This study investigates the impact of psychological age climate on the motivation of aged workers in China and explores the mediating mechanisms at play. Two proposed chains of mediation capture the potential mechanisms underlying this process. The first chain involves the task and knowledge characteristics of work design, specifically autonomy arrangements and skill-based job demands, as mediators. The second chain focuses on the social and physical/contextual aspects of work design, including social support and ergonomic working conditions. The study sample consisted of 1,094 Chinese employees aged between 50 and 70 years (M = 55.66, SD = 4.274). Our findings reveal that a positive psychological age climate--organizational norms and practices that value and support older workers--significantly boosts their motivation to continue working. This enhancement in motivation is mediated by increased job autonomy and robust social support within the workplace, confirming that these elements are crucial for translating a positive age climate into tangible outcomes. Contrary to existing literature, our research does not support the mediating role of job design tailored to aged workers' skills and ergonomic working conditions. This indicates that in the cultural and organizational context of China, where collective values and respect for elder wisdom predominate, autonomy and social support directly influence workers' motivation more profoundly than ergonomic and job design considerations. The study underscores the importance of creating inclusive organizational cultures and implementing targeted support strategies to retain and engage aged workers effectively. It suggests that public policymakers and organizational leaders should focus on fostering positive psychological age climates and providing necessary autonomy and social resources to meet the unique needs of an aging workforce, thereby enhancing both individual and organizational outcomes in a globally aging society. Background: Large-scale sequencing plays important roles in revealing the genomic map of ccRCC and predicting prognosis and therapeutic response to targeted drugs. However, the relevant clinical data is still sparse in Chinese population. Methods: Fresh tumor specimens were collected from 66 Chinese ccRCC patients, then the genomic RNAs were subjected to whole transcriptome sequencing (WTS). We comprehensively analyzed the frequently mutated genes from our hospital's cohort as well as TCGA-KIRC cohort. Results: VHL gene is the most frequently mutated gene in ccRCC. In our cohort, BAP1 and PTEN are significantly associated with a higher tumor grade and DNM2 is significantly associated with a lower tumor grade. The mutant type (MT) groups of BAP1 or PTEN, BAP1 or SETD2, BAP1 or TP53, BAP1 or MTOR, BAP1 or FAT1 and BAP1 or AR had a significantly correlation with higher tumor grade in our cohort. Moreover, we identified HMCN1 was a hub mutant gene which was closely related to worse prognosis and may enhance anti-tumor immune responses. Conclusions: In this preliminary research, we comprehensively analyzed the frequently mutated genes in the Chinese population and TCGA database, which may bring new insights to the diagnosis and medical treatment of ccRCC. Aim Materials and Methods Results Conclusions To investigate the association between metabolically healthy obesity (MHO) and left ventricular geometric remodelling in Chinese children.This cross‐sectional study used data from two population‐based samples in China, including 2871 children aged 6–11 years. Weight status was defined based on body mass index according to the World Health Organization growth chart. Metabolic status was defined based on the 2018 consensus‐based criteria proposed by Damanhoury et al. Obes Rev 2018;19:1476–1491 (blood pressure, lipids and glucose). Left ventricular geometric remodelling was determined as concentric remodelling, eccentric hypertrophy, and concentric hypertrophy. Multinomial logistic regression analysis was used to determine odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the association between categories of weight and metabolic status and left ventricular geometric remodelling.Compared with children with metabolically healthy normal weight, those with MHO had higher odds of left ventricular geometric remodelling, with adjusted ORs (95% CIs) of 2.01 (1.23–3.28) for concentric remodelling, 6.36 (4.03–10.04) for eccentric hypertrophy, and 17.07 (7.97–36.58) for concentric hypertrophy. Corresponding ORs (95% CIs) were 2.35 (1.47–3.75), 10.85 (7.11–16.55), and 18.56 (8.63–39.94), respectively, for children with metabolically unhealthy obesity. In contrast, metabolically unhealthy normal weight was not associated with higher odds of left ventricular geometric remodelling. Findings were consistent in sensitivity analyses that used different definitions of weight and metabolic status and left ventricular geometric remodelling.Children with MHO had higher odds of left ventricular geometric remodelling than their metabolically healthy normal weight counterparts. Evidence regarding the role of dietary patterns in metabolic syndrome (MetS) is limited. The mechanistic links between dietary patterns, insulin resistance, and MetS are not fully understood. This study aimed to evaluate the associations between dietary patterns and the risk of MetS in a Chinese population using a longitudinal design. Data from the China Health and Nutrition Survey, a nationally representative survey, were analyzed. MetS cases were identified based on biomarker data collected in 2009. Factor analysis was employed to identify dietary patterns, while logistic regression models were utilized to examine the association between dietary patterns and MetS. Mediation models were applied to assess multiple mediation effects. Two dietary patterns were revealed by factor analysis. Participants in the higher quartiles of the traditional Chinese dietary pattern had lower odds of MetS than those in the lowest quartile (Q1) (OR = 0.58, 95%CI: 0.48, 0.69 for Q4; OR = 0.75, 95%CI: 0.63, 0.89 for Q3). Conversely, participants in the higher quartiles of the modern Chinese dietary pattern had higher odds of MetS compared to those in the lowest quartile (Q1) (OR = 1.40, 95%CI: 1.17, 1.68 for Q4; OR = 1.27, 95%CI: 1.06, 1.52 for Q3). Significant associations between dietary patterns and MetS were mediated by insulin resistance. Therefore, dietary patterns in Chinese adults are associated with MetS, and these associations appear to be mediated through insulin resistance. These findings underscore the critical role of dietary patterns in the development of MetS and establish a foundation for culturally tailored dietary interventions aimed at reducing rates the prevalence of MetS among Chinese adults. Exidavnemab is a monoclonal antibody (mAb) with a high affinity and selectivity for pathological aggregated forms of α‐synuclein and a low affinity for physiological monomers, which is in clinical development as a disease‐modifying treatment for patients with synucleinopathies such as Parkinson's disease. Safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, and exploratory biomarkers were assessed in two separate Phase 1 single ascending dose studies, including single intravenous (IV) (100 to 6000 mg) or subcutaneous (SC) (300 mg) administration of exidavnemab in healthy volunteers (HVs). Across the two studies, a total of 98 Western, Caucasian, Japanese, and Han Chinese HVs were enrolled, of which 95 completed the study. Exidavnemab was generally well tolerated. There were no serious adverse events or safety issues identified in laboratory analyses. Headache, asymptomatic COVID‐19, back pain, and post lumbar puncture syndrome were the most frequently reported treatment‐emergent adverse events. Following IV infusion, the pharmacokinetics of exidavnemab was approximately dose linear in the range 100‐6000 mg. The terminal half‐life was approximately 30 days, and the exposure was comparable across Western, Caucasian, Japanese, and Han Chinese volunteers. The absolute SC bioavailability was ∼71%. Cerebrospinal fluid exposure relative to serum after single dose was within the range expected for mAbs (approximately 0.2%). The anti‐drug antibody rates were low and there was no effect of immunogenicity on the pharmacokinetics or safety. Dose‐dependent reduction of free α‐synuclein in plasma was observed. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive inherited disease caused by variants of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulation (CFTR) gene. This report presents a case of a Chinese boy diagnosed with CF, attributed to the presence of two specific CFTR gene variations: 4056G > C (NM_000492.4) (p.Gln1352His, legacy: Q1352H) and c.1210-34TG[13]T[5] (NM_000492.4)(legacy: 5T; TG13). A ten-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital due to recurrent pneumonia, cough, and intermittent fever for seven years. Lung auscultation revealed rales, and a lung CT scan indicated parenchymal transformation with infection in both lungs. Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) identified two CFTR gene variants, Q1352H and 5T; TG13, which were significantly associated with clinical phenotype. Following a two-year course of azithromycin combined with inhalation therapy with budesonide, the patient experienced no further episodes of respiratory infections. Moreover, significant improvements were observed in pulmonary function, pulmonary infection, and bronchiectasis. The occurrence of combined variations, Q1352H and 5T; TG13, in the CFTR gene is rare and specific to Chinese populations. WES proves to be a valuable diagnostic tool for detecting CFTR gene variants. Objective: To test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Child-to-parent Violence Questionnaire (CPV-Q) in a group of Chinese adolescents. Methods: A total of 1138 adolescents (15.24 ± 1.17 years old) were tested with the Chinese version of CPV-Q, Parent-Adolescent Conflict Scale, and Adolescent Aggressive Behavior Scale of which 201 adolescents were retested 1 month later. The Chinese version of CPV-Q contains psychological, physical, financial, and control/domain factors with 14 items. Results: The four-factor model has good main fit indicators (father: χ2/df = 3.28, CFI = 0.96, RMSEA = 0.06; mother: χ2/df = 3.30, CFI = 0.96, RMSEA = 0.06); the scale has good criterion-related validity. The Cronbach's α coefficients of the Chinese version of CPV-Q were 0.89 (father) and 0.88 (mother), and the Cronbach's α coefficients of the four subscales were 0.81 ~ 0.84 (father) and 0.76 ~ 0.85 (mother). The test–retest reliability of the Chinese version of CPV-Q was 0.85 (father) and 0.83 (mother), and the test–retest reliability of the four subscales was 0.80 ~ 0.83 (father) and 0.75 ~ 0.84 (mother). Conclusion: Therefore, the CPV-Q has good reliability and validity for Chinese adolescents and can be used as an effective tool to evaluate Chinese adolescents' violence toward their parents. Mental energy is an important factor in many domains, including athletic performance. The athletic mental energy scale (AMES) is one of the established tools available to measure athletes' perceived mental energy state. To date, there is no validated questionnaire to assess athletic mental energy for Chinese adolescents. Therefore, purpose of this study was to validate a Chinese version of AMES (C-AMES) among the Chinese adolescents in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, China. We sampled 729 adolescents aged 14 to 18 in five middle schools in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, China to complete the revised C-AMES. Data were analyzed for factor structure validity by performing CFA. The results showed that the fit index was acceptable (RMSEA = 0.050, CFI = 0.962, TLI = 0.951), and a six-factor model containing 18 C-AMES items had good measurement properties for athletic mental energy. Methods Results Conclusion The study employed a retrospective survey of 458 older individuals with T2D residing in a Chinese community, conducted between June 2020 and May 2021, to develop a predictive model for frailty. Among the participants, 83 individuals (18.1%) were diagnosed with frailty using modified frailty phenotypic criteria. The predictors of frailty in this community‐dwelling older population with T2D were determined using least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression and multivariable logistic regression. These predictors were utilized to construct a nomogram. The discrimination, calibration, and medical usefulness of the prediction model were assessed through the C‐index, calibration plot, and decision curve analysis (DCA), respectively. Additionally, internal validation of the prediction model was conducted using bootstrapping validation.The developed nomogram for frailty prediction predominantly incorporated age, smoking status, regular exercise, depression, albumin (ALB) levels, sleep condition, HbA1c, and polypharmacy as significant predictors. Our prediction model demonstrated excellent discrimination and calibration, as evidenced by a C‐index of 0.768 (95% CI, 0.714–0.822) and strong calibration. Internal validation yielded a C‐index of 0.732, further confirming the reliability of the model. DCA indicated the utility of the nomogram in identifying frailty among the studied population.The development of a predictive model enables a valuable estimation of frailty among community‐dwelling older individuals with type 2 diabetes. This evidence‐based tool provides crucial guidance to community healthcare professionals in implementing timely preventive measures to mitigate the occurrence of frailty in high‐risk patients. This study utilized a combination of questionnaires and computational modeling to investigate age-related differences in moral judgments and the underlying cognitive mechanisms among the Chinese population. Study 1 employed the Oxford Utilitarianism Scale to investigate impartial beneficence and instrumental harm across different age groups. Results indicated that older adults scored significantly higher than younger adults on both dimensions even after controlling for level of education and gender. Study 2 utilized the CNI (consequences, norms, inaction) model to gain a more nuanced understanding of age differences in moral judgments. Findings indicated that older adults exhibited less sensitivity to moral norms when forming moral judgments. Money is often, but not always, considered an inappropriate gift. By considering recent insights in the social function of gratitude, we argue that the acceptability of money relies upon its capacity to evoke gratitude through conveying relational concerns. Study 1 (N = 240, US participants) revealed that monetary gifts are generally perceived as less acceptable and evoke less gratitude than non-monetary gifts of equivalent value. Furthermore, when monetary gifts were designated as specific gift coupons, they evoked more gratitude and were more acceptable. Study 2 (N = 471, Chinese participants) revealed that 520 RMB cash, symbolizing love in China, elicits increased gratitude and was therefore considered a favorable gift compared to similar amounts without such connotations. Taken together, we identify gratitude as the psychological mechanism underlying the acceptability of money and advocate for the recognition of monetary gifts with broader social, cultural, and psychological implications. Identifying high‐quality causal explanations is key to scientific understanding. This research (N = 202; 50% girls; Mage: 5.82 years; 64% Asian, 33% White, and 3% multiracial; data collected from 2018 to 2024) examined how explanation circularity and informants' social dominance impact children's learning preferences for causal explanations. Raised in a culture valuing circular logic, Chinese children still preferred non‐circular explanations and learning from informants providing non‐circular explanations (d ≥ 0.50). When informants with non‐circular explanations were subordinate to those with circular explanations, Chinese and American children preferred non‐circular over circular explanations (d = 1.10), but did not prefer learning new information from either informant. Although children weigh explanation quality over informant dominance when seeking explanations for given questions, they consider both cues when evaluating informants' credibility. Non-dipper blood pressure has been shown to affect cardiovascular outcomes and cognitive function in patients with hypertension. Although some studies have explored the influencing factors of non-dipper blood pressure, there is still relatively little research on constructing a prediction model. This study aimed to develop and validate a simple and practical nomogram prediction model and explore relevant elements that could affect the dipper blood pressure relationship in patients with hypertension. A convenient sampling method was used to select 356 inpatients with hypertension who visited the Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical College from January 2022 to September 2022. All patients were randomly assigned to the training cohort (75%, n = 267) and the validation cohort (25%, n = 89). Univariate and multivariate logistic regression were utilized to identify influencing factors. The nomogram was developed and evaluated based on the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, the area under the ROC curve (AUC), and decision curve analyses. The optimal cutoff values for the prevalence of dipper blood pressure were estimated. The nomogram was established using six variables, including age, sex, hemoglobin (Hb), estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), ejection fraction (EF), and heart rate. The AUC was 0.860 in the training cohort. The cutoff values for optimally predicting the prevalence of dipper blood pressure were 41.50 years, 151.00 g/L, 117.53 mL/min/1.73 m², 64.50%, and 75 beats per minute for age, Hb, eGFR, ejection fraction, and heart rate, respectively. Background: Both Internet addiction (IA) and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) are major public health concerns among adolescents, association between internet addiction and non-suicidal self-injury have been observed among adolescents. However, it is unclear how, and under what conditions, internet addiction relates to non-suicidal self-injury. According to our hypothesis, there is a positive relationship between IA and NSSI among Chinese adolescents, but this relationship is affected by the mediating role of loneliness and the moderating role of cognitive reappraisal. Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 1046 Chinese adolescents from 3 middle schools. Measurements: Adolescent Self-Harm Scale; Young's Internet Addiction Test (IAT); University of California at Los Angels (UCLA) Loneliness Scale; Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), They were asked to complete self-report questionnaires. Results: In our sample, the detection rate of NSSI was 12.3%. IA was positively associated with NSSI, and loneliness partially mediated the association between them. In addition, cognitive reappraisal moderated the first half path of the mediation model. Specifically, the higher the level of cognitive reappraisal, the weaker the positive effect of IA on NSSI through loneliness. Conclusion: Interventions targeted to reduce loneliness and increase cognitive reappraisal strategies may reduce the risk of NSSI in adolescents with Internet addiction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Congenital scoliosis and congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract are distinct genetic disorders with differing clinical manifestations. Clinically, their coexistence is not rare, but the etiologies of these complex diseases remain largely unknown, especially their shared genetic basis. Methods: We sequenced the genomes of 40 individuals diagnosed with both CS and CAKUT, alongside 2,764 controls from a Chinese Han population cohort. Our analyses encompassed gene-based and pathway-based weighted rare variant association tests, complemented by copy number variant association analyses, aiming to unravel the shared genomic etiology underlying these congenital conditions. Results: Gene-based analysis identified PTPN11 as a pivotal gene influencing both skeletal and urinary system development (P = 1.95E-21), participating in metabolic pathways, especially the MAPK/ERK pathway known to regulate skeletal and urinary system development. Pathway-based enrichment showed a significant signal in the MAPK/ERK pathway (P = 3E-04), reinforcing the potential role of PTPN11 and MAPK/ERK pathway in both conditions. Additionally, CNV analysis pinpointed IGFLR1 haploinsufficiency as a potential influential factor in the combined CS-CAKUT phenotypic spectrum. The onset age of anxiety is decreasing worldwide, yet the majority of the study conducted on anxiety were focused on adult populations. This study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of psychological capital and coping style tendency on the relationship between emotional intelligence and anxiety in Chinese adolescents and provide empirical evidence for research and prevention. A cross-sectional study recruited 5747 participants from 5 randomly selected middle schools in the northeast China. Study results showed that high emotional intelligence (P < 0.05), high level of psychological capital (P < 0.05), and positive coping style tendency (P < 0.05) were correlated to lower level of anxiety symptoms in adolescents. Psychological capital and coping style tendency performed partial and serial mediating effect on the relationship between emotional intelligence and anxiety. Teaching adolescents how to regulate emotions can strengthens their positive mentalities, promotes the use of positive coping strategies, and then attenuates the severity of anxiety symptoms in a nonadditive manner. When the notion of "finance" reentered ordinary Chinese people's lives since the "Reform and Opening Up," how were "finance and economics" (caijing) perceived and felt? This essay focuses on the mainland critics' reviews of the "finance-themed" novels by the Hong Kong entrepreneur-cum-writer Leung Fung Yee (b. 1949) and discusses how "Leung fever" (1992 – 93) provided a medium for a collective imagination of the financial age. Leung's fiction introduced "sensuous and lively" financial knowledge particularly attractive to a financially uneducated mainland readership who nonetheless desired to engage in adventurous economic activities. This essay is situated in the intersection of finance and literary practice and highlights the ways these critics' interpretations of Leung's novels helped instruct readers in how to feel, experience, and survive the financial age and legitimize the new economic behaviors in everyday life. This new age was first and foremost experienced as an "erotic-speculative sensation" in which an erotic adventure was experienced similar to the financial behavior of speculation. The mainland critics envisioned the figure of "the neoliberal labor heroine," one who creatively utilizes the intervals to maximize productive value and who performs "presentist worldly wisdom" to strategically navigate life and achieve optimal outputs and success in a disorienting world. Loneliness is an important risk factor for problematic smartphone use (PSU) among adolescents and the mechanisms underlying this correlation remain unclear. In this study, a moderated serial mediation model was tested by administering the Problematic Smartphone Use Scale for Chinese Adolescents, the Loneliness Scale (LS), the Upward Social Comparison Scale, the Fear of Missing Out Scale, and the Self‐Identity Scale to 466 Chinese adolescents. The results showed that: (1) loneliness was positively correlated with PSU, (2) upward social comparison (USC) and fear of missing out served as sequential mediating factors in the correlation between loneliness and PSU, and (3) self‐identity played a moderating role between USC and fear of missing out. These findings shed new light on developing strategies to prevent and intervene in adolescents' PSU by revealing the underlying mechanisms between loneliness and PSU. This study examined the relationships between paternal co‐parenting dimensions (including integrity, consistency, conflict, and bias) and adolescent cyberbullying perpetration, delving into potential moderating mechanisms. A sample of 795 Chinese adolescents (Mage = 14.79 years, SD = 1.67) completed questionnaires assessing parental co‐parenting, cyberbullying perpetration, and psychological entitlement. Results showed a positive association only between paternal co‐parenting bias and cyberbullying perpetration. The study identified a moderating role of psychological entitlement, indicating a stronger link between paternal co‐parenting bias and cyberbullying perpetration for adolescents with higher psychological entitlement than for those with lower psychological entitlement. Notably, the significant association between paternal co‐parenting bias and cyberbullying perpetration only existed among boys. The study provides new insights into the roles of paternal co‐parenting and adolescent psychological entitlement in cyberbullying perpetration among adolescent boys, emphasizing the importance of mitigating paternal co‐parenting bias and reducing adolescent psychological entitlement to prevent cyberbullying perpetration. These variants of the RH genes can lead to absence or weak expression of antigens.Analysis of RHCE genotyping by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR‐SSP) method specific to detect c.48G, c.48C, 109 bp insertion of IVS2, c.201A and c.307C and RhCE phenotyping, were conducted in 316 Chinese patients in previous study. One patient with discrepancy typing result was collected for further RhCE serologic typing using microcolumn gel method and tube method in saline using monoclonal antibodies. PacBio sequencing was performed for RHCE, RHD and RHAG complete sequence analysis. 3D molecular models of the protein with the wild‐type and mutant residue were generated using the DynaMut web server. The effect of the mutation on the protein function was predicted by PolyPhen‐2 software.One male patient of Chinese Han was detected with RHCE*C allele showed by PCR‐SSP method but ccEE phenotype. Further PacBio sequencing identified one normal RHCE*cE allele and one RHCE*Ce allele carried a novel c.829G > A (p.Gly277Arg) variant, which the encoded amino acid located in the ninth transmembrane segment of RhCE protein. Crystallisation analysis of 3D molecular models revealed that the substitution at Arg277 leads to the formation of additional hydrogen bonds, including weak hydrogen bonds between multiple atoms. It also results in hydrophobic ion interactions between Arg277 and Ala244. Introduction: Ixekizumab, an interleukin 17A (IL-17A) inhibitor, has demonstrated rapid and sustained improvement in the signs and symptoms in patients with active radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (r-axSpA) in global and Chinese populations. We studied the effect of ixekizumab on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) (including patient global, spinal pain, stiffness, and fatigue) and overall health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of ixekizumab in the phase 3 study in China. Methods: In this Chinese phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, patients with r-axSpA were randomized (1:1) to receive ixekizumab 80 mg every 4 weeks (IXEQ4W; starting dose 160 mg) or placebo for 16 weeks. At week 16, patients receiving placebo were switched to IXEQ4W, and those receiving IXEQ4W continued, until week 52. Data for patient global, spinal pain, spinal pain at night, stiffness, and fatigue were collected through week 52. Minimally clinical important differences (MCIDs) were determined for spinal pain and spinal pain at night. The subgroup analyses by baseline disease duration since diagnosis and baseline C-reactive protein (CRP) level were conducted post hoc. Results: Compared with placebo, patients treated with IXEQ4W reported significantly greater improvement with a rapid onset in changes from baseline of PROs (patient global, spinal pain, spinal pain at night, stiffness, and fatigue) through week 16. Improvements were maintained through week 52. A similar trend of improvement was also observed in MCID response in spinal pain and spinal pain at night. The improvement in overall HRQoL was supported by EQ-5D-5L assessment. Subgroup analyses demonstrated that IXEQ4W provided significantly greater efficacy at week 16 compared with placebo, irrespective of baseline disease duration or baseline CRP level. Conclusion: IXEQ4W provided rapid and sustained improvement in clinically relevant PROs and overall HRQoL through 1-year treatment in Chinese patients with r-axSpA. Language shapes diverse cultures and creates natural barriers between human societies. The landscape of nonprofit and philanthropic studies in non-English languages is barely charted, impeding the globalization of this research field. This project (a) describes the topics shared between English and Chinese scholarship on nonprofits and philanthropy and (b) explores why English scholarship is cited in Chinese journal articles from five aspects: rationale of scholarship, novelty, relevance, social network, and reputation. The English articles cited by Chinese scholars tend to: (a) focus on instrumentality but not expressive values, (b) develop rather than disrupt existing paradigms, and (c) be relevant to topics popular in Chinese literature and have authors with Chinese scholarly connections. In general, Chinese scholars tend to cite English articles that are value-neutral, non-disruptive, and native. This study aims to explore tooth growth variation by regions and ethnicity in China, and to validate the modified Tibetan so as to assist in proposing a better approach. A total of 1320 orthopantomograms of Han children aged 4–14.99 were retrospectively collected from eastern and western regions of China. The Demirjian method and modified Tibetan method were applied. Results showed that dental maturity scores (DMS) in eastern children were significantly greater than western children. Age was overestimated by both methods in eastern children. MAE was 0.88 and 1.3 years by Demirjian method, 1.01 and 1.21 years by modified Tibetan method in eastern girls and boys respectively. In western children, age was significantly underestimated in girls and slightly overestimated by Demirjian method; by modified method, age was generally overestimated. MAE was 0.79 and 0.84 years by Demirjian method, 0.51 and 0.69 years by modified Tibetan method in girls and boys respectively. The current study reveals that tooth growth was significantly advanced in Eastern Han children compared with Western Han children. Ethnic variation between Eastern Han and Tibetan Chinese was substantial. Neither method was sufficiently accurate in Eastern Han children. Objective: This study sought to validate the Rossi nomogram in a Chinese population and then to include the Bishop score to see if it has an effect on the accuracy of the nomogram. Materials and methods: The Rossi predictive model was applied and externally validated in a retrospective cohort from August 2017 and July 2023 in a Chinese tertiary-level medical center. For the revision and updating of the models, the regression coefficients of all the predictors (except race) were re-estimated and then the cervical Bishop score at the time of induction was added. Each model's performance was measured using the receiver-operating characteristic and calibration plots. Decision curve analysis determined the range of the probability threshold for each prediction model that would be of clinical value. Results: A total of 721 women met the inclusion criteria, of whom 183 (25.4%) underwent a cesarean delivery. The calibration demonstrated the underestimation of the original model, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.789 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.753–0.825, p < 0.001). After recalibrating the original model, the discriminative performance was improved from 0.789 to 0.803. Moreover, the discriminatory power of the updated model was further improved when the Bishop score at the time of induction was added to the recalibrated multivariable model. Indeed, the updated model demonstrated good calibration and discriminatory power, with an AUC of 0.811. The decision curve analysis indicated that all the models (original, recalibrated, and updated) provided higher net benefits of between 0 and 60% of the probability threshold, which indicates the benefits of using the models to make decisions concerning patients who fall within the identified range of the probability threshold. The net benefits of the updated model were higher than those of the original model and the recalibrated model. Conclusion: The nomogram used to predict cesarean delivery following induction developed by Rossi et al. has been validated in a Chinese population in this study. More specifically, adaptation to a Chinese population by excluding ethnicity and including the Bishop score prior to induction gave rise to better performance. Background: Despite advances in treatments for gastric cancer (GC), new targets are needed to enhance treatment, especially when mesenchymal‐epithelial transition (MET) amplification is involved. Therefore, we investigated the genomic features of MET‐amplified GC and efficacy of anti‐MET therapy. Methods: Genomic features were investigated in 2284 patients (cohort 1) and 438 patients in the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA cohort). RNA data were obtained from TCGA for expression analysis. Clinical responses of 71 patients (cohort 2) were investigated. Survival rates were compared by Kaplan–Meier and log‐rank tests. Results: In cohort 1, 95 (4.2%) exhibited MET amplifications. In TCGA cohort, 15 (3.4%) exhibited MET amplifications. The five top mutated genes were TP53, CDH1, ARID1A, KMT2D and PIK3CA in cohort 1 and TTN, TP53, MUC16, LRP1B and SYNE1 in TCGA cohort. TP53, PIK3CA, KRAS and GNAS showed significant single nucleotide variants (SNVs) in cohort 1, and TP53 SNVs were significant in TCGA cohort. Fifteen and 18 genes showed significant copy number variations (CNVs) between the MET‐ and non‐MET‐amplified groups in cohort 1 and TCGA cohort, respectively. The PI3K pathway was significantly activated in Chinese patients with MET‐amplified GC (p = 0.002). TP53 expression is negatively associated with MET amplification. Real‐world data obtained with cohort 2 revealed that anti‐MET treatment significantly affected overall survival (OS) (p = 0.002), whereas CNVs did not affect progression‐free or OS even when treatment lines were considered. Background Methods Results Conclusions Penile size is a topic of significant interest among men and healthcare professionals. However, data on adult male penile dimensions in China are scarce, hindering clinical counseling and research. This study aimed to establish normative data for Chinese penile size and compare it with a global reference population.We conducted a meta‐analysis of published studies on penile size, focusing on Chinese and international data. Studies from East and Southeast Asia were excluded to minimize regional confounding factors. The analysis included 23 Chinese studies encompassing 34,060 men aged 16–57 years, and 19 international studies encompassing 15,216 men aged 16–91 years. Penile length and circumference were assessed in both flaccid and erect states.This study established the first nomogram and percentile distribution chart for adult male penile size in China. The mean flaccid length was 7.42 cm (standard deviation [SD] ± 0.95 cm), and the mean flaccid circumference was 8.54 cm (SD ± 0.62 cm). The mean erect length was 12.42 cm (SD ± 1.63 cm), and the mean erect circumference was 10.75 cm (SD ± 1.34 cm). Compared with the global reference population (flaccid length: 9.09 cm ± 1.51 cm, flaccid circumference: 9.12 cm ± 0.93 cm; p < 0.05 for both), Chinese men exhibited statistically significant shorter flaccid lengths and circumferences. No significant differences were observed in erect length or circumference between Chinese men and the global reference population (p > 0.05 for both). Notably, the growth coefficient during erection (defined as the percentage increase from flaccid length to erect length) was significantly higher in Chinese men (67.39%) compared with the global average (43.45%; p < 0.05), supporting the hypothesis of a proportionally greater increase in shorter penises.This study provides novel and comprehensive data on penile size in Chinese men. Compared with a global reference population, Chinese men exhibited shorter flaccid penises but a higher proportional increase upon erection. These findings may be of value for clinical counseling and future research on penile size variations. Family environment, emotion regulation and biological sensitivity have been shown to be associated with adolescents' externalizing problem behaviours. However, findings regarding respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) reactivity are mixed and sometimes contradictory. This study aims to clarify the roles of RSA reactivity and anger regulation in the relationship between negative family expressiveness (NFE) and adolescents' externalizing behaviour by measuring RSA reactivity during the Parent–Adolescent Interaction Task (PAIT), designed to simulate a naturalistic negative family environment. In this study, 125 Chinese adolescents (M = 13.95 years, SD = 0.95; 48% male) completed questionnaires assessing negative family expressiveness, anger regulation and externalizing problems. Additionally, we collected electrocardiogram and respiration data during both the resting period and a 10‐min PAIT. Results showed that anger regulation mediated the relationship between NFE and externalizing problem behaviours. Moreover, adolescents' RSA reactivity moderated this mediation effect, even after controlling for baseline RSA. Greater RSA suppression potentially indicated greater susceptibility, with the relationship between NFE and anger regulation being more pronounced in adolescents with greater RSA suppression compared to those with lesser RSA suppression. These findings highlight the importance of considering physiological systems, especially within the context of adverse family environments, when studying the relationships with externalizing problems. Drawing on conservation of resources theory, this study aims to explore the mediating role of employees' strengths use and the moderating role of employees' ambitions in the relationship between empowering leadership and employees' taking charge behaviors. A total of 333 Chinese employees from various organizations across China (including industries such as manufacturing, IT, and education) completed our survey at two time points, with a two-week lag. We used structural equation modeling and moderated mediation path analysis to test our hypotheses. The research revealed that strengths use partially mediated the relationship between empowering leadership and employees' taking charge behaviors, and ambition positively moderated the relationship between empowering leadership and strengths use, as well as the indirect relationship between empowering leadership and employees' taking charge behaviors through strengths use. It extends the application field of strengths use, providing a new theoretical perspective on behavioral mechanisms for understanding the empowering leadership–employees' taking charge behaviors relationship, and offers valuable strategies for organizations and leaders to promote employees' taking charge behaviors more effectively. Help‐seeking is a common strategy for children to cope with daily stress. However, little is known as to how children make help‐seeking expectations during early development. The current study examined the effects of situational stress levels and help‐seekers' competence on children's expectations of help‐seeking behavior and willingness from age 4 to 6. We manipulated situational stress levels and help‐seekers' competence in a social expectation task. Children were tested to determine their expectations of help‐seeking behavior and willingness. Two hundred and twenty‐one Han Chinese children aged 4–6 from a city in East China participated in this study. We found that 5‐ to 6‐year‐olds expected the incompetent help‐seekers to seek support more than the competent help‐seekers regardless of situational stress levels. However, 4‐ to 5‐year‐olds made expectations as such only in the low‐stress condition. These results suggest that both situational stress levels and help‐seekers' competence influence 4‐ to 6‐year‐old children's help‐seeking expectations, and the influence varies across ages. Summary: Studies on asparaginase enzyme activity (AEA) monitoring in Chinese patients receiving PEG‐asparaginase remain limited. We monitored AEA in paediatric patients diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) and treated according to the Chinese Children's Cancer Group study protocols, CCCG‐ALL‐2015/CCCG‐ALL‐2020 protocols. We measured the AEA at days 7 ± 1 and 14 ± 1 and analysed their association with patient characteristics and PEG‐asparaginase‐related adverse effects (AEs). We measured 2147 samples from 329 patients. Mean AEA levels (interquartile range) were 931 iu/L (654–1174 iu/L) at day 7 ± 1 and 664 iu/L (463–860 iu/L) at day 14 ± 1. The AEA levels were higher in younger children and increased with the cumulative dose numbers. PEG‐asparaginase inactivation rate was 19.1%, and the silent inactivation (SI) rate was 12.5%. Nine patients were identified with allergic‐like reactions. Hypofibrinogenaemia, hypertriglyceridaemia, pancreatitis and thrombosis were associated with older age, whereas hypoglycaemia was associated with younger age. The risk of hypertriglyceridaemia and hypoglycaemia increased with cumulative dose numbers of PEG‐asparaginase. Except for hypofibrinogenaemia, elevated AEA levels did not increase the risk of PEG‐asparaginase‐related AEs. Drug monitoring can be utilized as guidance for treatment decision‐making. Individualizing asparaginase doses do not reduce toxicities. The treatment target of PEG‐asparaginase remains to achieve sustained and adequate activity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the status of health-related quality of life in Chinese patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and to analyze factors associated with the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis international Society Health Index (ASAS-HI) in AS and its relationship with disease activity and psychological status. Methods: A cross-sectional study of 484 patients with AS attending 10 hospitals in China from March 2021 to September 2023 was recruited. The ASAS-HI assessed general health and functional status; the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21) assessed psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, and stress; and the Functional Assessment of Chronic illness Therapy-Fatigue Scale (FACIT-F) assessed patients' fatigue symptoms; the Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score-C-Reactive Protein (ASDAS-CRP), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI), and Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Measurement Index (BASMI) were used to assess patients' disease activity and functional impairment. The correlation between ASAS-HI and the ASDAS, poor psychological status, and fatigue symptoms was observed. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to explore the relevant influencing factors of ASAS-HI. Results: A total of 484 patients were included in this study of whom 162 were in poor health, 139 in moderate health, and 183 in good health. On univariate analysis, disease activity is an important factor affecting ASAS-HI. People with extremely high disease activity (ASDAS ≥ 3.5) had a 12 times elevated risk of having poor health status (OR = 12.53; P < 0.001). Other significant covariates included age ≥ 36 (OR = 1.58; P = 0.015), BMI ≥ 24 kg/m2 (OR = 2.93; P = 0.013), smoke (OR = 1.96; P = 0.002), BASFI (OR = 1.49; P < 0.001), BASMI (OR = 1.22; P < 0.001), fatigue (OR = 6.28; P < 0.001), and bad psychological conditions such as depression (OR = 10.86; P < 0.001), anxiety (OR = 3.88; P < 0.001), and stress (OR = 4.65; P < 0.001). The use of bMARDs is inversely associated with the appearance of adverse health status (OR = 0.54; P = 0.012). There was no significant relationship between HLA-B27 and sex. Multivariable logistic regression showed that higher disease activity (ASDAS ≥ 3.5) (OR = 5.14; P = 0.005), higher scores of BASMI (OR = 1.10; P = 0.009), self-reported depression (OR = 3.68; P = 0.007), and fatigue (OR = 2.76; P < 0.001) were factors associated with adverse health status. Conclusion: The health status of AS patients is related to age, BMI, smoking, disease activity, poor psychological status, and fatigue and is influenced by a combination of multiple factors such as emotional state, economic level, pain, and dysfunction. Therefore, clinicians should pay attention to the early assessment of ASAS-HI in order to improve the prognosis of the disease. Cathepsin G (CTSG) plays an important role in the regulation of immune processes. Accumulated studies show that CTSG is involved in the onset and development of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). As the genetic background of T1DM varies widely among populations, we aimed to study the relationship between genetic polymorphisms in CTSG and T1DM susceptibility in Chinese populations. A total of 141 patients with T1DM and 200 healthy controls were enrolled in the study. Serum CTSG expression was detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Genotyping of two selected single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (rs2236742 and rs2070697) of CTSG was performed using PCR and Sanger sequencing. CTSG expression in patients with T1DM was significantly higher than in the control group. Alleles C and T of CTSG SNP rs2236742 were increased in T1DM. No significant associations were found for the SNP rs2070697. Our results indicate that the CTSG rs2236742 allele (C/T) is associated with T1DM in Chinese children and may serve as a new biomarker for predicting T1DM susceptibility. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aims: To investigate the associations of conicity index (C‐index) and relative fat mass (RFM) with incident type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) among adults in China. Materials and Methods: A total of 10 813 participants aged over 18 years in Shenzhen Longhua district were enrolled in a follow‐up study conducted from 2018 to 2022. The participants were categorized based on quartiles (Q) of C‐index and RFM. The Cox proportional hazards model was performed to examine the relationships between C‐index, RFM and the risk of T2DM. Results: After adjusting for potential confounding factors, including age, sex, occupation, marital status, education level, smoking status, alcohol consumption, physical exercise, hypertension status, fasting blood glucose (FBG) and total cholesterol (TC), both C‐index and RFM showed positive and independent associations with risk of T2DM. The multivariable‐adjusted hazard ratios (95% confidence intervals) for T2DM risk in participants in C‐index Q3 and Q4 compared with those in C‐index Q1 were 1.50 (1.12, 2.02) and 1.73 (1.29, 2.30), and 1.94 (1.44, 2.63), 3.18 (1.79, 5.64), 4.91 (2.68, 9.00) for participants in RFM Q2, Q3 and Q4 compared with RFM Q1. These differences were statistically significant (all p < 0.05). Conclusion: C‐index and RFM are strongly associated with new‐onset T2DM and could be used to identify the risk of diabetes in large‐scale epidemiological studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: To evaluate sex differences in gastric emptying and the glycaemic response to a glucose drink and a high carbohydrate meal in type 2 diabetes (T2D). Methods: In cohort 1, 70 newly diagnosed, treatment‐naïve Chinese patients with T2D (44 men) recruited from a diabetes outpatient clinic ingested a 75‐g glucose drink containing 150 mg 13C‐acetate. In cohort 2, 101 Australian patients with T2D (67 male) recruited from the community, managed by diet and/or metformin monotherapy, ingested a semi‐solid mashed potato meal, labelled with 100 μl 13C‐octanoic acid. Breath samples were collected over 3 and 4 h, respectively, for assessment of gastric emptying, and venous blood was sampled for evaluation of glycaemia (with and without adjustment for each participant's estimated total blood volume). Results: Gastric emptying was slower in female than male subjects in both cohorts (both p <.01). Multiple linear regression analyses revealed that gastric emptying was independently associated with sex (both p <.05). Without adjustment for blood volume, the glycaemic responses to oral glucose and the mixed meal were greater in female subjects (both p <.001). However, after adjustment for blood volume, the glycaemic responses were greater in men (both p <.05). Conclusions: Gastric emptying is slower in women than men with T2D, associated with a reduced blood volume‐adjusted glycaemic response to oral glucose and a mixed meal in women. These observations highlight the sex difference in postprandial glucose handling, which is relevant to the personalized management of postprandial glycaemia in T2D. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: To evaluate gastric emptying (GE) and the glycaemic response to a 75‐g oral glucose load in newly diagnosed, treatment‐naïve Han Chinese with type 2 diabetes (T2D) before insulin pump therapy, after 4 weeks of insulin pump therapy, and 12–15 months after insulin pump therapy. Materials and Methods: Twenty participants with T2D (baseline glycated haemoglobin [± SD] 10.7% [± 1.2%] 93 [± 10] mmol/mol) ingested a 75‐g glucose drink containing 150 mg 13C‐acetate, to determine the gastric half‐emptying time, and underwent assessment of plasma glucose and serum insulin, C‐peptide and glucagon‐like peptide‐1 (GLP‐1) over 180 min before and after 4 weeks of insulin pump therapy (discontinued for 48 h before re‐assessment). Data were compared to those in 19 healthy participants matched for sex and age. After 12–15 months, GE was re‐measured in 14 of the T2D participants. Results: At baseline, participants with T2D exhibited substantially augmented fasting and post‐glucose glycaemia, diminished insulin secretion, and more rapid GE (p < 0.05 each), but comparable GLP‐1, compared to healthy participants. Following insulin pump therapy, insulin secretion increased, GLP‐1 secretion was attenuated, fasting and post‐glucose glycaemia were lower, and GE was slowed (p < 0.05 each). The slowing of GE in T2D participants was sustained over 12–15 months of follow‐up. Conclusions: In newly diagnosed Han Chinese with T2D, GE is often accelerated despite poor glycaemic control and is slowed by short‐term insulin pump therapy. Aims: Very few cohort studies are available about the relation between remnant cholesterol (RC) and diabetes. Based on a prospective cohort survey, this research aimed at investigating if high RC was related to a future diabetes risk in the Chinese population, as well as to compare the association between RC, high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL‐C), low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL‐C), total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), TG/HDL‐C, LDL‐C/HDL‐C, TC/HDL‐C, and non‐high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (non‐HDL‐C), and future diabetes risk. Materials and Methods: 6,700 baseline normoglycemic participants of the REACTION study's Beijing center were recruited in 2011–2012 and followed up in 2015. Multivariate Cox regression analyses were performed to explore the relationship of RC, HDL‐C, LDL‐C, TC, TG, LDL‐C/HDL‐C, TG/HDL‐C, TC/HDL‐C, and non‐HDL‐C and a future diabetes risk. Results: After potential confounders were adjusted for, only RC (HR 1.134, 95% CI 1.016–1.267, P = 0.025) was positively related to a future diabetes risk, and only HDL‐C (HR 0.728, 95% CI 0.578–0.918, P = 0.007) was negatively related to a future diabetes risk. The rest of the lipid parameters were not related to a future risk of diabetes. Sensitivity and stratification analyses revealed that the relation between RC and future diabetes risk was stable. RC and future diabetes risk were still positively correlated even when the HDL‐C was ≥1.04 mmol/L (HR 1.167, 95% CI 1.050–1.297, P = 0.004). Conclusions: It was RC, but not other lipid parameters, that was independently and positively related to a future risk of diabetes among the Chinese general population. Backgrounds: Frequent hospitalization and the costs of hospitalization are the main burdens in China for patients with acute pancreatitis. Most admitted patients have mild disease conditions that do not require hospitalization. Aims: Here, we compare some health and economic aspects of patients with mild acute pancreatitis who received nurse-led care at home visits against those who were hospitalized on follow-up. Methods: Patients discharged from the hospital after treatment for mild acute pancreatitis received (NC cohort, n = 104) or did not receive (HN cohort, n = 141) regular home visits by nurses for treatment and care. Patients were rehospitalized by caregivers with or without help of nurse. Results: Hospital readmission events occurred in both cohorts at a follow-up care time of 2 months. Compared with the time of discharge from the hospital, unwanted effects were higher in follow-up care in all patients (p < 0.001 for all). Patients in the NC cohort had less time to resolution of pain, less time to resumption of oral solid food intake, smaller number of patients with hospital readmissions, less average time of hospitalization, lower cost of care, and lower occurrence of unwanted effects than those of patients in the HN cohort during 2 months of follow-up care (p < 0.05 for all). Conclusions: Patients with mild acute pancreatitis who undergo treatment require nurse-led nontreatment intervention(s) for rehabilitation in follow-up. Nurse-led follow-up care at-home visits increase recovery, are beneficial and cost-effective, and decrease unwanted adverse effects in patients receiving treatment for mild acute pancreatitis. Background: The goal of the present study was to identify differences in retinal microvasculature between healthy Caucasians and healthy Asians in order to provide a better understanding of the variability between different ethnic groups. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 191 healthy Chinese and Caucasian participants were enrolled. They underwent optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) scans with Zeiss Cirrus HD-5000 Spectral-Domain with AngioPlex. Linear regression models were used to investigate the association of OCTA metrics with potential risk factors. Results: Whereas participants in both groups are comparable in age and sex, Chinese participants had a longer axial length, higher spherical equivalent, higher intraocular pressure (p < 0.001), and a significantly higher perfusion density of large vessels in the superficial capillary plexus (p < 0.001). Regarding the foveolar avascular area (FAZ), Chinese participants had a larger superficial FAZ, a wider superficial FAZ perimeter, and a more circular deep FAZ shape (p < 0.001). Conclusions: There are significant differences in the retinal vasculature between Caucasian and Asian eyes as measured using OCTA. This needs to be considered when developing normative databases. This study aimed to establish a population pharmacokinetic (PopPK) model using data from 2 clinical trials of zimberelimab, evaluate the pharmacokinetics (PKs) of zimberelimab, explore the feasibility of 360 mg once every 3 weeks (Q3W) and 480 mg once every 4 weeks (Q4W) as alternative dosage regimens, and analyze the exposure‐response relationship of the efficacy and safety of zimberelimab for advanced tumors. The PKs of zimberelimab were described using the 2‐compartment model with time‐dependent nonlinear elimination. The prediction‐corrected visual predictive check was used to evaluate the model's predictive value on blood drug concentrations. In total, 2165 PK observations from 321 participants were included. The PopPK model demonstrated a high level of concordance between the observed data and the predicted values, indicative of a robust fit to the PK data of zimberelimab. The PK variables were similar for the 240 mg once every 2 weeks, 360 mg Q3W, and 480 mg Q4W regimens. No covariates significantly affecting the PK variables in the final model were found. The exposure variables of zimberelimab have no obvious correlations with efficacy and safety, and 360 mg Q3W and 480 mg Q4W are worthy of further study. This study establishes a PopPK model and analyzes the exposure‐response relationship of zimberelimab, which helps to explore the potential for alternative dosing regimens and offers a foundation for optimizing therapeutic strategies for advanced cancer patients through simulation‐based methods. This study evaluated the bioequivalence of the newly developed dapoxetine hydrochloride tablet relative to the marketed reference product by comparing their pharmacokinetic profiles under fasted and fed conditions. A total of 60 healthy Chinese male subjects participated in a single‐center, 2‐period, 2‐sequence, randomized, open‐label, self‐crossover study with a washout period of 14 days, 30 in the fasted group and 30 in the fed group. Following a single 30‐mg oral dose of the test or reference dapoxetine formulation, blood samples were collected before dosing to 72 hours after dosing. Liquid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry was performed to measure plasma concentration of dapoxetine and determine pharmacokinetic parameters through noncompartmental analysis. The vital signs and adverse events were also monitored during the study. The 90% confidence intervals of the geometric mean ratios for maximum plasma concentration, area under the plasma concentration‐time curve from time 0 to the last concentration time, and area under the plasma concentration‐time curve from time 0 extrapolated to infinity of the 2 dapoxetine formulations completely fell within the regulatory criteria for bioequivalence of 80%‐125%. In addition, both dapoxetine hydrochloride formulations were generally well tolerated. For Caucasian women, the QCT (quantitative CT) lumbar spine (LS) bone mineral density (BMD) cutpoint value for classifying osteoporosis is 80 mg/ml. At the age of approximate 78 years, US Caucasian women QCT LS BMD population mean is 80 mg/ml, while that of Chinese women and Japanese women is around 50 mg/ml. Correlation analyses show, for Chinese women and Japanese women, QCT LS BMD of 45 mg/ml corresponds to the dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry cutpoint value for classifying osteoporosis. For Chinese and Japanese women, if QCT LS BMD 80 mg/ml is used as the threshold to classify osteoporosis, then the specificity of classifying subjects with vertebral fragility fracture into the osteoporotic group is low, whereas threshold of 45 mg/ml approximately achieve a similar separation for women with and without vertebral fragility fracture as the reports for Caucasian women. Moreover, by using 80mg/ml as the cutpoint value, LS QCT leads to excessively high prevalence of osteoporosis for Chinese women, with the discordance between hip dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and LS QCT measures far exceeding expectation. Considering the different bone properties and the much lower prevalence of fragility fractures in the East Asian women compared with Caucasians, we argue that the QCT cutpoint value for classifying osteoporosis among older East Asian women will be close to and no more than 50 mg/ml LS BMD. China's college entrance examination reforms necessitate a new view of adolescent career development along with suitable assessment instruments for career intervention with secondary school students. We conducted two studies to address this need. The first study examined the evidence for the validity and reliability of the Student Career Construction Inventory (SCCI). The results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) supported the four-factor structure of the SCCI. The findings suggest that the SCCI is an effective measure of career-construction behaviors among Chinese secondary school students. The second study evaluated the applicability of the career construction model of adaptation (CCMA). The model was empirically tested using the validated SCCI. The results of the serial mediation analysis confirmed that adaptive readiness indirectly influences adaptability resources, adapting responses, and adaptation results in the CCMA model. Interoception refers to the sensation and perception of internal bodily sensations, and may be related to depressive symptoms. Schemata concerning the body vary across different cultures and may influence interoception and symptom presentations of depression. This study explored the relationship between interoception, depressive symptoms, and schema of somatic focus in Chinese people with subsyndromal depression. Thirty‐nine individuals with subsyndromal depression (SD) and 40 healthy controls (HCs) were assessed at baseline and after 3 months. Participants completed the self‐report questionnaires for assessing interoceptive sensibility, somatic and psychological symptoms of depression, and somatization tendency. They also completed the heartbeat perception behavioral task for estimating interoceptive accuracy. The results showed that both the SD and the HC groups showed similar interoceptive accuracy, although the SD group showed heightened interoceptive sensibility. The discrepancy between interoceptive sensibility and interoceptive accuracy is termed the interoceptive trait prediction error (ITPE). The ITPE was positive in SD participants but was negative in HCs. In the entire sample, interoceptive sensibility and the ITPE were correlated with somatic symptoms rather than with psychological symptoms of depression. Interoceptive sensibility partially mediated the relationship between somatization tendency and somatic symptoms, after controlling for psychological symptoms of depression. These results remained stable after 3 months. The shortcomings of the present study were a lack of clinical interview to ascertain diagnosis and a short follow‐up duration. In conclusion, our study suggests that altered interoception occurs in subsyndromal depression. Interoception is related to somatic symptoms of depression. Emerging studies indicate that oxidative stress may contribute to deficit syndrome (DS) in patients with schizophrenia. Homocysteine (Hcy) is a well-known marker and mediator of oxidative stress that exhibits tight associations with schizophrenia. However, no previous studies have assessed the relationship of DS with Hcy. This study evaluated the prevalence, clinical characteristics, and association of DS with Hcy in 491 patients with schizophrenia. Plasma levels of Hcy and other metabolic parameters were measured. Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale and the proxy scale for deficit syndrome were employed to assess psychiatric symptoms and DS. The logistic regression model was conducted to assess independent factors associated with DS, and the Area Under the Curve (AUC) was used to assess the performance of our model. There was a high incidence of hyperhomocysteinemia (58.8%) and DS (24.4%). Plasma Hcy levels were significantly higher in patients with DS. Age, Hcy levels, and psychiatric symptoms were independently associated with DS. The combination of these variables perfectly differentiated DS and non-DS patients with an AUC value of 0.89. Our study suggests that elevated Hcy levels may be related to DS. Routine monitoring of Hcy is essential and may facilitate early detection of DS in patients with schizophrenia. Factors predicting HBsAg seroclearance after treatment cessation, irrespective of nucleos(t)ide analogue (NA) resumption, have important clinical implications. We evaluated predictors of long-term HBsAg seroclearance after entecavir cessation. This study followed-up Chinese patients with chronic hepatitis B from two previous studies of entecavir cessation. All patients were non-cirrhotic, HBeAg-negative, with undetectable HBV DNA (<20 IU/ml) at end-of-treatment (EOT). They were monitored closely for 48 weeks with regular HBV DNA, quantitative HBsAg (qHBsAg) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) measurements. Entecavir was resumed at HBV DNA >2,000 IU/ml, irrespective of ALT levels. After the initial 48 weeks, patients were assessed every 6 months, regardless of entecavir resumption, to monitor for HBsAg seroclearance. A total of 194 patients (63.4% male, mean age 49.9 years, on entecavir for a median of 47.2 months) were recruited; 94 (48.5%) and 158 (81.4%) patients had EOT qHBsAg <100 IU/ml and <1,000 IU/ml, respectively; 151 (77.8%) patients were eventually resumed on entecavir. After follow-up for a median of 70.7 (51.0-118.2) months, 28 (14.4%) patients had HBsAg seroclearance. qHBsAg levels at weeks 36 and 48 after EOT independently predicted HBsAg seroclearance (both p <0.01), whereas qHBsAg from EOT to week 24 only trended towards statistical significance. The ratio of ALT/qHBsAg at all time points from EOT to week 48 independently predicted HBsAg seroclearance (hazard ratios ranging from 1.003-1.028, all p <0.01) with excellent diagnostic performance (area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve 0.799-0.933, negative predictive value >90% at different time points), regardless of whether entecavir was resumed. The ALT/qHBsAg ratio after entecavir cessation predicts HBsAg seroclearance, even in patients who were resumed on treatment. Its use may mitigate the risk of severe hepatitis flares in patients managed by observation without treatment resumption. Current predictors of HBsAg seroclearance after finite nucleos(t)ide analogue (NA) therapy have suboptimal predictive value. We demonstrated that the ALT/qHBsAg ratio may be able to reflect the balance between host control and virological activity. The ALT/qHBsAg ratio at different time points from end-of-treatment till week 48 independently and accurately predicted HBsAg seroclearance in patients who have stopped entecavir. Adolescence involves a period of swift change, including the development of personality vulnerabilities (i.e., dependency and self-criticism) that act as transdiagnostic factors to psychopathology. Over the past several decades, numerous short revisions have condensed the Depressive Experiences Questionnaire (DEQ) into more efficient measures of personality vulnerability. Prior research has investigated the psychometric properties of the short DEQs in adult and clinical samples. However, there has been insufficient exploration within adolescents, who are in addition marked by fluctuating personality vulnerabilities. A representative large sample of adolescents and emerging adults in China aged 10 to 25 (N = 23,953) was administered five short DEQs, including the Revised DEQ (RevDEQ), Reconstructed DEQ (RecDEQ), Theoretical DEQ-21/12 (TDEQ-21/12) and adolescent DEQ (DEQ-A). The data was evaluated for internal consistency and criterion-related validity, while factor structure and measurement invariances across gender and age groups were analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). A subset of the original sample (N = 2874) was retested after six months and analyzed for test-retest reliability and cross-time invariance. CFA of the TDEQ-21/12 and RecDEQ supported the intended two-factor model. Good criterion-related validity, internal consistency and test-retest reliability for these three versions were found. Satisfying measurement invariances across gender, time, and age groups were established. The study's scope was confined to non-clinical adolescent populations within China, highlighting a gap in cross-cultural and clinical applicability. In Chinese adolescents, the co-occurrence of depressive symptoms and short sleep duration constitute a serious public health issue. This study investigates the association between depressive symptoms and sleep duration of Chinese adolescents on weekdays as well as weekends. A multistage random cluster selection was utilized to select 2660 adolescents in Taiyuan, China. The survey contents included demographic characteristics, sleep duration, and depressive symptoms. About 41.95 % of students reported depressive symptoms with an average sleep duration of 7.71 ± 0.90 h. After adjusting for covariates, depressive symptoms were found to be positively correlated with sleep duration <6 h (OR = 1.88, 95 % CI: 1.20, 2.95) and 6 ~ h (OR = 1.61, 95 % CI: 1.18, 2.20) on weekdays, and sleep duration <6 h (OR = 2.10, 95 % CI: 1.17, 3.79) and 6 ~ hours (OR = 1.74, 95 % CI: 1.16, 2.62) on weekends compared with a sleep duration of 8 ~ hours. Only on weekdays, sleep duration of 7 ~ hours was positively correlated with depressive symptoms (OR = 1.39, 95%CI: 1.05, 1.84). On weekends, it was not associated with depressive symptoms (OR = 1.06, 95%CI: 0.82, 1.39). In subgroup analyses, female students (OR = 2.88, 1.97, 1.50) and middle school students (OR = 3.50, 2.07, 1.50) were more likely to experience depressive symptoms on weekdays with a sleep duration of <6 h, 6 ~ hours and 7 ~ hours. Sleep duration and depressive symptoms were self-reported measures. The study highlights that short sleep duration (< 7 h) increases the risk of depressive symptoms among adolescents regardless of weekdays or weekends. Just on weekdays, the sleep duration of 7 ~ hours was a risk factor for depressive symptoms. Further, gender, grade, and the only-child played significant modification effects between depressive symptoms and sleep duration. Introduction: Adolescent suicidal ideation (SI) and non‐suicidal self‐injury (NSSI) are crucial public health issues, yet their co‐developmental trajectories during early adolescence and their associations with predictors and outcomes are unclear. This study aimed to (a) identify heterogeneous co‐developmental trajectories of SI and NSSI, (b) explore associations between transdiagnostic predictors and trajectories, and (c) assess suicide attempt risk across trajectories. Methods: Four hundred fifty‐three adolescents (Mage = 12.35 years, 48.3% boys) completed surveys at 6‐month intervals across 2 years. At Time 1 (Nov 2020), participants completed surveys encompassing SI, and NSSI, along with family, peer, and individual predictors. Subsequent surveys (Times 2–4) measured SI and NSSI, with suicide attempts queried at Time 4. Results: Parallel process latent class growth models revealed three co‐developmental groups (i.e., Stable low NSSI and SI; Moderate‐NSSI and high‐SI, parallel decreasing; High‐NSSI and moderate‐SI, parallel increasing). Multivariate logistic regression indicated that group membership was predicted by parental rejection, parental warmth, bullying victimization, depressive and anxiety symptoms, thwarted belongingness, and perceived burdensomeness. Adolescents in the "High‐NSSI and moderate‐SI, parallel increasing" group reported the highest suicide attempt frequency. Conclusion: These findings underscore subgroup distinctions and transdiagnostic predictors in comprehending SI and NSSI progression, emphasizing the necessity of dynamic monitoring and tailored interventions for distinct subgroup characteristics. The genomic landscape of esophageal squamous cell cancer (ESCC), as well as its impact on the regulation of immune microenvironment, is not well understood. Thus, tumor samples from 92 patients were collected from two centers and subjected to targeted-gene sequencing. We identified frequently mutated genes, including TP53, KMT2C, KMT2D, LRP1B, and FAT1. The most frequent mutation sites were ALOX12B (c.1565C > T), SLX4 (c.2786C > T), LRIG1 (c.746A > G), and SPEN (c.6915_6917del) (6.5%). Pathway analysis revealed dysregulation of cell cycle regulation, epigenetic regulation, PI3K/AKT signaling, and NOTCH signaling. A 17-mutated gene-related risk model was constructed using random survival forest analysis and showed significant prognostic value in both our cohort and the validation cohort. Based on the Estimation of Stromal and Immune cells in Malignant Tumor tissues using Expression (ESTIMATE) algorithm, the Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion (TIDE) algorithm, and the MCPcounter algorithm, we found that the risk score calculated by the risk model was significantly correlated with stimulatory immune checkpoints (TNFSF4, ITGB2, CXCL10, CXCL9, and BTN3A1; p < 0.05). Additionally, it was significantly associated with markers that are important in predicting response to immunotherapy (CD274, IFNG, and TAMM2; p < 0.05). Furthermore, the results of immunofluorescence double staining showed that patients with high risk scores had a significantly higher level of M2 macrophage than those with low risk scores (p < 0.05). In conclusion, our study provides insights into the genomic landscape of ESCC and highlights the prognostic value of a genomic mutation signature associated with the immune microenvironment in southern Chinese patients with ESCC.
