Inscrita en la tradición de la Historiografía marxista venezolana desarrollada a lo largo del pasado siglo XX, la obra de Federico Brito Figueroa (19212000) representa en buena medida una muestra de los aportes y, del mismo modo, de las carencias teóricometodológicas de una tradición que hasta ahora solo ha sido parcialmente atendida por la historia de la historiografía venezolana; así, el artículo constituye un esfuerzo por realizar una aproximación crítica a los fundamentos de la concepción de la historia y también de la filosofía de la historia presentes en la producción historiográfica del historiador, antropólogo y etnólogo aragüeño. Para su realización, se ha procedido a una revisión y análisis crítico de sus principales obras de carácter histórico producidas entre 1941 y 2000, análisis que se ha orientado a partir del esquema producido por Germán Carrera Damas en los años sesenta del siglo pasado para el estudio de la obra de conocidos historiadores venezolanos. El trabajo pretende mostrar cómo, tanto la concepción como la filosofía de la historia del reconocido maestro venezolano, oscilaron entre su condición de historiador profesional y su ferviente adhesión y militancia dentro del marxismo venezolano. Developed during the 20th Century and registered in the Venezuelan tradition of Marxist historiography, the work of Federico Brito Figueroa (1921-2000) represents some aspects of the contributions as well as the deficiencies present in a tradition that so far has only been partially studied by the history of Venezuelan historiography. Thus, this article intends to carry out a critical approach to the fundamentals and the philosophy of history manifested in the work of the historian, anthropologist and ethnologist from the state of Aragua. During the research, we revised and analyzed the main historical works produced by Brito from 1941 to 2000. We made use of Germán Carrera Damas´ famous scheme from the 1960´s to guide the research on the most known Venezuelan historians. A concepção de homem e de mundo que orienta esta investigação aponta para a complexidade da vida, entendendo o homem e a sociedade como emaranhados em uma rede de produções, intensidades de sentidos e afetações que configuram a existência. Compreendem-se os fenômenos como produção coletiva, produção de subjetividade, onde os padrões assumidos como normais são fruto de um complexo processo de reprodução de sujeitos e reinvenção da vida através da potência de criação. O trabalho configura-se como uma investigação qualitativa móvel, onde nos perguntávamos e perguntamos acerca de como a conversação, na formação de professores se efetiva como uma forma de resistência, de criação à subjetividade capitalística? Como as conversações da formação de professores se efetivavam e inventavam modos de existência inclusivos? Realizamos uma pesquisa-intervenção porque assume o plano da experiência enquanto intervenção. Tateamos, fabricamos dispositivos produtivos para fazer emergir desde o fazer, o saber. Realizamos uma cartografia das ações e criações de profissionais de uma escola pública de Ensino Fundamental de Educação de Jovens e Adultos que trabalha nos três turnos com pessoas oriundas das camadas populares e que tiveram negado o direito de estudar. Realizamos o acompanhamento do percurso formativo de um grupo de professores da escola-território no decorrer do ano de 2014. Todos os relatos e narrativas foram registrados no diário de campo e gravados digitalmente. O material produzido foi analisado a partir das orientações da análise do discurso proposto por Foucault, buscando escapar da frágil interpretação daquilo que estaria por trás dos documentos, pois entendemos que as produções são uma realização histórica, política. As análises dos discursos nos levaram a dois platôs, duas regiões, territórios intensivos: a) A formação descontinuada que dinamiza o processo de organização do trabalho docente e b) A prática inclusiva via produção de redes colaborativas que dinamizam a escolaterritório. Uma formação em tempos de desafios inclusivos demanda ser inventiva. Na experiência junto à escola-território vimos que quando uma formação se rege por análises da implicação, onde não há linearidade dos estudos e reflexões, já que a cada encontro se conversa sobre novas experiências vividas e problemas enfrentados, proliferam redes colaborativas, fundamentais para a superação do individualismo. Uma formação que opera pela resistência produzirá agenciamentos e conexões éticas/estéticas/políticas, possibilitando a produção de outros valores, diferentes dos da sociedade neoliberal, porque fortalece a coletivização da vida, criando redes sociais territoriais. O encontro das modalidades da Educação de Jovens e Adultos e da Educação Especial pela via da formação inventiva/descontinuada/ ética/estética/política se apresenta como um forte caminho e modo de produção de uma educação equitativa, por ser pública e popular.

A partir de una revisión de la relación histórica existente entre el marxismo como doctrina política y el realismo social como movimiento artístico, el artículo analiza las implicaciones de esa relación en el caso del artista venezolano César Rengifo; ese análisis es desarrollado a partir de la valoración de la obra pictórica “La recluta” de 1948, pintura a través de cuya evaluación, se pretende poner en evidencia el marcado compromiso político ideológico de la pintura de Rengifo y la utilización por parte de éste del arte como un vehículo para la denuncia social y para la difusión de sus ideas políticas de Izquierda. El lupus eritematoso sistémico pediátrico es una enfermedad autoinmunitaria crónica multisistémica con manifestaciones clínicas complejas. Presentación clínica de carácter cíclico. Los síntomas iniciales son inespecíficos. Afecta a múltiples órganos con síntomas específicos según su localización. Su manifestación cutánea puede presentarse junto con la manifestación sistémica o no. Es el gran imitador que puede simular otras enfermedades. La naturaleza heterogénea del lupus hace que sea un reto médico diagnóstico. Debido a que no existe un síntoma o hallazgo exclusivo para hacer el diagnóstico de la enfermedad, la American College of Rheumatology ha establecido unos criterios para su evaluación ante la sospecha de lupus. Su tratamiento depende de las manifestaciones clínicas, de la presencia/ausencia de afectación de órganos vitales y su abordaje debe ser multidisciplinar. Su supervivencia ha mejorado en la última década gracias a su diagnóstico y tratamiento precoz. Sin embargo, su pronóstico continúa siendo grave. Presentamos el caso clínico de una niña de diez años, diagnosticada de esta enfermedad. Pediatric Systemic lupus erythematosus is a multisystem chronic autoimmune disease with complex clinical manifestations. The clinical presentation has a cyclic nature. The initial symptoms are nonspecific. It affects multiple organs with specific symptoms depending on their location. Its skin manifestation may or may not occur with systemic manifestation. It is the great mimic that can simulate other diseases. The heterogeneous nature of lupus makes it a diagnosis medical challenge. Since there is not an only symptom or finding leading to the diagnosis of the disease, the American College of Rheumatology has established some criteria for the evaluation of suspicion of lupus. Treatment depends on the clinical manifestations, on the presence/absence of vital organs affectation and its approach must be multidisciplinary. The survival has improved in the last decade due to its early diagnosis and treatment. However, his prognosis continues to be serious. We present the clinical case of a 10 year old diagnosed girl with this condition.

Endocarps in fragments from olive fruits (EF) have a high content of xylans and could be a potential material for production to D¬xylose by hydrolysis with inorganic acids. Hydrolysis of EF by diluted sulphuric acid at high temperature was researched in this study. Firstly, the effects of two operational conditions, including reaction temperature (180–220ºC) and time (2–8 min), on monosaccharides yields were examined using a 22 factorial design. An acid concentration of 0.01 M and a solid/liquid ratio of 1/6 were set. D¬xylose was the major sugar in the hydrolysates, with a maximum yield above 0.20 kg kg–1EF that was achieved at 201ºC reaction temperature for 5.2 min. Under those conditions the low content of L¬arabinose, D-galactose, and D¬glucose (< 0.01 kg monosaccharide –1 –1–1 kgEF), and of the fermentation inhibitors (< 0.001 kg HMF kgEF; < 0.033 kg acetic acid kgEF) provided an interesting subtract for its biochemical conversion to xylitol or ethanol. Finally, a new factorial design was developed, with the optimal condition derived from the first experimental series, to study the effect of acid concentration (0.01–0.03 M) and solids loading (50–150 g) on sugars production. Although the maximum D¬xylose yield decreased with the increase of solid/liquid ratio, the conditions that release more pentoses at high solids loading were determined. Thus, it was possible to obtain direct hydrolysates with D¬xylose concentrations close to 85 g dm–3. This research demonstrates that the response surface methodology (RSM) can be employed for optimising the D¬xylose production by acid hydrolysis of olive stone, and that the raw material is a rich source of pentoses., Proceedings of the 20th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition, 18-22 June 2012, Milan, Italy, pp. 1692-1696

The synthesis of a series of functionalized 1-Benzyl-3-[4-Aryl-1-piperazingl]carbonyl-1H-Indoles 6(a-f), as a potential new class of bioactive ligands at D4 receptors is reported. The synthetic strategy took place through a five steps sequence to provide indole amides 6(a-f) in 75-92% yield.

The first synthesis of substituted indoles was conducted by Fischer and Jourdan as early as 1883, and since then the bicyclic heteroaromatic core has been the target of many synthetic approaches and reactivity studies. 4-7 Indoles are also prominent structural elements in the neurotransmitter serotonin, the antiinflammatory drug indomethacin and other molecules showing promise in the treatment of cardiovascular disease, erectile dysfunction, cancer and neurological conditions such as the Alzheimer’s disease

El artículo presentado intenta justificar mediante la realización de un ejercicio de análisis, las infinitas posibilidades ofrecidas al historiador por la literatura como fuente para la comprensión del pasado. Así, el trabajo se centra en la revisión y desmontaje de unos pocos versos realistas, en su mayoría anónimos, referidos a la época de nuestra revolución de Independencia, en los que se trata de mostrar cómo, pese al cambio de mentalidad que experimentaron las élites que protagonizaron los sucesos que condujeron a la creación de una Venezuela Independiente, es posible observar en buena parte de esas élites la permanencia de muchos rasgos que remiten a identidades culturales e incluso políticas tradicionales, de marcada raigambre hispánica. The presented article attempts to justify by conducting an analysis exercise, the endless possibilities offered for the historian of literature as a source for understanding the past. Thus, the study focuses on the review and removal of a few realistic verses, mostly anonymous, referring to the time of our War of Independence, in which it tries to be showed how, despite the change of mind experienced by the elites who staged the events that led to the creation of an independent Venezuela, it is possible to observe in most of these elites the presence of many features that refer to cultural identities and even traditional policies, and strong Hispanic roots. 321-344 rafaelcuevasm@yahoo.es semestral

During this research the conversion of olive stones to ethanol was examined. Olive stones in fragments were pretreated at high temperatures by using four different solutions: liquid hot water (LHW), ethanol and water (E&LHW), diluted sulphuric acid (DA) and, finally, ethanol and diluted sulphuric acid (E&DA). LHW and DA pretreatments produced an important depolymerisation of hemicelluloses, but in the pretreated solids remained a considerable quantity of insoluble lignin. When ethanol was present in pretreatments (organosolv process: E&LHW and E&DA), the cellulose content significantly increased in the pre-treated solids. After pretreatments, the solids were subjected to Simultaneous Saccharification and Fermentation (SSF) using a commercial cellulase-.-glucosidase mixture and the thermal acclimated yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae IR2T9. Under the best conditions, the ethanol concentration reached 51.8 . 1.1 kg/m3, the ethanol yield was 13.5 . 0.3 kg per 100 kg OS and a percentage of ethanol (in relation to the theoretical maximum quantity of ethanol from the cellulose of the pretreated solid) close to 100% was obtained., Proceedings of the 19th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition, 6-10 June 2011, Berlin, Germany, pp. 1764-1768
