A growing practice of engaging students as partners (SaP) has been conducted to nurture values-based pedagogical relationships. Yet, SaP is contested with little known about how Chinese students understand their relationships with teachers in a sector shifting toward student-centred approaches. To advance the collective understanding of SaP practices in China, we interviewed 30 postgraduate students who reflected on their learner-teacher relationships as undergraduate and postgraduate students while considering the possibilities of SaP practices. While some SaP practices emerged, students evoked the language of family to describe meaningful interactions with teachers. They raised pragmatic (large student numbers), epistemological (knowledge accumulation before knowledge construction), and cultural (hierarchical construct of power and authority) concerns about the possibilities of pedagogical partnerships. We argue that the willingness of university communities to raise questions about assumed learner-teacher hierarchy, power dynamics and identities will shape how student-centred and SaP practices unfold in Chinese universities. AIM: To investigate the mechanism and effect of trabecular tissue repair for corneal defect, and to provide a theoretical basis for its clinical application. METHODS: Trabeculectomy was performed on 40 (80 eyes) of 70 New Zealand white rabbits. Take trabecular tissue for backup. Thirty (30 eyes) corneal defect models were made, trabecular tissue was filled in the corneal defect, and the oblique cross stitch was used to suture the corneal laceration and debridement. Anterior segment image and optical coherence tomography (OCT) were performed at the time 1d, 1wk, 1 and 3mo after the model was made. After the observation, the cornea was taken and stained with trypanosome blue-alizarin red and the pathological tissue was examined. RESULTS: Observation 1wk after surgery, the area of corneal defect was edema, but the corneal curvature was basically normal, and the anterior chamber existed under slit lamp. After 3mo of observation, most corneal defects were repaired in the form of corneal leucoma and corneal macula (73.3%), the filled trabecular tissue gradually became transparent, fused tightly with the corneal tissue, and the corneal curvature was relatively smooth. But in one case, the trabecular planter was partially detached, no serious complications such as corneal laceration occurred after the stitches were removed. CONCLUSION: The trabecular tissue structure is similar to the corneal, and it can be used as a substitute for the corneal tissue defect by providing fiber scaffolds and cell amplification differentiation, and lay a foundation for the second-stage surgical treatment.

AIM: To observe the clinical effect of compound trabeculectomy and air filtration injection in the anterior chamber in the treatment of chronic primary angle closure glaucoma, and to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of air filtration injection in the treatment of chronic primary chronic angle closure glaucoma.METHODS: In a retrospective study, 129 patients(183 eyes)with chronic primary chronic angle closure glaucoma admitted to our hospital from September 2015 to June 2017 were divided into air injection group and control group. Patients in the air injection group(68 cases, 97 eyes)were treated with compound trabeculectomy and air filtration injection into the anterior chamber. Patients in the control group(61 cases, 86 eyes)were treated with compound trabeculectomy. The follow-up time was from 3 to 6mo with an average of 4.5mo.The visual acuity, intraocular pressure, bleb formation and complications were observed, and the unplanned reoperation, length of stay and total cost of stay were recorded. RESULTS: The incidence of shallow anterior chamber, malignant glaucoma and unplanned reoperation in the air injection group was lower than that in the control group, the days of hospitalization in the air injection group were shorter than that in the control group, and the cost of hospitalization in the air injection group was lower than that in the control group(PFgroup=42.394, PgroupFtime=7.373, PtimeFtime×group=23.903, Ptime×groupP<0.001)in intraocular pressure of 1, 3d and no significant difference(P>0.05)in 3, 7d between the two groups. There was no significant difference(P>0.05)in the flash of anterior chamber of 1, 3, 7d and 1mo between the two groups. There was no significant difference(P>0.05)in the changes of vision and the formation of filtering blebs between the two groups in 3mo(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:Combined trabeculectomy and air filtration in the anterior chamber for chronic primary angle closure glaucoma can reduce the incidence of shallow anterior chamber, malignant glaucoma and unplanned reoperation, not aggravate the inflammatory reaction in the anterior chamber, safely retain the residual visual function of patients, shorten the length of stay in hospital and the total cost of hospitalization, and have no effect on the formation of intraocular pressure, vision and filtering bleb obvious influence.

This paper describes the application of computational fluid dynamics rather than a towing tank test for the prediction of hydrodynamic derivatives using a RANS-based solver. Virtual captive model tests are conducted, including an oblique towing test and circular motion test for a bare model scale KVLCC2 hull, to obtain linear and nonlinear hydrodynamic derivatives in the 3rd-order MMG model. A static drift test is used in a convergence study to verify the numerical accuracy. The computed hydrodynamic forces and derivatives are compared with the available captive model test data, showing good agreement overall. Simulations of standard turning and zigzag manoeuvres are carried out with the computed hydrodynamic derivatives and are compared with available experimental data. The results show an acceptable level of prediction accuracy, indicating that the proposed method is capable of predicting manoeuvring motions.
