Abstract

In nature, living organisms move in a collective state of aggregation, this collective motion is influenced by the nature of the environment, the obstacles refocused during the movement and the local interaction between individuals, this interaction is responsible for avoiding collision between each individual. In this paper, we study numerically the collective motion of self-organized organisms by expanding the Langevin dynamics, in which we have modeled the interaction between individuals by an elastic force. Modeling the interaction between individuals using an elastic force gives remarkable results. This interaction has an important effect if the individuals are dispersed a lot in space, but if a certain number of particles N is exceeded, this force is of no importance and the saturation velocity becomes constant. The results of the numerical simulation show that the average velocity of the individuals goes through a transient regime before reaching the permanent regime. Moreover, the results show that the system represents a transition from a nonequilibrium state to an equilibrium state, which is similar to a second-phase transition (paramagnetic/ferromagnetic) in the absence of the magnetic field; this phase transition is observable if the distance between two individuals is greater than a critical radius noted R c . Abstract

Diabetes is one of the most common diseases worldwide and its prevalence rate continues to rise. This increase is due to factors related to nutrition and lifestyle on the one hand and to genetic factors on the other hand, thus creating a real public-health problem. Therefore, it is crucial to identify diabetes early in order to allow rapid treatment, capable of slowing down the progression of the disease. The objective of this work is to propose an automatic diabetes-prediction system based on the following machine-learning techniques: SVM, KNN, Decision Tree and Logistic Regression. Using risk factors specific to the Algerian environment, we constructed a new dataset that includes 823 patients, with 418 being diabetic and 405 being non-diabetic. In order to choose the relevant features and identify the most informative risk factors, we combined several feature-extraction methods, such as ANalysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) and we used also the features proposed by the Pima Indian Diabetes Dataset (PIDD). The results of this study provided valuable information on the comparative performance of different machinelearning models in the prediction of diabetes, as well as on the importance of the selected characteristics. 210. Population characteristics of the endangered Barbary sheep in the Amassine nature reserve, Moroccan Western Atlas range

Abstract

Population characteristics of Atlas Barbary sheep (Ammotragus lervia) were investigated 17 years following the 1999 introduction of 10 individuals into the fenced nature reserve of Amassine, High Atlas range, Morocco, for promoting wildlife watching and tourism. Population age-sex structure and density were determinate in late winter early spring during four consecutive years (2016–2019) by direct observation before dispersal of the herd. During 2017 the population age-sex structure and density were also investigated and determinate in mid-late spring while the herd is dispersed using the line transect-distance sampling method to have a comparison between the two methods (direct and indirect). Population size increased from 37 to 62 animals during the four-year study period; the maximal population size being 82 individuals recorded in 2006. An estimated population density ranged from 0.25 to 0.41 Barbary sheep/ha. The adult sex ratio varied from 91 to 67 per 100 ewes. The apparent birth rate was of 14 to 73/100 ewes. Juveniles and subadults comprised 27–43% of the population, adult rams 26–31% and, adult ewes 29–45%. The survival rate from birth to 1 year of age approximated 35%. For adult rams was estimated to average 69%/year. The obtained results would be helpful for developing a sustainable population management and habitat restoration plan, and assessing the feasibility of potential reintroduction/restocking in other areas of the Atlas range.

Abstract

L’ouverture économique mondiale a permis de développer de nouveaux modes d’organisation des entreprises, notamment celles engagées dans des stratégies globales. De nouvelles configurations de la structure productive ont alors vu le jour. Les chaînes de production sont de plus en plus complexes et les processus de production dont davantage fragmentés. En effet, plus un produit est complexe, plus il contient de composants quipeuvent être fabriqués de façon autonome les uns des autres et plus il offre de possibilités de décomposition des processus productifs au niveau international. Certaines entreprises d’engagent ainsi dans des relations complexes qui s’étendent de la simplecoopération sur le court terme aux alliances à long terme et aux joint-ventures, en passant par les différentes formes d’intégration verticales ou horizontales dans plusieurs secteurs. Abstract

El propósito de este artículo, que tiene su base en un Trabajo Fin de Grado, es estudiar y analizar la traducción oficial de la serie La casa de papel en la combinación español-árabe, poniendo especial énfasis en el tratamiento del lenguaje ofensivo y/o de las expresiones tabúes. Con este trabajo se podrá observar el rol tan importante que tienen ciertas culturas en el mundo audiovisual, por ejemplo, a la hora de subtitular una película, ya que a menudo se encuentran grandes diferencias entre el texto origen y el texto meta. Es cierto que resulta complicado traducir el lenguaje soez a la lengua árabe, debido al alto grado de formalidad del árabe clásico, pero esto no niega el hecho de que existan palabras obscenas en este registro culto. Es aquí donde la cultura juega un papel relevante, porque, de una forma u otra, los países árabes, a diferencia de algunos occidentales, tienen una cultura muy conservadora en este aspecto. Es muy importante mantener las formalidades del lenguaje en ciertos formatos, como la televisión, la radio, la prensa, etc. Esto afecta muy a menudo al mundo audiovisual, precisamente cuando se tienen que traducir temas políticos, religiosos, expresiones soeces o contenido tabú en general. Dichos temas se convierten en pequeñas dificultades para algunos traductores o subtituladores, a los que no les queda más remedio que utilizar ciertas estrategias y/o técnicas de traducción (Hurtado Albir, 2001) para mitigar el contenido al que se enfrentan. En este trabajo, se tratará el tema con más profundidad y se mostrarán algunos ejemplos para exponer las diferencias tan significativas que pueden llegar a originarse.

223. Underprissättning vid börsintroduktion : En kvantitativ studie på den svenska marknaden ur ett internationellt perspektiv

Abstract

Problem: A widely accepted perception within the research community is that initial public offerings tend to be underpriced on a global level. Numerous studies have been conducted across global markets to identify the underlying factors. However, the findings have been heterogeneous and contradictory. Within the context of underpricing, the Nordic market, including Sweden, is relatively underexplored compared to the extensively researched American market. This research study aims to investigate several crucial variables, based on previous international research, and their relationship to this phenomenon within an area that remains insufficiently explored. Purpose: The goal of this study is to contribute to the existing IPO literature, by examining the factors that have statistically significant associations with underpricing in IPOs on the Swedish market. Method: The study has utilized empirical quantitative methodology with a deductive approach, and has relied on secondary data. It has examined short-term returns, specifically the returns generated on the first day of trading. Hypotheses regarding the study's five independent variables have been deduced from existing international empirical evidence. These variables are (1) industry affiliation, (2) company size (measured by revenue), (3) company age, (4) debt ratio, and (5) stock exchange regulations (measured through markets). By using multiple regression analysis, it has been possible to determine whether any of these variables have a statistically significant association with underpricing in IPOs. Results/Conclusion: The study reported non-statistically significant findings, which contradict the majority of previous scientific research. However, without regard to the regression analysis, weak support remained for certain independent variables showing vague associations with the studied phenomenon., Problem: En vedertagen uppfattning inom forskarvärlden är att börsintroduktioner har en generell tendens att vara underprissatta på en global nivå. Många undersökningar har genomförts på världens marknader i syfte att identifiera de underliggande faktorerna. Resultaten har emellertid varit heterogena och motsägelsefulla. Inom ramen för underprissättning är den nordiska marknaden, med Sverige som en del av den, jämförelsevis outforskad i förhållande till den amerikanska som varit föremål för betydligt mer omfattande forskning. Forskningsstudien ämnar undersöka ett antal avgörande variabler, baserade på tidigare internationell forskning, och dess koppling till fenomenet inom ett område som ännu inte är tillräckligt utforskat. Syfte: Föreliggande studie har som mål att bidra till den befintliga börsintroduktionslitteraturen, genom att utreda vilka faktorer som har statistiskt signifikanta samband med underprissättning vid börsintroduktioner på den svenska marknaden. Metod: Studien har använt empirisk kvantitativ metodik med deduktiv ansats, och har utgått från sekundärdata. Studien har undersökt den kortsiktiga avkastningen, mer specifikt; den avkastning som skapats under första handelsdagen. Hypoteser om studiens fem oberoende variabler har deducerats från befintliga internationella empiriska underlag. Dessa är; (1) branschtillhörighet, (2) företagsstorlek (mätt som omsättning), (3) företagsålder, (4) skuldsättningsgrad och (5) börshandelsregler (mätt genom marknader). Med hjälp av en multipel regressionsanalys, har det varit möjligt att utreda om någon av dessa variabler uppvisat ett statistiskt signifikant samband med underprissättningen. Resultat/Slutsats: Studien rapporterade icke-statistiskt signifikanta fynd vilket motsäger merparten av tidigare vetenskaplig forskning. Abstract

El següent treball final de grau té com a principals objectius fer el disseny de les rodes d’un cotxe i, posteriorment, fer l’estudi aerodinàmic d’aquestes rodes, per tal de determinar quina és més eficient i calcular el consum de combustible de dues d’elles, ja que comparteixen les mateixes dimensions, però l’única part que canvia del disseny és la part frontal. Aquest treball està dividit en tres grans blocs, els tres importants per la deguda realització d’aquest projecte. El primer bloc és l’estudi dels fonaments teòrics que entren en joc en l’aerodinàmica, com és el principi de Bernoulli, l’efecte Venturi o l’equació de la continuïtat. El segon bloc consisteix en el disseny de les llantes amb el pneumàtic, el qual s’ha realitzat amb el programari de CAD anomenat SolidWorks. En aquest bloc s’expliquen els principals passos duts a terme per tal de dissenyar cada una de les rodes, ja que algunes d’elles comporten una dificultat notable. Un cop portats a cap els dissenys 3D, s’han realitzat el dibuixos dels plànols de cada un d’ells. L’últim bloc, el tercer bloc, consisteix en dur a terme la simulació CFD del conjunt de les rodes mitjançant túnel de vent amb el software de dinàmica de fluids computacional anomenat Altair HyperWorks CFD. Una vegada realitzada la simulació s’extreuen els resultats pertinents i, a partir d’aquí, la resta de valors representatius, com pot ser les emissions de CO2 alliberades a l’atmosfera. Finalment, s’extreuen les conclusions d’acord amb els fonaments teòrics exposats en el primer bloc, avaluant els factors aerodinàmics que entren en joc., El siguiente trabajo final de grado tiene como principales objetivos hacer el diseño de las ruedas de un coche y, posteriormente, hacer el estudio aerodinámico de estas ruedas, para determinar cuál es más eficiente y calcular el consumo de combustible de dos de ellas, puesto que comparten las mismas dimensiones, pero la única parte que cambia del diseño es la parte frontal. Este trabajo está dividido en tres grandes bloques, los tres importantes por la debida realización de este proyecto. El primer bloque es el estudio de los cimientos teóricos que entran en juego en la aerodinámica, como es el principio de Bernoulli, el efecto Venturi o la ecuación de la continuidad. El segundo bloque consiste en el diseño de las llantas con el neumático, el cual se ha realizado con el software de CAD denominado SolidWorks. En este bloque se explican los principales pasos realizados para diseñar cada una de las ruedas, puesto que algunas de ellas comportan una dificultad notable. Una vez realizados los diseños 3D, se ha realizado el dibujo de los planos de cada uno de ellos. El último bloque, el tercer bloque, consiste al realizar la simulación CFD del conjunto de las ruedas mediante túnel de viento con el software de dinámica de fluidos computacional llamado Altair HyperWorks CFD. Una vez realizada la simulación se extraen los resultados pertinentes y, a partir de aquí, el resto de los valores representativos, como puede ser las emisiones de CO₂ liberadas a la atmósfera. Finalmente, se extraen las conclusiones basándose en los cimientos teóricos expuestos en el primer bloque, evaluando los factores aerodinámicos que entran en juego., The next final undergraduate work has as its main objectives the design of the wheels of a car and subsequently the aerodynamic study of these wheels, in order to determine which is more efficient and calculate the fuel consumption of two of them, since they share the same dimensions but the only part that changes the design is the front part. This work is divided into three major blocks, the three important for the proper implementation of this project. The first block is the study of theoretical foundations that come into play in aerodynamics, such as Bernoulli's principle, the Venturi effect, or the equation of continuity. The second block consists of the tire rim design, which has been done with CAD software called SolidWorks. This block explains the main steps taken in order to design each of the wheels, as some of them entail a remarkable difficulty. Once the 3D designs have been made, the drawing of the plans of each of them has been done. The last block, the third block, consists of performing CFD simulation of the wheel set by wind tunnelling with the computational fluid dynamics software called Altair HyperWorks CFD. Once the simulation has been carried out, the relevant results and, on that basis, the other representative values, such as CO2 emissions released into the atmosphere, are extracted. Abstract

Nowadays, the interest in emotional education from educational guidance is constantly growing. It responds to the needs of students immersed in the educational context, thus developing their emotional and social competences and promoting their adaptation to the environment, as well as their comprehensive development. This, together with the need to address discrimination based on religion, culture or sexual orientation, means that this article deals with a web resource called Smart Emotion, which is suitable for students, families and teachers in Compulsory Secondary Education. This resource works on emotional intelligence through four different approaches (affective-sexual diversity, sustainability, peace and human rights and gender equality) and offers guidelines for both students and teachers., En la actualidad, el interés por la educación emocional desde la orientación educativa se halla en constante crecimiento. Esta darespuesta a las necesidades que presenta el alumnado inmerso en el contexto educativo, desarrollando así sus competencias emocionales y sociales y potenciando su adaptación al medio, así como su desarrollo integral. Esto, sumado a la necesidad de hacer frente a la discriminación por religión, cultura u orientación sexual, hace que en el presente artículo se aborde un recurso web denominado Smart Emotion indicado para alumnado, familias y docentes de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria. A través de este recurso se trabaja la inteligencia emocional a través de cuatro enfoques diferentes (diversidad afectivo-sexual, sostenibilidad, paz y derechos humanos e igualdad de género) y ofreciendo directrices tanto a discentes como a docentes.

Abstract

The skin is exposed to viral pathogens, but whether they contribute to the oncogenesis of skin cancers has not been systematically explored. Here we investigated 19 skin tumor types by analyzing off-target reads from commonly available next-generation sequencing data for viral pathogens. We identified human papillomavirus 42 (HPV42) in 96% (n = 45/47) of digital papillary adenocarcinoma (DPA), an aggressive cancer occurring on the fingers and toes. We show that HPV42, so far considered a nononcogenic, “low-risk” HPV, recapitulates the molecular hallmarks of oncogenic, “high-risk” HPVs. Using machine learning, we find that HPV-driven transformation elicits a germ cell–like transcriptional program conserved throughout all HPV-driven cancers (DPA, cervical carcinoma, and head and neck cancer). We further show that this germ cell–like transcriptional program, even when reduced to the top two genes (CDKN2A and SYCP2), serves as a fingerprint of oncogenic HPVs with implications for early detection, diagnosis, and therapy of all HPV-driven cancers.Significance:We identify HPV42 as a uniform driver of DPA and add a new member to the short list of tumorigenic viruses in humans. 233. Operation of Photovoltaic Panels in Stand-alone Applications

Abstract

In this chapter, we propose the analysis of the maximum power point (MPP) of photovoltaic panels (PV) in a renewable energy application. From the current–voltage characteristics, we deduced the MPP of a PV panel and specified the use of a power block (DC/DC converter) controlled by an MPPT control. In the case of an MPPT control of type perturb and observe, we realized the photovoltaic system that heats a photovoltaic solar cooker, taking into account this MPPT command. The experimentation of this application, during a sunny day, shows that the MPPT control carries out its role correctly, such as optimal operation of the PV panels and heating of the cooker by the maximum power supplied by the PV panels. The analysis of all the results shows an excellent agreement between the experiment and the simulation of the operation of the photovoltaic system which made it possible to operate the photovoltaic panels around their MPP, over the course of the sun. Under these conditions, the efficiency of the proposed DC/DC converter, with a power of 500 Wp, is of the order of 97%.

Abstract

This paper aspires to provide a reflection, inspired from personal experience, on online education at the university level in Morocco. The data has been gathered by means of recently published literature on online education to enable the researcher to be at a better position to critically evaluate concepts, methodologies and teaching approaches in tandem with online education. The use of information technology to publicly promote the renewal and revival of education in general and teaching in particular is a blatant epistemological marker of our education model’s progress in terms of digitalization and computerization of educational resources via different robust national programs, such as MARWAN (2002), GENIE (2005), NAFIDA (2008), INJAZ (2009) and LAWHATI (2015). In fact, this has given rise to emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data (BD) and the Internet of Things (IOT). In this regard, it must be noted that the current Moroccan education system exhibits diversified online education trends both in form and content, and thus this new paradigm of learning abundantly introduces various types of intelligent education systems and platforms that emerge on a perpetual basis. Owing to this conscious online shift, both the class content and the learning context of students can be tracked and monitored at any time, which is directly conducive to fathoming out the individualization and differentiation of students in a timely manner.

Abstract

The skin plays an important role in the maintenance of the human’s body physiological homeostasis. It acts as a coverage that protects against infective microorganism or biomechanical impacts. Skin is also implied in thermal regulation and fluid balance. However, skin can suffer several damages that impede normal wound-healing responses and lead to chronic wounds. Since the use of autografts, allografts, and xenografts present source limitations and intense rejection associated problems, bioengineered artificial skin substitutes (BASS) have emerged as a promising solution to address these problems. Despite this, currently available skin substitutes have many drawbacks, and an ideal skin substitute has not been developed yet. The advances that have been produced on tissue engineering techniques have enabled improving and developing new arising skin substitutes. The aim of this review is to outline these advances, including commercially available skin substitutes, to finally focus on future tissue engineering perspectives leading to the creation of autologous prevascularized skin equivalents with a hypodermal-like layer to achieve an exemplary skin substitute that fulfills all the biological characteristics of native skin and contributes to wound healing.
