We find a moderate level of managers' agreement with the statements on the importance and effects of kaizen, and a relatively low level of agreement with the statements on employees' participation and motivation. Using the EFA, managers' attitudes are grouped into three areas requiring attention -- perceived kaizen effects, employees' development and motivation, and employees' participation. Finally, we find that economists and engineers do not differ in their attitudes towards kaizen, which indicates their similar and common attitudes towards certain aspects of kaizen. We contribute to the literature by examining managers' attitudes towards the critical success factors of kaizen implementation and identifying the areas requiring more attention from the managers to support the social aspects of kaizen implementation and effects. Our results should change the perceptions of managers and contribute to the development of a new approach that involves more active and effective managers' participation in the kaizen implementation. Our results can also be beneficial to practitioners seeking to implement and use kaizen more efficiently in their companies. Although our study does not consider the direct impact of a specific economic environment on kaizen implementation, it can be beneficial to companies in emerging and transitioning economies similar to Serbian. Implementing infrastructure development projects using public–private partnership (PPP) delivery method has not been widely successful, particularly in developing countries such as Iran. Therefore, it is essential and indispensable to evaluate the critical success factors (CSFs) for completing abandoned public sports facilities projects (APSFPs) via private sector participation under the PPP model. The current study aims to determine the CSFs for private sector participation in completing APSFPs based in Iran. The significance of this study stems from the criticality of deciding on CSFs as the first step of providing an appropriate platform for completing APSFPs in developing countries, including Iran, and encouraging more successful implementation in practice. This research promotes strategic thinking about PPP strategy and the effective use of resources by identifying CSFs required for completing APSFPs with success. To achieve the research objective, the Delphi survey method was applied to identify CSFs for private sector participation in completing APSFPs in Iran. The hands-on opinions of 10 experts in public sports facilities projects were gathered through three Delphi rounds of survey using a semi-structured questionnaire. The reliability and face, content, and structural validity of the questionnaire were also investigated and checked. A total of 20 CSFs for completion of APSFPs through private sector participation in Iran were determined and analyzed. The identified CSFs were further grouped into five different major factor categories: legal and regulatory, strategic/executive, political/cultural/social, process/structural/human and economic/financial. The findings of this study suggest that practical effective strategies or pragmatic measures need to be developed to enhance the successful completion of APSFPs in Iran and other developing countries under the PPP delivery model. This study presents a model inspired by the Burke-Litwin causal model of the organization, suitable to encompass both individual and organizational performance and aligned with the proposal of a structure explicitly adapted for sports organizations from De Knop. The model was tested on senior management in 131 tennis clubs registered in Serbia. Although some scholars are against the implementation of common management in sports organizations, the results show that well-structured total quality and human resource management processes genuinely increase the effectiveness of sports organizations. Our findings show that critical success factors of this approach were complexity-based leadership, clearly defined mission and vision of the organizations, informal communication paired with unambiguous policies and comprehensible procedures, and broader operational responsibilities given to the employees. The levels of legal compliance and reward management systems were the main weaknesses of these sports organizations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Business is a war to get the attention you deserve from your enemies, and many competitors strive to gain a prominent position. Organizations are constantly seeking innovative ways to work to stay in a competitive business environment. Business process reengineering (BPR) is one of the most management approaches that are adopted by many organizations in order to achieve a dramatic increase in performance and cost reduction. Since the risks enfolded and failure rates related to BPR projects are very high, it is necessary to find ways to support success of BPR in a systematic approach. The major target of this article is to find the implementation of the proposed model to reengineer business processes (BPs) successfully via integrating critical success factors (CSFs) of BPR and BPs' performance. It is created to detect the inefficiencies and bottlenecks in the business process, decrease costs, time and increase quality of business processes, enhance financial environment and make an effective and efficient performance of the business process. It also applies a mining technique of association rule to examine the link between CSFs and several BPs and measures business processes' performance (intended BPR success) by process time, cycle time, quality and cost pre and post reengineering BPs. Thus, it uses a way to select the appropriate model for each business process. The proposed model will be implemented using a real world the Egyptian tax authority case study in order to prove its usefulness and efficiency. Then, inferred CSFs were applied according to each process, which proved the validity and success of the proposed model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It is critical to identify ways to successfully implement blockchain which can transform the operations of shipping companies in the coming years. In this light, this study aims to explore the critical success factors (CSFs) of blockchain implementation using a comprehensive theory-driven approach, which is largely ignored by previous studies. The theoretical model is grounded on the synthesis of diffusion of innovation, resource-based view, institutional theory, stakeholder theory and technology-organization-environment framework. Correspondingly, five main-criteria and seventeen sub-criteria are identified. Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process is applied to rank the CSFs based on the feedback from experienced managers and directors working in maritime shipping companies. The findings show that in descending order of importance, the top five sub-criteria of blockchain implementation are relative advantage, internal leadership, human resources capability, scalability and ease of use. This study has provided a novel theoretical framework for blockchain CSFs research, offered strategy formulation in relation to marketing, technological skills upgrade, investments and subsidization, and knowledge cluster sharing to support blockchain implementation in the maritime industry. In this study, the critical success factors (CSFs): organizational e-procurement competency, change management program, top management support, end-user training, supplier involvement, and e-procurement implementation strategy, that best support the management implementation of e-procurement initiatives in the Nigerian upstream sector of the oil and gas firms were examined. The study adopted a survey research design. The population of the study consists of all staff of the procurement entities of the respective Nigerian upstream sector of the oil and gas firms. A total of 232 copies of structured questionnaire were administered through convenience sampling technique while 229 copies were successfully retrieved. The model framework was estimated using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) technique through the use of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 22. It was revealed that all the CSFs examined have positive significant relationship with management implementation of e-procurement initiatives in the Nigerian upstream sector of the oil and gas firms. It was also revealed that organizational e-procurement competency confirmed the main factor that best support the management implementation of eprocurement initiative as displayed by the staff of the selected Nigerian upstream sector of the oil and gas firms. The study recommends that management should make end-users of new technology see change as a necessary ingredient for the growth of the organization because things cannot continuously be done the same way over time. Thus, top management support is needed in ensuring that end-users are trained with the requisite skills in the use of eprocurement practices. Also, management should build good business synergy, sensitization, confidence, and create opportunities for suppliers to offer their contributions/feedbacks in terms of necessary changes, issues, and concerns in developing and maintaining supplier catalogues/workability of the proposed e-procurement initiative. This will allow management to monitor areas for improvement and adjustment of e-procurement practices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the current digital era, understanding the role of Data Analytics Capabilities (DAC) in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is essential for businesses seeking better decision-making. While DAC is acknowledged as a Critical Success Factor (CSF) for CRM systems, there is a gap in empirical evidence quantifying its effect on business profitability. This study aims to (1) present the conceptual foundation of the impact of DAC for CRM systems on marketing decisions and business profitability, and (2) empirically estimate the impact of integrating DAC on marketing performance and business profitability. Focusing on the retail sector, the study gathered 131 questionnaires from employees involved in CRM and DAC in Lebanon, and used the SPSS tool for data analysis. The research findings provide advanced empirical evidence of the importance of DAC as a CSF for CRM systems, alongside people, process, and technology dimensions. Results show that the integration of DAC represents a significant step forward in enhancing the effectiveness of CRM systems and achieving better business profitability. This study challenges the conventional understanding of technology's role in improving business outcomes, thus providing valuable theoretical and practical implications for organizations aiming to enhance their CRM systems. In addition to the tools and techniques available, project risk management also depends on the attitudes of people in an organisation, how the available tools are used, and how the procedures are followed. Therefore, efforts to improve the project risk management capacity of organisations may fail if the diversity of people (characters, traits etc.) involved is neglected. Based on this argument, the aim of this study is to demonstrate that companies can improve project risk management using the perspectives of their key experts. In this context, an approach was proposed based on Q-Methodology and a case study has been conducted in a construction company in the Netherlands. The quantitative output obtained through Q-Methodology application was evaluated in conjunction with the qualitative data gathered from interviews conducted with the managers of different units within the company. As a result of this evaluation, three common perspectives were identified among the respondents under the names of 'Experience and Belief', 'Procedures and Management' and 'Culture and Communication', respectively. Then, a number of recommendations were made to the company. First, customized management approaches that integrate and balance the identified perspectives should be adopted. Second, a mature organisational risk management culture should be promoted. Project charters that specifically target risk management culture in projects can be used for this purpose. Third, risk management should be integrated into other activities, making it a normal part of employees' daily work. Finally, but not exclusively, the employees should be instructed on the use of risk registers and guidance should be put in place on how often they are expected to update the risk registers. This study demonstrates the benefit of considering employee diversity and leveraging perspectives in unlocking the potential of construction companies in terms of project risk management. CRITICAL success factor ,TWENTIETH century - Abstract
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Online healthcare supply chain management (OHCSCM) in rural areas is a matter of concern and is susceptible to policy changes, especially after the alarms raised by the COVID‐19 pandemic. This study aims to develop an approach towards examining the state and building a framework for examining the OHCSCM in rural areas. The study develops a framework by integrating various theories and methodologies like stakeholders' theory, critical success factor (CSF) theory, triple bottom line theory, fuzzy set theory, evidential reasoning approach, and scenario analysis for identifying the dynamism among the CSFs. The developed framework helps prioritize the CSFs based on environmental, economic, and social perspectives. Further, the model helps create scenarios for decision‐makers to improve the understanding of the CSFs influencing OHCSCM and achieve sustainability. The study reveals that infrastructure development, security and privacy of data, and use of predictive tools are the top factors that need immediate attention. By recognizing the interdependencies and interactions between these factors, managers can develop a more comprehensive and integrated approach to OHCSCM in rural areas. This understanding enables them to identify potential bottlenecks, streamline processes, and optimize resource allocation, ultimately saving valuable time and resources for achieving sustainability in the online healthcare supply chain in rural areas. Agri-food supply chains (AFSCs) are essential for addressing global food security and promoting the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal of reducing hunger. These chains stand out because they deal with perishable goods that have limited shelf life and are subjected to erratic agricultural situations, such as fluctuating weather. To preserve sustainability and competitiveness, innovative approaches such as cross-border knowledge mobilization are essential for effective AFSC management. To identify the elements essential to effective knowledge mobilization within AFSCs, this study explores the dynamics of this process. Eleven potential critical success factors (CSFs) are identified and analyzed by using questionnaire surveys to collect extensive data from AFSC practitioners. The results of a multiple regression analysis show that eight of the identified criteria are strongly correlated with knowledge mobilization success. Notably, two parameters show negative correlations, indicating intricate interactions in the dynamics of knowledge. The study's findings highlight the value of strategic knowledge management for increasing the efficacy and efficiency of AFSCs and advancing the larger objective of sustainable food security. This research advances the goal of eliminating world hunger by exposing the complex effects of these CSFs and offering practitioners and policymakers useful insights for enhancing AFSC operations. PUBLIC-private sector cooperation , *CRITICAL success factor , *LITERATURE reviews , *PUBLIC sector , *MUNICIPAL services ,DEVELOPING countries - Abstract
Public private partnerships (PPPs) have become increasingly common as a result of states' shifting roles in infrastructure services from service providers and operators to policymakers and regulators. PPPs have been established as a prominent technique of public service procurement in both developed and developing countries. PPPs give the parties the opportunity to split the costs and risks of providing a public service or building a public infrastructure. Successful project management is crucial, especially in light of PPP projects' size and complexity. This study investigates the critical success factors (CSFs) of PPP investments in developing countries. In this regard, 23 CSFs were selected based on a thorough literature review, and a questionnaire survey was run to examine the impact of those factors on PPP performance. The information is gathered from 82 different companies in Türkiye that represent both the public and private sectors. The statistical analysis results show that favorable legal framework, detailed and clear project identification, and extensive cost-benefit assessment are the most significant drivers of success. Additionally, factor analysis is used on the data to investigate and identify underlying correlations between the factors, as well as to categorize them into fewer, more focused, and more thorough factors. The results of factor analysis suggest five dimensions; namely project finance, project management, operational factors, procurement, and organizational factors. The study's findings are anticipated to benefit both the public sector in its focus on legal concerns to permit better operation and the contractors in its examination of their capacity to manage big projects more effectively. Currently, because of global competition, companies within the manufacturing industry must implement new organizational and production techniques to compete and stay active. The use of continuous improvement tools has become an opportunity and an effective strategy to achieve this. However, there is evidence that many continuous improvement programs are not successfully implemented due to a lack of information related to human management during the implementation of these projects in the manufacturing industry. In this context, the objective of this research is to identify factors influencing the dynamics and effectiveness of work teams for the implementation and development of continuous improvement tools in the manufacturing industry. A literature review was conducted using the PRISMA method, considering scientific articles related to the main factors that affect the dynamics and effectiveness of work teams in relation to the implementation of continuous improvement tools. From the review and evaluation of the studies, 60 factors were identified that affect the effectiveness of work teams in relation to continuous improvement within the manufacturing industry. Subsequently, a Pareto analysis was conducted on the critical success factors based on the number of occurrences in the analyzed literature, identifying 32 critical success factors considered vital for the implementation of continuous improvement projects. It is concluded that the factors arise from two common elements, the involvement of senior management and the company's own culture. Therefore, to ensure the effectiveness of work teams and their continuous improvement projects, management must focus attention on this cultural change mainly by providing the necessary resources for the development of the project, establishing an adequate and effective reward system, and, most importantly, directing efforts towards staff empowerment.
