Surprisingly, the high accuracies previously reported, exceeding 95%, dropped significantly when faced with the more demanding conditions of the forensic scenario, plummeting to as low as 65%. In essence, while facial recognition systems have shown impressive performance in ideal conditions, our study indicates a substantial decrease in accuracy when faced with the complexities and challenges typical of real-world forensic scenarios, highlighting the need for further advancements to bridge this gap. Recent advancements in machine learning and computer vision have shown facial recognition systems achieving accuracies that surpass human performance in controlled settings but fingerprint analysis is proved more accurate in all aspects. To investigate this, we created a large-scale synthetic facial dataset and designed a controlled facial lineup that mimics conditions encountered in real forensic situations. This approach allowed us to systematically assess facial recognition under various challenging real-world conditions. Using both our synthetic dataset and a well-known dataset of actual faces, we tested the accuracy of two widely used neural-based facial recognition systems. Comparative and Analytical method is applied for present Research. Artificial intelligence could help humans in accuracy and speeding up the process of investigation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Vaginal discharge is a common problem among many women and causes unpleasant odor and discomfort. Therefore, the study was conducted on a group of these women to find out the microbial content causing this problem and to conduct a drug sensitivity test. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find out the microbial content causing this problem and to conduct a drug sensitivity test. Methodology: Specimens were collected from 92 non-pregnant women, aged (20-60) years, from the city of AL-Najaf in Iraq. 78 (84.78%). Results: Samples were positive, and the largest percentage of microbial content was for fungi represented by yeasts of Candida spp. in the rate of 54%. C. albicans was the most prevalent kind by 15%. The remainder is made up of non-Candida albicans kinds. Which is C. glabrata, C. Ciferrii, C. Guilliermondii, C. Tropicals, C. krusi . This was followed by gram-positive bacteria at a rate of 28%, This percentage was distributed between Streptococcus pyogenes by 15% and the rest for other types of bacteria Staphylococcus spp. While Gram-negative bacteria accounted for the least percentage of the total positive specimens, at 18%, distributed between Klebsiella spp.13% and E. coli, 5%. As for the drug sensitivity test, C. glabrate, C. ciferrii and C. Krusi showed resistance to fluconazole (MIC= 8) and were sensitive to Voriconazole. Both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria showed various drug sensitivity. Conclusion: This study showed that there are two main causes of vaginal infections: first: an overgrowth of Candida yeasts, and second: some types of bacteria, which are similar to those that cause urinary tract infections, as these bacteria are transmitted between the vagina and the urinary canal due to the closeness of the two areas to each other in women. Air quality in subway systems is crucial as it affects the health of passengers and staff. Although most tests of PM
2.5 concentrations in subway stations have taken place in public areas, PM2.5 is less understood in workplaces. Few studies have estimated the cumulative inhaled dose of passengers based on real-time changes in PM2.5 concentrations as they commute. To clarify the above issues, this study first measured PM2.5 concentrations in four subway stations in Changchun, China, where measuring points included five workrooms. Then, passengers' exposure to PM2.5 during the whole subway commute (20–30 min) was measured and segmented inhalation was calculated. The results showed that PM2.5 concentration in public places ranged from 50 to 180 μg/m3 , and was strongly correlated with outdoors. While the PM2.5 average concentration in workplaces was 60 µg/m3 , and it was less affected by outdoor PM2.5 concentration. Passenger's cumulative inhalations in single commuting were about 42 μg and 100 μg when the outdoor PM2.5 concentrations were 20–30 μg/m3 and 120–180 μg/m3 , respectively. The PM2.5 inhalation in carriages accounted for the largest proportion of the entire commuting, about 25–40%, because of the longer exposure time and higher PM2.5 concentrations. It is recommended to improve the tightness of the carriage and filter the fresh air to improve the air quality inside. The average daily PM2.5 inhaled by staff was 513.53 μg, which was 5–12 times higher than that of passengers. Installing air purification devices in workplaces and reminding staff to take personal protection can positively protect their health. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

CRIMINAL procedure ,EXPERT evidence ,LAW enforcement agencies ,LEGAL evidence ,CRIMINAL convictions - Abstract
With technology advancing at lightning speed, new forensic investigatory techniques have been developed. However, some convictions in criminal cases still depend on old and traditional techniques like using tracking dogs or K-9. It is common knowledge, dogs are intelligent animals and have keen sense of smell. In the early days, courts in America were hesitant to accept evidence from tracking dogs and have expressed many concerns in particular of dogs drawing inferences. However, tracking dog evidence has been accepted by courts in America since a decade ago. As dogs cannot go to the witness box to give evidence in court, their handlers are allowed to give evidence on behalf of their dogs in relation to the tracking and tracing. Courts in other jurisdictions have regarded dog handlers as an expert witness. This causes their opinions to be accepted as expert evidence. This writing discusses on the usage of tracking dogs by law enforcement agencies. Besides that, this articles also discusses the admissibility of tracking dog evidence by the courts in America. The methodology employed in this paper are descriptive, doctrinal, analytic and prescriptive in which case law, journal and books pertaining tracking dog evidence are analysed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND: Athletic fatigue is an inescapable issue in competitive sports. It belongs to a physiological response that is triggered when competitive athletes are trained to a critical point. OBJECTIVE: The study aims to explore the relationships involving boxers' social support, mental fatigue, coach leadership behaviors and psychological resilience. METHODS: 1050 boxers were selected in several provinces across China and investigated on the basis of the Social Support Questionnaire for Athletes, Mental Fatigue Scale, Psychological Resilience Scale, and Leadership Scale for Sport. RESULTS: Boxers' social support was negatively correlated with mental fatigue and psychological resilience, while it was positively correlated with coach leadership behaviors. Apart from direct effects on mental fatigue, other impacts are imposed by boxers' social support via mediating effects such as coach leadership behaviors and psychological resilience. The total effect value was -0.18, the direct effect value was -0.08, and the indirect effect value was -0.12; furthermore, coach leadership behaviors and psychological resilience play a mediating role, accounting for 65.57% of the total. CONCLUSION: In order to alleviate the stress from intense competitive training and abate mental fatigue, competitive athletes may be encouraged in subsequent training to seek all-sided social support for social interpersonal relationships. While clarifying the mechanism how the external environment affects individuals, this paper explains the principle of social support on athletes' psychological fatigue and identifies mutual influences between coaches and athletes. - Abstract
The survey, construction, operation and maintenance of railway construction in complex and dangerous mountainous areas are difficult, and geological hazards along the line occur frequently. The geological hazards at slopes of the tunnel entrance and exit are particularly prominent, which are characterized by dispersion, frequent occurrence and great harm, and have become the key risk factors restricting the construction and operation of railway tunnels. Based on the concept of risk prevention and control of gateway forward and whole life cycle, InSAR technology, low-altitude UAV technology, and analytic hierarchy process are applied to assist the monitoring of slopes, identification of geological hazards and risk assessment of dangerous rocks in the stages of site selection, tunnel access construction and operation. It is helpful to systematically and efficiently grasp the development and distribution characteristics of geological hazards in the tunnel site area, especially for the precise prevention and control of various geological risks on slopes of the tunnel site area. After the practical application in the Chengdu-Kunming railway double track and other railway tunnel projects, the ultra-remote automatic monitoring accuracy has reached millimeter level, the identification accuracy of potential or existing geological disasters has been greatly improved, and the identification accuracy of dangerous rock risk sources on the tunnel slope can effectively guide the geological risk prevention and control at the tunnel portal. The Noble Qur’an has spoken at length about reform in general، and the word “reform” is mentioned in the Noble Qur’an in more than one hundred and eighty places. This word، despite its various derivations، is abundant material in which the Book of God، peace and blessings be upon him، abounds. It carries within it multiple colors and various features and methods، in reference to the importance of reform. Reform and its role in overcoming problems and addressing ways of corruption at the individual level or at the societal level، whether in terms of economics، politics، thought، culture، or education. God، may God bless him and grant him peace، has perfected His religion and completed His blessings upon the believers through what He revealed of the Noble Qur’an to the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers، Muhammad (peace be upon him). May God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family to bring people out of darkness into light، and guide them to the straight path of God. God Almighty said: ( There has come to you from Allâh a light and a plain Book (this Qur’ân). Wherewith Allâh guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace، and He brings them out of darkness by His Will unto light and guides them to the Straight Way (Islâmic Monotheism) ). ( ) Islam took over the leadership of humanity after the earth was corrupted and humanity tasted the calamities. There are a number of toxins that have crept into our thoughts and must be. - Abstract
The "refuge literature" brings together a range of literary productions in which the voices of people who live the experience of exile are heard, as well as those of actors who work on refuge from the perspective of a literature of commitment. This contemporary literature on migration is also part of a literature of intervention, which proposes a work on representations with an ethical and political purpose: a micropolitics of the sensitive far from abstract moral discourses. Instead, it explores new voices and practices of care in literature. In this article, we will focus on the work of Marie Cosnay, whose writing on contemporary migration opts for intervention in the social field, with a desire to face the world, and to give an account of the voices concerned by the migration phenomenon. Aim: The purpose of this study was to comprehend the need for incorporating death education within the curriculum of undergraduate nursing students and to assess the factors that impact the desire for such education. Design: We enlisted undergraduate nursing students from several nursing colleges located in the central and west region of China. Undergraduate students who fulfilled the eligibility criteria between January and February 2021 were chosen to participate. Data were collected via an online platform called Questionnaire Star. The survey encompassed a general information questionnaire and a scale for assessing the need for education on the topic of death. Descriptive statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 20.0 software, while multivariate stepwise regression was employed for more complex analysis. Statistical significance was indicated when the p‐value was below 0.05, and high statistical significance was noted when the p‐value fell below 0.01. Methods: We designed a descriptive quantitative approach to investigate the need for death education and its associated factors. The research involved 907 undergraduate nursing students from the central and west region of China. The data collection was done through the Questionnaire Star platform. Results: Following the collection of completed surveys, individuals displaying contradictory responses were omitted. Out of 911 surveys disseminated, 907 were successfully collected, resulting in a recovery rate of 99.6%. Among the participants, 769 identified as female, constituting 84.8% of the total, while 138 identified as male, making up 15.2%. The survey findings indicated that factors such as residency, parental educational history and exposure to hospice care education significantly impacted the need for death education among undergraduate nurses (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Among students pursuing a nursing degree at the undergraduate level, there was a pronounced need for education related to the topic of death. Offering such education to these students is essential, as it helps cultivate a proper understanding of death. This, in turn, contributes to enhancing the overall quality of patient care throughout their life journey. Patient or Public Contribution: A total of 907 nursing undergraduates from central and western China participated in the questionnaire. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Scientific knowledge is a primary resource that scientists use to shape their activities to make sense of natural phenomena. Support for students' adaptation of scientific knowledge can enhance their ability to make sense of the natural world. This study aims to examine how ecological concepts are used when students plan field-based modeling of ecological phenomena and to identify teachers' support for students' use of ecological concepts. This study adapts the categorization of ecological concepts as natural, functional, and integrative according to how they are used in ecological research. With this foundation, we examine a field-based modeling activity that was implemented in a middle school science club. The goal of this activity was to develop models that make sense of ecological phenomena through processes that involve field investigations. Video recordings and transcriptions of the activities were analyzed as the main data sources. The analysis results reveal how different types of ecological concepts are used in modeling and illustrate how teachers support students' use of different ecological concepts. Based on these findings, we discuss instructional supports to expand the resources that students can use in field-based modeling of ecological phenomena and the importance of domain-specific knowledge in making sense of the natural world. The fast economic growth, urbanization, and industrialization of Ethiopia led to the requirement for the establishment of various infrastructures and many residential building constructions consuming different types of materials. Reinforced steel bar is one of the most consumed construction materials in Ethiopia. The demand for reinforced steel bars in Ethiopia is satisfied by the local production and international market. However, most people lack trust to the use local products without justified reasons. This investigation work was done to evaluate the performance of the locally produced rebar concerning the Compulsory Ethiopian Standard (CES) to develop trust in contractors and consultants of different projects. A Compulsory Ethiopian Standard (CES) is an Ethiopian standard that has been prepared under the direction of the Technical Committee for Concrete and Concrete Products and published by the Ethiopian Standards Agency (ESA). Experimental works were done on rebar of grades B400BWR and B500BWR with different diameters collected from four different factories. The collected samples were investigated based on their yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, elongation, hardness, chemical composition, and microstructure formation of the product. The yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, and elongation of the rebar were analyzed based on the tension test results obtained from the 2000 KN Universal Testing Machine (UTM), and the chemical composition analysis was done using the Spark Emission Spectrometer Analyzer. The micro-hardness test was done using the Vickers Hardness Tester with 3kgf and 15-s dwell time at a 0.5 mm gap along the cross-section of the rebar. Microstructure analysis is done using EDX scanning electron microscope (SEM) and optical microscopy with different magnifications and resolutions on the cross-section of the rebar. From the tested samples one sample failed from B400BWR to achieve the minimum required yield strength of 400 MPa stated by CES 101, 2017. Samples of B500BWR satisfy all the requirements stated by the standard even if there is an increment up to 41 % beyond the minimum requirement.

Modeling the propagation of waves in geomechanics is an essential part of dynamic analysis. In geotechnics, the study of the interaction between the soil and the foundation is particularly interesting. In order to mimic low-speed operating types (less than 1,500 rpm), this study details the creation of a dependable and efficient approach for designing and fabricating the steel box container. When employed as a boundary, an absorbing layer drastically reduces the amount of wave reflection that occurs inside the limited region. The present effort is split into two halves. The first step is to calculate the damping layer’s damping constants, subgrade response modulus, damping ratio, shear modulus, vibration amplitude, and resonant frequency. The second section focuses on the dynamic study of the circular foundation by measuring the vibration amplitude, acceleration, velocity, and displacement caused by harmonic vibration machines. The findings demonstrate that simple material borders prevent the wave from dissipating as a consequence of reflection. Attenuation of waves is possible when the absorbing layer of energy represents semi-infinite soil. When absorbing just one layer, the vertical displacements at positions located at the box side boundary and its base decreased by 65, 63, and 67%, respectively. However, it dropped by 97, 96, and 98%, respectively, when two absorbent layers were used. On the basis of these promising results, the model results were compared with and without the absorbing layer. It would appear that the modeling of the absorbing layer, which is designed as two layers, has been satisfied for low speeds of harmonic vibration.

The article deals with economic environmental crime, i.e. those illegal attacks on the environment that are perceived as the most serious. Using the example of the Czech Republic, a post-communist state in Eastern Europe that joined the European Union, the main problems associated with its criminal prosecution are presented. As a result of the analysis, the key factors of insufficient prosecution of economic environmental crime are identified, i.e. in particular high latency, low clearance of registered suspicions, mild punishment and ineffectiveness of criminal repression against corporations. In conclusion, proposals are made for certain measures, both in terms of legislation and application practice, which would positively influence the above factors.

This paper explores key elements of the French “extrême contemporain” novel. From the 2000s on, the literary discourse of the French novel shows evidence of an ongoing process of a re-actualization of the realistic discourse with strong sociological aspects. A whole group of Contemporary French writers who, while they differ in their approach, all have in common a desire to reorganize reality as it is perceived by the author. It is a reactionary prose, one no longer of transgression or reflexivity, but rather of hyperproduction and creative argumentation: incoherence and confusion are suspended in favor of a down-to-earth materialism. What are the new realism’s characteristics? How is it expressed in today’s fiction? How does it differ from the realism of the 19th century? I will try to answer these questions by focusing on constitutive features of the realistic contemporary novel: investigation and “fieldwork”, science and technology, and “le roman engagé”.

The computer network plays an important role in supporting various jobs and other activities in the cyber world. Various kinds of crimes have often occurred on computer networks. It is very demanding to build a computer network architecture that is safe from attacks to protect the data transacted. If there has been an attack on the computer network, of course, further investigation must be carried out to identify the attacker and the motive for the attack. An additional need is to evaluate the security of the network. This article reports a systematic review of the literature aiming to map the classification of attacks on computer networks and map future research. Based on the exploration, 30 key studies were selected that reveal the mapping of attack classifications on computer networks. The results of the literature review show that attacks on computer networks vary widely. Based on the results of the literature review conducted, it produces a roadmap for future research, which is to classify attacks on computer networks using a machine learning approach. The use of machine learning serves to help classify and investigate the needs for attacks on computer networks. The SVM method in this case was chosen based on previous research that was widely used for data-based classification.

Effective Learning ,Motivation ,Semiotics ,Investigation ,Egosystem ,Holism ,Intersectionality - Abstract
Abstract: Effective learning is viewed as an evolutionary process, and as such, it involves an expanded version of the Crenshaw-Collins view of intersectionality. It demands an in-depth view of the complex socio-cultural-ethnic milieu in which students are embedded. Even more, effective learning requires effectance problem-solving, investigation and semiotics, along with effectance motivation, to form a quadripartite framework for effectance holism, which becomes the foundation for equity. Equity in the classroom requires shared human experience, research, process, ideas, as well as product. Effectance motivation associates walking, awareness, attention, perception, thinking and adapting to one’s environmental conditions that encourage effective, competent interactions of students with their surroundings. Arguably, effectance, rather effective, motivation is evidentiary in childhood development, and is responsible for acquisition of increased intellectual awakenings in the home and in the classroom. However, effective motivation alone is self-limiting. I include effective problem-solving, investigation and semiotics into the equation. That students are active, constructive participants in the learning process is also evidentiary. With Susan Harter effectance motivation encompasses the developing intellect of children and evolution of their independence, mastery, competency and success. Against this background of scholarship research, Gardner’s multiple intelligences portray student success and motivation as a pathway only to stereotypical roles, without any educational value. In contrast, egosystem provides a viable framework for understanding students and their complex makeup. In fact, I argue that frames of reference should replace frames of mind. In terms of the value of learning through the arts, early modernism, especially Dada and Surrealism, have inspired students to reimagine their own art as having, not only intrinsic aesthetic value, but also extrinsic narrative value as social-political commentary. Essentially, art and design education must reimagine what students could do, if only they did not have to conform to a set curriculum, and were allowed to research art history on their own, explore their personal passions and experiment with various art forms.

A combination of methods such as field route inspection, on-site visits and market research was used to investigate the wild resources of Tinospora sagittata in various counties (cities) of Qiandongnan Prefecture, and to preliminarily grasp the current situation of Tinospora sagittata wild resources in Qiandongnan Prefecture. The results showed that the wild resources of the medicinal plant Tinospora sagittata were widely distributed in Qiandongnan Prefecture, but they were severely excavated, resulting in a sharp decrease in the number of wild resources and a smaller root size. The protection of wild resources needs to be taken seriously by relevant departments to prevent resource depletion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Micturating Cystourethrogram (MCUG)-triggered Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are well-known, but the risk factors that trigger infections are not well studied. Even though MCUG being invasive, there is no general consensus regarding the use of peri-procedural antibiotic coverage and screening for sub-clinical UTIs just before MCUG. Aim: To determine the diagnostic validity of Urinalysis (UA) when compared with the gold standard, Urine Culture and Sensitivity (UCS), to exclude pre-procedure infections. Materials and Methods: This retrospective observational study involved paediatric patients who underwent MCUG from January 2021 to December 2022, at Kozhikode Government Medical College (Kerala) to exclude urological anomalies. All children were tested with UA and UCS before MCUG, which was done under antibiotic coverage. A positive UCS was defined as a significant growth of a single organism (>100,000 for mid-stream urine or >50,000 for catheterised sample), while a positive UA was defined as pus cells >5/high power field on microscopy. After exclusions, the authors analysed 300 patients. The diagnostic validity of UA was assessed using the Pearson Chi-square test, by Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16.0. and a p-value less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results: The median age was nine months (IQR 13 months) with 68% being male. The most common indication for MCUG was evaluation for recurrent/febrile UTIs (n=171, 56.6%). Both Pre-MCUG, UA and UCS were documented as positive in eight patients (2.6%), and pre-MCUG, UCS alone was positive in two patients. The diagnostic validity of UA when compared with UCS showed high specificity and positive predictive values at 100% (p<0.05). Conclusion: A simple UA, when compared with UCS (the gold standard investigation for UTIs), has high specificity and positive predictive value in excluding sub-clinical UTIs prior to MCUGs. It may be preferable as it yields quick and reliable results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
