A new empoascine genus, Membranacea Qin & Zhang, gen. n., with three new species (M. spinata Qin & Zhang, sp. n., M. unijugata Qin & Zhang, sp. n. and M. plana Qin & Zhang, sp. n.), from China are described. In addition, the genus Bhatasca Dworakowska, 1995 is newly recorded from the Chinese mainland and a new species, B. rectangulata Qin & Zhang, sp. n., is described. The genus Ghauriana Thapa, 1985 is reported for the first time from China and a new species, G. sinensis Qin & Zhang sp. n. is added to the Chinese typhlocybine fauna. Keys to all species in each genus are given. Habitus photos and illustrations of male genitalia of these new species are also provided.

Membranacea Qin & Zhang, gen. nov. Type species. Membranacea spinata Qin & Zhang, sp. n., here designated. Description. Body robust. Head narrower than pronotum (Figs 1, 16, 32), with median black apical spot (Figs. 1, 2, 16, 17, 32, 33). Vertex short, rounded anteriorly, profile of transition to face rounded (Figs 3, 18, 34), coronal suture distinct, reaching anterior margin of vertex (Figs 1, 16, 32). Mesontum with basolateral triangles and apex black (Figs 1, 16, 32). Face elongated, convex in profile (Figs 3, 18, 34), lateral frontal suture present (Figs 2, 17, 33). Ocelli present. Forewing rounded apically, apical cells occupying less than one-third total length, veins RP and MP��� dissociated at their bases, both arise from r cell and MP���+CuA��� from m cell, c and r cells almost equal in width (Figs 4, 19, 35), hindwing with CuA branched, point of branching at or distad of coalescence of CuA with MP��� (Figs 5, 20, 36). Male basal abdodminal sternal apodemes well developed, apically rounded and parallel sided (Figs 15, 31, 46). Pygofer elongated, in profile strongly depressed dorsally at basal third, dorsal margin definitely discontinued dorso-caudally; free lobe of coxa distinctly narrowing caudad, its dorsal border membraneous and less pigmented in basal 2 / 3 but more sclerotized apically; caudo-dorsal angle of lobe with a few rigid microsetae, ventral appendage absent (Figs 6, 8, 21, 23, 37, 39), dorsal bridge short (Figs 7, 22, 38). Subgenital plate slightly longer than pygofer side, setae of basal group restricted to thickened dorsal margin in middle, lateral macrosetae bluntly terminated, arranged in single row except two rows for a short distance submedially (Figs 6, 13, 21, 29, 37, 44). Paramere robust, much shorter than pygofer, apophysis bearing prominent dentifer and rather long setae situated more cephalad (Figs 14, 30, 45). Connective lamellate, apical margin notched medially (Figs 9, 24, 40). Aedeagus without dorsal apodeme, preatrium well developed, shaft tubular, arcuate, with symmetrical flanges dorsally and ventrally (Figs 11, 12, 26���28, 42, 43). Anal tube deeply sunk in the dorsal emargination of pygofer, basal process not visible in profile but extended mesad in ventral view joining base of aedeagal shaft (Figs 6, 10, 21, 25, 37, 41). Etymology. The name alludes to the distinctly membraneous dorsal border of coxa. Gender: feminine. Remarks. The new genus is similar to Alebroides Matsumura, Apheliona Kirkaldy, Nikkotettix Matsumura, Ghauriana Thapa, Matsumurama Thapa, Bhatasca Dworakowska and Luodianasca Qin & Zhang in having veins MP��� and RP in the forewing arising from cell r and CuA in the hindwing branched apically. However, the new genus differs from these genera in having the pygofer strongly depressed dorsally beyond the basal third so the pygofer is discontinuous dorso-caudally, and from Alebroides, Apheliona, Ghauriana, Matsumurama and Nikkotettix in lacking the ventral pygofer appendage. The new genus differs from Bhatasca in having the basal group setae of the subgenital plate located near the midlength of the dorsal margin and from Luodianasca in the absence of ventrally projecting anal tube processes, the abdodminal apodemes well developed and the subgenital plate having setae in the basal group. Membranacea unijugata Qin & Zhang, sp. n. (Figs 16���31) Type materials. Holotype, male (NWAFU), Mt. Emei, Sichuan Province, 15 Aug. 2001, coll. Cong Wei, Suqin Shang & Zhaofu Yang, by light trap. Paratypes. 1 male, same data as holotype; 1 male, Mt. Taibai, Shaanxi Province, 1500 m, coll. Jingruo Zhou & Lan Liu (NWAFU). Description. Length, male 4.1���4.3 mm. General color brown to reddish brown. Vertex with a blackish patch centrally on each side of coronal suture, median black apical spot circled by creamy patch, the creamy patch extends basad of vertex, centrally joining the coronal suture (Figs 16, 17). Eyes dark. Face yellow to yellowish brown, postclypeus centrally infuscated with a longitudinal stripe in apical half. Pronotum reddish brown centrally and posteriorly, at anterior margin with an orange patch medially (Fig. 16). Centre of scutellum with a quadrate patch anteriorly which is furnished with a narrow brownish stripe medially, caudad of scutoscutellar sulcus with a large and irregular patch, scutoscutellar sulcus black (Fig. 16). Forewing semi-transparent, hindwing hyaline, veins beige to brown. Abdomen black brown. Legs slightly orange except the hind tibiae tan medially. Basal sternal abdominal apodemes exceeding half of segment V (Fig. 31). Male pygofer with ca. 9 rigid setae at caudo-dorsal angle of lobe (Figs 21, 23), dorsal bridge less than third of the total length of pygofer (Fig. 22), Subgenital plate expanded dorso-laterad in middle and bearing 4 fairly long and broad setae forming the basal group, 14 lateral macrosetae, 21���25 marginal microsetae and several feeble microsetae in 3 irregular rows (Figs 21, 29). Paramere with 10 prominent teeth in dentifer, a few sensory pits and ca. 10 long setae in line more cephald (Fig. 30). Aedeagal shaft with pair of flanges latero-ventrally at apical 2 / 5, margins smooth or dentate basally, subapex of shaft smooth at ventral side, or slightly produced ventro-medially in a narrow process which is dendate at ventral margin in lateral view, shaft sharply narrowing in terminal part, apex acuminate, preatrium nearly half length of shaft, gonopore ventral near apex (Figs 21, 26���28). Remarks. Membranacea unijugata Qin & Zhang, sp. n. differs from other species of this genus by the aedeagal shaft having only one pair of flanges in dorsal aspect. Etymology. Epora biprolata Men & Qin, sp. nov. (Figs 3, 4, 22–30) Description. Male. Body length 9.5-9.7 mm (n= 2). General color green to yellowish green (Figs 3, 4). Vertex with apical and lateral margins yellowish brown. Eyes brown, ocelli yellow. Pronotum, mesonotum and abdomen green. Male genital segment pale green. Forewings with veins dark green, posterior cells of clavus orange yellow. Legs green with apices of spines on tibiae and tarsi black. Head including eyes narrower than pronotum, slightly produced in front of eyes (Figs 3, 4, 22, 24). Vertex broader at base than long in midline (about 2.3: 1.0), anterior margin arched and thickened, lateral margins parallel and distinctly ridged, posterior margin concave, sharp-edged, disc of vertex slightly depressed, median sulcus single, distinct, not reaching anterior margin, anterior margin of vertex and base of frons meeting in a broad callus (Figs 4, 24). Frons longer in midline than maximum width (about 1.4: 1.0), anterior margin convex and ridged, lateral margins ridged, subparallel except where convergent terminally from antennal base, median carina thickened (Fig. 23). Compound eyes oval (Fig. 24), lateral ocelli small (Fig. 24). Clypeus distinctly ridged centrally (Fig. 23). Pronotum with anterior margin arched, posterior margin obtusely excavated; dorsal disc distinctly broader than vertex at base, lateral carinae of the disc sinuately converging cephalad, two median carinae not attaining anterior margin; with one distinct, short, lateral carina on either side between eye and tegula (Figs 3, 22, 24). Mesonotum tricarinate; median carina straight, reaching the distinct transverse suture separating the dorsal angle; lateral carinae sinuate, extending to hind margin; pronotum and mesonotum together about 4.6 times as long as vertex in midline (Figs 3, 22). Forewings semitransparent, rounded apically, widest near apex; costal cell with 14–15 short transverse veinlets; Sc+R forking at basal 3 / 5, Cu 1 forking at basal 1 / 4, claval apex beyond mid-point of forewing, claval veins meeting at basal 2 / 5 of forewing; two ranks of transverse veinlets in membrane forming numerous apical cells and subapical cells (Figs 3, 28). Hindwings hyaline (Fig. 29). Hind tibia with 3 lateral spines and 6 apical spines, metatarsomere I with 5 distal spines. Male pygofer symmetrical and quadrangular in profile (Fig. 27). Anal tube stubby, not reaching the end of aedeagus; ventro-basally with two ribbon-like processes surpassing the apex of anal segment; anal style very short (Figs 25–27). Genital styles lobe-shaped, with apical 1 / 3 strongly narrowed caudad, its dorsal margin triangularly produced dorsad at basal 1 / 4, with a hook-shaped process with acute and curved apex on dorsal edge at basal 1 / 4 (Figs 27, 30). Aedeagal shaft tubular and elongate, with two asymmetrical triangular processes at apical 1 / 3: one on dorsal side and another one on ventral side and distad of which aedeagus bent dorsad; apex membranous, with two strongly sclerotised processes distally, the right one relatively long and directed caudoventrad, the left one having a triangular process at base (Figs 25–27). Periandrium well developed, symmetrical, fused with ventral base of anal segment and surrounding aedeagal shaft from base to middle, with a flaky process on ventral side (Figs 25–27). The name of the new species is derived from the Latin prefix ‘ bi -’ and Latin root ‘ prolatus ’ with the feminine termination - a, referring to its aedeagal shaft with two apical processes. Epora biprolata sp. nov. is similar to E. bilemisca Qin & Men, 2010, but differs from the latter in the presence of the single lateral carina between eye and tegula (with two lateral carinae in E. bilemisca), the male anal segment with two ventro-basal processes (with two ventro-distal processes in E. bilemisca), the periandrium long and smooth on dorsal side (short, with processes on dorsal side in E. bilemisca), and the aedeagal shaft with two triangular processes in apical third and two long processes at apex (with two lateral flaky processes in apical third and one apical process at apex in E. bilemisca).

Seven new species of Empoasca (Empoasca) Walsh, 1862 are described and illustrated. Length. 3 3.7���3.9mm. General colour yellow. Eyes brown. Pronotum mostly semi-transparent, surrounded with irregular arch of milky patches anteriorly and laterally. Centre of scutellum with quadrate milky patch anteriorly and big patch caudad of scutoscutellar sulcus. Forewing semi-transparent, hindwing greyish white. In some specimens vertex with visible longitudinal narrow stripe on midline, reddish brown. Body robust (Fig. 34). Head narrower and shorter than pronotum (Fig. 31). Vertex roundly produced anteriorly, in dorsal view slightly shorter than width between eyes, anterior and posterior margins not parallel, coronal suture distinct, surpassing half of vertex length (Fig. 31). Face short, convex in lateral view (Fig. 33), lateral frontal suture distinct (Fig. 32), in profile vertex rounded to face (Fig. 33). Pronotum less than 2.0 times longer than vertex in midline (Fig. 31). Forewing narrow, rounded apically, veins RP and MP��� separate at bases, 2 nd apical cell broadening towards apex (Fig. 7). Basal sternal abdominal apodemes parallel-sided, reaching middle of segment IV (Fig. 18). Male pygofer elongate, apical half strongly narrowing caudad, with 4���6 rigid microsetae on each side of lobe (Figs. 9, 11), ventral appendage relatively long, pygofer with 8���9 rigid microsetae at lower margin (Figs. 9, 11); dorsal bridge nearly one third of total length of pygofer, caudodorsally curved medially (Fig. 10). Subgenital plate longer than pygofer side, broadest subbasally and narrowing apicad, curved caudo-dorsad apically, with 13���16 bluntly terminated lateral macrosetae, numerous marginal microsetae on almost whole outer margin of plate and several fine long microsetae arranged in 1���2 rows (Figs. 9, 13). Paramere bearing 5 apical teeth preceded by 6���8 long fine microsetae. Connective lamellate, trapeziform, apical margin notched medially (Fig. 16). Aedeagus with preatrium and dorsal apodeme undeveloped, shaft tubular, in profile broadest near base and strongly narrowing apicad, subbasally provided with minute transverse ribs on dorsal side, curved caudo-dorsad medially, gonopore ventrad at apex, large (Figs. 14, 15). Anal tube process surpassing half height of pygofer, straight and narrowing with pointed apex (Figs. 9, 12). Remarks. E. (O.) calvata differs from other species of this subgenus by the aedeagus shaft with minute transverse ribs near its base (Fig. 14) and lacking lateral teeth (Fig. 15), and the apically straight anal tube appendage (Fig. 12). Etymology. The species name is formed from ��� calvatus ��� (Latin; adjective = naked) referring to the smooth surface near the apex of the aedeagal shaft. Distribution. Vertex cyan, with longitudinal creamy patch along coronal suture not reaching anterior margin, between eyes with creamy streak sublaterally at each side of vertex. Eyes brown, ocelli surrounded by creamy patch mesocaudad. Frontoclypeal area yellowish green, centrally with longitudinal creamy patch in basal half; anteclypeus and genae green. Pronotum bearing irregular creamy patches at anterior margin and arcuate area behind eyes; scutellum with quadrate creamy patch antero-mesally and apicad of scutoscutellar sulcus with an irregular creamy patch. Forewing yellowish green, fore- and hindwing subhyaline. Legs yellowish except tarsi and apical half of hind tibia cyan. Abdominal apodemes parallel-sided, rounded apically, surpassing midlength of segment V (Fig. 127). Male pygofer slightly elongated and rounded apically, with about 11 stout setae on each side; ventral pygofer appendage nearly straight, directed dorsocaudad and exceeding caudal margin of pygofer lobe, tapering in apical 1 / 4 to pointed apex (Figs 119, 120). Subgenital plate far exceeding pygofer, prominently broadened at base and triangularly protruded basolaterad, apical 1 / 4 curved dorsocaudad, basal group with 4 long, thick setae, about 23 short marginal microsetae, 22���23 long lateral macrosetae and fine microsetae arranged in 2 irregular rows (Fig. 122). Paramere with 5 apical teeth and 2 relatively big teeth subapically preceeded by about 4���5 setae and few sensory pits (Fig. 126). Aedeagal shaft straight in lateral view, nearly as long as preatrium, broad basally and narrowing terminally, with short spinose process baso-ventrally and 2 teeth on dorsal side, dorsal surface in basal 1 / 3 and ventral surface mostly concave, dorsal apodeme of aedeagus short, in ventral aspect expanded laterad, gonopore ventrad near apex (Figs 123, 124). Connective lamellate, caudal margin incised medially (Fig. 125). Anal tube process curved anteroventrad and gradually tapered to pointed apex (Fig. 121). Female. Unknown. Etymology. The new species name alludes to the spinose process on the aedeagal shaft. Discussion. Empoasca (M.) spinalis sp. nov. is similar to E. (M.) onukii Matsuda, 1952, but differs from the latter by the ventral pygofer appendage being straight (sinuate in E. (M.) onukii), and by the aedeagal shaft armed with a short spinose process baso-ventrally and 2 dorsal teeth (spinose process and teeth absent in E. Vertex yellow posteriorly, gradually suffused with reddish orange anteriorly, or sometimes almost entirely reddish orange; borders at eyes yellow; ocelli greyish surrounded with whitish yellow; coronal suture reddish brown. Frontoclypeus orange except basal part reddish orange, anteclypeus light orange, in some specimens frontoclypeus and anteclypeus entirely orange except base of frontoclypeus reddish orange; genae, anteocular areas and antennal bases whitish. Pronotum mostly orange brownish, surrounded with irregular arch of patches along anterior margin in addition to three sordid creamy patches. Scutellum centrally with a broad sordid cream stripe, basal angles brownish orange, scutoscutellar sulcus black. Forewing hyaline, costal margin, wax field and most of part of vein c and cell c tan. Thorax and legs beige except 1 st tibia and tarsus brown. Abdomen blackish brown, laterally sordid yellow sprinkled with irregular blackish brown patches and spots on sternites. Female abdomen sordid brownish ventrally, ovipositor sordid brown to brown ochre. Abdominal apodemes reaching end of segment 6 (Fig. 12). Male Pygofer elongate, caudal 1 / 3 narrowed, terminally rounded with about 10 rigid setae, anterior margin sinuate (Fig. 5); ventral appendage narrow and nearly parallel sided, slightly sinuate over whole length with indistinct ledge marking elongate apical area (Figs 5, 6). Subgenital plate in profile long, basal 1 / 3 broad and nearly parallel sided, gradually tapering apicad dorsally, with 3���5 setae in basal group, about 25 marginal microsetae, 22 lateral macrosetae and several long fine setae in 2���3 rows (Figs 5, 7). Paramere broad, apically with short and compact dentifer bearing 5���6 teeth, 2���3 setae and 5���7 sensory pits below (Fig. 8). Aedeagal shaft declined at almost right angle from preatrium, in profile nearly same width over whole length, curved upwards with notched apex, gonopore apical on dorsal surface; atrial rim scoop like laterally with pair of short laterally curved processes caudo-ventrally (Figs 9, 10). Connective broad, apical margin deeply emarginate medially (Fig. 11). Anal tube process long, reaching further basad than half height of pygofer, sinuate and tapering to acute apex (Figs 5, 9). Etymology. The name refers to the similarity of the new species to A. fuscus Dworakowska. Diagnosis. Alebroides parafuscus n. sp. is a member of the A. fuscus species group based on the following combination of characters: anal tube process reaching further basad than half the height of pygofer (Fig. 5); subgenital plate gradually tapering apicad (Fig. 7); paramere with short dentifer (Fig. 8); connective broad (Fig. 11); aedeagal shaft declined from preatrium, the latter scoop like laterally, gonopore dorsal (Fig. 9). The subgenus Okubasca Dworakowska of the genus Empoasca Walsh (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Typhlocybinae: Empoascini) is recorded for the first time from China, and revised with two new species described and illustrated from southern China: E. (O.) dianella Qin & Zhang sp. nov., E. (O.) calvata Qin & Liu sp. nov. Habitus photos and illustrations of male genitalia of these new species are given. A key to males of all three species of the subgenus is also provided.

Ground colour of body yellowish beige. Vertex with large creamy patches surrounding ocelli caudomesad. Face and basal antennal segments yellowish. Eyes blackish. Pronotum mostly yellow, surrounded by irregular arc of light hypodermal pattern in addition to large median creamy patch along anterior margin; scutoscutellar sulcus brownish, below with a large creamy patch. Thorax and legs whitish yellow except 1 st tibia and tarsus yellow. Forewing hyaline. Abdomen yellow. The specimen collected in Sichuan Province has the following differences: ground colour sordid beige. Vertex yellowish orange, coronal suture blackish brown. Frontoclypeus and anteclypeus yellow, genae and antennal bases whitish yellow. Pronotum mostly sordid beige, irregular arch of hypodermal pattern light yellow with three creamy patches along anterior margin. Scutoscutellar sulcus dark. Dorsum of abdomen blackish, laterally sordid yellowish with sordid brownish patch at each tergite, ventrally with each sternite with a sordid brownish spot laterally. Abdominal apodemes reaching end of segment 5 (Fig. 26). Male genitalia: Pygofer anteriorly almost straight except strongly constricted ventral margin anteriorly, with about 10 rigid setae terminally on outside and inside of lobe (Fig. 17); ventral appendage slightly s-shaped, apex curved caudo-ventrad and subapically adorned with small teeth ventrally (Figs 18, 19). Subgenital plate in lateral view parallel sided at basal 1 / 4 and gradually narrowing apicad, with 3���4 setae in basal group, ca. 22���25 marginal microsetae, 22 lateral macrosetae; and several long fine lateral setae in 2���3 rows (Figs 17, 20). Paramere slim caudally, with slightly elongate dentifer bearing 3���4 teeth, 1��� 2 setae and 4���5 sensory pits arranged linearly below (Fig. 21). Aedeagal shaft in profile elongate, apical part curved cephald and slightly expanded subapically, basally with a strongly laterally expanded protrusion with numerous small teeth on anterior and lateral margins (Figs 22, 23). Connective narrow, lateral margins almost straight, apical margin deeply emarginated medially (Fig. 24). Anal tube process evenly curved and gradually tapered to acute apex, at its base has a triangular branch directed ventrad (Figs 17, 25). Etymology. The specific name is an arbitary combination of letters. Diagnosis. Alebroides muzitaneus n. sp. is assigned to the A. soror species group based on the following combination of characters: body light coloured; ventral pygofer appendage long, subapically adorned with small teeth ventrally (Figs 18, 19); caudal part of paramere slim (Fig. 21); connective narrow (Fig. 24); aedeagal shaft with apical part curved cephald in profile and and slightly expanded subapically, with a basal protrusion strongly expanded laterad (Figs 22, 23); anal tube process has additional branch at base (Figs 17, 25); abdodminal apodemes not exceeding segment 5 (Fig. 26). Goifa Dworakowska Goifa Dworakowska, 1977: 18. Type species. Goifa fasciata Dworakowska, 1977, by original designation. Redescription. Small, ivory, light testaceous to lemon yellow empoascines. Head narrower and longer than pronotum (Fig. 15). Vertex in dorsal view nearly equal to or longer than width between eyes, anterior margin produced medially (Fig. 15), profile of vertex transition curved evenly into convex and distinctly elongated face (Figs 16, 17), coronal suture long and distinct (Fig. 15), lateral frontal suture present (Fig. 17). Eyes very large (Figs 15���17). Forewing narrow, 3 apical veins arise from longitudinal m cell, 3 rd apical cell petiolate, 2 nd apical cell broadened apically, r cell reduced in size, c and r cells narrower than m and cua cells (Fig. 18); hindwing with area bordered by vannal veins small, vein CuA unbranched apically (Fig. 19). Abdodminal tergal apodemes well developed with tips widely divergent posteriorly (Fig. 29). Male pygofer elongate, strongly narrowing caudad, with rigid microsetae at apex of lobe, dorsal margin produced with lobe usually adorned with one dorsal macroseta at base, ventral appendage absent (Figs 20, 22); dorsal bridge quite long (Fig. 21). Subgenital plate much exceeding pygofer side, slim, caudal half gradually narrowing to rounded apex, ventral margin almost straight or slightly sinuate, setae in basal group not identifiable, marginal row of microsetae short and laterally with one row of thick setae on disc followed by one normal thick macrosetae at apex of plate, with additional row of gracile microsetae near ventral margin (Figs 23, 24). Paramere serrate apically, with setae and sensory pits basad of serrations, or bifurcated apically with long fine setae near base (Figs 27, 28). Connective fused with base of aedeagus (Figs 25, 26). Aedeagus with large preatrium, dorsal apodeme absent, shaft tubular, with paired processes or not, gonopore subapical (Figs 25, 26). Anal tube process simple, tapered (Fig. 20). Remarks. Goifa was established by Dworakowska (1977) with G. fasciata as the type species from Vietnam. Dworakowska (1980) and Mann & Sohi (1988, 1993) added three more species thereafter (G. rotundata Dworakowska 1980, G. forcipita Mann & Sohi 1988, G. aprocessa Mann & Sohi 1993). Thus, four species of the genus have been reported to date, all distributed in the Oriental Region. In this paper, we report the genus for the first time from China, transfer Paolia tangailensis Ahmed & Samad (1972) from Paolia Lower (1952) (=Dialecticoteryx Kirkaldy 1907) to Goifa as a new combination and synonymize G. aprocessa Mann & Sohi (1993) with G. tangailensis (Ahmed & Samad, 1972). In the Usharia group, Goifa is related to Dayus and Baguoidea by the forewing with 3 apical veins which all arise from the longitudinal m cell, sternal abdominal apodemes with tips widely divergent posteriorly, the connective fused with the base of the aedeagus and the hindwing with CuA unbranched. However, it differs from both genera in having the head narrower and longer than pronotum, the r cell in the forewing reduced in size, the ventral pygofer appendage absent, and the subgenital plate lacking setae in the basal group but with fine microsetae laterally on the disc and a row of gracile microsetae near the ventral margin. Included taxa: G. fasciata Dworakowska (1977), G. rotundata Dworakowska (1980), G. forcipita Mann & Sohi (1988) and G. tangailensis (Ahmed & Samad, 1972), n. comb. Distribution. Nangong, Mengla, Yunnan Province, coll. Daozheng Qin; 1 male, 5 Dec. 1999, Jinghong, Yunnan Province, coll. Daozheng Qin. Description. Body size. male 3.8–4.0 mm. Ground color red. Vertex with two irregular grayish black patches near apex. Eyes grayish, ocelli surrounded by whitish patches antero-laterad. Face red basally; apical portion of frontoclypeus, anetclypeus and genae reddishyellow. Pronotum with irregular arch of patches anteriorly and laterally, with or without whitish semicircular patch in middle. Scutellum with 3 triangular creamy patches anteriorly and large yellow patch caudad of scutoscutellar sulcus. Forewing with the red transverse band fairly broad, apical 1 / 3 yellowish and subtransparent. Dorsum of abdomen tan, venter orange yellow. Legs yellow. Abdodminal sternal apodemes reaching to end of segment 3 (Fig. 14). Male pygofer lobe terminally bearing 8- 11 rigid setae, dorsal lobe-like structure rounded, directed dorsocaudad (Figs 6, 8). Subgenital plates well sclerotized and pigmented apically, 5 terminally truncated macrosetae of basal group densely grouped and restricted to end of caudal protrusion in basal 1 / 3, plate strongly narrowing in apical 2 / 3, dorsal margin distinctly sinuate, near middle provided with 4-5 long and terminally truncated marginal macrosetae, 6 lateral macrosetae large and scattered terminally, not reaching apex of plate, basal 3 bluntly terminated and apical 3 somewhat pointed (Figs 6, 10), fine microsetae absent, ventral margin of plate sinuate and bent caudodorsad in apical third. Paramere bearing 4 apical teeth preceded by about 5 setae and few sensory pits (Figs 6, 13). Aedeagal shaft with two long asymmetrical processes at apex, curved and directed basolaterad in dorsal view; pair of short, angulate lateral projections near apical 2 / 5 of shaft, distad of gonopore; gonopore dorsal in basal third (Figs 11, 12). Anal tube process nearly reaching ventral margin of pygofer, strongly tapered and curved anteriad (Figs 6, 9). Remarks. This new species is similar to Homa katoi Dworakowska, 1984, but differs in having the aedeagal shaft in dorsal view not curved to left apically and the apical processes nearly equal in length; the subgenital plates with 5 terminally truncated macrosetae in basal group, fine microsetae absent, and the dorsal margin of the plate distinctly sinuate and with 4-5 long, truncate macrosetae near the middle. Etymology. The specific epithet indicates the locality of the type material (China).

Subgenital plate in lateral view curved gradually caudodorsad apically, expanded apically; with numerous macrosetae and fine setae somewhat irregularly arranged; dorsolateral margin with 4���5 long stout setae subbasally and 26���27 short microsetae cover apical 2 / 3 (fig. 35). Paramere with 3 teeth on dentifer, 8���9 setae subapically (fig. 34). Connective broad, anterior margin medially emarginate, strongly sclerotized along mid-line but without obvious dorsal keel (fig. 29). Aedeagus shaft well sclerotized, provided with two short distally projecting appendages at apex; another pair of processes arising from preatrium on ventral side; aedeagus shaft compressed laterally and with prominent crest at ventral margin (figs. 30, 31). Gonopore terminal. Etymology. The species name is derived from ��� megalo ��� = large + ��� phylla ��� = leaf, which refers to the shape of the aedeagal shaft in lateral view. Distribution. Body length: male 9.5 mm (n= 1), female 10.0 mm (n= 1). General colour pale green to yellowish green (Figs 5, 6). Vertex with apical and lateral margins yellowish brown. Eyes brown, ocelli yellow. Pronotum, mesonotum and abdomen green. Male genital segment pale green. Forewings with veins dark green. Legs green with apices of spines on tibiae and tarsi black. Vertex with ratio of basal width to median length 1.7: 1.0 (Figs 5, 31). Frons with ratio of median length to width at level of anterior margin 1.5: 1.0, lateral frontal margins subparallel except where convergent in apical 1 / 3 (Fig. 33). Pronotum wider than long medially (4.7: 1.0) (Figs 5, 31). Pronotum and mesonotum together about 2.8 times as long as vertex in midline. Male genitalia with pygofer quadrangular with dorsolateral angle produced rectangularly (Fig. 39). Anal tube stout, latero-distal margin produced with a pair of oxhorn-shaped processes (Figs 39���41). Genital styles about 2.4 times longer than maximum width; dorsally with an ear-like process near middle and a lateral, hook-shaped, caudad directed process below the ear-like process; at dorsal side with a triangular process in middle and a conical, dorsocaudad directed process at apex (Figs 37, 38). Periandrium tubular, surrounding aedeagus in middle, with dorsal margin connected with base of anal segment, with a pair of angular processes on ventral side apically (Figs 39��� 41). Aedeagus tubular, long, with six distinct processes: two of them being apical with the ventral one triangularflaky and directed caudad and the dorsal one membranously expanded at base, apparently narrowing towards apex; remaining four processes arising from apical 1 / 5 of aedeagus and cephalad directed in right lateral view (Figs 39��� 41). Zhenjiang Liu, Xiangqun Yuan & Zhongli Sha (all in NWAFU). Length: 3 2.6 mm. Ground color of body gray to yellow (fig. 84). Crown with light green patch on each side of coronal suture (fig. 81). Eyes brown-blackish. Pronotum with irregular white and light green patches on anterior margin of pronotum and under eyes. Forewing and hindwing semitransparent. Abdomen yellow. Legs light yellow to green (fig. 83). Ventral abdominal apodemes relatively long, reaching segment 5, parallel-sided to broadly rounded apices (fig. 23). Pygofer with short dorso-apical lobe curved mediad, ornamented with 9���10 rigid setae distributed from outer to inner face of pygofer (fig. 19); pygofer appendage almost as long as pygofer, barely reaching pygofer margin, curved caudad apically, tapering to apex; bearing some short slim setae on ventro-lateral and dorso-medial surfaces (fig. 20). Anal appendage stout, swollen distinctly at mid-length, posterior margin finely serrated (fig. 21). Subgenital plate in lateral view, curved gradually caudodorsad apically, not expanded apically, tapered to narrow apex; with numerous macrosetae and fine setae somewhat irregularly arranged; 17���19 short microsetae from apex to nearly basal 1 / 3 and basolateral group absent (fig. 27); Paramere with 5 teeth on dentifer, 5���7 setae subapically (fig. 26). Connective broad, anterior margin medially emarginate, strongly sclerotized along mid-line but without obvious dorsal keel (fig. 22). Aedeagus in lateral view with thick preatrium, with distinct flattened plate-like postatrium (figs. 24, 25); shaft at base strongly divergent from line of atrial complex but thence angled caudodorsad, straight in midlength, and again angled dorsad, subparallel-margined to near rounded apex, pair of long processes at base of preatrium; in lateral view long processes aligned with aedeagus stem and tapering to apex. Gonopore terminal. Etymology. The species name refers to the long processes at the base of the preatrium. Distribution. China (Zhejiang, Hunan, Guangxi). Diagnosis. Epora Walker, 1857 Epora Walker, 1857: 145. Type species: Epora subtilis Walker, 1857, by original designation. Diagnosis. Green to ochraceous tropiduchids. Head including eyes narrower than pronotum (Figs 1, 3, 5, 7, 22, 31). Vertex broader at base than long in midline, anterior margin rounded, projecting in front of eyes, disc of vertex slightly depressed with one median carina or sulcus (Figs 1, 3, 5, 7, 22, 31); frontal margins subparallel-sided and thickened, median carina distinctly ridged (Figs 8, 23, 33). Pronotum with two median carinae on disc and one or two short lateral carinae at either side between eye and tegula (Figs 7, 9, 22, 24, 31, 32). Mesonotum tricarinate, with a distinct transverse suture separating mesoscutellum, median carina straight, lateral carinae convergent anteriorly (Figs 1, 3, 5, 7, 22, 31). Hind tibia with 3 lateral and 6���7 apical spines, metabasitarsus with 5���8 spines apically. Forewings with costal cell bearing numerous transverse veinlets, Sc+R forked distad of middle of forewing, Cu 1 forked in basal quarter, membrane with two ranks of irregular transverse veinlets forming numerous subapical and apical cells (Figs 1, 3, 5, 10, 28, 34). Male pygofer bilaterally symmetrical. Genital styles symmetrical, lobeshaped, separated at base, with a hook-shaped process on lateral side (Figs 14, 30, 37). Aedeagal shaft tubular, elongate (Figs 16, 25, 39). Periandrium well developed (Figs 16, 25, 40). Remarks. Epora differs from other tropiduchid genera in the tribe Eporini in the vertex with posterior margin broadly concave; the pronotum narrow, with two contiguous median carinae and the lateral areas strongly oblique; and the forewings narrow, moderately amplified at apex, surpassing apex of the abdomen, and the costal membrane with numerous oblique, transverse veins. The species in the genus Epora was usually thought to have 2 distinct carinae on either side between eye and tegula (Fennah 1970, 1982). However, the new species described in this paper has only one lateral carina on either side (Fig. 24). Distribution.
