Abstract

To recycle the phosphorus in P-bearing steelmaking slag and use the slag as phosphate fertilizer, it is necessary to study the distribution of P2O5 between the P-rich phase and matrix phase in P-bearing steelmaking slag. The addition of MgO and MnO into the slag has no effect on the phosphorus form of existence in the slag and has little effect on the %(P2O5)SS. In contrast, Na2O and CaF2 in the slag change the phosphorus form of existence in the slag and increase %(P2O5)SS obviously. Lp’, γP2O5(SS)${\gamma _{{{\rm{P}}_2}{{\rm{O}}_5}(SS)}}$, γP2O5(M)${\gamma _{{{\rm{P}}_2}{{\rm{O}}_5}(M)}}$, CP(M) and CP(SS) were calculated, and it was found that %(CaO), %(T.Fe) and %(P2O5) in the P-rich phase and matrix phase significantly affect Lp’. MnO and MgO in the slag have little effect on the distribution of P2O5 between the P-rich phase and matrix phase, whereas Na2O and CaF2 affect the distribution of P2O5 between the P-rich phase and matrix phase.

Abstract

This paper explores the problem of analysis and control towards model-unknown discrete-event systems. Using data, i.e. partly observed output event sequences and some pre-established knowledge, we apply an event-forcing mechanism to verify an extended concept of controllability, namely forcible-controllability, and develop control strategies with respect to the observed specification language. In particular, for the given data, a property namely forcible-informativity is proposed, representing a criterion for determining the forcible-controllability of the observed specification language. The data-driven supervisory control is also devised accordingly, if feasible.

241. Ka-Band Efficient Rectifier With Enhanced Power Capability Using Power Distributing Network and High-Q Bandstop Filter

Abstract

This brief presents a Ka-band rectifier that utilizes power distributing technology to enhance its power handling capability. The matching network and power distributing network are integrated to simultaneously match the diode impedance and distribute power to eight Schottky diodes. A novel bandstop filter for millimeter-wave bands is proposed, which is composed of high ${Q}$ cylindrical cavities and a coaxial line. This filter not only effectively suppress harmonics but also exhibits low loss characteristics. The fabricated rectifier, operating at 35 GHz, shows a measured $\unicode{0x007C}S_{11} \unicode{0x007C}$ of −20.3 dB and a power conversion efficiency of 61.9% at the input power of 29 dBm. Efficiencies under different loads are compared, and it is found that $50 \Omega $ is the best load. To the best of our knowledge, this rectifier has the highest power capability among existing works. Due to its high-power capability and efficiency, this rectifier shows potential for use in wireless power transfer systems to provide power to electronic devices.

242. Dual-Mode High-Gain OAM Array Based on Nested Metasurface With Simplified Feeding Network

Abstract

In this letter, a high-gain dual-mode orbital angular momentum (OAM) antenna array with a simplified feeding network based on polarization rotating metasurface is presented. To circumvent the complexities of the conventional vortex wave array feeding network while achieving dual-mode vortex wave generation simultaneously, an array consisting of a dual-polarized concentric feed array (CFA) and a concentrically nested transmission metasurface is developed. The CFA is employed to generate dual-polarized electromagnetic waves irradiating the metasurface. Unlike the traditional uniform circular array, the proposed CFA is excited by equal amplitude and phase without specific phase requirements. The transmission-mode metasurface can achieve polarization selectivity by incorporating polarization rotation units. With the combined effect of the feed and metasurface, good isolation between the two OAM modes is generated. A prototype generating +1 and +2 OAM mode is simulated, fabricated, and measured to demonstrate the design method. The proposed design has advantages such as a simple feeding structure, easy fabrication, high gain, low profile, and high isolation. Moreover, the proposed antenna can carry different information in different OAM modes separately, which is a promising candidate antenna for mode multiplexing OAM communications.

243. A Transistor-Based High-Efficiency Rectifier Using Input Second Harmonic Component

Abstract

This paper presents a novel methodology for enhancing rectification efficiency through a transistor-based rectifier design. Here the input second harmonic component at the gate node is employed to modify the output drain current waveforms, thus having a positive effect on the rectification efficiency. A parameter is introduced to evaluate the input second harmonic component, while theoretical analysis is conducted using the class-F operation mode. Further, the relationships between rectification efficiency, drain current, and the input second harmonic component, power ratio, and conductance angle are theoretically derived in detail. Through the appropriate selection of the input second harmonic component, the rectification efficiency can be significantly enhanced. To validate the proposed strategy, a class-F rectifier based on a GaN transistor operating at 2.45 GHz is designed, fabricated, and tested. Measurement results demonstrate a peak rectification efficiency of 90.7% with a dc load of $87 \Omega $ and an input power of 40 dBm. The rectifier implemented here exhibits state-of-the-art performance for rectification efficiency compared to other transistor-based rectifiers.

244. Study of direct alloying of steels by carbon reduction of Cr2O3under vacuum

Abstract

Currently, steel is mainly alloyed by adding ferrochrome alloys in the production of chromium-containing steels. However, the production of ferrochrome consumes a lot of electricity and produces a large number of additional products that are extremely harmful to the environment. For the consideration of the above problems, the experiment studied the reduction behavior of Cr2O3using carbon powder as the reductant under different ambient pressures, different reductant dosages, and different initial oxygen contents in the molten steel. The results show that CO bubbles can be formed by decreasing the air pressure and increasing the amount of reductant, thus the reduction rate and reduction efficiency of Cr2O3can be increased. It was found that the ambient air pressure mainly affected the reduction rate of Cr2O3, and the fastest reduction rate of Cr2O3was found in vacuum environment. The reductant dosage has great influence on the reduction rate, reduction efficiency, density and size of inclusions of Cr2O3. Addition of carbon powder with a carbon-to-oxygen molar ratio of 2 will significantly improve the reduction rate of Cr2O3. The yield of [Cr] in steel can reach more than 95 %. In addition, the density of inclusions in steel is stabilized below 0.2/mm−2. The addition of carbon powder with nc:no ≤ 1.0 significantly reduces the reduction rate of Cr2O3due to the decrease of carbon concentration in the steel. The density of inclusions in steel also increased significantly up to 210.4/mm−2. The initial oxygen content in the molten steel had little effect on the reduction of Cr2O3. However, the reduction rate of Cr2O3is lower in steel with high oxygen concentration than in steel with low oxygen concentration. Under the optimum reduction conditions-nc:no = 2.0, initial oxygen content of 3 × 10−4, and ambient air pressure of 50 Pa. The yield of [Cr] in steel can reach 96.85 %, the total oxygen content can be reduced to 1.6 × 10−5, the density of inclusions is 0.04/mm−2, and the size of inclusions is below 1.8 μm.
