The paper addresses the problem of the instant (Augenblick) from the early work of Martin Heidegger and its extension in Being and time. The persuasion that only primitive Christianity has lived an original temporality, extends in Being and time in an interpretation of the instant as integration of the past and the future. That which in Aristotle could not be constituted --the connection between kairós and výn-- finds its full disclosure in Pauline eschatology. This paper presents a state of the art, based on a documentary review of research in master's and doctoral theses, on the concept of necropolitics in Ibero-America between the years 2017-2021. The objectives that guided its realization were the following: 1) to identify the relevant trends of the studies in necropolitics, 2) to describe the new concepts that demonstrate their polysemy and 3) to discuss the ruptures and continuities from biopolitics. This review allows to conclude that the study of necropower is dynamic and works as a theory and category of analysis in the study of the different forms of violence and death, according to contemporary social sciences. Systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA) is a chronic childhood inflammatory disease. SJIA accounts for approximately 5–15 per cent of all cases of JIA and has a high morbidity and mortality rate. In this disease, pulmonary complications (PC) other than pleuritis are much less frequent and not easily recognised by clinicians. Pulmonary hypertension, the most severe PC, is associated with uncontrolled disease and use of biologic therapies. We present a case of a school-age female with sJIA who died of acute cardiopulmonary instability secondary to pulmonary venous-occlusive disease demonstrated by necropsy. We describe her clinical evolution. We also undertook a narrative review of the literature about PC in sJIA to discuss the current state of the art regarding this complication. High disease activity and the use of multiple therapies include disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs should be a red flag for clinicians when discounting PC and pulmonary hypertension. The combination of chest X-ray, electrocardiogram and echocardiogram appear to be the best tests to achieve an early diagnosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Alcestis is a dramatic play that oscillates due to its content between the definition of a tragedy and a satirical drama. This characteristic influences the matter treated by Euripides: the death of the protagonist in benefit of her husband, a situation that can be interpreted as a gratuitous act --pure love for Admetus--, or else as a result of the social condition of the main character, who comes from the ancient aristocracy and responds to the dramatic interpretation carried out in the context of Athenian democracy (438 B. In ancient Rome the ancestors, as well as keeping alive the memory of the dead among the family, were really impor tant. This was expressed through private religión, on the one hand at the home, where we find the portraits of the ancestors always present in the life of the romans, and on the other in the necropolis turned into true cities where the tombs and the inscriptions that they accompanied them were a form of commemoration to those who remained entombed there. Busy places where you can pay homage with regular offerings to the dead. The deceased became a kind of divinities or family spirits called Manes, who protected their families in Exchange for not falling into oblivion. Thus, cult of the dead was instituted, full of ceremonies, festivals, ritual sacrifices and offerings. With this work we will give an overview of death in ancient Rome based on the cult of the Manes gods, trying to investigate their origin and the importance they had within the Roman world. In ancient societies where multiple religious communities of ancient roots coexisted, the study of the interaction produced in terms of beliefs and funerary practices is of special interest. In this sense, the present work intends to study the origins of a religious motif that appears on some of the funerary assemblages of Osirian tradition in Roman Egypt, consisting of the mummification of the deceased under the sky as a mantle. The Seventh Seal tells two intertwined stories: the religious and existential crisis of an anguished medieval knight returning to his homeland after taking part in one of the last Crusades; and the story of love and hope represented by a family of strolling comedians whose involvement in the circumstances surrounding the last days of the knight's life will contribute to an interesting case of what I have called redemption by love. Introduction: Although it is known that death is part of the life cycle, in the face of a disease with many aspects still unknown, such as COVID-19, it is important to understand how nursing workers represent this phenomenon, since they are the only professionals that continue to care for the individual even after the end of life. Objective: to analyze the structure of social representations about death and dying due to COVID-19 elaborated by nursing professionals. Materials and methods: qualitative study anchored in the structural aspect of the Theory of Social Representations with emphasis on the Theory of the Central Nucleus, developed with 32 nursing professionals from the city of Natal, state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Data collection was performed online using the free word association technique. For data analysis, prototypical and similarity analyzes were used. Results: the probable central nucleus of the representations was constituted by the terms sadness and fear, and the composition of the peripheral system and the contrast zone reinforce this nucleus. Discussion: the core of nursing professionals' representations about death and dying from COVID-19 constitutes a controversial issue of representation and highlights the damage to the psychosocial health of frontline nursing workers. Conclusions: in view of the elaborated representations about death and dying resulting from COVID-19, it is necessary to develop coping strategies that contribute to the psychosocial health of nursing workers. To analyze the epidemiological aspects of deaths by suicide in a municipality on the northern coast of the state of Ceará. This is an epidemiological, documentary and retro-spective study, carried out in the city of Camocim-Ceará, about deaths by suicide that occurred between 2009 and 2019. It was evidenced that 49 deaths by suicide occurred during the studied period, where the hanging was the most used method. A predominance of male deaths was found in all years, as the majority were single and brown. As for the age group, there was a considerable number of suicides among the economically active population, with 38 cases between 20 and 39 years old. Talking about myself is an alien and questionable act, not to say complex, in various spaces and contexts in which it sometimes falls to me to do so. For this reason, in the years that I have been attending this annual meeting that is the Bordes Seminar, I have tended on several occasions to propose detours and incidents embodied in different languages than written and oral, in order to account for some ghosts that visit me from time to time. In other words, to do that which is unique to each of us, that which Artaud so accurately sentenced in El pesa nervios, that of being ¨[...] the only witness of myself¨, I have used art both scenic and, lately, the visual. But what happens when the strategy becomes silent in the face of the suffering of those who use it, as their particular way of knowing how to say becomes insufficient to channel the testimony of what happens to us. Then it is time to rehearse the afterwards, to go further. Analogously to a passing ritual, I try to proceed with the present essay, leaving behind me the (apparently) exhausted to understand and accept the future in all its possibilities and transformations. Life and death are questions that human beings face day by day and to which they try to give an answer. One of these ways is through religion, through worship. In pre-Hispanic cultures, the priest or shaman is the intermediary between the earthly and the spiritual world, his figure represents a step and play between both. Through the analysis of a work of art corresponding to the Paracas culture, a study isproposed to investigate the figure of the priest, inherited from the Chaví n culture. Depending on its degree of naturalism and iconography, we will be able to find out if the priest occupies a position closer to death and the Beyond, to the earthly world, if he embodies a duality or an intermediate place between both phenomena. Introduction: Recent research in the field of Social Sciences has shown the increase in the dynamics of drug retail in various neighborhood areas of the Greater Metropolitan Area. This scenario allows the investigation of various elements that occur within the dynamics linked to the sale and consumption of drugs, as well as the way in which these impact the communities in which they are located. Objective: Therefore, the current article aims to describe and explore two of the possible elements of the community-retail relationship: the banalization and the custom of violence, in a particular space that has been affected by the effects of drug retail for three decades: Rincón Grande in the Pavas district. Method: The methodology used is of a narrative nature, comprising a total of nine interviews and four face-to-face tours to different parts of the sector under study. Results: As a result, there are various versions of neighbors in the area that allow us to reflect on the tension between custom and the banalization of violence as an effect of the repetition of drug violence, the violent constitution of the mortified community and alternatives to resignation. Conclusion: Based on these results, it is concluded that the narrative of the interviewees presents a fluctuation between forms of banalization of violence and versions that appeal to the otherness of the situation. This article deals with different modes of convergence between the other world and the material world in the municipality of Caldas (MG). From my experience with the local population, I realized that the multiple forms of interaction between these worlds are woven into everyday life and are part of the same symbolic system, popular Catholicism. In this sense, several practices emerge that go beyond the limits of official doctrine and are not understood by people as deviations, such as blessings or divination. There are also certain agents who manifest themselves daily, such as saints, the Devil and ghosts. In this way, the proposed methodological path follows a presentation of the place, the discussion of popular Catholicism and, finally, an outline of two categories of this symbolic system, hauntings and blessings. For the outline of this work, I proposed to analyze, within this symbolic system, hauntings and blessings as emblematic categories of local popular Catholicism. Regarding the methods, I tried to use participant observation as a way of collecting relevant ethnographic data, combined with oral history, which made it possible to prepare and analyze interviews with local residents. In this article, we analyze three forensic and counter-forensic devices that go beyond the strictly medico-legal realm to show which concrete practices and truth-spots contribute to (re)constructing a public account of migrant deaths and disappearances along border zones. Drawing on written documents and semi-structured interviews, we examine operations led by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Europe and Africa, the work of the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner (PCOME) together with the NGO Colibrí Center for Human Rights in Arizona, and Forensic Oceanography's (FO) open-source investigations of shipwrecks of migrants in the Central Mediterranean Sea and the structural violence embedded in militarized border regimes. We argue that these practices constitute factualization devices, namely practices that transform lived experience of death and disappearance into an objectified reality that can be visibilized and mobilized in the public sphere as part of a counter-narrative. We demonstrate how these factualization practices are imbricated in valuation practices, i.e. practices that ascribe not only an epistemological but also an ethical, aesthetic and political value to the work of objectification, which inform the production of truth narratives. Posttraumatic growth network structures were evaluated in males and females who lost a family member to COVID-19 to determine network variations according to sex. Six hundred sixty-nine Peruvian adults (M = 25.41, SD = 1.82) were included using the Posttraumatic Growth Inventory-X (PTGI-X) self-report measure. Two Gaussian plot models of partial correlations were estimated through the qgraph statistical package. The most central network domain items were emotional expression, closeness to others, and greater understanding of life-death issues. The highest connections were reported for items on the measures of personal relationships, appreciation for life, and spiritual-existential change. Both network models were found to be invariant and showed no significant differences at the level of structure and connections, and a difference was reported at the score level on the existential-spiritual change subscale in women.
