162. High‐Quality α‐FAPbI3 Film Assisted by Lead Acetate for Efficient Solar Cells.

Abstract

The α‐phase formamidinium lead triiodide (α‐FAPbI3)‐based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) exhibit potential high efficiency due to their narrow bandgap, but the fabrication of a stable α‐FAPbI3 film still is challenging. Herein, a strategy is devised to achieve a stable α‐FAPbI3 film, in which lead acetate (PbAc2) is added to the perovskite precursor solution. The Ac− ions are involved in the formation of the lead halide octahedra, which effectively promotes the entry of FA+ into the lead halide octahedra to stabilize the α‐phase of FAPbI3. Furthermore, the Ac− will gradually leave during the annealing process, thus the addition of PbAc2 cannot introduce other components in the FAPbI3. The crystallinity and crystal orientation of the perovskite films are also improved by the PbAc2 additive to obtain low trap density films, leading to an increase in charge carrier collection. The champion solar cell based on the α‐FAPbI3 film presented a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 21.24% with negligible hysteresis. After 500 h of storage under ambient conditions, the devices still maintained more than 90% of their initial efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

164. Review—Recent Progress of Lithium-Rich Cation Disordered Rocksalt Cathode for High Performance Lithium-Ion Batteries

Abstract

The growing demand for energy storage application has facilitated the development of Li-ion rechargeable batteries (LIBs). As such, there is an urgent need to design electrodes with a high specific energy and long cycle life. The evolution of conventional LIBs cathode materials in past 30 years has arrived at a bottleneck. Fortunately, the finding of the lithium-rich cation disordered rocksalt (DRXs) has largely broadened the element ranges of the promising cathode in the past several years. Compared with the classical cation-ordered oxides, the DRXs display a large charge storage capacity based on both transition metal and oxygen redox capacity. In addition, their wide compositional space and cobalt-free characteristic would greatly reduce production costs in promoting the commercialization process. Herein, we make an overview of the recent progress for DRXs materials, in terms of their compositions and structure, Li diffusion, charge storage mechanisms, and different redox centra-based system. The key challenges to practical application are also discussed. Last but not least, in order to design high-performance DRXs, we outlined perspectives in developing DRXs for the next generation of LIB cathodes.

Abstract

Group III–V compound semiconductors are a promising group of materials for photoelectrochemical (PEC) applications. In this work, a metal assisted wet etching approach is adapted to acquiring a large‐area patterned microdome structure on p‐GaAs surface. In addition, atomic layer deposition is used to deposit a TiO2 protection layer with controlled thickness and crystallinity. Based on a PEC photocathode design, the optimal configuration achieves a photocurrent of −5 mA cm−2 under −0.8 V versus Ag/AgCl in a neutral pH electrolyte. The TiO2 coating with a particular degree of crystallization deposited via controlled temperature demonstrates a superior stability over amorphous coating, enabling a remarkably stable operation, for as long as 60 h. The enhanced charge separation induced by favorable band alignment between GaAs and TiO2 contributes simultaneously to the elevated solar conversion efficiency. This approach provides a promising solution to further development of group III–V compounds and other photoelectrodes with high efficiency and excellent durability for solar fuel generation.
