Objectives: To review the diagnosis and treatment of ureteroarterial fistulas and to develop a management algorithm. Long-term ureteral stenting, along with pelvic surgery and radiotherapy, have led to an increased incidence of ureteroarterial fistulas. Experience diagnosing and treating these fistulas has been limited to case reports., Methods: A retrospective chart review from 1975 to 2004 revealed eight ureteroarterial fistulas in 7 patients at our institution. The patient demographics, presenting symptoms, and diagnostic studies were reviewed. Also, we analyzed the treatment, hospital course, and long-term outcomes., Results: Ureteroarterial fistulas were more common in women (86%) than in men. All patients presented with gross hematuria, and 57% had lateralizing flank pain. Risk factors included chronic indwelling stents (87%), previous pelvic external beam radiotherapy (71%), pelvic surgery (100%), and vascular disease (87%). Provocative angiography was diagnostic in only 63% of cases. Although not sensitive, cystoscopy revealed lateralized, pulsatile hematuria in all cases when performed. Treatment ranged from endovascular stenting with nephrostomy tube to primary surgical repair with nephrectomy., Conclusions: On the basis of this review, we propose a systematic diagnostic and treatment approach to a serious disease process. The use of these proposed algorithms will minimize unnecessary testing, increase the speed of diagnosis, and potentially improve overall outcomes of patients with ureteroarterial fistulas.

Causes of gross hematuria in a patient with end-stage renal disease are limited compared with those in patients with normal renal function. Given the increased likelihood of patients with end-stage renal disease developing renal cell carcinoma, the workup focuses on a careful evaluation of the collecting system. The workup for gross hematuria in a renal transplant recipient is similar; however, the focus shifts toward a more thorough evaluation of the transplanted kidney and bladder because immunosuppression increases the overall risk for malignancy. An immunosuppressed patient also is at risk for infectious processes in the transplanted kidney manifesting as gross hematuria. Concerns for chronic rejection also should be investigated, although microscopic hematuria is more common in this scenario. If this is unrevealing, then close scrutiny of the native kidneys for possible sources of bleeding is warranted. We present an interesting and unusual cause of painless gross hematuria in a patient with end-stage renal disease and transplant nephrectomy 3 months before the onset of bleeding.

Percutaneous closure of a calyceal fistula following partial nephrectomy for kidney cancer was achieved with fistula embolization with n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate. Previous attempts at closure by conservative and endoscopic means were unsuccessful. Tissue adhesives are useful in the management of persistent urinary leakage after partial nephrectomy.

Fistulas between the orthotopic reservoir and the gastrointestinal tract have low incidence (1.5-2%). Simptomatology is variable, but it's frecuent to find fecaluria. Among 90 new intestinal bladders we show two fistule of new bladder to ileo, with nest postoperatory diagnosis, using retrograde cystografy; one was resolved with next postoperative treatment and the other with open surgery.

Introduction: The incidence of urological complications after kidney transplantation varies from 3% to 14%, with a probable loss of the graft in 10% to 15% of cases and a mortality rate of up to 15%, despite improvements in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment as well as the use of new immunosuppressive therapies. Urinous fistulae, which are considered early complications of transplantation, are due to ischemic damage or necrosis generally occurring in the distal third of the ureter. Preservation of accessory arteries to the lower portion of the kidney is important, as they may constitute the blood supply of this segment of the collecting system or ureter. Their ligation may lead to necrosis and urinary fistulae. Ureteral stenosis, as late complication, is related to a pathology of the ureter itself, to infections, to abscesses, to fibrosis, and to ischemia. An early endoscopic approach permits resolution in 70% of cases. The aim of this retrospective study was to determine incidence and treatment of these complications., Materials and Methods: From 1991 to 2004 we performed 453 kidney transplantations both from cadaveric and living donors. In 199 patients we performed a transvesical ureteroneocystostomy (UNCS), and in 260, an extravesical UNCS., Results: The nine patients who showed fistulae (1.9%) underwent surgical treatment. In eight we used a direct ureteral reimplantation, and in one, a Boari flap technique. Nephrectomy was necessary in four patients, including two who died of septic complications. In all 26 cases of ureteral stenosis (5.6%), we used an endourological approach (anterograde or retrograde), with surgical treatment afterward in 11 patients (42%) nine direct reimplants, one anastomosis to the native ureter (transplantation from a living donor), and in one case a Boari flap technique four patients who underwent surgical treatment showed progressive damage to graft function., Conclusions: In all patients who showed fistulae we suggest surgical review: for patients with ureteral stenosis, we suggest first an endourological approach and only when it is not successful do we consider surgical treatment.

Background and Purpose: Urinary-tract fistulas present unique clinical challenges that often necessitate open surgical excision with interposition of healthy tissue. Advances in retrograde instrumentation have enabled endourologists to employ more minimally invasive approaches to urologic disease, including fistulas. We reviewed our experience with endoscopic injection of fibrin glue for the treatment of urinary-tract pathology., Patients and Methods: We performed a retrospective review of the eight patients at our institution who have undergone retrograde endoscopic injection of fibrin glue for the treatment of urinary-tract pathology. The data collected included age, presentation, treatment technique, method/duration of follow-up, complications, and success, which was defined as subjective and objective resolution of the treated pathology., Results: One of these patients was treated for a caliceal diverticulum refractory to percutaneous ablation. The other seven patients were treated for fistulas, including one colovesical fistula, two vesicovaginal fistulas, one ileal conduit-cutaneous fistula, one ureterocutaneous fistula, one urethrocutaneous fistula, and one ureterorectal fistula. All lesions except the urethrocutaneous fistula and the ureterorectal fistula were treated with a single injection of fibrin glue. At a mean follow-up of 11.75 months, this technique was successful in six cases (75%). Two (33%) of the successfully treated patients required two injections. There were no complications. Failures were apparent at initial follow-up., Conclusion: Retrograde endoscopic injection of fibrin glue offers a novel approach to ablation of caliceal diverticula. Additionally, although open surgical excision of urinary-tract fistulae remains the gold standard treatment, endoscopic injection of fibrin glue offers a safe, minimally invasive approach that may avoid the morbidity of open surgery in such challenging patients.

Fistulas of the lower urinary tract are uncommon conditions that may occur spontaneously or after therapy in patients with various pelvic abnormalities. When present, these fistulas are associated with urine leakage, which is often socially distressing and disabling. Unfortunately, factors that lead to the formation of genitourinary fistulas often increase their complexity or preclude surgical repair. A high failure rate is associated with surgical repair, and many patients are not optimal surgical candidates. For such patients, a percutaneous treatment approach is highly desirable. Percutaneous ureteral occlusion combined with insertion of a functioning nephrostomy tube allows complete diversion of urine in those patients in whom nephrostomy alone does not provide adequate relief. Many approaches to percutaneous ureteral occlusion have been used with variable success, including coils and gelatin sponge, isobutyl-2-cyanoacrylate, detachable balloons, radiofrequency electrocautery, ureteral clipping, and solid and soft polymer agents. Furthermore, percutaneous or retrograde ureteral stents may be used to preserve antegrade urine flow, and surgical options are also available. It is essential that the interventional radiologist involved in the care of these patients be familiar with these different techniques as well as with the limitations, pitfalls, and possible complications of their use., (Copyright RSNA, 2004.)

Objectives: Access to complex urinary tract pathology may require supracostal access placing patients at risk for intrathoracic complications. Our objective was to retrospectively review our experience with percutaneous renal surgery with a particular emphasis on identifying the incidence of nephropleural fistula and management of this unusual complication., Methods: The records of 375 consecutive patients who underwent percutaneous renal surgery between 1993 and 2001 were reviewed. Supracostal access was placed to address the intrarenal pathologic findings most directly in 120 (26.0%) of the 462 tracts, with 87 (18.8%) above the 12th rib, 32 (6.9%) above the 11th rib, and 1 (0.2%) above the 10th rib., Results: Of 375 patients, 4 (1%) developed a nephropleural fistula. Of the 87 with supracostal-12th rib access, 2 (2.3%) developed a nephropleural fistula, and 2 (6.3%) of the 32 with supracostal-11th rib access developed the same complication. The overall incidence of nephropleural fistulas in our patient population per access tract placed was 0.87% (4 of 462 percutaneous tracts), which increased to 3.3% (4 of 120) when considering only supracostal access. All patients were treated conservatively, although 1 patient required thoracoscopy with decortication for persistent pleural effusion. No further sequelae developed in any of the other 3 patients, and all fistulas had resolved at 3 months of follow-up., Conclusions: As aggressive percutaneous renal surgery with supracostal access to the collecting system becomes more common, the incidence of intrathoracic complications, including nephropleural fistula, may increase. Early recognition and management of a pleural injury is critical to avoid life-threatening situations. Low-morbidity measures are typically successful; however, more aggressive treatment may be required on occasion.

Pseudoaneurysm of the internal pudendal artery or its branches is a rare complication of pelvic trauma. It generally causes arteriocavernosal fistula leading to priapism. Connection between the urethra and the pseudoaneurysm has been documented in a few cases; however, pseudoaneurysm causing a urethral pseudodiverticulum has not been reported. We report a 7-year-old boy with a pseudoaneurysm of the bulbourethral branch of the left internal pudendal artery leading to a urethral pseudodiverticulum.

Formation of an artery-to-ureter fistula (AUF) is a rare event caused by pelvic surgery or ureteral instrumentation. This presentation details the unique occurrence and treatment of simultaneous bilateral iliac artery-to-ureter fistulae. A 55-year-old man developed significant arterial hemorrhage during ureteral stent removal initially from the right and, subsequently, from the left side. Following expedient ureteral balloon tamponade, endovascular management via femoral approach with vein-covered stents was successful for each fistula without adverse long-term effects. Endoluminal therapy using autologous tissue-covered stents represents a simple, yet durable, treatment option in these challenging cases.

Caliceal fistula is a rare complication after renal transplant and may lead to graft failure. We present a case of complex caliceal-cutaneous and caliceal-peritoneal fistula in a renal transplant patient who was successfully managed conservatively.

A 71-year-old woman who had undergone a total abdominal hysterectomy and pelvic irradiation for cervical cancer and fecal diversion for adhesive ileus was referred to us for a "left" ureteral stone and intermittent gross hematuria. Bilateral ureteral stents had been indwelled because of lower ureteral strictures for a long time. Hematuria continued after the removal of the ureteral stone, and she once went into hypovolemic shock at the time of exchange of the right ureteral catheter. Selective arteriography revealed a "right" ueteroarterial fistula. Endovascular management alone failed to resolve the fistula, but a subsequent transurethral metal coil embolization was effective, and the hematuria was relieved. She is still free from disease at 7-month followup. As far as we know, there has been no previous report of a transurethrally managed ureteroarterial fistula.

Background: Calyceal fistulas are common and difficult to treat after surgery of urinary collecting system., Methods: A 30-year old woman. The fifth day after receiving a cadaver donor renal allograft presented an acute rejection episode; fourteen days later presented an urinoma treated with a percutaneous drainage tube. Five days later surgical exploration was made, lower pole infarction and ischemic necrosis of distal ureter were found. Parcial nephrectomy and neo-ureterovesical anastomosis were performed. Later, an inferior calyceal fistula was evidenced, persisting during several weeks in spite of a percutaneous drainage tube. Under fluoroscopic guidance the fistulous tract was embolized with N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate., Results: The fluoroscopic control confirmed the total closure of the fistula. After 22 months no reappearance of the fistula, no stenosis has been shown at this level., Conclusions: This is a useful technique for the treatment of calyceal fistulas. This is the first time that N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate is use in the treatment of a calyceal fistula.

Uro-intestinal fistula is a rare entity and mostly managed by means of surgical intervention. We report a case of pyelo-duodenal fistula which was treated conservatively.

Ureteral-arterial fistulas are rare causes of intermittent and often massive hematuria. We report the case of a patient presenting with massive hematuria and shock caused by a ureteral-iliac fistula initially treated with a covered endovascular stent graft. Eight months after deployment, the stent occluded, and the patient required a femoral-femoral bypass. This is the first known case of endovascular stent graft occlusion when used for this purpose.

Chyluria is the passage of chyle into the urine giving it a typical milky appearance, it's due to a communication between lymphatic and urinary system. Filariasis is the most frequent cause of chyluria. Considering the infrequency of chyluria in our environment, a literature review is made, explaining the most frequent etiological data, as well as clinical signs, diagnostic means, conservative and surgical procedures in the treatment of this process.

The urinary fistulas are not a frequent problem in our urological rutinary work, being the vesicovaginal ones the most common. However, it will be necessary to know them to be able to diagnose and treat them in the best way. In this article we classificate the different urinary fistulas (uro-gynecologicals, uro-vasculars, uro-cutaneous and entero-urinarys), explaining the possible etiologies and the correct management.

Objective: To determine the clinical characteristics and management of urinary tract injuries incidental to gynecologic surgery., Methods: During the study period from Jan. 1, 1990 to Dec. 31, 2001, forty-two patients with urinary tract injuries in gynecologic surgery were analyzed retrospectively focusing on type and time of injury, diagnostic methods and managements of urinary fistula., Results: Forty-two urological injuries were incurred during the performance of 12 849 gynecologic surgical procedures, an incidence of 0.33% including of 11 ureteral injuries and 31 bladder injuries, an incidence of 0.09% and 0.24% respectively. Of the 11 ureteral injuries 5 occurred in the lower ureter, 4 occurred at the level of vecical entrance and 2 were in the region of the infundibulopelvic ligaments. Of the bladder injuries, all 31 occurred at the bottom or back of the bladder. Urinary tract injury was made intraoperatively in 32 patients (76%) and made postoperatively in 10 patients (24%). Urinary fistulae occurred in 14 patients (33%). Ten patients with urinary fistulae were diagnosed by comparing the concentration of electrolyte, urea nitrogen and creatine in drainage fluid with those in urine and blood. Infusion of methylene blue and/or cystoscopy were checked in 9 patients and 4 bladder fistulae were found positive results. All 8 ureteral fistulae were diagnosed by intravenous pyelography. An appropriate repair during operation, putting the double J-catheter and/or catheterization was useful. Forty-one patients were healed., Conclusion: Most of urinary tract injuries in gynecologic surgery had optimal results when they were diagnosed early and managed correctly.

The aim of this article is to review the radiological management of complications following renal transplant.

Objective: To study pathogeny, diagnosis and treatment of ureter fistula after renal transplantation., Methods: The clinical data from 30 cases after renal transplantations were analyzed., Results: Four patients received conservative treatment, and 2 repairment of the fistula. Eleven patients had resection of the ureter or adjustment of the kidney, followed by the anastomosis of the ureter and bladder again. After the turning of the bladder's lamella, 13 patients were given 20 - 24 Foley's tube connecting the pelvis and bladder and nine of them were not subjected to re-anastomosis waiting for the pelvis crawling to the bladder as a tunnel. The one-year survival rates for 30 cases and kidneys was 96.7% (29/30) and 86.7% (26/30) respectively., Conclusions: There a lot of causes for ureter which are fistula, running related to every aspect of transplantation. Early diagnosis and treatment is important to prognosis. Most patients need reanastomosis. According to the blood stream, edema, length of the ureter, operative procedures are selected to ensure free of strain.

Background: Urinary tract complications in Crohn's disease are common but treatable, and often present diagnostic and therapeutic dilemmas., Purpose: To determine the incidence of urinary tract complications in patients with Crohn's disease in Israel and to report an experience over 15 years of patients with Crohn's disease, with the aim of illustrating the diverse patterns of presentation, and thereby broadening the approach to diagnosis and treatment., Methodology: Clinical and radiological findings of 312 patients with Crohn's disease were reviewed., Results: Simple cystitis was the most common problem, occurring in 51 patients. The problem seldom required hospitalization and was instead managed in the ambulatory setting. A review revealed that 22 patients with urinary tract complications required hospitalization. Six patients had ileovesical fistulas. In one patient, the colon was also affected. In another patient, radiological and endoscopic studies failed to identify the fistula, which was confirmed during surgery. All six patients were treated surgically. Four patients had ureteral obstructions and hydronephrosis, three of whom responded well to conservative treatment. In one patient, the affected ileal segment was resected. Four patients suffered from retroperitoneal abscess accompanied by urinary symptoms. Twelve patients developed right kidney stones. All of the patients suffered from long-standing Crohn's disease with bowel resection. Surprisingly, most of the severe complications occurred in men, although 70% of the patients were women., Conclusions: Based on these findings, urological complications are not rare in patients with Crohn's disease, and necessitate a high degree of diligence and periodic urological evaluation.

Fistula formation between a ureteral branch of a renal artery and the ipsilateral ureter is rare. We describe a case that followed ureterolithotomy of an impacted stone. Selective angiography with embolization of the bleeding branch was curative.

A 73-year-old woman underwent a pelvic exenteration for transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder and radiation-induced rectovaginal fistula. The patient had undergone radical hysterectomy and radiotherapy for cervical cancer 30 years earlier. Fifteen months after the operation, she suffered from ureteroaortic fistula, which was controlled by intraluminal ureteral occlusion using Gianturco coils. During 53 months of follow up, she has been free of hemorrhagic episodes.

Two patients with the rare entity of arterio-ureteral fistula are presented. Both highlight the predisposing factors of radiation, major surgery in the region, history of vascular surgery and presence of double-J-stent. Both patients presented with the clinical sign of intermittent gross hematuria. Both patients were successfully treated by endovascular intervention using graft covered stent.

A 32-year-old woman presented to us with complaints of paradoxical incontinence for a period of 6 months following a cesarean section for obstructed labor performed elsewhere and subsequently treated elsewhere. Clinical and urographic assessment revealed an iatrogenic ureterouterine fistula, which was successfully treated endoscopically by dilatation of the ureteral stricture and ureteroscopic double-J stenting. It had been explained to the patient, and she had given consent for, ureteroneocystostomy in the event of failure. The literature regarding the management of this rare genitourinary fistula is reviewed and discussed.

Once previously attempted conservative maneuvers have failed, iatrogenic persistent urinary fistulas usually require difficult repeated operations. We describe 3 patients in whom cyanoacrylic glue was used to repair endoscopically persistent urinary fistulas occurring after major pelvic surgery. At a mean follow-up of 21 months, all patients were free of urinary leakage and had no evidence of recurrent urinary fistulas. This approach may represent a safe and effective way to repair postoperative urinary fistulas.

Presentation of case of patient with macroscopic anemic hematuria caused for the presence of a fistula between the external iliac artery and the ureter. After the diagnosis, a treatment with endovascular mangement was made. The arterioureteral fistulae are a very rare entie, which supposes a vital emergency. The diagnosis depend upon the clinical evidences (complementary explorations rarely provide specific findings). Classic treatment is bases on open surgery, while endovascular treatment may be an alternative with less aggressiveness.

Uretero-arterial fistulas are exceptional complications: only about forty cases have been reported in the literature. The authors report new two cases of fistula between the common iliac artery and the ureter. One fistula occurred in a context of prolonged ureteric stenting after radiotherapy and pelvic surgery for cancer of the uterus, and the other occurred after an aorto-bifemoral allograft. These fistulas generally occur in a particular clinical context, associating several aetiological factors. The clinical presentation is dominated by often massive and intermittent haematuria. The most useful diagnostic examinations are retrograde ureteropyelography and arteriography. The proposed treatment options (nephrectomy, vascular bypass graft and even embolization) depend on the urgency of the situation and involve both the blood vessel and the urinary tract. The prognosis depends on early diagnosis, but preventive measures can be envisaged to decrease the risk of appearance of these fistulas in high-risk patients.

Eleven cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the prostate have been previously reported in the Japanese medical literature. Patients with this type of carcinoma have dismal prognoses. Herein, we report a case in a 61-year-old man who was admitted to our hospital and whose chief complaints were dysuria and high fever. Pyuria, bacteriuria, and the results of a digital rectal examination suggested acute prostatitis. Despite the administration of antibiotics, the dysuria did not improve. A transrectal needle biopsy was performed, and histology of the tissue showed squamous cell carcinoma. After chemotherapy using methotrexate, pirarubicin, and cisplatin, total pelvic excentration was performed. At 12 months after the operation, the patient is alive with no evidence of the disease.

A 35-year-old woman who underwent partial nephrectomy had prolonged postsurgical urinary extravasation that led to a percutaneous fistula. A double-J catheter used as a ureteral stent during surgery was in place. A percutaneous pigtail nephrostomy was inserted on the 15th postoperative day but drainage continued. Antegrade pyelography demonstrated extravasation at the lower pole calyx. The double-J stent was removed on the 21st postoperative day, and a retrograde pyelogram showed no obstruction. Because drainage still was excessive on the 25th postoperative day, the fistula tract was embolized percutaneously with N-butyl cyanoacrylate, a tissue adhesive material. Drainage ceased immediately after the procedure, and control pyelography confirmed no extravasation. The patient was discharged on the 28th postoperative day. The patient had no additional complications at 36-month follow-up.

Nephrocutaneous fistulas are rare complications of blunt or penetrating renal trauma. The majority are managed conservatively, some may require percutaneous drainage or ureteral stenting and some require operative intervention. Diversion of the urine by a ureteral stent usually aids in the healing of the fistula. We present an unusual case of nephrocutaneous fistula following blunt renal trauma which persisted as long as a stent was in place but healed immediately after the stent was removed.

Purpose: Urinary fistula after treatment for cancer constitutes a therapeutic dilemma, especially in patients who have had various other treatments. We report on 7 patients with urinary leakage, treated conservatively with ureteric occlusion by way of percutaneous transrenal balloon catheters., Materials and Methods: The indication for ureteral occlusion was persisting urinary leakage despite diversion by nephrostomy and drainage with atransurethral catheter. All patients had had previous treatment because of pelvic malignancy. Small Foley balloon catheters and angioplasty catheters were used. These devices were inserted percutaneously in an antegrade fashion., Results: In all but 2 of the patients the leakage ceased with the aid of these devices. Insufficient ureteral occlusion necessitated unilateral uretero-cutaneostomy in 1 patient. In another patient a vesico vaginal fistula was closed surgically. The maximum duration of occlusion was 169 (mean 94, range 45-169) days, without any evidence of ureteric pressure necrosis. Despite good overall results many adjustments and replacements of catheters were necessary because of recurrent urinary leakage caused by inadequate obstruction and/or leakage of the occluding catheters., Conclusions: We conclude that long-term ureteral occlusion with percutaneous transrenal balloon catheters appears to be safe and does not result in pressure necrosis. Using this approach, urinary fistula can heal in some patients without the need for open surgery.

Purpose: Historically, aggressive surgical exploration of renal fistulae has been associated with a 20% nephrectomy rate. We evaluated the role of minimally invasive techniques in the management of urinary fistulae., Materials and Methods: A retrospective review identified 10 renal fistulae in nine patients. Six renal-cutaneous, two renal-colonic, and two renal-pleural fistulae were referred for evaluation and treatment., Results: Five men and four women (mean age 54 years, range 32-76) were referred to the University of California, San Francisco Urinary Stone Center from 1988 to 1996. Of the six renal-cutaneous fistulae, four were spontaneous and two were iatrogenic. The iatrogenic fistulae occurred after an open pyelolithotomy (1) and a renal exploration performed after extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (1). The spontaneous fistulae resulted from obstructing calyceal calculi (2), infundibular stenosis (1), and obstructed nephrostomy tube (1). The two renal-colonic fistulae resulted from percutaneous nephrolithotomies, and the two renal-pleural fistulae developed after renal surgery. Eight of 10 fistulae resolved with minimally invasive endoscopic techniques and relief of urinary obstruction. One nephrectomy was performed for a small nonfunctioning kidney after failed open pyelolithotomy. One patient refused all treatment and the fistula resolved spontaneously., Conclusions: Conservative management of both spontaneous and iatrogenic renal fistulae is possible by relieving urinary obstruction and using minimally invasive endoscopic techniques. Low nephrectomy rates can be expected using these methods.

We report the management of a nephroenteric fistula with percutaneous fulguration in a patient with recurrent pyelonephritis and urolithiasis. A nephrostogram at 6 weeks and retrograde pyelogram at 18 weeks after fulguration showed no evidence of a recurrent fistula. We believe this to be the first reported case of a nephroenteric fistula treated successfully with fulguration.

Objective: Our purpose was to study aetiopathogenic, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of ureterovaginal fistulas., Study Design: A retrospective study concerned 10 ureterovaginal fistulas. The main causes were gyneacoligical and obstetrical procedures. The diagnosis was based on clinical considerations and intravenous pyelography in all cases. Various therapeutic methods were used: Fistulas has managed in three cases by ureteroneocystostomy. Five cases were managed with ipsilateral ureteroureterostomy, the segment of ureter below the fistula was identified using ureteroscopic perforation of this segment in three cases. In one case the fistula was successfully managed by ureteroscopic placement of ureteral stent. In case whose fistula was developed after cancer pelvic we choice abstention., Results: Late radiology showed success of the procedure in 7 patients and persistance of hypotony in 2 cases treated by u reteroneocystostomy., Conclusion: Ureterofistula is rare, but a relative frequent complication of pelvic surgery whose prevention is the most efficient treatment. Ureteroureterostomy is a good procedure when ureteroscopy is performed.

Ureteroarterial fistulas, although rare, appear to be increasing in frequency. Because open surgical repair may be difficult and associated with significant risk for complications, endovascular intervention may provide an attractive treatment alternative. We review the diagnosis and management of a ureteroarterial fistula and iliac pseudoaneurysm that presented with massive hematuria during ureteral stent removal. The patient was treated by means of the percutaneous embolization of the right hypogastric artery and placement of an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene stent-graft. Endovascular stent-graft placement may serve as a safe and practical alternative in the treatment of these patients, whose cases are challenging.

Development of urinoma is an unusual complication following kidney biopsy. We describe one such case who was managed successfully by ultrasound guided percutaneous catheter drainage.
