Miniature robots have been widely studied and applied in the fields of search and rescue, reconnaissance, micromanipulation, and even the interior of the human body benefiting from their highlight features of small size, light weight, and agile movement. With the development of new smart materials, many functional actuating elements have been proposed to construct miniature robots. Compared with other actuating elements, piezoelectric actuating elements have the advantages of compact structure, high power density, fast response, high resolution, and no electromagnetic interference, which make them greatly suitable for actuating miniature robots, and capture the attentions and favor of numerous scholars. In this paper, a comprehensive review of recent developments in miniature piezoelectric robots (MPRs) is provided. The MPRs are classified and summarized in detail from three aspects of operating environment, structure of piezoelectric actuating element, and working principle. In addition, new manufacturing methods and piezoelectric materials in MPRs, as well as the application situations, are sorted out and outlined. Finally, the challenges and future trends of MPRs are evaluated and discussed. It is hoped that this review will be of great assistance for determining appropriate designs and guiding future developments of MPRs, and provide a destination board to the researchers interested in MPRs. Background: Recent studies have shown that lysosomes not only provide energy for tumor cell growth, but also participate in the occurrence and development of malignant tumors by regulating various ways of tumor cell death. However, the role of lysosome associated genes (LSAGs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains unclear. Methods: Transcriptome data and clinical data of HCC were downloaded from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) databases. We identified differential expression of LSAGs by comparing tumor tissue with normal liver tissue. Subsequently, we used univariate COX analysis and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) COX regression to construct the prognostic feature of LSAGs. Kaplan–Meier survival curve and receiver operating characteristic curve were used to evaluate the predictive ability of LSAGs feature. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) were used for functional enrichment analysis of risk differential genes. The relationship between LSAGs score and tumor microenvironment and chemotherapy drug sensitivity was analyzed. Finally, the cellular communication of tumor cells with high and low expression of model LSAGs was explored. Results: We identified sixteen prognostic associated LSAGs, four of which were selected to construct prognostic feature of LSAGs. Patients in the low LSAGs group had a better prognosis than those in the high LSAGs group. GO and KEGG analyses showed that risk differential genes were enriched in leukocyte migration, cytokine–cytokine receptor interaction and PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. The group with low LSAGs score had lower immune score. Patients in the high LSAGs group were more sensitive to drugs for chemotherapy. In addition, tumor cells with high expression of model LSAGs showed stronger association with immune cells through the interleukin-2 (IL2), fibroblast growth factor (FGF), adiponectin, and bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP) signaling pathways. Diosgenin, a natural steroid saponin, holds promise as a multitarget therapeutic for various diseases, including neurodegenerative conditions. Its efficacy in slowing Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and stroke progression has been demonstrated. However, the role of diosgenin in anti‐epilepsy and its potential connection to the modulation of the intestinal microbiota remain poorly understood. In this study, exogenous diosgenin significantly mitigated pentylenetetrazole (PTZ)‐induced seizures, learning and memory deficits, and hippocampal neuronal injury. 16S ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) sequencing revealed a reversal in the decrease of Bacteroides and Parabacteroides genera in the PTZ‐induced mouse epileptic model following diosgenin treatment. Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) experiments illustrated the involvement of diosgenin in modulating gut microbiota and providing neuroprotection against epilepsy. Our results further indicated the repression of enteric glial cells (EGCs) activation and the TLR4‐MyD88 pathway, coupled with reduced production of inflammatory cytokines in the colonic lumen, and improved intestinal barrier function in epilepsy mice treated with diosgenin or FMT. This study suggests that diosgenin plays a role in modifying gut microbiota, contributing to the alleviation of intestinal inflammation and neuroinflammation, ultimately inhibiting epilepsy progression in a PTZ‐induced mouse model. Background:Orientia tsutsugamushi is a zoonotic intracellular pathogen that requires parasitism in eukaryotic cells to reproduce. In recent years, tsutsugamushi disease reported in many places nationwide has crossed the Yangtze River, continuously, spreading to the North China. Now this phenomenon has aroused people's attention. Materials and Methods: In this study, meta-analysis was used to analyze the infection of rodents (vectors) in China, to clarify the transmission rule of O. tsutsugamushi. Results: This study included literature from six databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct, Wanfang, CNKI, and VIP). A total of 55 articles were included in the study from 610 retrieved articles. The total infection rate of O. tsutsugamushi in rodents was 5.5% (1206/20,620, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.0553–0.0617). The prevalence of O. tsutsugamushi in rodents before 2013 (7.73%, 95% CI: 4.11–12.37) was higher than after 2013 (2.11%, 95% CI: 0.64–4.41). O. tsutsugamushi spread among a variety of rodents, among which Rattus losea (13.3%, 95% CI: 4.33–26.26), Rattus tanezumi (5.69%, 95% CI: 1.37–12.72), and Apodemus agrarius (5.32%, 95% CI: 2.26–9.58) infection rate was higher. Kawasaki (8.32%, 95% CI: 1.42–20.17), Karp (7.36%, 95% CI: 2.62–14.22), Kato (2.54%, 95% CI: 0.08–8.28), and Gilliam (2.13%, 95% CI: 0.42–5.09) were the main prevalent genotypes in China. The prevalence of O. tsutsugamushi in rodents was seasonal, increasing gradually in summer (2.39%, 95% CI: 0.46–5.77), peaking in autumn (4.59%, 95% CI: 1.15–10.16), and then declining. The positive rate of immunofluorescence assay (25.07%, 95% CI: 8.44–46.88) was the highest among the detection methods, and it was statistically significant (p < 0.05). Based on the subgroup of geographical factors and climatic factors, the probability of O. tsutsugamushi infection in rodents was the highest when the temperature >19℃ (8.20%, 95% CI: 1.22–20.52), the altitude <100 millimeters (7.23%, 95% CI: 3.45–12.26), the precipitation >700 millimeters (12.22%, 95% CI: 6.45–19.50), and the humidity 60–70% (7.80%, 95% CI: 4.17–12.44). Conclusions: Studies have shown that rodents carrying O. tsutsugamushi are common. People should prevent and control rodents in life and monitor rodents carrying O. tsutsugamushi for a long time. [Display omitted] In the context of industrialization and severe wastewater pollution, mercury ions pose a major threat due to their high toxicity. However, traditional adsorbents and common metal-organic framework (MOF) materials have limited effectiveness. This study focuses on combining magnetic materials with functionalized titanium-based MOF composite (SNN-MIL-125(Ti)@Fe 3 O 4) to improve mercury ion adsorption. Through comprehensive characterization and analysis, the adsorption performance and mechanism of the material were studied. The optimal adsorption of the material was achieved at pH 5, exhibiting a pseudo-second-order adsorption model and the Hill theoretical capacity of 668.98 mg/g. Hill and Tempkin models confirmed the presence of chemical and physical adsorption sites on the material surface. Thermodynamic experiments showed a spontaneous endothermic process. Despite the presence of interfering ions, the material exhibited high selectivity for mercury ions. After four cycles, adsorption performance decreased by only 8%, indicating excellent reusability. Nitrogen- and sulfur-containing functional groups played a key role in mercury ion adsorption. In conclusion, SNN-MIL-125(Ti)@Fe 3 O 4 , as a magnetic MOF adsorption material, showed potential for effective remediation of mercury-contaminated wastewater. Global warming caused by excessive emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) has become a hot topic globally in today's society, and optimizing carbon emission performance (CEP) is an effective way to alleviate CO2 emissions. Many studies have explored CEP at the global, national, provincial and sector levels. However, due to the difficulty in obtaining energy consumption data, there is a lack of studies at the urban agglomeration and city levels. Taking the urban agglomeration dimension as the starting point, this paper constructs an improved epsilon-based measure (EBM) model to measure the CEP of the Yellow River Basin. A spatial data analysis model was introduced to explore the regional spatial characteristics of CEP. The newly developed spatial statistical model was used to study the driving factors of CEP. The results showed that: (1) The overall CEP of the Yellow River Basin was relatively high, showing an upward trend of volatility. There were significant differences between the seven urban agglomerations and 69 cities. (2) The CEP of the Yellow River Basin showed a trend of spatial agglomeration. The urban agglomerations of the eastern region showed a low-value agglomeration phenomenon, and the urban agglomerations of the central and western regions showed a trend of high-value agglomeration. (3) Economic development level (PGGDP), technological progress (TP), industrialization level (IND) and human capital (HC) can play a positive role in promoting the improvement in CEP, and population structure (PD) and energy structure (ES) can play a negative role in promoting the improvement in CEP. Industrial agglomeration (IA) and CEP show a "U"-shaped relationship that first inhibits and then promotes. Spontaneous liquid–liquid imbibition in capillaries with irregular axial geometries is common in the petroleum industry. Monitoring the real-time dynamic contact angle (DCA) of the meniscus is crucial during such processes. In this work, we extend the Bell–Cameron–Lucas–Washburn (BCLW) equation by considering the axial shape of the capillaries, inertial force, and non-wetting fluid viscosity. We also develop a cascaded multi-component Shan–Chen lattice Boltzmann method (CLBM) with a modified mass-conservative curved boundary scheme to accurately simulate imbibition processes in sinusoidal capillaries. The results indicate that the DCA is highly sensitive to variations in the axial geometry of the capillary during imbibition, displaying a periodic time evolution pattern. When the axial geometry diverges, the DCA increases, and when it converges, the DCA decreases. The viscosity ratio affects the imbibition velocity, controlling the evolution period and extreme values of the DCA. A critical contact angle exists for a fixed capillary axial geometry and viscosity ratio. Continuous spontaneous imbibition occurs if the static contact angle is smaller than this critical value. However, if it exceeds this threshold, imbibition ceases within regions where axial geometry divergence. Moreover, we noticed a discrepancy in imbibition lengths predicted by the extended BCLW equation that ignores the DCA compared to those computed through the CLBM. To address this issue, we employed CLBM to monitor the DCA in real time and used the gathered data to refine the extended BCLW equation. Heat flow is a geothermal parameter for indicating the heat source distribution and evaluating geothermal reservoirs. Only 1,230 heat flow points are distributed unevenly in China, mainly concentrated in high‐temperature geothermal and southeast regions. The Songliao Basin is a potential geothermal field in China. Still, only 20 measurement points are known, making evaluating the geothermal genetic mechanism difficult. Sparse data interpolation using deep learning methods is highly accurate and widely used in fields such as image processing. In this work, we propose a deep neural network for predicting heat flow in the Songliao Basin. More than 4,000 global heat flows and 23 geological and geophysical parameters are used as reference constraints for training. The uncertainty error of the prediction is estimated based on the correlation and distance‐based generalized sensitivity analysis. The results show that the maximum heat flow is 85 mW/m2, the average is 67.1 mW/m2, and the error with the measured data is 10.64%. The previous geophysical and geological interpretation results indicate that the heat flow is higher in the west and lower in the east, with high anomalies in the central region, which may be related to the uplift of the deep mantle and the depression of the shallow low‐velocity sedimentary layer. Some high‐temperature melt bodies are in the deep layers, forming the current potential geothermal field. The measured data validates that the DNN is an effective method for predicting regional‐scale heat flow, providing reliable heat source information for evaluating geothermal resources. Geothermal heat flow (GHF) is crucial among various indicators for assessing potential geothermal fields, with over 20,000 measurement points worldwide. However, due to the expensive cost of drilling measurements, the spatial distribution of heat flow points could be more balanced, posing challenges to geothermal exploration and investigation. Traditional heat flow prediction methods rely on interpolation based on sparse measurement points to estimate the regional heat flow distribution. However, spatial variations in the measurement points often affect the prediction results, leading to lower accuracy. Therefore, this study proposes a deep learning approach to establish the complex relationship between heat flow and geological/geophysical features, aiming to estimate the heat flow distribution in the target area. The proposed method has been successfully applied to heat flow prediction in the Songliao Basin, accompanied by an uncertainty analysis technique that provides confidence intervals for the prediction results. These findings offer direct evidence for the geothermal formation mechanisms and thermal evolution laws in the Songliao Basin. Epithelial tissues have a variety of functions, such as protection, secretion, and absorption. Appropriate mechanical properties of epithelia are essential to achieve these functions. Based on the indentation technology, we combine experiments, theory, and simulations to characterize the mechanical properties of epithelial monolayers. We measure the Young's modulus of in vitro cultured epithelial cell monolayers, including MCF-10A human breast epithelial (MCF-10A) cell monolayers and Madin–Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cell monolayers. We find that the elastic moduli of the two kinds of cell monolayers (~ 1 MPa) have the orders of magnitude larger than those of the constituent cells (~ 1 kPa) in an isolated state, suggesting a critical role of intercellular interactions via cell–cell junctions in contributing to tissue stiffness. We also find that the elastic modulus of epithelial cell monolayers increases non-linearly with the cell density: MCF-10A cell monolayers exhibit a sharp increase in modulus beyond a critical cell density of ~ 3000 mm−2, indicating a fluid-to-solid transition as the cell density increases. Our results reveal the significant contribution of cell density and intercellular interactions to the mechanical properties of epithelial tissues, and could provide mechanical insights into the tissue stiffness changes involved in embryo or tumor development. Aeromonas hydrophila and A. veronii are widespread and important critical pathogenic bacteria in the aquaculture industry and cause severe economic damage. At present, magnolol has been proved to be a broad‐spectrum antibacterial activity, such as A. hydrophila, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus mutans. In order to explore the cause of in vivo disease resistance of magnolol and promote its safe application in aquaculture, the pathological detection and changes in immune indicators of fish after feeding with magnolol were conducted in this paper. Results showed that the diets supplemented with magnolol (3 g magnolol/kg commercial feed) significantly increase the expression level of anti‐inflammatory cytokines (IL‐10, TGF‐β and IL‐4) in the liver of goldfish (p <.05). Additionally, the expression levels of proinflammatory cytokines (IL‐1β, IL‐8 and IFN‐γ) did not increase significantly. Subsequently, this study investigated the resistance of goldfish to A. hydrophila and A. veronii infection after feeding with magnolol. The results showed that the survival rates of treatment groups fed 3 g magnolol/kg commercial feed daily increased by 23.1% and 38.5% after 10 days post A. hydrophila and A. veronii (p =.0351) infection, respectively. Meanwhile, growth performance (body weight and length), major internal organs (liver, spleen, kidney and intestine) and the serum biochemistry indicators (ATL and AST) all exhibited no significant adverse effects after the goldfish fed with magnolol for 30 days. TP showed an increasing concentration in the treatment group (p <.05). Results of the mRNA expression of stress response indicated that the expression level of cyp1a and hsp70 was significantly down‐regulated after a 30‐day treatment (p <.05), and the two genes recovered to the similar level as the control group after a commercial feed diet. In brief, the diets supplemented with magnolol protected the host from the excessive immune response caused by A. hydrophila and A. veronii via enhancing its anti‐inflammatory capacity and had no adverse effects with feeding. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a microvascular complication of diabetes. Microaneurysms (MAs) are often observed in the retinal vessels of diabetic patients and represent one of the earliest signs of DR. Accurate and efficient detection of MAs is crucial for the diagnosis of DR. In this study, an automatic model (MA-YOLO) is proposed for MA detection in fluorescein angiography (FFA) images. To obtain detailed features and improve the discriminability of MAs in FFA images, SwinIR was utilized to reconstruct super-resolution images. To solve the problems of missed detection of small features and feature information loss, an MA detection layer was added between the neck and the head sections of YOLOv8. To enhance the generalization ability of the MA-YOLO model, transfer learning was conducted between high-resolution images and low-resolution images. To avoid excessive penalization due to geometric factors and address sample distribution imbalance, the loss function was optimized by taking the Wise-IoU loss as a bounding box regression loss. The performance of the MA-YOLO model in MA detection was compared with that of other state-of-the-art models, including SSD, RetinaNet, YOLOv5, YOLOX, and YOLOv7. The results showed that the MA-YOLO model had the best performance in MA detection, as shown by its optimal metrics, including recall, precision, F1 score, and AP, which were 88.23%, 97.98%, 92.85%, and 94.62%, respectively. Collectively, the proposed MA-YOLO model is suitable for the automatic detection of MAs in FFA images, which can assist ophthalmologists in the diagnosis of the progression of DR. Simple Summary: Patients with long-lasting metabolic syndrome (MS) are at high risk for cancer and complications of cardiovascular diseases, which remain the leading cause of death globally. Despite the development of many novel therapies for MS, a huge unmet need persists. Currently, there is considerable evidence that exosomes are strongly associated with the occurrence and progression of MS. Thus, this article reviews the composition, biogenesis, biological functions and potential applications of exosomes, particularly focusing on current advances about the potential role of exosomes in the development of MS. Comprehensively understanding the effects of exosome on MS could have the significant potential to identify safe and effective diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to MS. Exosomes are a subtype of extracellular vesicles (EVs) with a diameter of 30~150 nm (averaging ~100 nm) that are primarily produced through the endosomal pathway, and carry various components such as lipids, proteins, RNA, and other small molecular substances. Exosomes can mediate intercellular communication through the bioactive substances they carry, thus participating in different physiological activities. Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a disease caused by disturbances in the body's metabolism, mainly including insulin resistance (IR), diabetes, obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), hyperlipidemia, and atherosclerosis (AS). Recent studies have shown that exosomes are closely related to the occurrence and development of MS. Exosomes can act as messengers to mediate signaling transductions between metabolic cells in the organism and play a bidirectional regulatory role in the MS process. This paper mainly reviews the components, biogenesis, biological functions and potential applications of exosomes, and exosomes involved in the pathogenesis of MS as well as their clinical significance in MS diagnosis. AIM: To investigate the inhibitory effect of the "decoction for soothing liver and removing stasis and toxicity (SGQYJDF)" on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) proliferation in nude mice by inducing ferroptosis via the tumor protein 53 (p53)/solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11/xCT)/glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) pathway. METHODS: An ectopic subcutaneous tumor model was established by injecting SK-Hep-1 cells subcutaneously into the right axilla of nude mice. Upon formation of tumor, the mice were randomly divided into five groups (i. e., control group, low-, medium- and high-dose SGQYJDF groups and medium-dose SGQYJDF plus Sorafenib group). Each group of mice was orally administered with the corresponding therapy for 14 consecutive days, during which the tumor size was observed regularly. At the end of treatment, the tumor growth inhibition rate was calculated based on tumor mass, and histopathological changes were observed by HE staining. Then, the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH) and ferrous ions (Fe2+) were detected by colorimetric assays. The expression of the proliferation markers Ki-67 and GPX4 was detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC). The expression of p53 and xCT was detected by Immunofluorescence (IF). And the expression of p53, xCT and GPX4 was determined by Western blot. RESULTS: (1) SGQYJDF was found to dose-dependently decrease tumor volume (P<0. 01) and inhibit tumor mass growth (P<0. 01), and meanwhile, reduce the percentage of Ki-67-positive cells (P<0. 01) and their proliferation ability in tumor tissues, as compared to the control group. (2) In terms of Ferroptosis-related indicators, SGQYJDF was found to dose-dependently increase the levels of Fe2+ and MDA but decrease the level of GSH in tumor tissues (P<0. 01), as compared to the control group. (3) In terms of protein expression, SGQYJDF was found to dose-dependently upregulate the expression of p53 (P<0. 05) but inhibit the expression of xCT (P<0. 05) and GPX4 (P<0. 01). Notably, medium-dose SGQYJDF plus sorafenib showed a stronger effect than high-dose SGQYJDF. CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that SGQYJDF can induce Ferroptosis to inhibit the proliferation of subcutaneously transplanted tumor tissues in nude mice by upregulating the expression of p53, and inhibiting the expression of xCT and GPX4. A new spatial keyword group query method is proposed in this paper to address the existing issue of user privacy leakage and exclusion of preferences in road networks. The proposed query method is based on the IGgram-tree index and minimum hash set. To deal with this problem effectively, this paper proposes a query method based on the IGgram-tree index and minimum hash set. The IGgram-tree index is proposed for the first time to deal with the approximate keyword query problem in the road network. This index significantly improves the efficiency of calculating the road network distance and querying approximate keywords. Considering that spatial keyword group queries are caused by NP-hard problems with high time complexity, this paper proposes a data structure that uses the minimum hash set, which can efficiently search for the result set. To address the problem that the traditional spatial keyword group query does not consider user privacy leakage and the limitations of existing privacy protection techniques, this method proposes a differential privacy-based allocation method to better protect the privacy of data. The theoretical study and experimental analysis show that the proposed method can better handle the approximate spatial keyword group query problem based on its use of differential privacy and exclusion preferences in road networks. Sisal is a leaf fiber crop with a high integrated value and a wide range of uses in the application of soil remediation of heavy metal contamination. This study provides a preliminary understanding of how sisal responds to Cd stress and presents a theoretical basis for exploring the potential of sisal in the remediation of Cd-contaminated soils. In this work, the activities of the antioxidant enzymes (SOD, POD, and CAT) of sisal were measured by hydroponics with the addition of CdCl2·2.5H2O and different concentrations of Cd stress. Whole transcriptome sequencing (RNA-Seq) analysis was performed with lllumina sequencing technology, and qRT-PCR was conducted to verify the differential genes. The results obtained were as follows: (1) Short-term low concentration of Cd stress (20 mg/kg) had a transient promotion effect on the growth of sisal roots, but Cd showed a significant inhibitory effect on the growth of sisal roots over time. (2) Under different concentrations of Cd stress, the Cd content in sisal root was greater than that in sisal leaf, and Cd accumulated mainly in sisal roots. (3) With the increase of Cd stress concentration, the antioxidant enzyme catalase activity increased, peroxidase activity showed a decreasing trend, and superoxide dismutase showed a trend of increasing and then decreasing. (4) Transcriptome sequencing analysis detected 123 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), among which 85 genes were up-regulated and 38 genes were down-regulated. The DEGs were mainly concentrated in flavonoid biosynthesis and glutathione metabolism, and both processes had some regulatory effects on the Cd tolerance characteristics of sisal. This study elucidated the physiological, biochemical and transcriptomic responses of sisal under cadmium stress, and provided a theoretical basis for the ecological restoration function of sisal. Aim: The current overview on published systematic reviews (SRs) and meta-analysis (MAs) aimed to systematically gather, evaluate, and synthesize solid evidence for using fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) to treat ulcerative colitis (UC). Methods: Relevant articles published before January 2023 were collected from Web of Science, Embase, PubMed, and Cochrane Library. Two authors used Assessment of Multiple Systematic Reviews 2 (AMSTAR-2) tool, PRISMA checklists, and Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system were applied by two authors to independently evaluate the methodological quality, reporting quality, and evidence quality, respectively. Re-meta-analysis on the primary RCTs was conducted after excluding overlapping randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Results: Six SRs/MAs involving 12 primary RCTs and 544 participants were included. According to the AMSTAR-2 tool and PRISMA checklist, methodological quality and reporting quality of the included studies was overall satisfactory. The evidence quality of a great majority of outcomes was rated as moderate to high according to the GRADE system. Compared to placebo, the re-meta-analysis found a great advantage of use FMT in inducing combined clinical and endoscopic remission (OR 3.83 [2.31, 6.34]), clinical remission (3.31 [2.09, 5.25]), endoscopic remission (OR 3.75 [2.20, 6.39]), clinical response (OR 2.56 [1.64, 4.00]), and endoscopic response (OR 2.18 [1.12, 4.26]). Pooled data showed no significant difference in serious adverse events between patients receiving FMT and those receiving placebo (OR 1.53 [0.74, 3.19]). Evidence quality of the outcomes derived from re-meta-analysis was significantly higher after overcoming the limitations of previous SRs/MAs. Conclusion: In conclusion, moderate- to high-quality evidence supported a promising use of FMT to safely induce remission in UC. The brown planthopper (BPH, Nilaparvata lugens) is a notorious sap‐sucking insect pest that damages rice (Oryza sativa) plants throughout Asia. During BPH feeding, saliva enters rice plant tissues, whereas during oviposition egg‐associated secretions (EAS) are deposited in damaged plant tissue. Dynamic changes in rice to planthopper salivary effectors have been widely reported. However, the effects of EAS from planthopper on rice immunity remains largely unexplored. In this study, we found that both infestation of rice by gravid BPH female adults and treatment with the EAS elicited a strong and rapid accumulation of jasmonic acid (JA), JA‐isoleucine, and hydrogen peroxide in rice. EAS enhanced plant defenses not only in rice but also in tobacco, and these impaired the performance of BPH on rice, as well as the performance of aphids and whiteflies on tobacco. High‐throughput proteome sequencing of EAS led to 110 proteins being identified and 53 proteins with 2 or more unique peptides being detected. Some proteins from BPH EAS were also found in the salivary proteome from herbivores, suggesting potential evolutionary conservation of effector functions across feeding and oviposition; however, others were only identified in EAS, and these are likely specifically related to oviposition. These findings point to novel proteins affecting interactions between planthoppers and rice during oviposition, providing an additional source of information for effector studies. Ménière's disease (MD) is associated with functional reorganization not only in the auditory or sensory cortex but also in other control and cognitive areas. In this study, we examined intranetwork and internetwork connectivity differences between 55 MD patients and 70 healthy controls (HC) in 9 well-defined resting-state networks. Functional connectivity degree was lower in MD compared to HC in 19 brain areas involved in the somatomotor, auditory, ventral attention, default mode, limbic, and deep gray matter networks. In addition, we observed lower intranetwork connectivity in the auditory, ventral attention, and limbic networks, as well as lower internetwork connectivity between the somatomotor and limbic networks, and between the auditory and somatomotor, deep gray matter, and ventral attention networks, and between the deep gray matter and default mode network. Furthermore, we identified 81 pairs of brain areas with significant differences in functional connectivity between MD patients and HC at the edge level. Notably, the left amygdala's functional connectivity degree was positively correlated with MD's disease stage, and the ventral attention network's intranetwork connectivity was positively correlated with the healthy side vestibular ratio. Our findings suggest that these functional network reorganization alterations may serve as potential biomarkers for predicting clinical progression, evaluating disease severity, and gaining a better understanding of MD's pathophysiology. To investigate how sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) add-on therapy for metformin affects diabetic retinopathy (DR) progression in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This nationwide population-based study conducted from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2018 involved 3,432,911 adults with T2DM in Taiwan. To adjust for potential confounders, data on sex, age, income, comorbidities, diabetes complication severity index score, staging of kidney disease, anti-diabetic medications, and index year were included. The outcome was DR progression, determined by procedure codes or the addition of ICD-9-CM or ICD-10-CM codes to the medical records of the patients during the study. Sensitivity analyses were performed to validate the findings. The adjusted hazard ratio (aHR) of DR progression was 0.89 for the SGLT2is add-on group, relative to the control group [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.81–0.99, P = 0.026]. The Kaplan–Meier curve of the cumulative incidence rate showed that the cumulative incidence of DR progression was considerably decreased in the SGLT2is cohort (log-rank P = 0.0261). The use of SGLT2is for less than 1 year and 1–2 years were associated with a significant increase in the risk of DR progression (aHR 1.56 and 1.88, respectively); however, the risk markedly reduced if the SGLT2is regimen was used for more than 2 years (aHR 0.41, 95% Cl 0.35–0.48; P < 0.001). The serial sensitivity analysis showed consistent findings. The aHR of DR progression was 0.82 for the SGLT2is cohort relative to the non-SGLT2is cohort based on the fundoscopy or indirect ophthalmoscopy findings within 1 year before the outcome date (95% Cl 0.71–0.95; P = 0.009). Co-administration of metformin and SGLT2is may reduce the risk of DR progression. [Display omitted] The climate effects of atmospheric aerosols remain highly uncertain. Part of the uncertainty arises from the fact that scattering and absorbing aerosols have distinct or even opposite effects. Thus their relative fraction is critical in determining the overall aerosol climate effect. This study combines observations and global model simulations to demonstrate that changes in the fraction of scattering and absorbing aerosols play an important role in driving the monsoon precipitation decrease over northern India since the 1980s, especially over the Gangetic Basin. Increased aerosol scattering, or decreased aerosol absorption, manifested as a significant increase of aerosol single scattering albedo (SSA), causes strong cooling in the upper atmosphere. This suppresses vertical convection and thus reduces precipitation. Further analysis of the Couple Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 multi-model-mean historical simulation shows that failing to capture the SSA increase over northern India is likely an important cause of the simulated precipitation trend bias in this area. Interfacial solar steam generation (ISSG) provides a sustainable approach of clean water production through desalination and water purification. It is still needed to pursue a fast evaporation rate, high-quality freshwater production, and low-cost evaporators. Herein, a three-dimensional (3D) bilayer aerogel was fabricated using cellulose nanofiber (CNF) as a skeleton filled with polyvinyl alcohol phosphate ester (PVAP), and carbon nanotubes (CNT) as a light absorbing material in the top layer. The CNF/PVAP/CNT aerogel (CPC) had broadband light absorption ability and exhibited an ultrafast water transfer rate. The lower thermal conductivity of CPC effectively confined the convert heat in the top surface and minimized heat loss. Additionally, a large amount of intermediate water caused by water activation decreased the evaporation enthalpy. Under 1 sun irradiation, the CPC-3 (3.0 cm height of CPC) achieved a high evaporation rate of 4.02 kg m−2 h−1 with an energy conversion efficiency of 125.1%. The additional convective flow and environmental energy made CPC achieve an ultrahigh evaporation rate of 11.37 kg m−2 h−1, surpassing 673% of the solar input energy. More importantly, the continuous solar desalination and higher evaporation rate (10.70 kg m−2 h−1) in seawater revealed that CPC was a promising candidate for practical desalination. Outdoor cumulative evaporation was up to 73.2 kg m−2 d−1 in weak sunlight and lower temperature, which would meet the daily drinking water demands of 20 people. The excellent cost-effectiveness of 1.085 L h−1 $−1 presented its potential for a wide range of practical applications, such as solar desalination, wastewater treatment, and metal extractions. Global aging leads to a surge in neurological diseases. Quantitative gait analysis for the early detection of neurological diseases can effectively reduce the impact of the diseases. Recently, extensive research has focused on gait-abnormality-recognition algorithms using a single type of portable sensor. However, these studies are limited by the sensor's type and the task specificity, constraining the widespread application of quantitative gait recognition. In this study, we propose a multimodal gait-abnormality-recognition framework based on a Convolutional Neural Network-Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (CNN-BiLSTM) network. The as-established framework effectively addresses the challenges arising from smooth data interference and lengthy time series by employing an adaptive sliding window technique. Then, we convert the time series into time–frequency plots to capture the characteristic variations in different abnormality gaits and achieve a unified representation of the multiple data types. This makes our signal processing method adaptable to several types of sensors. Additionally, we use a pre-trained Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) for feature extraction, and the consequently established CNN-BiLSTM network can achieve high-accuracy recognition by fusing and classifying the multi-sensor input data. To validate the proposed method, we conducted diversified experiments to recognize the gait abnormalities caused by different neuropathic diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease (PD), and Huntington's disease (HD). In the PDgait dataset, the framework achieved an accuracy of 98.89% in the classification of Parkinson's disease severity, surpassing DCLSTM's 96.71%. Moreover, the recognition accuracy of ALS, PD, and HD on the PDgait dataset was 100%, 96.97%, and 95.43% respectively, surpassing the majority of previously reported methods. These experimental results strongly demonstrate the potential of the proposed multimodal framework for gait abnormality identification. Due to the advantages of the framework, such as its suitability for different types of sensors and fewer training parameters, it is more suitable for gait monitoring in daily life and the customization of medical rehabilitation schedules, which will help more patients alleviate the harm caused by their diseases. Five countries in the Lancang–Mekong region, including Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, are facing the threat of deforestation, despite having a high level of forest coverage. Quantitatively assessing the forest ecosystem status and its variations based on remote sensing products for vegetation parameters is a crucial prerequisite for the ongoing phase of our future project. In this study, we analyzed forest health in the year 2020 using four vegetation indicators: forest coverage index (FCI), leaf area index (LAI), fraction of green vegetation cover (FVC), and gross primary productivity (GPP). Additionally, we introduced an ecosystem quality index (EQI) to assess the quality of forest health. To understand the long-term trends in the vegetation indicators and EQI, we also performed a linear regression analysis from 2010 to 2020. The results revealed that Laos ranked as the top-performing country for forest ecosystem status in the Lancang–Mekong region in 2020. However, the long-term trend analysis results showed that Cambodia experienced the most significant decline across all indicators, while Vietnam and Thailand demonstrated varying degrees of improvement. In this paper, we consider the prediction of the helium concentrations as function of a spatially variable source term perturbed by fractional Brownian motion. For the direct problem, we show that it is well-posed and has a unique mild solution under some conditions. For the inverse problem, the uniqueness and the instability are given. In the meanwhile, we determine the statistical properties of the source from the expectation and covariance of the final-time data u (r , T). In this paper, the prescribed tracking performance control problem is addressed for uncertain nonlinear systems with unknown periodically time‐varying parameters and arbitrary switching signal. By utilizing radial basis function neural network and fourier series expansion, an approximator is developed to overcome the difficulty of identifying unknown periodically time‐varying and nonlinearly parameterized functions. To achieve the ideal tracking control performance and eliminate the influence of filtering error, a novel command filter‐based adaptive neural network prescribed tracking performance controller is designed by introducing a filtering compensation mechanism. Differently from the standard Backstepping technique, the proposed control scheme eliminates the "explosion of complexity" problem and relaxes the constraint condition on the reference signal. And then, it is warranted that the closed‐loop system is semi‐globally ultimately uniformly bounded and the tracking error is always limited to the specified region bounded by the performance functions. Surfactant‐free microemulsions (SFMEs) cleaning technology can effectively separate and recover petroleum pollutants from oil‐based drilling cuttings (OBDCs). The identification of the molecular composition of OBDCs is helpful to accurately grasp the conversion mechanism of organic matter. Therefore, the understanding of the mechanism of petroleum removal at the microscopic molecular level in the cleaning process needs to be further studied. The conversion mechanism of organic matter during the use of SFMEs to clean OBDCs was investigated by positive ion atmospheric pressure photoionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (+APPI FT‐ICR MS). The results show that the SFMEs cleaning technology can separate and recover CH and CHO organic matter in OBDCs, but there is still a small amount of organic matter with high molecular weight and unsaturated degree in OBDCs that has not been separated. The majority of this organic matter is CH, accounting for 91 %, and it is mainly polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. A total of 255 kinds of organic matter in 110# industrial white oil were detected in the recovered oil after treatment, accounting for more than 99 % of the total, which has a certain recoverable value. Background: Despite the high burden of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias among the Hispanic population worldwide, little is known about how dementia affects healthcare utilizations among this population outside of the US, in particular among those in the Caribbean region. Objective: This study examines healthcare utilization associated with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias among older adults in the Caribbean as compared to the US. Methods: We conducted harmonized analyses of two population-based surveys, the 10/66 Dementia Group Research data collected in Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Puerto Rico, and the US-based Health and Retirement Study. We examined changes in hospital nights and physician visits in response to incident and ongoing dementias. Results: Incident dementia significantly increased the risk of hospitalization and number of hospital nights in both populations. Ongoing dementia increased the risk of hospitalization and hospital nights in the US, with imprecise estimates for the Caribbean. The number of physician visits was elevated in the US but not in the Caribbean. Conclusions: The concentration of increased healthcare utilization on hospital care and among patients with incident dementia suggests an opportunity for improved outpatient management of new and existing dementia patients in the Caribbean. Abstract We conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of veliparib in the treatment of advanced/metastatic breast cancer. Databases were searched for relevant studies till June 2023. Six RCTs involving 1912 patients were included. The pooled analysis provided evidence that veliparib-containing regimens could significantly improve the PFS (HR: 0.71; 95% CI: 0.61-0.83; p < 0.0001), OS (HR: 0.87; 95% CI: 0.76-0.99; p = 0.03), and ORR (RR: 1.52; 95% CI:1.06-2.18; p = 0.02) than those of controls for treating advanced/metastatic breast cancer. Breast cancer patients with BRCA-mutation tended to have a better PFS than the BRCA-wildtype group, and patients with TNBC tended to associated with a longer PFS than the non-TNBC group. Veliparib could significantly increase the risk of anemia, leukopenia, neutropenia, diarrhea, stomatitis, fatigue, and peripheral neuropathy. Anemia and neutropenia should be well concerned. As a low‐grade sustainable heat source, the human body provides a great driving force for converting heat into electric energy using thermoelectric materials, which can effectively power wearable electronics. However, the low thermoelectric conversion efficiency is not sufficient to achieve energy autonomy in the operation of wearable devices. Herein, wearable bacterial cellulose (BC) organogel‐based thermoelectrochemical cells (TECs) are designed and prepared with K4Fe(CN)6/K3Fe(CN)6 as a redox couple. The addition of propylene glycol significantly improves the mechanical properties of the TECs and drives K4Fe(CN)6 to gradually crystallize, resulting in the concentration gradient of redox ions, which significantly enhanced the heat‐to‐electricity conversion efficiency (from 1.27 to 2.30 mV K−1), proving that they are promising candidates for powering flexible and wearable devices in various application scenarios. The TECs are further assembled into self‐powered strain sensors, which can detect the movement of the human body under various tensions and pressures in real time with high sensitivity. The mutational processes dictating the accumulation of mutations in genomes are shaped by genetic background, environment and their interactions. Accurate quantification of mutation rates and spectra under drugs has important implications in disease treatment. Here, we used whole-genome sequencing and time-resolved growth phenotyping of yeast mutation accumulation lines to give a detailed view of the mutagenic effects of rapamycin and hydroxyurea on the genome and cell growth. Mutation rates depended on the genetic backgrounds but were only marginally affected by rapamycin. As a remarkable exception, rapamycin treatment was associated with frequent chromosome XII amplifications, which compensated for rapamycin induced rDNA repeat contraction on this chromosome and served to maintain rDNA content homeostasis and fitness. In hydroxyurea, a wide range of mutation rates were elevated regardless of the genetic backgrounds, with a particularly high occurrence of aneuploidy that associated with dramatic fitness loss. Hydroxyurea also induced a high T-to-G and low C-to-A transversion rate that reversed the common G/C-to-A/T bias in yeast and gave rise to a broad range of structural variants, including mtDNA deletions. The hydroxyurea mutation footprint was consistent with the activation of error-prone DNA polymerase activities and non-homologues end joining repair pathways. Taken together, our study provides an in-depth view of mutation rates and signatures in rapamycin and hydroxyurea and their impact on cell fitness, which brings insights for assessing their chronic effects on genome integrity. An accurate depiction of its intrinsic rate and signature can help us understand the genetic basis of biodiversity and diseases. However, the ubiquitous existence of natural selection often leads to bias for the observable mutations in natural populations. To minimize such confounding effect introduced by selection, we applied evolution experiment by random single-cell bottlenecks, which allows almost all kinds of mutations to accumulate in an unbiased way. With this setup, we examined the mutation rates and signatures of yeast cells in two commonly used chemotherapy drugs that impairs essential cellular functions such as DNA and protein synthesis. We found elevated mutation rates for a wide range of genetic variants, accompanied by dramatic fitness loss in hydroxyurea. The mutational signatures suggest the involvement of low fidelity DNA replication and repair processes. The mutagenic effects of rapamycin are marginal but with frequent chromosome XII amplifications that compensate for rapamycin-induced rDNA contraction on this chromosome. Our findings provide an example of how such experiments on model organisms can help us better understand the chronic mutagenic effects of drugs and their underlying biological mechanisms. Objectives: This study aims to review halitosis research, discuss its various causes, and propose effective interventions based on the underlying etiologies and mechanisms. The main research question is to identify the primary factors contributing to halitosis and appropriate strategies to address them. Materials and methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted on halitosis and its associated causes, including oral pathological factors, oral microbial influences, microbial metabolic pathways, gastrointestinal diseases, and gut microbiota dysbiosis. Results: Unhealthy eating habits and an imbalance of microorganisms in the oral cavity and gastrointestinal tract were identified as primary causes of halitosis. Dental caries, periodontal disease, xerostomia, and digestive disorders like gastritis and irritable bowel syndrome were also found to be related to the development of halitosis. Due to poor oral hygiene or antibiotic use, disruption of microbial communities can result in dysbiosis, inflammation, and halitosis. Conclusions: Halitosis is a multifactorial condition with various underlying causes, including oral and systemic diseases. Effective interventions should be tailored based on the specific etiologies and mechanisms involved. Clinical relevance: Understanding the factors contributing to halitosis is crucial for developing appropriate treatment strategies. Enhancing oral hygiene habits, using antimicrobial drugs, or administering probiotics may help regulate oral or intestinal flora, thereby improving halitosis and overall oral health. Colloidal particles, heterogeneous mixture with various organic components and continuous molecular weight (MW) distribution, is omnipresent in lake sediments and substantially influence the retention, transportation, and fate of contaminants in lake ecosystem. We sampled and extracted sedimentary colloids from different ecology regions in Taihu Lake, Jiangsu, East China, in June 2020, and they were further separated into four different particle size ranges by tangent ultrafiltration, and the properties of colloids were studied in various methods, including zeta potential analysis, transmission electron micrograph images (TEM), Fourier transformation infrared (FTIR), and 3D fluorescence. Results show that the surface of the colloids is covered with organic macromolecular substances, such as humus-like substances and protein-like substances. There were significant differences in molecular weight and fraction content of colloids in the sediments from macrophyte-dominant (MD) area and algae-dominant (AD) area in the lake. Colloids from MD area are mainly composed of humic acid, protein, and fulvic acid; the content of fulvic acid is lower than that of humic acid and protein. The humic acid exists mainly in small molecular weight (10–100 kDa), protein exists in mainly large molecular weight colloids (0.45–1 µm). Colloids from AD area are mainly composed of humic acid, and mainly distributed in the molecular weight (10 kDa–0.45 µm). The presence of humic acid inhibits effectively the agglomeration of the colloids. Especially, the stability of colloids is closely related to the molecular weight, with low molecular weight from MD area show higher stability. The existence of humic acid in colloids increases the electrostatic repulsion between colloidal particles, which can effectively inhibit the agglomeration of colloids, thus enhancing the stability of colloids. Furthermore, both monovalent and divalent electrolytes enhance colloidal aggregation, and the low-molecular-weight (LMW) colloid fraction exhibits higher stability efficiency than the high-molecular-weight (HMW) colloidal. Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is often accompanied by executive function deficits and functional alterations in sensory integration. The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between ADHD core symptoms, executive function, and sensory integration in children with ADHD. A total of 228 children with ADHD were recruited for our study. The Sensory Organization Test (SOT) and Child Sensory Integration Scale (CSIS) evaluated the sensory integration ability from lab-based and scaled-based perspectives, respectively. Three core components of executive functions (inhibition, working memory, and set-shifting) were assessed using both lab-based tests and the relevant factors from the behavior rating inventory of executive function (BRIEF). Partial correlation analysis was performed to explore the correlation of sensory integration with EF and ADHD core symptoms. Based on the observed significant correlation, bootstrap analyses were further conducted to explore the potential mediating effect of EF on the relationship between sensory integration and ADHD core symptoms. ADHD symptoms and EF were significantly correlated with CSIS scores; no factors were significantly correlated with SOT performance. In detail, the vestibular-balance score was negatively correlated with both inattention and hyperactivity/impulsivity symptoms, while the hyper-sensory and proprioception scores were negatively correlated with only inattention symptoms. For the scaled-based EF, vestibular-balance was negatively correlated with inhibition and working memory, and the hyper-sensory score was negatively correlated with shift factor. No correlation was found for the lab-based EF tests. The subsequent mediation analysis found that inhibition partially mediated the relationship between vestibular balance and hyperactivity/impulsivity symptoms. Working memory completely mediated the relationship between vestibular-balance, hyper-sensory, proprioception, and inattention symptoms. These results were well validated in an independent sample. Our present findings demonstrated that the functional alteration in basic sensory integration might be associated with impairments of executive functions and then lead to the behavioral expression of ADHD. Aims: Neuropathic pain after spinal cord injury (SCI) remains a common and thorny problem, influencing the life quality severely. This study aimed to elucidate the reorganization of the primary sensory cortex (S1) and the regulatory mechanism of the lateral parabrachial nucleus (lPBN) in the presence of allodynia or hyperalgesia after left spinal cord hemisection injury (LHS). Methods: Through behavioral tests, we first identified mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia following LHS. We then applied two‐photon microscopy to observe calcium activity in S1 during mechanical or thermal stimulation and long‐term spontaneous calcium activity after LHS. By slice patch clamp recording, the electrophysiological characteristics of neurons in lPBN were explored. Finally, exploiting chemogenetic activation or inhibition of the neurons in lPBN, allodynia or hyperalgesia was regulated. Results: The calcium activity in left S1 was increased during mechanical stimulation of right hind limb and thermal stimulation of tail, whereas in right S1 it was increased only with thermal stimulation of tail. The spontaneous calcium activity in right S1 changed more dramatically than that in left S1 after LHS. The lPBN was also activated after LHS, and exploiting chemogenetic activation or inhibition of the neurons in lPBN could induce or alleviate allodynia and hyperalgesia in central neuropathic pain. Conclusion: The neuronal activity changes in S1 are closely related to limb pain, which has accurate anatomical correspondence. After LHS, the spontaneously increased functional connectivity of calcium transient in left S1 is likely causing the mechanical allodynia in right hind limb and increased neuronal activity in bilateral S1 may induce thermal hyperalgesia in tail. With the intensification of global competition and the increasing awareness of reducing energy consumption, sustainable supplier selection is crucial for establishing a solid cooperative relationship in sustainable supply chain management. This paper proposes a new framework that considers both the effective expression of uncertain information and the objective weights of decision makers to select sustainable suppliers. We first apply an interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set to express the information of decision makers. Moreover, this paper applies a plant growth simulation algorithm to aggregate decision makers' information. Next, we adopt the similarity measure method to derive the target weight of each decision maker. Then, we apply the score function to rank the candidate sustainable suppliers. Finally, two practical cases are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed framework. The outcomes and comparative discussion show that the developed framework is efficient for sustainable supplier selection. A number of recent studies have investigated the relationship between bride prices and social development. However, there has been little empirical evidence that bride prices affect household income. Based on a unique set of bride price data from China and data from China's Labour Force Dynamic Survey (CLDS), this paper studies the effect of bride prices on rural household income. The findings show that higher bride prices can significantly reduce rural household income. For income categories, higher bride prices have a significantly negative impact on the agricultural income of rural households, while higher bride prices can boost rural households' remittance income by inducing individuals to work as migrant workers. There is a significant age difference in the impact of rural household income. The transformation of oxide nanoparticles in hot-isostatic-pressing-consolidated nickel-based oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) alloys during isothermal aging at 1000 °C for 200 h has been investigated by means of transmission electron microscope (TEM) and high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) herein. By comparing the size, phase and oxide/matrix interface structure of the oxide nanoparticles before and after the aging, the underlying reason for the changes in oxide nanoparticles is analyzed. The results show that Y3Al5O12 nanoparticles are precipitated during the long-term heat treatment, resulting in a change of composition proportion of the oxide nanoparticles. Simultaneously, more Y–Ti–O complex particles are converted into YTiO3 phase. In order to reduce the interfacial energy between particles and matrix, a small number of large and stable particles with core/shell configuration and Janus configuration are formed. It is found that the core/shell structure consists of Y2Ti2O7 as the core and Y3Al5O12 as the shell, while the Janus structure consists of Y2Ti2O7 and Al2O3. Due to the lower lattice misfit between nanoparticles and matrix, and the smaller contribution of grain boundaries and dislocations to particle coarsening, the increase in the average size of oxide nanoparticles in the nickel-based ODS alloy is small. Rationale: Ling‐Gui‐Zhu‐Gan decoction (LGZGD), one of the 100 herbal classic formulas, is clinically used to treat chronic heart failure with remarkable curative effect. However, LGZGD pharmacokinetic parameters in pathological model rats are poorly understood, in particular for special components. As physicochemical properties are specific to each representative component, no standard sample preparation is available for absolute quantification of representative components of LGZGD in rat plasma. Methods: A specific, sensitive and high‐throughput ultrahigh‐performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC/MS/MS) method capturing 24 representative components was developed and applied to evaluate the pharmacokinetic parameters of LGZGD in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) rat plasma after intragastric administration (2.4, 4.8 and 9.6 g/kg). Precipitation and extraction were selected and optimized for plasma preparation, and isopropanol precipitation could offer higher recovery and broader coverage. Results: It was expected that AMI could cause less absorption and slower elimination of most of active components of LGZGD. Most of newly reported special components absorbed quickly and eliminated slowly. The average elimination half‐life of the 24 representative components was 10.09 h, which is consistent with the dosage of LGZGD (twice daily). Conclusions: The specificity, linearity, precision and accuracy, recovery, matrix effect and stability were validated according to Food and Drug Administration guidance. The validation results demonstrated that the method could be applied to evaluate the pharmacokinetic parameters of LGZGD in AMI rats. The pharmacokinetic parameters showed substantial improvement in quality research of LGZGD, thereby laying the groundwork for preclinical and clinical trials in chronic heart failure clinical efficacy. Hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) is a typical heavy metal pollutant, making its removal from wastewater imperative. Although nanosized zero-valent iron (nZVI) and graphene-based materials are excellent remediation materials, they have drawbacks, such as agglomeration and being difficult to recycle. A facile synthesis method for decorating reduced graphene oxide (rGO) with ultrathin nZVI (within 10 nm) was explored in this study in order to develop an effective tool for Cr(VI) detoxication. Cu particles were doped in these composites for electron-transfer enhancement and were verified to improve the rate by 2.4~3.4 times. Batch experiments were conducted at different pHs, initial concentrations, ionic strengths, and humic acid (HA) concentrations. From these observations, it was found that the acid condition and appearance of Cu and rGO enhanced the treatment capacity. This procedure was fitted with a pseudo-second-order model, and the existence of NaCl and HA impeded it to some extent. Cr(VI) could be detoxified into Cr(III) and precipitated on the surface. Combining these analyses, a kinetics study, and the characterizations before and after the reaction, the removal mechanism of Cr(VI) was further discussed as a complex process involving adsorption, reduction, and precipitation. To promote the preclinical development of new treatments for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), we established NSCLC xenograft tumor assays on the chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) of chicken embryos. Five NSCLC cell lines were compared for tumor take rate, tumor growth, and embryo survival. Two of these, A549 and H460 CAM tumors, were histologically characterized and tested for susceptibility to systemic chemotherapy and gene delivery using viral vectors. All cell lines were efficiently engrafted with minimal effect on embryo survival. The A549 cells formed slowly growing tumors, with a relatively uniform distribution of cancer cells and stroma cells, while the H460 cells formed large tumors containing mostly proliferating cancer cells in a bed of vascularized connective tissue. Tumor growth was inhibited via systemic treatment with Pemetrexed and Cisplatin, a chemotherapy combination that is often used to treat patients with advanced NSCLC. Lentiviral and adenoviral vectors expressing firefly luciferase transduced NSCLC tumors in vivo. The adenovirus vector yielded more than 100-fold higher luminescence intensities after a single administration than could be achieved with multiple lentiviral vector deliveries. The adenovirus vector also transduced CAM tissue and organs of developing embryos. Adenovirus delivery to tumors was 100–10,000-fold more efficient than to embryo organs. Northeast China (NEC) is one of the most severely impacted regions by fire and biomass burning in the country. Notably, fires in this area have exhibited an increasing trend over the past decade, contrasting with the extensive pollution reduction observed in other parts of China. In this study, we combine observational data analysis and climate model simulations to demonstrate that the escalation of spring fire activities in NEC is likely induced by a decline in Bering Sea ice concentration during preceding months. This Arctic‐driven teleconnection contributes to increased temperatures and decreased precipitation in NEC through reduced vertical wind shear, anomalously northerly wind transport, and the formation of a high‐pressure center with descending airflow. These changes are conducive to fire ignition and expansion. Furthermore, this linkage may be amplified in future warmer scenarios. This mechanism holds significant implications for predicting decadal fire activity and furthering our understanding of global environmental projections. Text pre-processing is an important component of a Chinese text classification. At present, however, most of the studies on this topic focus on exploring the influence of preprocessing methods on a few text classification algorithms using English text. In this paper we experimentally compared fifteen commonly used classifiers on two Chinese datasets using three widely used Chinese preprocessing methods that include word segmentation, Chinese specific stop word removal, and Chinese specific symbol removal. We then explored the influence of the preprocessing methods on the final classifications according to various conditions such as classification evaluation, combination style, and classifier selection. Finally, we conducted a battery of various additional experiments, and found that most of the classifiers improved in performance after proper preprocessing was applied. Our general conclusion is that the systematic use of preprocessing methods can have a positive impact on the classification of Chinese short text, using classification evaluation such as macro-F1, combination of preprocessing methods such as word segmentation, Chinese specific stop word and symbol removal, and classifier selection such as machine and deep learning models. We find that the best macro-f1s for categorizing text for the two datasets are 92.13% and 91.99%, which represent improvements of 0.3% and 2%, respectively over the compared baselines. To investigate how sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) add-on therapy for metformin affects diabetic retinopathy (DR) progression in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This nationwide population-based study conducted from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2018 involved 3,432,911 adults with T2DM in Taiwan. To adjust for potential confounders, data on sex, age, income, comorbidities, diabetes complication severity index score, staging of kidney disease, anti-diabetic medications, and index year were included. The outcome was DR progression, determined by procedure codes or the addition of ICD-9-CM or ICD-10-CM codes to the medical records of the patients during the study. Sensitivity analyses were performed to validate the findings. The adjusted hazard ratio (aHR) of DR progression was 0.89 for the SGLT2is add-on group, relative to the control group [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.81–0.99, P = 0.026]. The Kaplan–Meier curve of the cumulative incidence rate showed that the cumulative incidence of DR progression was considerably decreased in the SGLT2is cohort (log-rank P = 0.0261). The use of SGLT2is for less than 1 year and 1–2 years were associated with a significant increase in the risk of DR progression (aHR 1.56 and 1.88, respectively); however, the risk markedly reduced if the SGLT2is regimen was used for more than 2 years (aHR 0.41, 95% Cl 0.35–0.48; P < 0.001). The serial sensitivity analysis showed consistent findings. The aHR of DR progression was 0.82 for the SGLT2is cohort relative to the non-SGLT2is cohort based on the fundoscopy or indirect ophthalmoscopy findings within 1 year before the outcome date (95% Cl 0.71–0.95; P = 0.009). Co-administration of metformin and SGLT2is may reduce the risk of DR progression. Organic dye pollutants have become a major concern owing to their harmful nature to the environment, and removing and separating them should be one of the best remedies. Herein, two two-dimensional (2D) Cu-based coordination polymers (CPs) [Cu(3-dpye)(OX)]n (Cu-CP-1) and [Cu(3-dpyb)(OX)]n (Cu-CP-2) [3-dpye = N,N′-bis(3-pyridinecarboxamide)-1,2-ethane, 3-dpyb = N,N′-bis(3-pyridinecarboxamide)-1,4-benzene, OX = oxalate] were successfully synthesized by tuning the secondary ligands under hydrothermal conditions and applied to selectively adsorb and photodegrade anionic dyes, such as methyl orange (MO) and Congo red (CR), from an aqueous solution. The Cu-CPs exhibited different compositions because of the different N-donor ligands, which were used as precursors for the preparation of Cu/Cu2O heterojunctions (Cu@C-1, Cu@C-2, Cu@N-1, Cu@N-2, Cu@S-1 and Cu@S-2). Doping a foreign element into the intrinsic Cu-based materials is an effective way to enhance both the adsorbing capacity and the photocatalytic activity. Benefiting from the formation of Cu/Cu2O and graphite-type carbon sheets, the maximum adsorption capacities of Cu@N-2 at room temperature are 2097.84 mg g−1 for MO and 1942.85 mg g−1 for CR in 240 min, while the photocatalytic degradation rates are 95.23% for MO and 99.25% for CR after 4 h. The aqueous Zn ion battery (ZIB) is a potentially sustainable energy storage device. However, its performance is still far from satisfactory. Herein, it is demonstrated that a branched sugar, dextran, widely used in eyedrop products to relieve irritated eyes, is a multifunctional and universal electrolyte additive to enable high‐performance ZIBs. Experimental and theoretical results reveal that dextran has four functions: forming a surface protective layer to minimize side reactions, facilitating stepwise [Zn(H2O)6]2+ desolvation, preferably adsorbing on Zn(0002) planes to supply desolvated Zn2+ and homogenizing electric field. These functions are universally observed in Zn(CF3SO3)2, ZnSO4, Zn(ClO4)2, and ZnCl2 aqueous electrolytes. As demonstrations for practical applications, Zn anodes deliver Coulombic efficiency of 99.97% after 3400 cycles in an electrolyte with 50 mg mL‒1 of dextran and cumulative plating capacity of 3400 mAh cm‒2 at 5 mA cm‒2. Zn//V2O5 full cells with a low negative/positive electrode capacity ratio of 2.18 can be stably cycled over 138 cycles at 1 A g‒1. Pouch full cells can work under mechanical bending conditions. Zn//polyaniline full cells can cycle steadily for 3000 cycles at 0.5 A g‒1 at −10 °C. Ménière's disease (MD) is associated with functional reorganization not only in the auditory or sensory cortex but also in other control and cognitive areas. In this study, we examined intranetwork and internetwork connectivity differences between 55 MD patients and 70 healthy controls (HC) in 9 well-defined resting-state networks. Functional connectivity degree was lower in MD compared to HC in 19 brain areas involved in the somatomotor, auditory, ventral attention, default mode, limbic, and deep gray matter networks. In addition, we observed lower intranetwork connectivity in the auditory, ventral attention, and limbic networks, as well as lower internetwork connectivity between the somatomotor and limbic networks, and between the auditory and somatomotor, deep gray matter, and ventral attention networks, and between the deep gray matter and default mode network. Furthermore, we identified 81 pairs of brain areas with significant differences in functional connectivity between MD patients and HC at the edge level. Notably, the left amygdala's functional connectivity degree was positively correlated with MD's disease stage, and the ventral attention network's intranetwork connectivity was positively correlated with the healthy side vestibular ratio. Our findings suggest that these functional network reorganization alterations may serve as potential biomarkers for predicting clinical progression, evaluating disease severity, and gaining a better understanding of MD's pathophysiology. Introduction: Diamond‐Blackfan anemia (DBA) is a rare congenital bone marrow failure syndrome characterized by erythroid aplasia, physical malformation, and cancer predisposition. Twenty ribosomal protein genes and three non‐ribosomal protein genes have been identified associated with DBA. Methods: To investigate the presence of novel mutations and gain a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms of disease, targeted next‐generation sequencing was performed in 12 patients with clinically suspected DBA. Literatures were retrieved with complete clinical information published in English by November 2022. The clinical features, treatment, and RPS10/RPS26 mutations were analyzed. Results: Among the 12 patients, 11 mutations were identified and 5 of them were novel (RPS19, p.W52S; RPS10, p.P106Qfs*11; RPS26, p.R28*; RPL5, p.R35*; RPL11, p.T44Lfs*40). Including 2 patients in this study, 13 patients with RPS10 mutations and 38 patients with RPS26 mutations were reported from 4 and 6 countries, respectively. The incidences of physical malformation in patients with RPS10 and RPS26 mutations (22% and 36%, respectively) were lower than the overall incidence in DBA patients (~50%). Patients with RPS26 mutations had a worse response rate of steroid therapy than RPS10 (47% vs. 87.5%), but preferred RBC transfusions (67% vs. 44%, p = 0.0253). Conclusion: Our findings add to the DBA pathogenic variant database and demonstrate the clinical presentations of the DBA patients with RPS10/RPS26 mutations. This study created a comprehensive Country Diversity Score (CDS) index to measure the degree of journal internationality from a diversity perspective, based on publishing authors' affiliation countries. It calculates CDS values and analyses their distribution across countries, publication languages, disciplines, subjects, and journal impact factor (JIF) quartiles for 11,481 journals, and addresses the correlation between CDS and JIF. Empirical studies indicate that journals with authors evenly distributed across more countries are more likely to obtain a higher CDS value. English publications have a relatively high CDS worldwide, and the non‐English publications of a country have a lower CDS than its English‐language publications. In addition, this study found a positive correlation between journal internationality and JIF in terms of the geographical distribution of publishing authors.
