Abstract

The article examines the war policies of the administration of U.S. President George W. Bush on Iraq and Afghanistan. On January 10, 2007, Bush announced that he will not allow U.S. forces deployed in Iraq to go home, but will increase their numbers to open political space for discussing possible political reconciliation among the country's conflicting religious sects. Meanwhile, the stay of U.S. forces in Afghanistan has been extended to fight Taliban insurgents.
