Abstract

Recently, C4F7N mixtures have attracted attention as a promising SF6 alternative due to their low global warming potential and excellent electrical performance. In this study, we introduce a newly built experimental setup for pulsed Townsend measurements as well as the physical model for the acquisition of electron swarm parameters. The effective ionization rate coefficients, electron drift velocity, and density-normalized longitudinal diffusion coefficients in C4F7N and its mixtures with CO2 and N2 were obtained. The reduced critical electric field for pure C4F7N at 100 Pa is determined to be 1002 Td, while it decreases with increasing pressure because of the effect of ion kinetics during the discharge process. C4F7N shows good synergism with CO2 and N2. To have a dielectric strength equivalent to that of SF6, the mixing ratio of C4F7N in its mixtures with CO2 and N2 should be 18% and 12%, respectively. Abstract

The study of the commonness and differences of natural circulation of different liquid metals plays an important role in improving the safety of reactors. The numerical simulation of liquid metal natural circulation heat transfer was carried out by CFX, and its heat transfer coefficient, flow, and outlet temperature were studied. The factor analysis method was used to analyze the influence of the interaction between factors and the contribution rate of each factor. It can be found that the commonality of heat exchange between different liquid metals is that the heat transfer coefficient is mainly affected by the power, the contribution rate of power to the heat transfer coefficients of liquid sodium, sodium-potassium alloy, lead, and lead-bismuth alloy reached 40.16, 78.16, 97.95, and 92.19%, respectively; the flow rate and outlet temperature of the liquid metal increase with the increase of power; the flow rate and outlet temperature are hardly affected by pressure. The difference is that the heat transfer coefficients of liquid metals have different trends with the change of power; in addition, the interaction between the factors of heat transfer coefficient is different; the heat transfer coefficient of liquid sodium and sodium-potassium alloy is affected by pressure, the pressure affects the heat transfer coefficient by coupling with power or inlet temperature. In general, the heat transfer performance of sodium is the best, with a much higher heat transfer coefficient than the other three liquid metals; the natural circulation ability of sodium-potassium alloy is the strongest, and its flow velocity is greater than other liquid metals.

172. Foodborne Carbon Dots Aggravate High-Fat-Diet-Induced Glucose Homeostasis Imbalance by Disrupting the Gut-Liver Axis

Abstract

Foodborne carbon dots (CDs) are generally produced during cooking and exist in food items. Generally, CDs are regarded as nontoxic materials, but several studies have gradually confirmed the cytotoxicity of CDs, such as oxidative stress, reduced cellular activity, apoptosis, etc. However, studies focusing on the health effects of long-term intake of food-borne CDs are scarce, especially in populations susceptible to metabolic disease. In this study, we reported that CDs in self-brewing beer had no effect on glucose metabolism in CHOW-fed mice but exacerbated high-fat-diet (HFD)-induced glucose metabolism disorders via the gut-liver axis. Chronic exposure to foodborne CDs increased fasting glucose levels and exacerbated liver and intestinal barrier damage in HFD-fed mice. The 16s rRNA sequencing analysis revealed that CDs significantly altered the gut microbiota composition and promoted lipopolysaccharide (LPS) synthesis-related KEGG pathways (superpathway of (Kdo)2-lipid A, Kdo transfer to lipid IVA Ill (Chlamydia), lipid IVA biosynthesis, and so on) in HFD-fed mice. Mechanically, CD exposure increased the abundance of Gram-negative bacteria (Proteobacteriaand Desulfovibrionaceae), thus producing excessive endotoxin-LPS, and then LPS was transferred by the blood circulation to the liver due to the damaged intestinal barrier. In the liver, LPS promoted TLR4/NF-κB/P38 MAPK signaling, thus enhancing systemic inflammation and exacerbating HFD-induced insulin resistance. However, pretreating mice with antibiotics eliminated these effects, indicating a key role for gut microbiota in CDs exacerbating glucose metabolism disorders in HFD-fed mice. The finding herein provides new insight into the potential health risk of foodborne nanoparticles in susceptible populations by disturbing the gut-liver axis.

Abstract

HFO-1336mzz(E) is proposed as a novel alternative to SF6 due to its low greenhouse effect and high insulation strength. Typically, it is mixed with CO2 or Air to lower its boiling point to meet the minimum operating temperature. To better understand the thermophysical properties of the gases' arcing plasma, the composition, thermodynamic properties, transport properties, and net emission coefficient of 30% molar fraction of HFO-1336mzz(E) mixed with CO2 or Air at temperatures from 300 K to 30 000 K at 0.12 MPa are calculated. It is found that HFO-1336mzz(E) mixtures have similar turbulent energy dissipation and thermal interruption capability to the pure SF6. Analysis of radiation characteristics demonstrates that the HFO-1336mzz(E) mixtures at 0.12 MPa exhibit stronger radiation emission compared to SF6 at 0.1 MPa, which indicates good arc radiation dissipation capabilities within such mixtures. This study reports the properties of thermal plasma of HFO-1336mzz(E) mixtures for the first time. These findings not only provide fundamental data for further magneto-hydro-dynamic calculations for arcing process but also put forward the potential application of these mixtures as arc interruption medium in medium voltage switchgears.
