We present the case of a 28-year-old male patient, heterosexual, with negative HIV who developed an intense skin rash characterized by the presence of confluent vesicles, pustules, and umbilicated papules on the penis and pubic region with little spread to the rest of the body, without lymphadenopathy or systemic manifestations, four days after having sexual relations with an apparently healthy prostitute. The swabbing of the dermal lesions revealed the presence of MPOX virus DNA by real-time PCR. The immunological tests were the following: negative fourth-generation ELISA and Western Blot for HIV, IgM antibodies to herpes simplex1=1.2 U/ml, IgM antibodies to herpes simplex2=1.9 U/ml, IgM antibodies to varicella zoster=0.5 S/CO and negative FTA-ABS (IgM) for syphilis. The intensity of skin lesions on the penis and the need to perform tests to rule out MPOX in prostitutes are highlighted, Se presenta el caso de un paciente varón de 28 años, heterosexual, con VIH negativo que desarrolló erupción cutánea intensa caracterizada por la presencia de vesículas, pústulas y pápulas umbilicadas confluentes en el pene y región púbica con escasa diseminación en el resto del cuerpo, sin adenopatía ni manifestaciones sistémicas, cuatro días después de haber tenido relaciones sexuales con una prostituta aparentemente sana. El hisopado de las lesiones dérmicas revelaron la presencia de ADN del virus MPOX por PCR en tiempo real. Las pruebas inmunológicas fueron las siguientes: ELISA cuarta generación para VIH y Western Blot negativas, anticuerpos IgM para herpes simplex1=1.2 U/ml, anticuerpos IgM para herpes simplex2=1.9 U/ml, anticuerpos IgM para varicela zóster=0.5 S/CO, FTA-ABS (IgM)=negativo. Se resalta la intensidad de las lesiones cutáneas en el pene y la necesidad de realizar pruebas para descarte de MPOX en prostitutas.

Context. Optical interferometry is at a key development stage. The Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) has established a stable, robust infrastructure for long-baseline interferometry that is usable by general astronomical observers. The present second-generation instruments offer a wide wavelength coverage and improved performance. Their sensitivity and measurement accuracy lead to data and images of high reliability. Aims. We have developed the Multi AperTure mid-Infrared SpectroScopic Experiment (MATISSE) to access, for the first time, high resolution imaging in a wide spectral domain. Many front-line topics are explored with this new equipment, including: stellar activity and mass loss; planet formation and evolution in the gas and dust disks around young stars; and environment interaction and accretion processes around super massive black holes in active galactic nuclei. Methods. The instrument is a spectro-interferometric imager in the transmission windows called L, M, and N, from 2.8 to 13.0 microns, combining four optical beams from the VLTI's unit or auxiliary telescopes. Its concept, related observing procedure, data reduction, and calibration approach, is the product of 30 years of instrumental research and has benefitted from the expertise developed in the frame of the VLTI's first generation instruments. The instrument utilises a multi-axial beam combination that delivers spectrally dispersed fringes. The signal provides the following quantities at several spectral resolutions: photometric flux, coherent fluxes, visibilities, closure phases, wavelength differential visibilities and phases, and aperture-synthesis imaging. Results. This article provides an overview of the physical principle of the instrument and its functionalities. The motivation of the choice of the instrumental concept and the characteristics of the delivered signal are detailed with a description of the observing modes and of their performance limit. Interfacial engineering has been investigated as a method of increasing thermal conductivity in a variety of aluminium/graphite composites but remains unexplored in the few graphite-containing aluminium foams developed to date. In this study, the replication method was used to fabricate aluminium/graphite composite foams by infiltrating with liquid aluminium packed preforms containing SiC-coated oriented graphite flakes and NaCl particles, the latter acting as a templating agent. The effects of interfacial modification caused by the SiC presence were investigated alongside those of NaCl and graphite flake particle sizes. Materials benefit from low pressure drops when large NaCl particles are used. Furthermore, large graphite flakes coated with SiC provide thermal conductivities up to 232 Wm-1K-1, improved mechanical properties and power dissipation capacities up to 2-fold and 6-fold higher than aluminium/graphite composite foams with unmodified interfaces and standard aluminium foams, respectively, making them ideal candidates for active heat sinks in next-generation electronic devices.

This article explores the debates related to the decolonialization of Memory Studies, through the ethnographic window of a collaborative project between Las Rastreadores de El Fuerte, a collective of families of missing persons in the Mexican state of Sinaloa and the Collective Sisters in the Shadows, an editorial and feminist writing project formed by current and former inmates. Through the analysis of a process of Memory Workshops and a collective book published by both organizations, the article reflects on the counter-hegemonic use of memory and testimony to destabilizes the discourses of power in relation to the extreme violence and the current human rights crisis in Mexico., En este artículo se abordan los debates en torno a la descolonización de los Estudios de Memoria, tomando como ventana etnográfica el proyecto colaborativo entre Las Rastreadoras de El Fuerte, una colectiva de familiares de personas desaparecidas en estado mexicano de Sinaloa, y la Colectiva Hermanas en la Sombra, un proyecto de editorial y de escritura feminista formado por mujeres en reclusión y excarceladas. A partir del proceso de talleres de memoria y el libro colectivo publicado por ambos colectivos se muestra el uso contrahegemónico de la memoria y el testimonio, para desestabilizar los discursos del poder en torno a las violencias extremas y la crisis de derechos humanos que se vive actualmente en México.

This article describes a fuzzy logic-based method optimized for the dome control of a robotic astronomical observatory. A Mamdani inference has been developed in order to make the decision to open or close the dome. The input variables are obtained from data received from a weather station besides the percentage of cloudy sky as derived by two allsky cameras.
