Quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) hold great promise for next-generation display applications owing to their exceptional optical properties and versatile tunability. In this study, we investigate the effects of quantum dot (QD) shell thickness, polyethylenimine (PEI) concentration, and PEI layer position on the performance of inverted QLED devices. Two types of alloyed-core/shell QDs with varying shell thicknesses were synthesized using a one-pot method with mean particle sizes of 8.0 ± 0.9 nm and 10.3 ± 1.3 nm for thin- and thick-shelled QDs, respectively. Thick-shelled QDs exhibited a higher photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) and a narrower emission linewidth compared to their thin-shelled counterparts. Next, QLEDs employing these QDs were fabricated. The incorporation of PEI layers on either side of the QD emissive layer significantly enhanced device performance. Using PEI on the hole transport side resulted in greater improvement than on the electron injection side. Sandwiching the QD layer between two PEI layers led to the best performance, with a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 17% and a peak luminance of 91,174 cd/m2 achieved using an optimized PEI concentration of 0.025 wt% on both electron injection and hole injection sides. This study highlights the critical role of QD shell engineering and interfacial modification in achieving high-performance QLEDs for display applications.

It is thought that it is important to determine the attitudes of the postgraduate students we can see as academicians of the future in terms of making education activities by mobile devices quality and effective learning activities. The purpose of this study is determining the postgraduate Students' opinions about the mobile learning and attitudes about mobile learning. The mixed research model was adopted in this study. The research was carried out in Konya Necmettin Erbakan University, Ahmet Kelesoglu Education Faculties with 30 students studying in different departments in 2016-2017 academic year. In the result it is reached that Postgraduate Students' attitudes about mobile learning doesn't change according to their gender status, age groups, education status and daily Internet using but change according to mobile device ownership status. Also, Qualitative findings were positive opinions in the use of mobile technologies in education, mobile technologies benefit teachers and students, the effects of mobile technology on attitude and motivation, future of mobile technology education headings. There are very few negative opinions in these headings. "Which is the best lesson for using mobile technology?" The answer to this question has often been defined as science, information technology and social science.

Abstract In hot‐arid climatic regions like Qatar, it is important to facilitate pedestrians' journeys. One way to do so is by providing them with shelters, that is, from a station to their destination building. It is necessary for such shelters to provide on‐site space cooling and freshwater in an off‐grid condition. In this respect, the proposed off‐grid system in this study includes bifacial photovoltaic (BPV) and a solar thermal collector for energy generation with battery and thermal storage units. BPV with an efficiency of 16% can produce power up to about 6.1 kW on the rooftop, which also reduces the cooling load via effective shading. The ejector‐based cooling system is deployed for efficient space cooling in high ambient temperatures (more than 28°C), while for less than 28°C, both fan and water misting systems are operated for the comfort of pedestrians. Finally, an electrodialysis system is integrated to generate freshwater from seawater to be used for drinking and water misting purposes in the off‐grid sustainable shelter. The overall energy and exergy efficiencies of the system are calculated to be 13.2% and 5.29%, respectively. The effects of several parameters are also studied to observe the overall system efficiency and the energy generated and consumed by the system.

Anxiety is the most common mental health problem that occurs with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and due to creating a more inclusive learning environment, children with ASD are placed in general education classrooms. Thus, addressing anxiety problems for children with ASD in school settings become critically important. This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the current qualities of studies and the effects of school-based interventions for reducing anxiety in children with ASD. The study included six studies with a total of 165 participants. A random-effect meta-analysis yielded a moderate overall effect (g = - 0.58, 95% CI [- 0.96, - 0.20], z = - 3.01, p < 0.05) with no significant heterogeneity, Q (5) = 7.31, p = 0.20. Findings of the systematic review indicated that school-based interventions for anxiety problems are still in the early stages, and studies showed significant issues with adaptations of current clinical-based interventions and anxiety measurements to use in school settings for children with ASD. Interpretation of these findings and implications are discussed.

KRAS is the most commonly mutated gene in cancer and is associated with poor prognosis. Up to 44% of gastrointestinal cancers (GI) have KRAS mutations with the highest incidence observed in pancreatic cancer. Successfully targeting a specific mutation KRAS G12C in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has challenged the dogma that KRAS is a “non-druggable” target. With the advent of several RAS inhibitors, the opportunities for targeted therapy in GI cancers appears promising. This article provides in-depth review of KRAS mutations, and recently completed and ongoing clinical trials targeting KRAS mutations in GI cancers. In addition, this article reviews potential limitations for KRAS targeting in GI cancers.

Background: We aimed to describe the thiamine status in hospitalized hypervolemic heart failure (HF) and/or renal failure (RF) patients treated with furosemide and to investigate whether there was a difference in furosemide-related thiamine deficiency between patients with RF and HF. Methods: Patients who were diagnosed as hypervolemia and treated with intravenous furosemide (at least 40 mg/day) were included in this prospective observational study. Whole blood thiamine concentrations were measured 3 times during hospital follow-up of patients. Results: We evaluated 61 hospitalized hypervolemic patients, of which 22 (36%) were men and 39 (64%) were women, with a mean age of 69.00 ± 10.39 (45–90) years. The baseline and post–hospital admission days 2 and 4 mean thiamine levels were 51.71 ± 20.66 ng/ml, 47.64 ± 15.43 ng/ml and 43.78 ± 16.20 ng/ml, respectively. Thiamine levels of the hypervolemic patients decreased significantly during the hospital stay while furosemide treatment was continuing (p = 0.029). There was a significant decrease in thiamine levels in patients who had HF (p = 0.026) and also, thiamine was significantly lower in HF patients who had previously used oral furosemide before hospitalization. However, these findings were not present in patients with RF. Conclusions: Thiamine substantially decreases in most hypervolemic patients receiving intravenous furosemide treatment during the hospital stay. Thiamine levels were significantly decreased with furosemide treatment in especially HF patients, but the decrease in thiamine levels did not detected at the same rate in RF patients. Diuretic-induced thiamine loss may be less likely in RF patients, probably due to a reduction in excretion. Resumen: Antecedentes: Nos propusimos describir el estado de la tiamina en pacientes hospitalizados con insuficiencia cardíaca (IC) y/o insuficiencia renal (IR) hipervolémica tratados con furosemida, e investigar si había una diferencia en la deficiencia de tiamina relacionada con la furosemida entre los pacientes con IR y con IC. Métodos: En este estudio observacional prospectivo se incluyeron pacientes con diagnóstico de hipervolemia y tratados con furosemida intravenosa (al menos 40 mg/día). Se midieron las concentraciones de tiamina en sangre total 3 veces durante el seguimiento hospitalario de los pacientes. Resultados: Se evaluaron 61 pacientes hipervolémicos hospitalizados, de los cuales 22 (36%) eran hombres y 39 (64%) eran mujeres, con una edad media de 69,00±10,39 (45-90) años. Los niveles medios de tiamina en la línea de base y tras el ingreso hospitalario en los días 2 y 4 fueron de 51,71±20,66 ng/ml, 47,64±15,43 ng/ml y 43,78±16,20 ng/ml, respectivamente. Los niveles de tiamina de los pacientes hipervolémicos hipervolemia disminuyeron significativamente durante la estancia en el hospital mientras se mantenía el tratamiento con furosemida furosemida (p = 0,029). Hubo una disminución significativa de los niveles de tiamina en los pacientes que tenían IC (p = 0,026) y también, la tiamina fue significativamente menor en los pacientes con IC que habían habían utilizado previamente furosemida oral antes de la hospitalización. Sin embargo, estos hallazgos no se presentes en los pacientes con IC. Conclusiones: La tiamina disminuye sustancialmente en la mayoría de los pacientes hipervolémicos que reciben tratamiento con furosemida intravenosa durante la estancia hospitalaria. Los niveles de tiamina se redujeron significativamente con el tratamiento con furosemida, especialmente en los pacientes con IC, pero la disminución de los niveles de tiamina no se detectó al mismo ritmo en los pacientes con IC. La pérdida de tiamina inducida por los diuréticos inducida por los diuréticos puede ser menos probable en los pacientes con insuficiencia cardiaca, probablemente debido a una reducción de la excreción.

Although algebraic reasoning has been considered as an important factor influencing students' mathematical performance, many students struggle to build concrete algebraic reasoning. Metacognitive training has been regarded as one effective method to develop students' algebraic reasoning; however, there are no published meta-analyses that include an examination of the effects of metacognitive training on students' algebraic reasoning. Therefore, the purpose of this meta-analysis was to examine the impact of metacognitive training on students' algebraic reasoning. Eighteen studies with 22 effect sizes were selected for inclusion in the present meta-analysis. In the process of the analysis, one study was determined as an outlier; therefore, another meta-analysis was reconstructed without the outlier to calculate more robust results. The findings indicated that the overall effect size without an outlier equaled d=0.973 with SE=0.196. Q=20.201 (p<0.05) and I[superscript 2] =0.997, which indicated heterogeneity of the studies. These results showed that the metacognitive training had a statistically significant positive impact on students' algebraic reasoning.

The purpose of this meta-analysis was to examine the effects of writing intervention on students' mathematical attainment based on their achievement (mathematics standardized test scores) and their attitudes toward mathematics (mathematical motivation and interest). Twelve studies with 19 effect sizes were selected for inclusion in the present meta-analysis. Results indicated that the overall effect size equalled 0.42. The small sample size (12 studies) in the present meta-analysis limits the generalizations that might be made regarding the overall impact of writing intervention on students' mathematical attainment. However, the implication from the present study is that integrating writing into mathematics classrooms can be a useful instructional strategy to increase students' mathematics success.

Heat recovery from roads is a promising technology to address the urban heat island effect. This review paper aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the current state and future directions of heat recovery from roads to address the urban heat island effect while generating renewable energy. The study covers various aspects such as theoretical background, economic feasibility, environmental impact, and materials design techniques. A systematic search of relevant literature was conducted to analyze and synthesize different heat recovery systems’ efficiency, performance, and potential. The paper also discusses the economic feasibility and environmental impact of these systems, including installation and maintenance costs, revenue generation, and local ecosystem impact. The review explores the role of different materials, such as PEX pipe, asphalt mix, and carbon nanotubes, in improving heat harvesting systems’ efficiency. The paper concludes with a discussion of research gaps and future directions in the field of heat recovery from roads. This study provides a valuable resource for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers interested in sustainable and efficient energy system development.

Cooling Lithium-ion batteries of different C ratings receive excellent attention amongst researchers in thermal management. The present study proposes to investigate the thermohydraulic performance of a wavy channel and compare the finding with the conventional straight channel. The full Navier Stokes equations and the energy equation were solved numerically using the finite element technique. Water is the cooling liquid used in the simulation. The flow is laminar and steady state. It is found that the average Nusselt number is higher as the waviness of the channel wall increases. The average Nusselt number for the wavy channel case was increased by up to 31% compared to the straight channel configuration. Also, the performance evaluation criterion increases by 23% compared to straight channel configuration. Thus, allowing the fluid to absorb more heat. However, at the expense of the pressure drop, the performance evaluation criterion is higher for the wavy wall channel mode than the straight channel wall. Amongst all fluids studied in this paper, including water, ammonia, isopropanol, Ammonia binary mixture and TiO2 nanofluid at different concentrations, ammonia is the most suitable liquid for cooling.
