Due to the presence of many flammable substances in the working environments of the petrochemical industry, anticorrosive conductive coatings need to be used on metal equipment to avoid safety accidents like fires. However, existing conductive solvent-based coatings are volatile when exposed to flammable and toxic organic solvents. Thus, in this work, a series of eco-friendly anticorrosive waterborne polyurethane (WPU) composites with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were prepared via a low-cost and practical process; the dispersion of MWCNTs was revealed when present in different amounts, and the mechanism behind the conduction of WPU composites was determined. We concluded that low amounts of MWCNTs were well dispersed, generating a conductive network, and the WPU composite was not entirely covered by the MWCNT particles, so the electrical conductivity in certain parts of the coating was good. When the content of MWCNTs was excessive, some stretched MWCNTs dispersed to the top of the composite and many MWCNTs agglomerated at the bottom. Additionally, when the content of MWCNTs was increased, the electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and adhesion strength of the WPU composite decreased. Our results could provide a theoretical foundation for the preparation of anticorrosive conductive waterborne composites for protecting equipment in the petrochemical industry. Halide perovskites with naturally coupled electron‐ion dynamics hold great potential for nonvolatile memory applications. Self‐rectifying memristors are promising as they can avoid sneak currents and simplify device configuration. Here we report a self‐rectifying memristor firstly achieved in a single perovskite (NHCINH3)3PbI5 (abbreviated as (IFA)3PbI5), which is sandwiched by Ag and ITO electrodes as the simplest cell in a crossbar array device configuration. The iodide ions of (IFA)3PbI5 can be easily activated, of which the migration in the bulk contributes to the resistance hysteresis and the reaction with Ag at the interface contributes to the spontaneous formation of AgI. The perfect combination of n‐type AgI and p‐type (IFA)3PbI5 gives rise to the rectification function like a p–n diode. Such a self‐rectifying memristor exhibits the record‐low set power consumption and voltage. This work emphasizes that the multifunction of ions in perovskites can simplify the fabrication procedure, decrease the programming power, and increase the integration density of future memory devices. The characterization of the impact strength and structure of bisphenol A polycarbonate aged in 65°C H2SO4 aqueous solutions (pH = 4.5) and in distilled water, both at 65°C, was carried out by means of impact testing, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Polarizing Microscopy (POM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) measurements. The results were as follows: the impact strength increased a little (from 71 to 76.3 kJ/m2) after being aged 1 day in the H2SO4 aqueous solution. Microvoids were formed on the surface of the PC in both the aqueous solution and distilled water aging, and the size and number of the microvoids increased substantially with the increase of aging time. The glass transition temperature showed a slight decrease after aging. In both liquids, the degradation mechanism was ascribed to the hydrolysis of ester groups in both aqueous solutions aging. However, the hydrolysis rate of PC aged in hot water was higher than that of the sample aged in the H2SO4 aqueous solution in the first day of aging. In addition, a ductile failure to brittle failure transition was observed for both H2SO4 solution and hot water aging. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable plasma cell cancer in the bone marrow. Immunomodulatory drugs, such as lenalidomide (LEN) and pomalidomide, are backbone agents in MM treatment, and LEN resistance is commonly seen in the MM clinic. In this study, we presented that heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein U (hnRNPU) affected MM resistance to LEN via the regulation of target mRNA translation. hnRNPULow MM cells exhibited upregulated CRBN and IKZF1 proteins, stringent IKZF1/3 protein degradation upon LEN addition and increased sensitivity to LEN. RNA pulldown assays and RNA electrophoretic mobility shift assays revealed that hnRNPU bound to the 3′‐untranslated region of CRBN and IKZF1 mRNA. A sucrose gradient assay suggested that hnRNPU specifically regulated CRBN and IKZF1 mRNA translation. The competition of hnRNPU binding to its target mRNAs by small RNAs with hnRNPU‐binding sites restored MM sensitivity to LEN. hnRNPU function in vivo was confirmed in an immunocompetent MM mouse model constructed by the inoculation of Crbn‐humanized murine 5TGM1 cells into CrbnI391V/+ mice. Overall, this study suggests a novel mechanism of LEN sensitivity in which hnRNPU represses CRBN and IKZF1 mRNA translation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Membrane separation plays a crucial role in the current increasingly complex energy environment. Membranes prepared by metal–organic framework (MOF) materials usually possess unique advantages in common, such as uniform pore size, ultra‐high porosity, enhanced selectivity and throughput, and excellent adsorption property, which have been contributed to the separation fields. In this comprehensive review, we summarize various designs and synthesized strategies of free‐standing MOF and composite MOF‐based membranes for water treatment. Special emphases are given not only on the effects of MOF on membrane performance, removal efficiencies, and elimination mechanisms, but also on the importance of MOF‐based membranes for the applications of oily and micro‐pollutant removal, adsorption, separation, and catalysis. The challenges and opportunities in the future for the industrial implementation of MOF‐based membranes are also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
