Ser autor, ilustrador e editor de um livro para o público infantojuvenil motivou uma re exão acerca do desa o que representa, atualmente, o desenvolvimento de um projeto de autoedição. Neste trabalho apresenta- se um percurso na autoedição e o modo como uma avaliação preliminar do texto por parte de um grupo de leitores experimentais, constituído a partir de uma amostra por conveniência, se revelou importante para a identi cação dos pontos fortes e fracos do texto, mas, sobretudo, para Keywords Autor, ilustrador, editor, público infantojuvenil, autoedição. 231 Escrever, ilustrar e editar para o universo infantojuvenil: os desafios da autoedição a de nição de uma estratégia de ilustração capaz de ampliar (ou abrir) outras vias de leitura. Dado o teor losó co e abstrato da história houve necessidade de fazer alguns ajustes nas ilustrações para que a simbiose com o texto não se perdesse. Nesse sentido, o ilustrador, servindo-se da técnica de colagem e montagem de elementos retirados de revistas, instiga o leitor a dar atenção ao que o rodeia. Depois, usa o desenho para conduzir o leitor a outra dimensão, insinuando o processo interno pelo qual se geram as ideias, numa dinâmica interativa que aproxima a palavra e a imagem. A nal, é no jogo de desvelamento dos sentidos da linguagem verbal e da linguagem icónica que a leitura é feita. E, é da sensibilidade do editor e da sua atenção para esta relação que surge a necessidade de ceder ou de reforçar decisões para que o produto editorial em que investe possa ser bem-sucedido.

O estudo objetivou verificar a influência da atividade física sobre a qualidade de vida de participantes e não participantes de um Programa de Atividade Física, atendidos nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde da Família, no município de Campo Grande (MS). A população foi constituída de 90 indivíduos com mais de 40 anos, de ambos os sexos, os quais responderam ao questionário SF-36. Os resultados demonstraram diferença estatisticamente significativa entre os grupos, com valores melhores a favor da população praticante de atividade física. Foi possível concluir que tal prática pode contribuir para a melhora da qualidade de vida em programas de promoção da saúde, como o Estratégia Saúde da Família.

Mestrado em Marketing Todos nós estamos conscientes da problemática ambiental e do nosso contributo na proteção e melhoria da qualidade de vida no planeta. Este fato toma forma, através das políticas e necessidades ambientais impostas às organizações e nos produtos (verdes) que tentam ir de encontro às necessidades dos consumidores. O Marketing Verde, tem vindo a assumir um papel importante, funciona como uma ferramenta capaz de dar solução a estes novos desafios ambientais. Devido à crise mundial que temos assistido, nos últimos anos, os agentes económicos vêm os seus rendimentos diminuídos, tal reflete-se no seu poder de compra e potencialmente na compra de produtos verdes. Neste sentido, e tendo em conta que a crise económica, também afetou Portugal, é de todo pertinente estudar de que forma é que os consumidores portugueses se envolvem com esta tendência que é o marketing verde e até que ponto é que o grau de comportamento verde depende da sua condição económica. Os resultado obtidos através de variáveis sociodemográficas e socioeconómicas levam à identificação de alguns comportamentos que podem ser interessantes para o marketing, nomeadamente, no que dita a algumas alterações do comportamento dos indivíduos. As conclusões retiradas com o estudo em causa, levam a concluir que a maioria dos inquiridos apresenta um comportamento verde elevado e que a crise não tem afetado de forma notória esse comportamento. We are all aware of environmental problems and about our contribution in protecting and improving the quality of life on the planet. This fact takes shape, through the policies and environmental needs imposed on organizations and products (green) that trying to meet the needs of consumers. The Green Marketing that has assumed an important role, functions as a tool capable of provide solutions to these new environmental challenges. Due to the global crisis that we have witnessed in recent years, economic agents seeing their income reduced, what is reflected in their purchasing power and probably in buying green products. In this sense, and taking into account that the economic crisis also affected Portugal, it is pertinent to consider how portugueses consumers engage with this trend, that is green marketing and the extent to which the degree of green performance depends of their economic condition. The results obtained by demographic and socioeconomic variables lead to the identification of some behaviors that may be interesting for marketing, in particular, on the individual behavior changes. The conclusions drawn from this study lead to deduction that most of respondents has a high green behavior and that the crisis has not affected this behavior.

The ground–based spectroscopic observations complementing the COROT ones have continued in December 2007 and January 2008. The log of the observations, a few preliminary results and a look to the future are given.

International audience; In stellar oscillations, the temporal variation in the amplitude of a given mode can yield some information about the interior of the star. In what concerns the excitation mechanism, it has been shown that for oscillations that are excited and damped by a physical process in stochastic equilibrium, the ratio of the standard deviation of the amplitude sigmaA over the amplitude mean value muA is of the order of 0.52. This "statistical signature" is a general property of stochastically excited oscillations, so it can be used with any type of star - making it a powerful tool. Although the method is simple, its reliability and robustness have yet to be proven. With the help of simulations, these points are addressed in the present work, and the observational requirements for this method to work are more clearly defined. We show that a number of amplitude measurements of about 102 are required to get a good estimate of sigma_A/mu_A. The method is also tested against the complication of having a time series crowded with many modes (unresolvable in short time series), and results show that the theoretical relation of sigma_A/muA still holds true. Some of the motivation behind the new tests of the method involves applying it to gamma Doradus stars. The open question of what drives oscillations in these stars makes this statistical method very interesting when applied to gamma Doradus stars. A test of the method is performed using gamma Doradus observations. As expected, the results are inconclusive and demonstrate how ground-based observations of gamma Doradus stars hardly fulfill the applicability requirements of the method. We show, however, how a possible scenario of stochastic excitation in these stars could be detected with the COROT space mission.

Eclipsing binary systems with components exhibiting pulsations are excellent laboratories where both pulsation and binarity theories can be combined to obtain very reliable results. In the case of δ Sct-type pulsators, they are very attractive for asteroseismic studies. In particular, the nature of the pulsational modes can be determined using different discrimination methods which use different parts of the orbital period. However, only a few of such systems are presently known, the majority of them having been discovered as pulsators in very recent years. Even much smaller is the number of such systems with detailed studies available in the bibliography. Here we present preliminary results obtained for Y Cam, an Algol-type eclipsing binary system in which the primary component is a δ Sct-type pulsator.

Constituye una herramienta útil y actualizada para los interesados en la astronomía, y combina el conocimiento básico con los resultados científicos más novedosos. La astrofísica constituye una ciencia viva y en permanente avance por ello nos encontramos con un Plutón que ya no es considerado planeta; con nuevos datos sobre la posible presencia de agua en Marte; con géiseres en Encelado, un pequeño satélite de Saturno que se creía geológicamente inactivo; con una miríada de nuevos planetas girando alrededor de otras estrellas; con, quizá, un nuevo tipo de agujero negro y fascinantes resultados sobre las explosiones cortas de rayos gamma, uno de los eventos más energéticos del Universo y, hasta hace poco, también uno de los más desconocidos; con la mision COROT, y otras, como BepiColombo, que ya se encuentran en su fase de desarrollo instrumental.

We have analysed ground-based multi-colour Stromgren photometry and single-filter photometry from the star tracker on the WIRE satellite of the delta scuti star Epsilon Cephei. The ground-based data set consists of 16 nights of data collected over 164 days, while the satellite data are nearly continuous coverage of the star during 14 days. The spectral window and noise level of the satellite data are superior to the ground-based data and this data set is used to locate the frequencies. However, we can use the ground-based data to improve the accuracy of the frequencies due to the much longer time baseline. We detect 26 oscillation frequencies in the WIRE data set, but only some of these can be seen clearly in the ground-based data. We have used the multi-colour ground-based photometry to determine amplitude and phase differences in the Stromgren b-y colour and the y filter in an attempt to identify the radial degree of the oscillation frequencies. We conclude that the accuracies of the amplitudes and phases are not sufficient to constrain theoretical models of Epsilon Cephei. We find no evidence for rotational splitting or the large separation among the frequencies detected in the WIRE data set. To be able to identify oscillation frequencies in delta scuti stars with the method we have applied, it is crucial to obtain more complete coverage from multi-site campaigns with a long time baseline and in multiple filters. This is important when planning photometric and spectroscopic ground-based support for future satellite missions like COROT and KEPLER., 13 pages, 12 figures, 4 tables. Fig. 4 reduced in quality. Mestrado em Arte Multimédia Explorando o Bazar Tipográfico: A importância dos modelos emergentes de comunicação na criação de uma plataforma de colaboração livre para o design tipográfico trata de temas como a evolução da Web, a Cibercultura e Modelos de Comunicação, o desenvolvimento de Software Livre e a criação de Projectos Colaborativos sob a realidade electrónica. No âmbito da Comunicação na Cultura Digital, o desenvolvimento de Design Tipográfico foi a aplicação prática escolhida como objecto de análise, tendo por base a ideologia e o modelo de desenvolvimento de Software Livre. Reflecte-se principalmente a mudança de paradigma provocado pelo aparecimento da sociedade de informação desde o desenvolvimento do conceito de Internet. É, acima de tudo, uma análise dos processos de comunicação e colaboração na sociedade digital. Assim, apesar de abordar temas gerais como a Comunicação, ou Cibercultura, foca principalmente propostas colaborativas on-line, a dicotomia da Tecnologia versus Cultura, a Rede e os Modelos de Comunicação e as Plataformas de Colaboração actualmente mais populares. No entanto, sendo uma investigação desenvolvida no âmbito do Mestrado em Arte Multimédia, investiu-se essencialmente no Design Tipográfico. Exploring the Type Bazaar: the importance of the emergent models of communication in the creation of a platform of free collaboration for type design deals with themes as the evolution of the Web, Cyberculture and Communication Models, the Development of Free Software and the creation of Collaborative Projects under the electronic reality. In the scope of the Communication in the Digital Culture, the development of Typographical Design was the practical application chosen as object of analysis, having the ideology and the Open Source Software model of development for its basis. It reflects mainly the change of paradigm provoked by the appearance of the information society since the development of the concept of the Internet. It is, above all, an analysis of the communication processes and its contribution in the digital society. Thus, although it approaches subjects as wide as Communication, or Cyberculture, it focuses mainly on on-line collaborative proposals, the dichotomy of the Technology versus Culture, the Net and Models of Communication and currently popular Platforms of Collaboration. However, being an investigation developed in the scope of the Master in Multimedia Art, the investment was made essentially in Typographical Design. The sub-heading the importance of the emergent models of communication in the creation of a platform of free collaboration for type design represents a great synthesis challenge of the most important subjects of the present dissertation: The evolution and the development of the Internet, the Web and the Cyberculture as free initiatives, as reaction and as Counterculture; The sprouting of the current net society. What reflections exist in the history of the Cyberspace as the communication media and how does this medium reveals itself to be the ideal space for the development of the current digital culture; The influence of the late 1960 s communication models in the current Web phenomenon; The management model adopted for the development of Open Source Software and as this inflences everyday life and the creative production; The current collaboration methods of production and of knowledge sharing of intellectual products - main impulse of the collective intelligence and of a more productive, critical and responsible society.
