The United States, and its allies, have launched an attack on the Taliban government of Afghanistan and the al-Qaeda terrorists in that country. Details of the military operation are discussed.

US Army General Tommy R. Franks, the theater commander of the Afghanistan campaign, is satisfied with the progress of the campaign. Franks believes that the progress being made has been effective, and that victory is the ultimate goal.
