188. Functional Neural Alterations in Pathological Internet Use: A Meta-Analysis of Neuroimaging Studies

Abstract

Previous resting-state functional MRI (fMRI) studies found spontaneous neural activity in the brains of Pathological Internet Use (PIU) subjects. However, the findings were inconsistent in studies using different neuroimaging analyses. This meta-analytic study aimed to identify a common pattern of altered brain activity from different studies. Resting-state fMRI studies, based on whole-brain analysis methods published before July 1, 2021, were searched in multiple databases (PubMed, EMBASE, MEDLINE, and Web of Science). A voxel-based signed differential mapping (SDM) method was used to clarify brain regions, which showed anomalous activity in PIU subjects compared with healthy controls (HCs). Ten eligible publications consisting of 306 PIU subjects and 314 HCs were included in the SDM meta-analysis. Compared with HCs, subjects with PIU showed increased spontaneous neural functional activity in the left temporal pole of the superior temporal cortex, left amygdala, bilateral median cingulate cortex, and right insula. Meanwhile, a decreased spontaneous neural activity was identified in the left dorsolateral superior frontal gyrus and right middle frontal gyrus in the subjects with PIU. These abnormal brain regions are associated with cognitive executive control and emotional regulation. The consistent changes under different functional brain imaging indicators found in our study may provide important targets for the future diagnosis and intervention of PIU.Systematic Review Registration:www.crd.york.ac.uk/PROSPERO, identifier: CRD42021258119.

190. Adaptive Doppler‐smoothed‐code bilateral kernel regression method for single‐frequency BeiDou receiver.

Abstract

Currently, single‐frequency Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers dominate maritime navigation units due to their simple structure and low cost but usually cannot meet the positioning requirements of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship (MASS). Herein, a novel adaptive Doppler‐smoothed‐code Bilateral Kernel Regression (DBKR) method is proposed, which improves pseudorange accuracy in the range domain and then reconstructs observations in the position domain. In the range domain, the Doppler observable is utilised to smooth the pseudorange with an optimal window smoothing width for the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) receiver to alleviate ionosphere delay. In the position domain, we elaborate a bilateral kernel regression model to further reduce the positioning drift. The on‐line regression process starts with mapping the observation space to Euclidean space and subsequently fusing all observations of the same epoch using the Gaussian Radial Basis Function (RBF). Finally, the experiments under static and dynamic scenarios are carried out, which verify the validity and efficiency of the proposed DBKR method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

191. Magnetic enhanced high-efficiency electromagnetic wave absorbing MXene/Fe3O4 composite absorbers at 2–40 GHz.

Abstract

Electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorbing materials are widely used in the communication, aerospace, electronics, and military industries. In this work, MXene composites decorated with Fe3O4 nanoparticles on the surface (MF) have been prepared by a one-step method to improve the electromagnetic attenuation performance in the microwave and millimeter-wave frequency bands between 2 and 40 GHz. The interlayers of MXene are distributed with Fe3O4 nanoparticles with a size of 20–30 nm, forming a sandwich-like microstructure. The conductive network and the polarizing group have been adjusted by introducing magnetic metal oxides into the accordion-like MXene matrix and the molar ratio of MXene and Fe3O4. The minimum reflection loss (RLmin) can be up to −66.25 dB, and the maximum effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) can be up to 8.49 GHz by adjusting the thickness of the absorber. The synergistic effects and structural advantages of Fe3O4 (magnetic loss) and MXene (dielectric loss), as well as the multiple reflections because of the sandwich-like structure, make MXene/Fe3O4 composites show superior EMW absorption performance in microwave and millimeter wave frequency bands.
