Fifteen dairy Shami goats (5 per group) were fed three different DCAD levels, (T1) control group contain a high DCAD level feeding positive DCAD diet (+215 mEq/kg DM), (T2) fed (zero DCAD) and (T3) fed a low DCAD level feeding negative DCAD (-150 mEq/Kg DM). Feeding positive DCAD diet (T1) resulted in higher (P <0.05) plasma pH than dairy Shami goats fed the negative dietary DCAD. Plasma calcium, phosphorus and Magnesium concentration increased significantly (P <0.05) with decreasing DCAD level. The highest significant (P < 0.05) plasma calcium, phosphorus and Magnesium level was recorded for group (3) (-150 mEq/kg DM) and the lowest was obtained with group (1) (+215 mEq/Kg DM). Plasma parathyroid hormone (PTH) concentration decreased significantly (P < 0.05) with decreasing DCAD. The lower DCAD value was recorded with negative DCAD and increased significantly with (zero DCAD), While, the higher were recorded with positive DCAD group. The negative DCAD fed to group (T3) showed significantly (P<0.05) the highest milk yield followed by group (T2) fed (Zero DCAD), while the control group (T1) positive DCAD had the lowest milk yield. Anionic salts didn't affect milk total solid (TS), Ash, Moisture and solid not fat (SNF), However milk protein and fat were increased in treatment (3) when compared with other treatments. The group (T1) fed positive DCAD (+215 mEq/Kg DM) showed significantly (P<0.05) the highest somatic cell count and lactose followed by group (T2) fed (zero DCAD), while, negative DCAD (-150/mEq/Kg DM) fed group (T3) had the lowest. Based on the study, Lowering DCAD beyond (-150) mEq/kg DM improves the lactation performance and some physiological parameters of dairy Shami goats. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present research paper handles a 2D deformation in a homogeneous thermoelastic photothermal semiconducting medium subjected to a magnetic field and initial stress with an internal heat source. The problem is framed in the dimensionless form and resolved utilizing the normal mode analysis method. Based on a numerical study using the parameters of silicon as a target, the physical data were attained and tested. They presented the magnetic field and initial stress. It is observed that the magnetic field and initial stress exert some influence in the P-waves in a photothermal semiconducting medium due to internal heat source. The distribution of these quantities was represented graphically with and without the internal heat source, as well as the magnetic field and the initial stress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article discusses the operating principle and simulation of closed loop control of a three phase induction motor (IM) powered by five level diode clamped multilevel inverter (DCMLI) using direct torque control (DTC) technique. The main purpose of this article is to regulate the torque and speed of an IM and to decrease total harmonic distortion (THD). In this article, a five-level inverter's direct modulation approach with the dc link voltage self-balancing is presented. To reduce capacitor voltage variation, the redundancies of various switch topologies for the creation of intermediate voltages are also used. The use of LC filter results in lower output voltage and current distortion. A multicarrier PWM control technique is used for DCMLI to provide high quality sinusoidal output voltage with decreased harmonics. This can be obtained by employing Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) method for speed and torque control. This demonstrates that the recommended method of controlling the motor's speed and torque is effective. The simulation result reveals that DTC for the five-level inverter fed IM drive gives a rapid dynamic response, lower voltage and current THDs, and much less flux and torque distortion. Moringa oleifera L. (moringa) is known as one of the most useful multipurpose plants. It can be effectively utilized as a natural biopesticide and inhibitor of several plant pathogens. Thus, it can be included in integrated pest management strategies. Moringa and its products have different uses in many agricultural systems. The use of moringa as a crop enhancer is an eco-friendly way of improving crop yields at the lowest possible cost. This inexpensive increase in productivity can contribute to meeting some of the food needs in some parts of the world as the global population increases and poverty rates rise. One of the most important characteristics of moringa is that it has high biological and nutritional values and can be used as animal feed, green fertilizer, medicine, biopesticide and in seed production. Moringa has been characterized as a potentially useful animal feed owing to its high content of protein, carotenoids, several minerals and vitamins (such as iron and ascorbic acid) and certain phytochemicals (kaempferitrin, isoquercitrin, rhamnetin, kaempferol and quercetin). This review aims to provide more knowledge about the nature, nutritional value, phytochemicals and uses of Moringa oleifera as a promising material in the fields of soil and plant management, water treatment, as well as animal and poultry production.

This paper presents a user-centred design and evaluation methodology for ensuring the usability of IR interfaces. The methodology is based on sequentially performing: a competitive analysis, user task analysis, heuristic evaluation, formative evaluation and a summative comparative evaluation. These techniques are described, and their application to iteratively design a prototype IR interface, which was then evaluated, is described. After each round of testing, the prototype was modified as needed. The user-centred methodology had a major impact in improving the interface. Results from the summative comparative evaluation suggest that users' performance improved significantly in our prototype interface compared with a similar competitive system. They were also more satisfied with the prototype design. This methodology provides a starting point for techniques that let IR researchers and practitioners design better IR interfaces that are both easy to learn to use and remember. This article reports on an empirical study on novices' learning and retention with the Web-based interface to the Web of Science. The aim was to evaluate the performance of novice searchers in initially learning to use the search interface and in later use. Their performance in both sessions was measured in terms of time taken to perform tasks, search terms used, success of the tasks performed and error rates. At the end of each session, novices' subjective satisfaction with the interface was also measured. The results showed that novices' performance was better in the learning session. Their performance in the retention session declined significantly in terms of success score as they forgot the interface functionalities from one search session to another. Novices' subjective satisfaction with the interface was also higher in their learning session. Their satisfaction rating with the interface declined sharply in the retention session. The Web of Science interface suffers from usability problems which made its functionalities difficult to learn and remember for naive searchers. (Contains 3 tables.)

A sample of one hundred of diabetes mellitus patients included in research from inpatients and outpatients of El Haram Hospital-Giza Governorate, Egypt. They were divided into two groups, 50 patients each, from inpatients and outpatients of El Haram hospital, and divided the sample to 25 males and 25 females at the group ages from 31 to 50 years old. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of different management systems (Intensive and semi-intensive systems) and using Zeolite substance as growth promoting on growth performance of Ossimi male lamb's, carcass traits, blood metabolites and economic efficiency. Twenty male lambs at 6 months of age were divided randomly to two groups (ten lambs per each group) were fed individually. Frist group lambs were reared on semi-intensive management system. The second group of lambs was reared on intensive management system. Every management system was divided into two feeding group (five lambs per each group), first group was fed on diet containing 0% Zeolite (control diet) according to NRC (2007) recommendations and the second group was fed on diet containing 1% Zeolite (treatment group). All experimental lambs in each group weighed fasting individually to the nearest kilogram monthly till the end of experimental period (120 days). Both of the consumed diets and refusals, if any, were recorded daily. Body weight gain, average daily gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio and economic efficiency were then calculated. At the end of the fattening period six male lambs from each group were slaughtered for carcass evaluation. Furthermore, blood samples were collected and analyzed. Results showed that intensive management system lambs group fed on diet containing 1% Zeolite had a better growth performance, carcass traits, blood metabolites and economic efficiency of lambs and it had higher advantages without adverse effect on the studied traits.
