The interfacial structures and interactions of two-dimensional (2D) materials on solid substrates are of fundamental importance for the fabrication and application of 2D materials. However, selection of a suitable solid substrate to grow 2D material, determination and control of the 2D material-substrate interface remain a big challenge due to the large diversity of possible configurations. Here, we propose a computational framework to select an appropriate substrate for epitaxial growth of 2D material and to predict possible 2D material-substrate interface structures and orientations using density functional theory calculations performed for all non-equivalent atomic structures satisfying the symmetry constraints. The approach was validated by the correct prediction of three experimentally reported 2D material-substrate interface systems with only the given information of two parent materials. Several possible interface configurations are also proposed based on this approach. We therefore construct a database that contains these interface systems and has been continuously expanding. This database serves as preliminary guidance for epitaxial growth and stabilization of new materials in experiments.

In the holographic framework, we argue that the partial entanglement entropy (PEE) can be explicitly interpreted as the component flow flux in a locking bit thread configuration. By applying the locking theorem of bit threads, and constructing a concrete locking scheme, we obtain a set of uniquely determined component flow fluxes from this viewpoint, and successfully derive the PEE proposal and its generalized version in the multipartite cases. Moreover, from this perspective of bit threads, we also present a coherent explanation for the coincidence between the BPE (balanced partial entanglement)/EWCS (entanglement wedge cross section) duality proposed recently and the EoP (entanglement of purification)/EWCS duality. The atomic-level vdW heterostructures have been one of the most interesting quantum material systems, due to their exotic physical properties. The interlayer coupling in these systems plays a critical role to realize novel physical observation and enrich interface functionality. However, there is still lack of investigation on the tuning of interlayer coupling in a quantitative way. A prospective strategy to tune the interlayer coupling is to change the electronic structure and interlayer distance by high pressure, which is a well-established method to tune the physical properties. Here, we construct a high-quality WS2/MoSe2 heterostructure in a DAC and successfully tuned the interlayer coupling through hydrostatic pressure. Typical photoluminescence spectra of the monolayer MoSe2 (ML-MoSe2), monolayer WS2 (ML-WS2) and WS2/MoSe2 heterostructure have been observed and it's intriguing that their photoluminescence peaks shift with respect to applied pressure in a quite different way. The intralayer exciton of ML-MoSe2 and ML-WS2 show blue shift under high pressure with a coefficient of 19.8 meV/GPa and 9.3 meV/GPa, respectively, while their interlayer exciton shows relative weak pressure dependence with a coefficient of 3.4 meV/GPa. Meanwhile, external pressure helps to drive stronger interlayer interaction and results in a higher ratio of interlayer/intralayer exciton intensity, indicating the enhanced interlayer exciton behavior. The first-principles calculation reveals the stronger interlayer interaction which leads to enhanced interlayer exciton behavior in WS2/MoSe2 heterostructure under external pressure and reveals the robust peak of interlayer exciton. We study the quench dynamics of non-Hermitian topological models with non-Hermitian skin effects. Adopting the non-Bloch band theory and projecting quench dynamics onto the generalized Brillouin zone, we find that emergent topological structures, in the form of dynamic skyrmions, exist in the generalized momentum-time domain, and are correlated with the non-Bloch topological invariants of the static Hamiltonians. The skyrmion structures anchor on the fixed points of dynamics whose existence are conditional on the coincidence of generalized Brillouin zones of the pre- and post-quench Hamiltonians. Global signatures of dynamic skyrmions, however, persist well beyond such a condition, thus offering a general dynamic detection scheme for non-Bloch topology in the presence of non-Hermitian skin effects. Applying our theory to an experimentally relevant, non-unitary quantum walk, we explicitly demonstrate how the non-Bloch topological invariants can be revealed through the non-Bloch quench dynamics., Comment: 11 pages, 6 figures

We investigate the relations between bit thread, entanglement distillation and entanglement of purification in the holographic framework. Specifically, we give a bit thread interpretation for the one-shot entanglement distillation (OSED) tensor network, which can be understood as reconstructing the geometric structure of the bulk spacetime from the entanglement information of the boundary quantum system through the "surface growth scheme". Moreover, by showing that the holographic entanglement of purification (EoP) process can be regarded as a special case of our "surface growth scheme", we naturally obtain the bit thread interpretation of the holographic EoP in our framework, which turns out to be different from the existing interpretations. Since our interpretation for holographic EoP is obtained in a more general and physical framework, the advantage of our version is that it is more natural, and possibly more reasonable to reflect the real physical entanglement structures., Comment: 28 pages,10 figures

We study the fate of an impurity in a two-component, non-interacting Fermi gas under a non- Hermitian spin-orbit coupling (SOC) which is generated by dissipative Raman lasers. While SOC mixes the two spin species in the Fermi gas thus modifies the single-particle dispersions, we consider the case where the impurity only interacts with one of the spin species. As a result, spectral properties of the impurity constitute an ideal probe to the dissipative Fermi gas in the background. In particular, we show that dissipation destabilizes polarons in favor of molecular formation, consistent with previous few-body studies. The dissipative nature of the Fermi gas further leads to broadened peaks in the inverse radio-frequency spectra for both the attractive and repulsive polaron branches, which could serve as signals for experimental observation. In a recent paper, a novel surface growth approach for reconstructing bulk geometry and matter fields was proposed, it was shown that this picture can be explicitly realized by the one-shot entanglement distillation tensor network and the surface state correspondence. In the present paper, we give direct analysis for the growth of the bulk minimal surfaces in asymptotically AdS 3 spacetime and show that bulk geometry can be efficiently reproduced in this way, which provides further support for the surface growth approach in entanglement wedge reconstruction.
