On the basis of cadre management business requirements analysis in colleges and universities, this paper designed and developed one colleges and universities cadres management system with a set of user management, cadres management, cadres ability evaluation and system management based on J2EE platform colleges and universities management system cadres solutions. The system finished college cadre ability qualitative analysis and quantitative evaluation by the method of fuzzy comprehensive judgment. The evaluation result provides decision support for leaders' choice, which truly realized the transformation from "restraining" to "digital speak". This method is scientific, reasonable, and is a good way in cadre evaluation area for reference and popularization. I. THE INTRODUCTION

Since different kinds of home network technologies coexist, seamless connections between different kinds of network protocols are essential for home computing environments. Several kinds of home network middleware have been developed and OSGi(Open Service Gateway Initiative) was initiated mainly for interoperability support with service distribution between various middleware environments. Framework, OSGi service platform, has weaknesses of passive service bundle management, user management and device management. Therefore, this paper resolves passive management parts which are critical weaknesses of OSGi Specification Version 3 and proposes SBM (Service Bundle Manager) to effiently manage various service bundles. Additionally, we verify practical effects of SBM through experiments.

Product data management (PDM) and distributed product data management (DPDM) systems have made product data a valuable and available commodity for many different kinds of computing applications in production. However, there are worries that this product data will lead to new security risks, and to the invasion of the DPDM system. It is because all people in a manufacturing enterprise will somehow get in touch with the DPDM system. Dealing with these tremendous amounts of interaction between the system and the various users, the utmost importance is to ensure that all data are secured and all users are under controlled and managed. Therefore, the security of DPDM system has been of great concern to individuals and corporations. The paper discusses the security requirements faced by a DPDM system in different organizational contexts. It is argued that access control requires a workspace stratified user management security model to specify. The prominent supporting features of the system including user organization, workspace and security are outlined. A new mixed approach access model for the system is proposed. In this model, user management and two main classical access control methods, the Lampson's access matrix and Bell and LaPadula (BLP) security labels, are analyzed and adapted to the application with multiple system user and product data in order to support a workspace-oriented DPDM system.

This article aims to gain a greater understanding of relevant and successful methods of stimulating an ICT culture and skills development in rural areas. The paper distils good practice activities, utilizing criteria derived from a review of the rural dimensions of ICT learning, from a range of relevant initiatives and programmes. These good practice activities cover: community resource centres providing opportunities for ‘tasting’ ICTs; video games and Internet Cafés as tools removing ‘entry barriers’; emphasis on ‘user management’ as a means of creating ownership; service delivery beyond fixed locations; use of ICT capacities in the delivery of general services; and selected use of financial support.

Under a shared campus cluster model, with many different investing research groups, and annual new cluster acquisitions, constantly adding and removing students and collaborators from resources owned by partner faculty, campus IT staff set out to design a cluster management solution to empower faculty to manage access to their purchased resources. This system needed to also allow IT staff to quickly provision resources, provide accurate accounting and tracking of faculty purchases over time, and provide one location for data about the cluster program.This paper describes the applications developed to empower faculty to directly grant and remove access to their resources and improve the ability of IT staff to provision, track, and manage these resources.

Learning analytics (LA) is often considered as a means to improve learning and learning environments by measuring student behaviour, analysing the tracked data and acting upon the results. The use of LA tools implies recording and processing of student activities conducted on software platforms. This paper proposes a flexible, contextual and intuitive way to provide the teacher with full control over student activity tracking in online learning environments. We call this approach AngeLA, inspired by an angel guarding over LA privacy. AngeLA mimics in a virtual space the privacy control mechanism that works well in a physical room: if a person is present in a room, she is able to observe all activities happening in the room. AngeLA serves two main purposes: (1) it increases the awareness of teachers about the activity tracking and (2) provides an intuitive way to manage the activity tracking permissions. This approach can be applied to various learning environments and social media platforms. We have implemented AngeLA in Graasp, a social platform that fosters collaborative activities.

This paper proposes an novel idea to develop application. Different from traditional programming methods, users can design their application without long term training. The tool prevents syntax and semantic errors during design the application. Based on the proposed idea a total solution to develop application for android system is established. The system includes a cloud system, user management system, web base development tool and an auto deploy system. By means of simply drag and drop, users can design and deploy their application. The aim of this paper is to perform a case study on the architectures of online auction fraud detection. These architectures include separated models to trace the behavior of the auction and trace IP, user management, user security permissions or two-stage phased modeling framework procedure properties filtering on the evaluation is employed to detect the fraudsters.

Meanwhile, most of management systems are based on B/S model, where one of the foremost requirements is to provide low-latency access to frequent and large amounts of requests. To address this needs, in this paper, we firstly demonstrate the design of a web unified user management system which based on the Role-based access control (RBAC) model and Memcached. Secondly we conducted an experiment on two groups of integrated prototype systems to validate our results. Finally we draw a conclusion than it can not only monitor users in real time and configure the permissions safely and flexibly, but also reduce the response time significantly and improve the system performance.

The use of brain waves as biometrics has been proposed. The brain wave is spontaneously occurring; therefore, it enables to transparently present biometric data, and makes on-demand authentication possible. User management is one of supposable and plausible applications in which the on-demand authentication is required, While using a system, users are authenticated on demand from the system. Assuming driver authentication, we have evaluated the verification performance of brain waves measured in simulated driving environments. In this paper, we divide α-β band to several sub-bands and evaluate verification performance in each sub-band. As a result, it is confirmed that each verification performance is quite different from other ones. This result may lead to some kind of knowledge about feasible frequency bands in the brain wave for person authentication.

Video surveillance systems play an important role in public safety monitoring and intelligent management of the subway system. In this paper, we take the video surveillance system in Suzhou Subway Line 1 as the application background and develop a comprehensive video surveillance and management platform. According to the hierarchical architecture of hardware devices in the video surveillance system, the design and implementation of this software platform in B/S framework are presented in detail. Our platform is composed of five primitive functional modules: video surveillance, device management, device alarm management, storage management, and user management. These modules not only cover the functions which are fundamental in conventional video surveillance platform, but also include some special services that are related to specific hardware devices. Through our video surveillance and management platform, various resources in the network can be uniformly integrated and controlled to realize the convenient management and flexible operation.

The SGEH located at the Universidad del Valle campus emulates hydraulic power based on the IEEE 1010-2006 standard. This system includes remote operation capacities and user management protocols. JavaScript, AJAX, and Java Servlets applications were used. Three different types of users with complete or restricted privileges were considered: the administrator, the operator, and monitor users. The software system restricts simultaneous access to only one administrator, one operator, and up to 23 users on a local area network, which facilitates teaching and research activities in hydroelectric power generation systems. El artículo describe la implementación de un sistema informático para la operación vía Web de una planta prototipo de generación de energía hidroeléctrica. La planta SGHE localizada en la E.I.E.E de la Universidad del Valle emula una planta hidráulica basada en el estándar IEEE 1010-2006. El sistema incluye capacidades remotas y protocolos de gerenciamiento de usuario. Se usaron las herramientas JavaScript, AJAX y Java Servlets. Fueron considerados tres diferentes tipos de usuario con privilegios propios. El sistema restringe el acceso a 23 usuarios y un solo administrador en una red de área local facilitando las actividades de docencia e investigación.

Within this paper, we will describe a grid concept to realize a universal remote lab infrastructure as well as different operation modes based on this concept. This new infrastructure consists of three parts: an internal serial remote lab bus, a bus protection unit to interface the remote lab bus and to protect it from misuse and damage as well as a protection unit, which protects the physical systems (the electro-mechanical models in our remote lab) against deliberate damage or accidentally wrong control commands and which offers different access and control mechanisms. The interconnection between the Web-control units and the selected physical system during a remote lab work session (experiment) as well as the user management is done by the lab server, which also handles the webcams. The implemented remote lab infrastructure is based on the iLab architecture of the MIT, which allows to interconnect remote labs and to exchange remote lab experiments among different universities worldwide.

Enterprise Collaboration and Enterprise Interoperability are two key aspects of networked enterprises, which proceed along parallel tracks with rare opportunities to convene, support and influence each other. To resolve this issue we propose the use of the COIN platform, which allows exposure, combination and integration of Web Services to support these aspects in different business sectors. Suitable COIN collaboration and interoperability services were selected based on the requirements analysis performed with Donnelly Tanker Management, our industrial partner in Cyprus. These services adhere to requirements of the shipping sector, such as negotiation of voyage terms, trusted information sharing, document management and user management. Using COIN, a web-based enterprise system was created that supported two case studies. Software prototyping is an attractive alternative approach to systems development, within which end-users exercise with a series of prototypes in a working environment. Such interactions offer an excellent scope for meaningful participation of end-users in the system development process. This is crucial for the success of a project. However, despite its significance, relatively little attention has been paid towards the management of end-user involvement. Advocates of prototyping approach merely express a need for active user participation in the prototype development process. They fail to offer any practical guidelines. Moreover, few documented case studies concerning management of user involvement within a prototype project have been published. It is argued that managing user participation is not a trivial task and it requires considerable attention. In this paper, the authors propose a framework that relates degree of user involvement with the type of prototyping approach adopted and the stages of prototype development process. Introduction On June 22, 2008, Terry Childs made national headlines when he locked access to the city of San Francisco’s Fiber Wide Area Network (WAN) by resetting administrative passwords to its switches and routers and then declining to hand over those passwords.*On October 24, 2008, an employee at Fanny Mae’s Urbana, MD, data center was let go from his contract, almost two weeks after erroneously creating a computer script that changed the settings on the Unix servers without the proper authority of his supervisor.† Within 90 minutes of being told his contract was terminated, and several hours before his access to the Fannie Mae network was disabled later that evening, he embedded a malicious script inside a legitimate script that ran on Fannie Mae’s network every morning. e malicious script was to trigger on January 31, but was discovered by chance by another engineer on October 29. e malicious script was planted after a page of blank lines intended to conceal it. Had that script run, it would have disabled monitoring alerts and all log-ins, deleted the root passwords to the approximately 4000 Fannie Mae servers, then erased all data and backup data on those servers by overwriting with zeros. It would have caused millions of dollars in damage and reduced or shut down operations for at least a week.

In the solution, the system account number and login name are differently defined and users can freely choose the system accounts when registering. In the password section, Identification Information password-protected mode is proposed. By comparing the well-known sites, indicate that it is an excellent solution to user management system.

This chapter deals with the problem of defining and assessing the quality of a digital library. The chapter will provide a brief excursus on the evolution of digital libraries and their current complexity to make it clear that there is a strong need for systematic and exhaustive models which precisely define what digital libraries are and encompass a model for the quality of digital libraries. In this context, the authors will present an overview of the DELOS Reference Model for digital libraries and they will go into details about how quality has been modelled in it. The authors will also compare this model to another formal model for digital libraries, which is the Stream, Structures, Spaces, Scenarios, Societies (5S) model. The discussion addressed in the chapter will not be limited to quality issues but will show how quality impact on various dimensions of the digital library universe. In particular, they will discuss how quality relates to interoperability. To this end, they will describe the conceptual model for interoperability developed in support to the European Digital Library initiative and will highlight its relationships with the quality domain in the DELOS Reference Model. Finally, the authors will outlook some future directions that may be pursued to improve and automate the assessment and evaluation of quality in digital libraries.

Management support sytems (MSS) are systems that involve the use of information technologies to support management lone-user MSS are such systems used by managers acting alone, whether the systems have been developed for an individual's exclusive use or for more than one user. Information systems research has been hampered by the lack of widely agreed measures of success. There are two main reasons for this. First, there has been a lack of rigour in the presentation of research findings, particularly in the definition of the types of system that have been investigated. This is particularly the case with MSS. Second, there is often no direct way of determining the effect of an MSS on the goals of an organization in the midst of many other concurrent factors. A classification of lone-user MSS is first given. The many, often indirect, measures of success that have been suggested are then charted. These are then incorporated into a hierarchical framework of organizational goals and intra-MSS measures. Finally, appropriate measures of success to use with the two major classes of MSS are suggested.

Eurostat is pursuing the establishment of an infrastructure for remote access for researchers in order to satisfy the growing demand for microdata. Some European countries already implemented such solutions. This paper compares the systems which can be categorized in (1) terminal server, (2) distance network and (3) job submission systems. They differ in IT infrastructure, workstation control, user management and authentication, file systems and disclosure control activities. The second part of the paper describes the efforts and outlook as well as options and challenges for Eurostat when building such a system.

In this paper, we propose a user management system for networked consumer electronics (nCE). The proposed system extends Tokunaga's hybrid P2P system in such a way that the inquiries concerned with client peers submitted by service-provider peers are handled by several authentication proxies instead of a centralized management peer, although client peers still have to register themselves to the centralized server. A prototype of the proposed system is implemented using JXTA framework, and is evaluated via experiments. The result of experiments indicates that the proposed system certainly reduces both the load of the centralized server and the time required for the authentication process.

This paper shows the experiences of a law firm with adopting Wiki Webs for knowledge management and collaboration over the last two years. Wikis created a business advantage for the lawyers through better re-use of their know-how within the firm. In addition, external Wikis for clients created new revenue opportunities and higher client satisfaction. The law firm uses a very simple Wiki implementation that makes it very easy to establish new Wiki instances. For client collaboration the Wiki was secured and extended with a simple user management system.

An annotation-based classroom activities support environment with home network technology is proposed. Virtual Environments (VEs) have recently gained a lot of attention from the Computing, Graphics, Business and Social communities due to a remarkable increase in their popularity. These communities are working together to make these environments more sociable and interesting while introducing novel applications. A number of technical infrastructures are currently hosting these environments, however, Client Multi Server (CMS) infrastructures are considered best for their flexibility. Scalability and consistency are basic issues in developing large scale Distributed Virtual Environments (DVEs) that require special attention. The existing mechanisms have major performance issues, and therefore, more sophisticated infrastructures are required to deal with dynamic requirements of the applications. In this paper, we propose a novel Joint Hierarchical Nodes based User Management (JoHNUM) infrastructure for the development of scalable and consistent virtual worlds. It is compared with the game middleware, Matrix, for evaluation purposes that has demonstrated better performance over the existing static mechanisms. Simulation results show that JoHNUM achieves lower levels Resource Management Tree (RMT) and increases user interactive experience. Moreover, it uses fewer resources and minimizes communication overhead, almost the same as Matrix.

The increasing uptake of HPC, and cluster computing in particular, has led many people to develop creative solutions to the technical challenges that they encounter in the establishment of useful HPC facilities. Proven solutions from our experiences in acquiring and building research clusters for general purpose scientific use are presented to a number of such issues, ranging from the performance evaluation of vendor bids to matters of user management. Examples of the latter being techniques for limiting manual SSHing to compute nodes and the use of group accounts that empower user groups to take ownership of their specialized software.

Harvesting high-entropy data from hardware generators is usually a difficult task and most of the applications will take data that is believed to contain enough entropy and use it to ldquoseedrdquo a cryptographic algorithm. The paper proposes an evaluation of such system on chip device designed to harvest high-entropy data from thermal phenomena (thermal noise and avalanche noise) and to analyze ldquowhiteningrdquo algorithms for reducing bias and correlation. Taking into account the features of system on chip devices: complete user management of analog and digital embedded resources, the possibility of creating custom peripherals and the high level of re-usability not only for the software modules but also for embedded hardware peripherals, the new design addresses the main challenges for building true random number generators and proposes a design path and a testing procedure for high-entropy generators.

One of the most challenging problems in managing large web-applications is the complexity of security administration and user-profile management. Role Based Access Control (RBAC) has become the predominant model for advanced access control due to the reduced complexity and cost of administration. Under RBAC, security administration is greatly simplified by using roles, hierarchies and privileges, and user management is uncomplicated by using LDAP API specification within the J2EE application. System administrators create roles according to the job functions performed in an organization, grant permissions to those roles, and then assign users to the roles on the basis of their specific job responsibilities and qualifications. We introduce in this paper RBAC in a typical J2EE enterprise application and present architectural details, along with security administration and user-profile management for RBAC. Netegrity SiteMinder provides the RBAC foundation, and J2EE framework serves as the reference model for administration in the application. Then we emphasize the design and implementation of a custom RBAC-model, and the possibilities of optimization of this model.
