171. Multitarget Respiration Monitoring Based on Cumulative Phase Gradient Approach.

Abstract

Simultaneous measurements of multitarget vital signs have been quite challenging for radar-based noncontact vital signs monitoring. This letter presents a novel cumulative phase gradient approach (CPGA) for accurate estimates of multitarget respirations without either range or beam discrimination in a single-input single-output (SISO) radar sensor. The signal model of multitarget respiration is first provided, and then a CPGA is developed to accurately estimate multitarget respirations from the observed mixtures by exploiting the underlying periodicity of the respiration waveforms. The proposed method provides average estimated error rates around 3% in the experiment with closely located three human targets within range resolution, and demonstrates its significant superiorities over other methods. Abstract

Background: This study aimed at exploring the correlation between T‐cadherin and programmed death‐ligand 1 (PD‐L1), as well as their prognostic value in patients with human papillomavirus (HPV)‐negative head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Methods: Immunohistochemical staining was used to identify the protein expression of T‐cadherin and PD‐L1. Spearman linear correlation analysis was used to determine their association. Kaplan–Meier analysis was utilized to plot overall survival (OS) and disease‐free survival (DFS) curves. Cox proportional hazards regression was used to conduct univariate and multivariate analysis. Results: The results showed a negative association between protein expression of T‐cadherin and PD‐L1 (r = −0.760, p < 0.001), positive expression of T‐cadherin was associated with a better OS (p < 0.001) and DFS (p < 0.001), while positive PD‐L1 expression was associated with a worse OS (p = 0.002) and DFS (p < 0.001). The expression of T‐cadherin and PD‐L1 were independent prognostic predictors for OS and DFS. Conclusions: In conclusion, expression of T‐cadherin and PD‐L1 were largely inversely correlated and independent prognostic factors for patients with HPV‐negative HNSCC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Ischemic stroke is defined as an infarction in the brain, caused by impaired cerebral blood supply, leading to local brain tissue ischemia, hypoxic necrosis, and corresponding neurological deficits. At present, revascularization strategies in patients with acute ischemic stroke include intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical endovascular treatment. However, due to the short treatment time window (<4.5 h) and method restrictions, clinical research is focused on new methods to treat ischemic stroke. Exosomes are nano-sized biovesicles produced in the endosomal compartment of most eukaryotic cells, containing DNA, complex RNA, and protein (30-150 nm). They are released into surrounding extracellular fluid upon fusion between multivesicular bodies and the plasma membrane. Exosomes have the characteristics of low immunogenicity, good innate stability, high transmission efficiency, and the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier, making them potential therapeutic modalities for the treatment of ischemic stroke. The seed sequence of miRNA secreted by exosomes is base-paired with complementary mRNA to improve the microenvironment of ischemic tissue, thereby regulating downstream signal transduction activities. With exosome research still in the theoretical and experimental stages, this review aims to shed light on the potential of exosomes derived from mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of ischemic stroke.

Abstract

This paper aims to prepare an adsorbent based on MXene material for adsorbing diclofenac sodium (DCF). In this paper, Ti3C2-MXene was prepared by etching Ti3AlC2 with hydrofluoric acid (HF). Ti3C2 was subjected to a convenient and simple solvothermal treatment. TiO2 and Ti2C were formed during the solvothermal process. According to the results of FT-IR and XRD, the formation of TiO2 and Ti2C will increase the interlayer spacing of the prepared Ti3C2-12 h, thereby improving the adsorption performance of MXenes. The main factors affecting the adsorbent, the maximum adsorption capacity, and the interaction between the two factors were analyzed by single-factor experiment, orthogonal experiment, and response surface analysis. The maximum DCF adsorption capacities of Ti3C2 and Ti3C2-12 h are 201 mg/g and 395 mg/g, respectively. MXene made from HF can absorb DCF under various pH conditions and maintain a high adsorption rate, which has important applications in environmental protection. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

184. Aspiration versus stent retriever for posterior circulation stroke: A meta‐analysis.

Abstract

Aims: New thrombectomy strategies have emerged recently. Differences between posterior circulation stroke management via aspiration and stent retriever remain to be evaluated. We compared the safety and efficacy of aspiration and stent retriever in treating posterior circulation stroke. Methods: Three databases (PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library) were systematically searched for studies comparing aspiration and stent retriever in patients with posterior circulation stroke. The modified Newcastle‐Ottawa scale was used to assess the risk of bias. A random‐effects model was used. Results: Fifteen cohort studies with 1451 patients were included. Pooled results showed a significant difference in total complication (odds ratio [OR] 0.48, 95% confidence interval [CI] [0.30, 0.76], p = 0.002). successful recanalization (1.85, [1.30, 2.64], p = 0.0006), favorable outcome (1.30, [1.02, 1.67], p = 0.04), procedure duration (−22.10, [−43.32, −0.88], p = 0.04), complete recanalization (4.96, [1.06, 23.16], p = 0.009), and first‐pass effect (2.59, [1.55, 4.32], p = 0.0003) between the aspiration and stent retriever groups, and in favor of aspiration. There was no significant difference in the outcomes of rescue therapy (1.42, [0.66, 3.05], p = 0.37) between the two groups. Conclusion: Patients with posterior circulation stroke receiving treatment with aspiration achieved better recanalization, first‐pass effect, and shorter procedure time. Abstract

Background Positron emission tomography–computed tomography (PET–CT) and bone marrow biopsy are currently the common clinical examination of lymphoma infiltration. The aim of this research is to evaluate the value of PET–CT in diagnosis of bone marrow infiltration, clinical staging and pathological typing of lymphoma. Methods 153 cases were analyzed retrospectively to compare the consistency of PET–CT and bone marrow biopsy. We analyzed the sensitivity, accuracy and specificity of PET–CT in different clinical pathology of lymphoma. Results The PET–CT sensitivity in detecting bone marrow infiltration is 54.3% with a specificity of 80.5% and accuracy of 74.5%. In aggressive B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL, HG-BL) and MZL, PET–CT results of bone marrow infiltration showed high accuracy of 88.1% and 83.3% respectively. The median value of SUVmax in the patients detected to have bone marrow infiltration by BMB was significantly higher than patients with BMB negative results among subgroups of aggressive B-cell lymphoma, MZL and T-NHL (p Conclusion PET–CT is significant in detecting bone marrow infiltration in certain pathological types of lymphoma. However pathological inconsistencies still exist between bone marrow biopsy and PET–CT, thus PET–CT cannot completely replace biopsy.
