Abstract

A 17-year-old girl receiving high-dose methotrexate for the treatment of osteosarcoma developed complications of acute renal failure and liver dysfunction with a coagulation disorder. The methotrexate concentrations were quickly reduced from 600 [micro]mol/L to 50 [micro]mol/L by treatment with plasma exchange and hemodialysis at 72 hours after discontinuation of the drug. After this reduction, continuous hemodiafiltration was initiated to further lower the methotrexate concentrations because of the persistently high and then the actual rebound in the plasma concentrations after plasma exchange and hemodialysis treatment. Continuous hemodiafiltration was able to reduce the concentrations without any rebound, despite its low column clearance. Abstract

For advanced devices at 65 nm node and beyond, nickel silicide formed by depositing Ni or its alloys with subsequent annealing has been chosen as the source/drain and gate contact materials. An in-situ dry chemical cleaning technology (Siconi ) has been developed to be integrated with PVD nickel deposition, thus forming a defect-free silicide/Si interface. Queue time related surface contamination and defects caused by using wet (HF) chemical cleaning are thus eliminated. The dry and wet etch methods are compared in this paper in terms of the film Rs, microstructure and thermal stability, as well as the line width effects measured on test wafers.

184. Emergency medical service systems in Japan : Past, present, and future

type:text, crews become more sophisticated. A marked increase in the recent volume of emergency calls is another issue of concern. Currently, private services for transportation of non-acute or minor injury/illness have been introduced in some areas, and dispatch protocols to triage 199 calls are in development., Emergency medical services are provided by the fire defense headquarter of the local government in Japan. We have a one-tiered EMS system. The ambulance is staffed by three crews trained in rescue, stabilization, transportation, and advanced care of traumatic and medical emergencies. There are three levels of care provided by ambulance personnel including a basic-level ambulance crew (First Aid Class one, FAC-1), a second level (Standard First Aid Class, SFAC), and the highest level (Emergency Life Saving Technician, ELST). ELSTs are trained in all aspects of BLS and part of ALS procedures relevant to prehospital emergency care.
